[Q] Call disconnects at exactly 4 seconds - HTC EVO 3D

I apologize for the 1st post question but I don't spend much time on message boards unless I have a problem with something, then I usually search until I find the answer without having to ask questions...I have searched for several days but cannot find an answer...This forum has been where I have found most of the answers to my questions in the past so I'm hoping someone will be kind enough to help me out.
I have a EVO 3D on Sprint with the latest FRESH rom...The same problem was happening with the version before so I don't think it's software related but I could be wrong...The problem is that often when I try to dial outbound, the call will disconnect at exactly 4 seconds and go back to the dialpad...I can sit and watch the timer and it's 4 seconds every time...this will happen several times in succession and then finally connect...I use my phone for work and dial many calls during the day and this is really frustrating to say the least. Anyone experience this before? What was your resolution. Thanks in advance.

Are you updated to the latest 2.17 software his build on the rom is built off 2.17 update......
You could try a profile or prl update... Did you ever update your radios and what not be4 you rooted? What hboot are you?

Yea, I'm running the 4.2.0 version of the rom that was released 1/27/12...I got the phone as soon as it came out...I rooted as soon it was posted here...don't remember updating anything before root...this is what it says in bootloader

I am sure some way you can update to the latest radios and what not and still keep hboot 1.4 and S off I would read up more on it tho so nothing screws up .. Wouldn't want you stuck on hboot 1.5

go here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21374142&postcount=131
that is what I and many others have used without problems
and then try viperrom and see if you still have the same issue

Well, I uninstalled the app Call Confirm after my last post and I have not had the issue since...I cannot say definitively that it was the app causing the issue but it's the only thing I've changed and all is working fine now. Thank you to all that helped.

[Q] Official Radio HTC HERO ( Netherlands )

Hi Guys & Girls
First of all LOVE this website
i installed many roms for my HTC Hero but it always seems that i really have bad connection/reception ( dont know how you spell that )
when people call it takes up to 45 min before i get an text that i missed a call and many times i dont even get them. Next day i receive them. If i call someone it takes 3 tries before i hear the dial tone.
I have installed the following radio 63.18.55.06JU_6.35.09.26 from this topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=559622 but is this the official radio from HTC. If not..... where can i get it ?
Thanks keep the hero alive!
Your Radio firmware is from the stoneage Check this site for more info:
http://www.villainrom.co.uk/forum/s...ero-Radio-Roms-Download-Links&highlight=radio
But are those the official HTC ( dutch ) radio. Why do i ask........ before i installed custom roms/radios i never had problems.
I'm not sure which Radio is included with the latest official HTC ROM, but I'm dutch too and I'm running the latest version from the above site and have no problems whatsoever.
Btw, I'm running the latest CyannogenMod nightly
oke thats too bad i will install the latest and hope that i dont have problems anymore. Im currently running Elelinux-7.0.0.-RC1-Hero-v0.9 ( love this on by the way )
thread can be closed ( i think dont know what the rules are but my question is answered )
thanks
Hey,
Thats strange, try updating your radio... they aren't region specific, just get the latest... I'm german and did the same and it worked perfectly
but by the way u're using elelinux... i experienced very different signal strength on elelinux from one to another build.. on 0.9, perfect, got more signal strength than ever had, on 1.1.1 - catastrope. try updating or something if this doesn't work out maybe contact ele for infos, best if u post a message in his thread, i didn't get an answer to PM.
greets, Summoner
Hi there
so i thought it went good but too bad last night happened the same thing i got 2 texts around 23:27 (11 am) and the time of the text that were sent was 21:48(am) please help me I DONT WANT A NEW HTC HERO ( i like it )
thanks
Your problems can be caused for different reasons and you need to rule out all of these to find your answer.
Sent time definition
The time you said was the sent time, is that the time it was really sent or is that the systemtime of the provider or phone it was sent with? I really don't know this
Software problems
You are using an experimental OS probably with lots of apps installed. To make sure these are not causing your problem you should flash the latest HTC RUU and try again.
Provider problem
Hard to find out, but could be the cause. Both your provider as well as the provider of the person who sent you the message. In busy times text messages are sent later, for instance New Year
Good luck investigating

thanks for this here are my answers...
1.Well the hero uses the time of the provider ( option "automatic" in date & time )
2. Correct i have an custom rom i just counted the programs and there are 6 installed ( exclusiv.....google maps & google apps ) the official RUU can be found in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=559622 ?????
3. Called t-mobile 2 times about this problem but the nearest antenna is 200m from my house so that shouldnt be a problem. ( my guess )
im going to install the official RUU and will post my findings.
thanks keep the hero alive
Hi ya'll i have a problem

As a generally disclaimer, "random" issues can be the most difficult to solve as thre isnt an known reliable method to trigger the issue which makes troubleshooting much more difficult.
Nothing very technical was posted as not sure your technical ability to investigate issues with the device.
If you revert back to stock kernel and recovery and remove all 3rd party apps, there should be no random rebooting. If there is, it would point to a possible hardware issue.
There are many things which in theory can cause a random reboot. They range from poorly developed 3rd party apps to custom kernels/ROMs. The process can be very difficult to narrow down.
If you're technically inclined, after the reboot, you can grab the file /proc/last_kmsg and the last portion of the file should provide some kind of helpful insight. Should point to either the issue being kernel related or not kernel related which will at least eliminate one of the possible cuases.
Another approach is to revert back to stock and start installing 3rd party apps in sets. Once the reboot occurs, you've narrowed it down to a set of specific 3rd party apps.
Hope that helps!

did you try 2.17 on them?
My guess is if both are doing it gotta be a app you have running on both phones . Since if you rooted correctly and are flashing the proper way.

