wait what? you got a webtop lapdock or you got webtop working on cm7????

I have had an Atrix with LapDock since August.
My experience has told me no one understands how WebTop works. Atrix is still on Jaunty. If anyone had any idea how the thing worked we would at least be running Maverick like the other webtop phones.
I would be happy at this point for the Lapdock to work with landscape mirroring.

Closest you're gonna get is maybe AirDroid, dl in Market, if it'll work with CM7/9.

Yes, you can run Ubuntu/Debian/BackTrack on any CM7, but you can't use bluetooth mouse cause drivers are broken. But on CM9 Ubuntu run smooth with exxternal mouse and now I am waiting for landscape mirroring. If you need I can make for you instruction how to run Ubuntu on your Atrix, but you can read the topic in here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1405454

you cannot run webtop on any version of cyanogenmod.
Running ubuntu on cm7 or 9 is not the same as running a full ubuntu webtop.
I dont know if webtop will ever run on cm, but I hope it does one day. I'm using darkside right now, a stock based rom so that I can continue to use my laptopdock with webtop.

No, I meant I have to change to a moto GB based ROM now because cm7/cm9 do not support it

Before I go and blow up my stock image - does Ubuntu work with the docks, specifically the lapdock? I'd like a nice clean CM install with a light-weight linux. It looks like you're saying yes but I'm double checking.

[Q] Anyone working on CM7?

Does anyone know if someone is in the process of porting CyanogenMod to the Atrix, since it is now possible
I know its usually secret until its kind of working, just can't resist knowing/asking !!
theres some work, look in http://stats.cyanogenmod.com/ and you'll find olympus in there, with 12 flashes i think
Isn't kholk working on it?? I thought I heard tell of that in a thread......
Look at my post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15206862&postcount=23
That is the only reply that you'll get, every other is 'wait or do by your self"
I think they're probably waiting to official 2.3.3 update in order to make the CM7 much more efficient and useful.
Yes devs are working on it. An atrix is being sent to the dev that ported cm to one of the droids

aliasxerog, ibproud and a few others coordinated getting him an atrix

Looking for helpers for ics :)

Haven't been reading the forums lately, so I don't know if somebody's already working on this, but I want to port over ics android 4.0 to the nook tablet. I need one tester, but not for a little while, mainly because I don't even own the tablet.
The tester is going to have to be there when I need him and be able to report bugs, logcat, etc.
This is my first attempt at developing, so expect things to be slow
Also, if some of the devs are willing to help when I need it, that would be amazing
This is not a guarantee that you will get ics. But its a hope
I would love to be your tester, and yes some guys are already working on CM 9. They even wanna get the 3.2 kernel working...

can't we just use the 3.x kernel?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1440438 has the latest progress from ics porting (plus the 3.x kernel thread you posted).
Yeah, both the CM7 and CM9 development here are pretty closed...CM7 insists they want a polished product before release and CM9 is going above and beyond with their kernel work, but I know for a fact that they had it 90% a few weeks ago, so I don't know why the news is slow in coming.
I'd gladly help you if you need some work, I not only have a NT but I have an 8-core machine for compiling, I'd be more than happy to build from your github as well.
Hmm... Well if they're that close to being done.. :/
But, the only thing stopping me is having the proprietary libs, which I can't get without the NT.

I can't help you now, but here is some tips.
Use Clockwork Recovery, you can restore and backup and install
Use some drivers from Kindle Fire Android 4.0 Firmware, not too many though.
Rest of the options should be Nook Tablet-based. You might be able to use some Nook Color drivers, but I highly doubt it.

In the development dection you can find info... possible to install gentoo or ubuntu as webtop - but not possible on ICS yet. Kholk - very talented developer - may port to ICS at some stage in future
To answer the question, there are threads on this forum and others about installing Ubuntu and Gentoo Linux in place of the stock webtop environment on Gingerbread ROMs. Motorola/Verizon (US) are pushing out the Ice Cream Sandwich update within a week, by the looks of it. ICS (so far) hasn't given the devs the same flexibility, as Motorola has de-linuxed their webtop environment.
Short answer: yes, but not at all.
Thanks ok I will wait for the ICS on the verizon razr, and I supose that the Verizon upgrade to ICS will incorporate webtop no?
Thanks again!
In ICS there is no Linux in Webtop. It becomes Android in tablet mode.
ooook! Thanks that´s more specific respond thak you very much!

[Q] Any ICS Rom that has webtop?

Is this possible? Or has this been released yet? I really want to use my lapdock on ICS.
Wait for the official release of android 4.0 from Motorola.
....
There's nothing else? I really more interested in custom roms
Nothing

Yeah paranoid android might be the best bet if you want to try ics and it's not bad minus all the usual bugs because of lack of drivers

OKay thanks for the answers! I'm planning on installing paranoid android 1.5 now. I have one more question.
When I plug my atrix in does the mouse/keyboard work? And does the usb ports on the lapdock work as usb host?
I doubt it.

Do any of us honestly believe Motorola will every release the ICS update for the Atrix 4G? Correct me if I am wrong, but they push back the due date to the end of the year if not beyond. This normally means they will not do it. Thank God for ROMs and these great developers here. I currently have the AOKP ICS ROM (Milestone 6) on my Atrix 4G and loving it.
I believe the photon got pushed back from Q3 to Q4 and it uses the same tegra 2 chipset as the atrix so that tells us something.

Still Q3, like it has been.
Sure, the Photon got pushed to Q4, but maybe it's because we're first in line. The Atrix was released first.

Unless you wanna do it yourself. everyone's busy with aosp or just source in general. So short answer:
No way.
We really don't want to run an obsolete OS that was dropped about a year ago and will probably never exist again.
ill do this after touchwiz and android cupcake.

WebOS won't be able to work on this device because we'd have to get RIL working on it first. WebOS is only going to be able to be on devices that are in the official AOSP repository (Nex1, S, GNex, Nex7, Xperia P) or devices that have been fully cracked open for development (HD2, DInc, GS2, etc) so most devices probably won't get WebOS unfortunately

Its sweet but the real problem is who actually wants it? I have a feeling someone will port it and everyone will use android. Like on the touch pad.
