[Q] What is the default notification sound (sms)? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I seem to have lost it, somehow...

It's stated as Default Tone.

Yep, I don't have it. I would apreciate it if you could upload it

Don't know the path, tell me the Root Explorer path so I can upload.

PS- Found it. It is the Pure Bell tone.

Userdef. SMS tone

Hi, have anyone seen a utility that kan make userdefined SMS tone?
Regards
the only thing out there seems to be infosharp. It's definitely not as easy to set up as smsnotify was for wm2003 but it'll get the job done for the most part.

What do you mean, make ? Is that as in creating your own, or is it just setting up the phone to use one you've already got ?
Anyway if it's creating your own, I can help you, I can convert any soundfile to wav or mp3...
Then put it on your device ( on storage card is has to be directly in the main directory ) and then choose it in Start/setting/sounds....
Hope this will help....?

Solution : SMS, Alarm Clock and Incomming Call RingtoneManager

Today I tried to suggest some new functionalities like SMS or other notification ring tone management to the great TNT WM6.1 cookers and someone said these are junks and should not be add to the great OS, if you want it then DIY (do it yourself).
I want to mention these functionalities are not junk because every simple phone OS has it. If it is junk why everybody searches the way to handle it ?
Why Windows Mobile can not handle such simple tasks ?
Anyway, I developed one and uploaded it for you in a simple executable file under .net compact framework v2.
This application supports MP3, Wave, AAC and WMA formats with no need to be copied to Windows or any other directory.
If there was something wrong, please let me know .
Hope you enjoy it.
Edit : A new feature added, Reminder Alarm. Consider assigning a new Task and set a reminder time and date for it. In this release you can set a new sound for it.
It says I need a newer version of the .NET framework
where do i get that?
my framework version is 2.0.7045.0
I have it installed on my device via TNT WM6.0.
You can download it from microsoft web site, from the following link I think :
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...6B-356B-4A2C-857C-E62F50AE9A55&displaylang=en
it works!
but only the incoming tone works. i tried to work the text tone
but when i do receive the text, no sound comes out
and i tried a soft reset
What format did you set for your SMS tone ? was it MP3, Wave or AAC ?
What OS version are you using ? And what's your device ?
I've tested it on Wizard (I-mate K-Jam) and TNT WM6.0 so many times and it worked.
i tried both WAV and MP3
I can not figure out your OS correctly.
What does the application show in the Messaging : New Text Message part, when you open the application ?
I ask others, please let me know the results.
Thanks so much.
it works. i uploaded the slim WM6.1 last night but is it normal for it to be so short?

You mean your SMS tone worked too ??
I did not understand what do you mean about it to be so short.
Happy that worked.
Do you have any new idea to be added or any problem in the application ??
Does anyone know how to change the alarm clock sound to any other sound file ?? any tweak ??
no. but that is what i wanted to ask from you
if you can make your program do alarm clock sounds too
I'm hardly searching for it, have not found the solution but if I found it, I will add it for sure.
Thanks you so much for your patience.
At last found the solution by testing on my own device
The application will be ready soon.
Provided the new application with following functions :
1- Changing Incoming Call Ringtone
2- Changing New Text Message (SMS) Ringtone.
3- Changing Alarm Clock Ringtone (new).
Uploaded the file here in this post and also updated the first uploaded file too.
So, please download the latest file to have all the functionalities. (Both of them are the same)
I will be really happy to hear from you and having your ideas about it.
Thanks so much, hope you enjoy it.
you are one amazing man! thanks
much appreciated
Thanks dear sungersoo for your support and help.
Any new idea and comment is welcomed.
Hope all of you to be happy.
can you tweak it so, when a sms does come in... you can touch the screen or hit the side button for the music to stop?
or the menu>dismiss when the notification pops up
I searched a lot, but I have not found anything.
I'm thinking about handling on screen key events, so when I done it, I will let you know.
Anyone who downloads the application, please let me know the results.
Thank you.

On your internal card find a folder called media, inside that one should be one called audio and inside that one notifications, put your alert tones in there. If the folder does not exist, just create it.

Found this link to the tone: http://www.hodgers.com/downloads/catchphrase.mp3
Your a diamond cheers fella!
Message tone
Padlad - you are a star - thanks very much
I read this somewhere and it worked for me:
Created 3 folders in the root (phone or sd):
Ringtones
Notifications
Alarms
Put your mp3's in there and they come up rightaway... not reboot required!

[Q] Transfer system ringtone files to SD

I have been doing a lot of searching and cannot find the answer as to how to transfer ringtones from the phones internal storage to the SD card.
I am running Cyanogenmod 7 and under the settings for the ringtones, at the top I have ringtones in english text and at the bottom I have ringtones in chinese text. I really like the chinese ringtones but are not available in the newer version of cyanogenmod 7.
I have check the sounds with the SD card removed from the phone and the ringtones I want to transfer are on the phone itself. I searched in \system\media\audio\ringtones and I can only find the english ringtones. I can not seem to find the ringtone anywhere in the directory tree. The only place I have access to the ringtones is in the sound settings. I even went as far as making a backup in recovery and extracting the .img files to possibly get the ringtones there.
I have attached 2 pictures of the settings where I see the ringtones.
At this point I am completely out of ideas. If anyone has any suggestions, I would really like to keep these ringtones for my next rom update. Thanks in advance.
I found one ringtone online ζœˆδΈ‹ζ±Ÿε—
I did find one ringtone online from here "mobile.91.com/Ring/32308.html" (still cannot post outside links). The other one will be more of a challenge since the characters are more complex. I hope I can get the others out of the phone. If you have any ideas, please reply. If I figure something out along the way, I will post my solution.

[Q] CustomROM's with Noise Reduction off ???

Hey
I'm searching for CustomROM's that have the Noise Reduction set to OFF by default or have the possibility to install a mod for this ? If you are on a ROM that have this feature, plz post it here.
Thx alot
Mines not set to off by default, you set it yourself when you hit the menu tab during a call.Theres a call recordind mod file also.Take a look if you like.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1290468
Yeah. I know that is possible to switch it off during the call. But it's just annoying to do this in each call. Because of that, i was searching for a solution to have it off by default. But thanks anyway for the reply.

See this thread. It can offer details on how to recompile phone.apk to have NR off by default (except for the first call only after a reboot). If you browse the thread, some people have posted their recompiled .apk's with this feature. (NR off by default)
EDIT: I followed the link from cooza above; that ROM has this mod built into it. So he essentially gave you what you are asking for.