Phone Rebooting

I'm very hesitant about posting new threads but I've been trying to fix this issue for a few weeks now and I can't seem to figure it out. I've searched the S-OFF forums, formatted, reinstalled, rebooted, reflashed, and have exacerbated all my limited knowledge and now I come to you for help.
The moment I finished the S-OFF process, the problem started. I can send and receive text messages (sometimes it resets itself), and when I open the phone program and press a number or anything on the numberpad, the phone freezes and resets. I've verified that the phone is set to CDMA/LTE and so I know that isn't the problem.
I can choose a contact and press call, and sometimes it resets, but other times it completes the call. At one time, I used the phone trouble free for a few hours and then it started resetting all on its own.
I can also browse the internet (connected to 3G, 4G, or WiFi), and sometimes the phone will reset itself.
What I've done to try and fix it so far:
I initially had a problem with internal and external storage, so I did the fixes listed in the S-OFF post, and they worked like a champ.
I also installed the following roms and had the same issue:
Ineffabilis-Deus_v1.0.1-Odex
RezROM_S4_v2.5
CleanROM Pro 4.5
NeWts-OnE-XxX-RC2-Signed
vigorOTAStockRooted
Currently have the following rom installed (seems to reset less often than the others):
Business_ICS4.0.3_Sense3.6-v5.3
I tried this, but I can't type anything into the numberpad without the phone resetting, with or without the back cover on.
I've installed the Stock Radio from 3.14.605.5 and 3.14.605.10 leak (5/7 & 6/10)
This is what my bootloader currently has

Worked
I'm not sure what Voodoo this is, but I think it worked. I'll know for sure in a few days...
It is frustrating that I couldn't find it on my own... How did you know about it and how did you know that it might work? I'd like to know for the future so I can troubleshoot better on my own.
An RUU completely restores and/or upgrades every single part of the software and firmware. So therefore ANY possible software problem would gave to be fixed by an RUU. If an RUU doesn't fix he problem, its a hardware issue.

I've had to RUU mine due to tinkering so many times I've developed a digital nose for when it'll work lol.
Generally speaking, I've noticed two common issues with the Rezound:
The firmware not having been flashed completely (thus reboots and other weirdness) and the kernel/boot.img not having flashed (resulting in the phone getting stuck at the splash screen).
Also, I fancy myself to be some sort of dark Technomancer...so it's my job to know!
Glad it worked though!

Thanks
Well thanks for your insight. I've installed at least one other RUU, but it didn't fix it. Good catch and I think your Technomancerness is right on the money.
Props :good:

[Q] Phone issues, trying to get back to stock after updating

Been having what seems to be microphone issues with my phone. Was originally on CM10 and people on the other line said that it sounded like the phone was 10 feet away from my mouth. This was not constant and would happen intermittently. I could not reproduce the issue on demand. So I flashed a sense base rom, to see if that would resolve the issue. It did not. Then I saw the 3.15 had come out, flashed that, still having the issue. Now, I am at the point where I want to take my phone to sprint. However, I am now on hboot 2.09 with red developer text when the phone reboots. I tried downloading 2.13 RUU but it doesn't run on the phone. Can someone please help me get the phone back to 100% stock so I can take it into sprint? THANKS!
Edit: does anyone have the 3.15 RUU executable? I think this could do the job, but all the links I can find for it are down.

[Q] Insertcoin restart issues

Hey all I've been testing the new Insertcoin rom for my HTC ZARA_UL (Rogers Canadian) and everything seemed stable for a bit but a couple of things I have noticed are when my screen stays in standby for too long it wont turn back on I have to reboot my phone and other than that every now and then I get random restart issues where my phone will stay on for maybe 5 min tops then reboot and continue this process for random amounts of time. Sometimes I can go all day without any issues however and others I'll go for hours in a row with this problem. Not sure what to post/ how to get any debug info but direct me and I will dump any logs that I can to help solve this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
My bootloader screen is as follows:
Tampered
Unlocked

Currently using PhilZ Touch 6.26.4 recovery as twrp requires touch input and I have a few dead zones on my digitizer that deny my ability to properly flash through it.
I have a similar issue. Sometimes when i turn my phone off, 3 mins later my phone reboots sometimes its in bootloop. I replaced it and the battery and it makes no diff. Im not sure why it happens. Im on stock rom and jb. Its s-off and unlocked. Its possible that it causes by high humidity

Quite possible I know that it was some internal water damage causing my digitizer malfunctions however I have tried a few other roms and this is the only one that has these issues that I can tell.
Update** removed the security lock screen entirely and it seems to havbe fixed the need to restart the phone after staying in standby for too long and so far no random reboots/bootlooping. Hopefully just my phone not liking the lock screen for some reason?? Will post updates after a few more days use to see if the issues were all cleared up or not.
Speaking of Insertcoin restart issues...
Everything about this ROM is better than stock, but one of the goodies seems to be misbehaving. (I'm using the CL version)
Every time I try to use InsertCoin Kontrol to make any tweaks whatsoever, when I hit that refresh button, the phone reboots immediately with nothing changed. I've re-flashed it a couple of times, both dirty and clean, and it doesn't seem to make a difference.
(Made sure that I didn't inadvertently upgrade Kontrol with the M7/M8 rom stuff that just got pushed, nope.)
Perhaps I have an app that's not playing nice, but I haven't found it yet, not sure what sort of fault causes the phone to reboot immediately like that. Or is that what "refresh" means......
