So i know Chads kernels have zsl, at least some do but im having some trouble finding the rom/app combo that actually utilizes the zsl. I understand that its either 3d or zsl as they don't play well with each other. Anyone got something good going that their willing to share? For me shutter lag has kept me from using my phone camera at all. So i'm trying to get this working.

It's not just a matter of right kernel or rom combo. The camera app being used has to have this functionality. The Amaze Camera is capable of ZSL but not only do you need a kernel with the ability, but you need to unlock the zsl function from the camera app itself. The current Amaze camera port (v.11) has it's zsl part removed or fixed so it does not work. Someone would have to enable it in the app itself.

Sofar I have found versions of the amaze camera v.11 that have everything unlocked. I'm running anthrax right now and a flashes one of the cameras that I believe has the framework for the ROM. Haven't gotten anything to work but I'm still trying. If we could get a device in this I would love it. I would try some editing myself but I have no usable computer and I don't think I can do that from a tablet.

I know the version of v11 with ZSL unlocked you are talking about, and I think all he did was unlock the Burst and ZSL part that was locked by the original porter. I think more work has to be done.
Chad has released a kernel with ZSL capability, but he has not turned it on yet.

I got a file from that thread v.8 I believe that has framework and lib files within the zip. Hopefully these are a clue to what else is needed for it to work.

I went over to infected forum and shot him PM basically asking if he could make a release beta with zsl activated and that i would be willing to test it for him and if he could shed some light on what exactly is needed since it seems he's gone the furthest with development of zsl.

I have not been able to get a hold of chad. I do not want to spam him either and make him upset. So for now its a waiting game and we will see if or when he reply's to my pm. I will retry tomorrow.
Chad has said that he was working on a port for the amaze camera and framework himself. Its been a while wince it was talked about but im sure thats why he is putting everything in place for when the day does come.

I tried senseless 2.0, both synergy sense and senseless, and none of them work. on the last step when it says editing boot.img, it then states it's unable to copy it or something like that :/ its dumb. i've tried everything. I've been waiting for a multi boot like this

Iv been trying to get this up and running and well iv emailed they developers and they get back to you rather quick under 24hrs to be exact
OK to be honest I tired the hacked cracked whatever one never worked I decided to buy it and to tell u something it freaking worked. I love it for what it is but its something after playing with gets boring and troublesome because I got to restore apps and blah blah. Overall good for rom testing though

so far I have found and reported:
-No wifi
-no Bluetooth
-shows low battery led AND charging at same time when plugged in, battery shows discharging in system
-no data
-live walls don't load
-gallery only shows '100MEDIA'
I didn't try a call as I have no one to call at 145am lol. Currently nanding back to Viper.

sms works. Live wallpaper glitch, sound works, no data. Pretty speedy. 10% battery indicators are false.

Hey guys, I'm going to try to start to learn android rom development, and thought maybe porting a AOSP rom fromt the sensation would be a cool task to work with. Right now, I think the Sensation is the closest to our Amaze, but it's CM7 build is lacking. Either way, it will be a ton easier to port CM7 than CM9 for a complete noob, but that doesn't mean I don't need your help!
I like to keep an open mind and workflow on stuff (I collaborate musically like this) so anyone willing to help or learn something can hop right in and I would appreciate it!

They are very different.... thus it has been a pain in the ass to port roms to it, but since you dont have to mess with changing the screen/resolution to match it, it makes it a little easier

Ok, yea, the internals are different. So far as I can tell the sensation has an S2 snapdragon and the Amaze has an S3. I don't know if I can even get this thing to boot, but I think it will be a great learning experience nevertheless!

You mean the rom? As of now im just going to try to move some drivers, libs, and kernel around and see what happens.
I got CM9 booting by just editing the build.prop from the sensation ported a ROM think it was CM9 but touch screen and features didn't work.

yea, i by editing the build prop you could boot almost any rom, but you take risk of bricking your phone

Hmmmm, I'm wondering how bad this risk is? Like will editing the build prop, and keeping an existing kernel brick the phone? Because by my understanding I can ALWAYS boot into the bootloader, then recovery before it even touches the files that I'm injecting
Plus my phones S-ON, not that this means anything, because I have fastboot!
From what I've read, again, there have been 0 bricked s=on Amaze devices. There have been soft bricks, but ppl have always been able to fix in fastboot

I've got a virtual box with ubuntu on it right now, but its hard drive isn't expanding past 8GB like it should be, so I have to figure this out first...
Trying to copy a stock ruu rom for some porting! Just not enough space
Alright, so I used dsixda's kitchen to port over the libs and some files. I then made an attempt to get the update-script to install and it seems as if it went through. Now I'm stuck on the white htc screen. I'm uploading as we speak, if anyone can help I would be grateful!

