[Q] Samsung Gallaxy S2 Issue with Samsung APPS

I have searched and can't seem to find anything but I may just be going blind
My phone is rooted and running VillainRom 2.1.0 but when I touch the icon for Samsung Apps it comes up with update message so I run this and then it force closes. I tried downloading the Samsung Apps APK and reinstalling but get the same issue. The Game Hub works but not this one. Can anyone recommend anything to get it working?

Click to collapse
Reflash to stock and try it, if it works then it is a ROM issue and you should ask in the ROM thread.

[Q] Help! I rooted my phone and uninstalled the calendar.

I rooted my Virgin Mobile Samsung Intercept and uninstalled all the calendar files (stupid, i know) but I can't figure out how to reinstall them. I have tried installing the calendar provider, calendar apk, and odex files that I download, but nothing will install. Is there a custom ROM that I can flash that will install google calendar again or another way to get back the calendar function?
Nevermind
Thank you EducateAndInnovate for the post on bROM!! Totally fixed my phone and added some extras that are wonderful! I do have a follow up question though, when I look at Titanium Backup at the ROM storage, it is almost doubled. Did I install two ROMs? Is that even possible? Or is bROM just a bit larger than the stock ROM?

Google Calendar sync

Just rooted yesterday. I was hoping to be able to use my Google calendar but the sync isn't working. Is their an easy way to fix this? I was an old thread in the development section but it looked pretty complicated.
I was on 1.4.2 B&N when I rooted with alberts 4.5 version and it is working great ... except for the calendar sync.
Did you enable it under Account settings? If you can't find that, try installing the Hidden Settings app in the dev forum.
Sent from my Nook Tablet using Tapatalk
Yes but there is an error message with just the calendar sync the others work fine
Odd, it worked for me (I've since moved on to CM7). Perhaps try clearing data on the calendar app. Have you opened the app itself? Perhaps you need to define the calendars you want in the app before going to account settings.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'm still not having any luck. The error message reads: sync is currently experiencing problems and will be back shortly. I'be used bussness calendar free and somnolence calendar I,'m pretty sure the issue is not with the applications. I downloaded synker but that gives me error messages also for the android calendar. I,'m going to keep trying eventually it will get sorted.
i'm having exact same issue as op. any progress on this sync issue?
everything else is syncing fine.
I was having the same problem. I could never get calendar sync under accounts.
I'm currently using CalenGoo with no problems. It's in the play store, and older versions are out there on the interwebs.
Another thing to try is to download the latest CM7 GAPPs package from the CM wiki ( google: CM7 GAPPs ---n00bs can't post links) extract the files and sideload the GoogleServicesFramework.apk (Not sure, but it seems to have given me access to more apps without incompatibility messages from the Play store and to have generally smoothed out some sync issues I was having with Google Docs)
I'm NOT on CM7 (tried it, now naively waiting for beta) I'm 1.4.2 rooted with Albert's excellent 4.5 version.

After using the v4.6 root I added two files the Calendar apk and the CalendarProviders apk, but I had to get them from two different places to get it to work.
I can share the files in dropbox, but I am on the NT right now and since copy and paste doesn't work I can't paste the link. If you send me an email I can use the Share function and I am happy to.

Disbable.calendar syncing even if its getting an error. The files need to be copied to /system/app directory and then you need to reboot the device. After reboot enable the sync options again and it should work. In the calendar app you need to then enable calendar visibility for each calendar you want to see.
Some new information... I just recently had to totally wipe my Nook Tablet and start over. When I did what I just said to do, it didn't work. Found out that Calendar.apk should be copied to the system/app directory then CalendarProvider.apk beds to be installed. I don't actually know if either of them need to be in system/app but this.process is what it got it back up and running for me after having to redo my tablet.
I'm also trying to sync (no success until now) Google Calendar after I've moved my Defy into CM9 (build 2012.5.29, kernel CM9). I've tried all sorts of things: flashing different Gapps (newer, older), wiping cache/dalvik, but all I could get was an error message "Google Calendar Sync Has Stopped".
The only thing I did not try was a downgrade to Froyo Kernel.
Any one has find a workaround/solution?

[Q] Missing apps in Sabsa Prime V12

Hello
two days ago I flashed the DHD from my daughter with Sabsa Prime V12.
All seem to be ok but we still missing some apps.
There is no galery app to view the pictures, no musicplayer app, no calendar app and no mail app except gmail.
So it is necessary to install all of them from Play Store or is it a error? But I have exactly done what is described into the installation video fro sabsa prime.
Or is there a error which results into this missing apps?
Are the apps shown in the system apps? Or just go to root of your system /app and install them
FRIEND IF I HELPED YOU
HIT THANKS
I must take a look in the evening when my daughter is back.
Can I simply install them like all other apk?
Yes install them normally
IMP to browse root of your syestem , download a good file manager and give it root access if they are not shown in settings-manage apps-all and if you don't find in syestem/app then you might have to reflash the rom or simplly download them from play store

[Q] Google experience launcher bugs?

[Q: SOLVED]
Hello, im currently running the daily Unofficial 4.4.2 and since 12/12 i have had this strange issue with the launcher when running 240 dpi, one icon in the dock is dissapearing when restarting or killing Google search, is this a common problem or is it just for me? i have tried to do a clean install but with no luck, any ideas why this app doesn't save the state? Thanks
[ISSUE:]
The issue was Google Search V3.1.24, an updated version that i have no clue what differs to 3.1.8.
[(OLD) FIX:]
1. Rename Google Search V3.1.24 = Velvet.apk from /System/Priv-app/Velvet.apk
2. Renamed to Velvet.apk.old, download Google Search V3.1.8 from here: [LINK] and rename it to Velvet.apk copied to /System/Priv-app/
3. Open Play Store and search for Google Search and untick "Auto-update"
4. Reboot twice so that play store would find it the old Velvet.apk,
5. DO NOT UPDATE Google Search WHEN PROMPTED!
You'r done, the dock should now be saving as supposed.
So, the issue is back... any one have a solution to this problem without changing launcher? maybe a modified GEL that actually works with 7 dock icons?
