I have an HTC Touch Pro with ROM version 1.90.409.6NOR ROM date 08/23/08 Radio 1.02.25.19 CEOS 5.2.19965 Build 19965.1.2.3 As you can see the ROM language is in Norwegian and I was hoping to change it to WWE version. Can anyone tell me how I can change the ROM language from Norwegian to English please. My first attempt on your forum so please excuse any faults. I did try posting in another thread without response. Can anyone give me some simple steps to follow, so I can change the ROM language.
it is not as simple as u think. u hv to make urself familiar with hardspl, flashing custom rom & cook custom rom. all resources u may need already in this forum. and ur post topic quite confusing. i thought u r releasing norwegian rom.
First flash HardSPL and then WWE ROM 1.90.405.1 which is available on this forum and in Wiki. After that you'll have English language with the same functionality as original NOR have.
Sorry to hang.tuah for the confusion, as I said I am new to the forum and did read other threads but still unsure of what to do to change the language. Thanks to qsqa for confirming the conclusion I had arrived at but was not sure. I have read the article by OliNex and will look for a thread for the WWE ROM 1.90.405.1

Successfully changed ROM language from Norsk to English, many, many thanks to hang.tuah, qsqa, OliNex, and football for their support and help through this forum. As a 70 year old and my first attempt at tampering with my mobile internals, I really do appreciate this site. Keep up this excellent work and I will be making regular visits from now on.

Hay, i have tryed getting somebody to tell me how to change the ROM language from e.g WWE to NOR. I tryed getting som info from the IRC channel, but no answer.
I have watched the tutorials on how to make a rom, and thats not so difficult. i have tryed adding packages and other stuff. so thats not an issue.
Though i couldn't find a tutorial that are showing/telling how to change the language. Or changing the "build" of a rom.
because the official NOR rom, wasn't stable enough for me. So i want to either change the latest WWE rom til NOR. Or make my own out of an Blackstone rom (when i am litle mor into cooking).
Could somebody help me?

Hi there,
You need to get Norwegian language strings & replace all norwegian with the native language of the ROM.
Det trenger språk linjer fra Norsk rom og så erstater du norsk med originalen.

You have to flash a complete ROM since Windows Mobile 6/6.1 Classic and Professional aren't multilanguage like Windows Mobile Standard 6/6.1! You can find an official WWE ROM with the board search!

If you intend to only flash the Official HTC ROM, then make sure your phone is not SIM locked, or flashing will fail.
If the phone is unlocked:
1) Download the ROM
2) Connect phone to PC, and ensure that you manage to have ActiveSync working.
3) Double click the ROM and follow instructions.

On my old HTC Prophet, i have a chinese wm6 rom, that actually have 2 languages: English and chinese.

How can we did it?
NetrunnerAT tried many things but didn't succeeded in creating a multilang ROM, so I think there's no hope for such a ROM ...!
It was chinese rom, for Prophet, i found it on chinese forum. (I believe it was xbeta.cn)
Once, i have found one registry keys that depend system language (originally the key was 0804-chinese, but i changed it to english).
After SR, rom get english language, but it was lagy/slow
I have asked about it on 4pda forum (it was first exp, i am glad that found such good forum) and the answer was simple:
The problem was thats rom just didn't loaded properly, because it doesn't have english paths (Only chinese), so some files didn't loaded.
So this litle problem can be easly solved by changing paths.
I didnt do so because i have flashed new wm6.1rom that i found on 4pda.
But i am sure that this is possible
I think all we need for it:
1)Multulanguage ready rom (With .mui's for correct languages)
2)For changing language, user will just run simple program (or .cab) thats will add new path's and new registry keys
By the way, it was only 1.5 years ago

Hey everybody, I've not been on the forums for a while and a search hasn't turned up what I need so I'm helping a forum member can help me out.
I'm donating my Cingular 3125 to my mother in law but she only understands Spanish so I need a ROM that has the language files so the whole phone runs in Spanish instead of English
Really hope an XDA member can't point me in the right direction!

man, it's easy, go to the post what it's about OFFICIAL ROMS, then you have to choose the HTC S411 rom, and follow the instructions... when the rom is installed on the phone, change the language that you want, beacuse that rom has 3 languages... portuguese, english and spanish... I don´t want to flash any otherlanguage ROM´s, or install stupid keyboards on my device, but russian keyboard is needed. Is this possible to add russian? I saw even russian keyboard cab, extracted from off.ROM. Any help here?

Most likely you can't do this without re-flashing your phone to an English (WWE) ROM.
The only thing you could try is to hard reset the phone as I read that with some ROMs you get a language selection option then but I guess most likely this won't work either.
I bought my Touch 2 in Germany and therefore it was in German. I had to re-flash it to a WWE ROM too to change it to English too.
First you have to install HardSPL on your Touch 2 to bypass the Vendor ID check. You can find the instructions on how to do that in the thread "HardSPL kit for Mega Touch2 by jockyw2001"
Then just go ahead and flash you phone with WWE Asia - 1.28.707.3 from this thread "Mega - ROM - Hotfix - User Manual - roll-up thread"
You could flash WWE Europe - 1.28.401.4 too but then you'll have that supid EU volume limit so I would rather go with the WWE Asia ROM.