There's the soft brick my friend. Try to boot into recovery and restore. If you can't get into recovery, you will have to re-install a recovery using fastboot or adb. You can find the instructions on X's site in Amaze>Development> and find a recovery... It will be labeled "hard way" but its not really hard at all. It's easier than soft bricking your phone

And this is One of the reason the Amaze lacks development... It's a lil more difficult to dev on... Combine that with s=on and a phone only marketed in North America and you get a ghost town forum

Thanks man! But not needed It's just installing to the system partition and one other, but both are active only after the bootloader, so I just hold down the "volume down" button while turning on, scroll to recovery and restore my backup. No trouble at all! In fact, since I'm basing this off the stock kernel, I don't think I need to install one until I can get it booting

Really good point too hahahaha, didn't know this was a north american only phone. Dang it, means HTC will try to go through carriers for ICS... I hope they "leak" it before they send it off to T-Mob and such

It's on the front page of XDA, says it works with all Sense 3.6 ROMs.
Tried it, Works The new interface is pretty cool, and pictures do seem to come out a lot better.
We have a pretty good lens + sensor, and I think the software is the bottleneck for the amaze. Hopefully this will help our pics look a lot better!
Instructions:
Download file, Flash it in your recovery, I wiped dalvik cache just to be on the safe side, and fix permissions.
Works ez with 4ext (BEST RECOVERY KNOWN TO MANKIND SHOUT OUT TO MAX AND GLACIER GUY WOOOO)

Lol its the only thing I dislike...
I'm not the biggest fan of this. Stock was perfect imo... Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a deal breaker and I'm still running CRCE, but I miss the stock ui.
I also thought my pics turned out better with stock.

with whatever NRG did in his GB ROM my pics turned out.. amazing! the pics were like 6mb each file and when i shopped it, it turned out around 10mb lol. with this mod i get around 3mb files, still better than about 1mb with stock. i can barely notice a difference unless i zoom in, still a difference though (for me at least)
Tried it on SpeedRom with 4ext and it works. I am seeing an option for ISO 1250, so I am guessing it did get updated. The interface looks the same since EclipzeRemix swapped the TMo Camera for HTC Camera in his rom, but I don't know if I had the ISO 1250 option previously. By the way, this rom is probably the most AOSPised, with almost all Sense element removed, so I am sure the camera should work with all the new roms that have come out since ICS dropped .
Pics come out looking almost the same for me, with very apparent bleeding on one side whenever the flash is on. Finally got done with finals, will have to check if the electrical tape hack helps with the bleeding.
Okay here's the deal. Using Energy ICS... The file flashes but doesn't do anything.
All I had to do was extract the zip and move the two apks to the system/app folder manually, then set permissions of course. Worked fine =)
Definitely (even) better than the stock camera. The focus seems to cooperate even better than it did before =). And the interface is seriously legit. I love it.

Running Energy rom. Flashed it, camera works great...too bad no option to change the bitrate for recording. Also, any apps that used data connection could not receive data i.e facebook, gmail, games, all sync. Opera and the stock browser works.
Has anyone tried a Rom with the FFC working corectly? (camera shot not sideway, and the effects working) I've only tried 4 so far and no dice.

FFC is Front facing camera, and yes it works on stock, effects and all. You say your self shots aren't sideways in Elegancia? That's the last rom I tested. I'm about to try Hasson's dev base, and see what that's like, if not, I'll just RUU, then root, and leave it like that, till the devs have more time to perfect their rom's. Some of them are really nice, but maybe I'm just vain, I take a fair amount of self shots, and the effects isn't that big of a deal, but that sideways action drives me nuts.
