[Q] Remove Pin Lock "OK" Button - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This is most likely one of those "simple problem, complex fix" kind of questions.
On the Android Pin Lock screen, after entering the 4 digit number you have to hit OK before it unlocks. I want to remove this need. If the number I enter is correct, I do not want to have to hit OK to unlock the device. I'm not above doing some tinkering with my phone, but wouldn't know where to start. Maybe there's even an existing mod to do it? I can't be the only one who finds it annoying.
Edit: My phone is the Samsung Vibrant T959. I use 2.2 and 2.2.1 ROMs.
I know that there are other lockscreen apps, but I do not want to use any and want to stick with the stock Android one.
TL;DR - How do you remove/bypass the need for OK press on the Pin Lock?

I have the same issue with my rooted Droid Bionic 4G. Custom ROM's like Cyanogenmod 7 have this fixed in their versions...anyone have the answer?

[Q] locks apps

Hi there,
I was wondering If anyone out there knows of an apps to locks the phone. Im new on this and what I'm looking for is something to replace the unlock swipe screen that came with the phone. I want something like a numeric keypad as a lock / unlock application.
Samsung Vibrant
thanks
Do you want a different option for a pattern lock?
I searched and didn't find anything. My brother has a numeric lock for his Nexus, but that's a CM feature.
I don't think they're out yet. If you find one in the market chances they won't work because of TouchWiz and you would have to be rooted.
Thanks for your quick response to my question.I am kind of new on this and yes what I want is a numeric keypad instead of a pattern.
once again thank you !!

[Q] CM7 Lockscreen Questions

I have just recently updated to CM7 and have some questions about the lock screen.
I use a PIN to unlock my phone and now on CM7 its making me slide then enter my pin. All I want to do is enter my pin and have it unlock it. Can i disable the slide? I looked in the settings but didn't see anything.
Also now for some reason whenever I lock the phone is switches to vibrate. I have no clue about this.
Any help is appreciated!
Ok so taking the PIN code off stops it from switching to vibrate when I unlock it. Still wondering about the first question.

[Q] Lockscreen first before PIN code screen?

Never really notice this until now.
Basically once i set a PIN code, everytime i wake up the phone it immediately goes into this PIN code screen instead of the lockscreen where you swipe right to unlock then lets you enter the PIN code.
Is this how it's suppose to work for the SGS2?
Apologies if this has been asked before.
That's a bug, but its there. No worries.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
go into settings-location and security.there you will see "screen unlock settings".Choose whatever option you want but if you only want the swype screen option to unlock then select "none".
Ahhh ok ... hopefully it can be fixed soon by Samsung or Google!
I miss my lockscreen with the date and time info without unlocking but yet able to pin protect my phone, coming from dell streak.
Thanks all for the replies!

[Q] Quick Pin Unlock Mod

I have looked all over the internet and all through XDA and I have either not seen it or it isn't there. I am currently running NOVENA on my i717 and I am using the PIN lock. I really liked on other ROMs how I could just type the password and it would automatically unlock. I was wondering if this was a mod that I could put on the phone myself or what I need to do!
Sorry about another Quick Pin Unlock to the series of questions.
you mean to tell me that adding an extra click by pressing the OK button after entering your PIN is such a hassle that it warrant a new MOD ??
Think of it as an extra character ... ie. instead of my usual 8 characters... I now have 9... etc
that was hard !!
I wasn't saying at all that its any hard work or anything, because obviously hitting one extra button isn't that hard. I just liked that if you entered it correctly it would just unlock. Personal preference is all. :good:
This option would allow much easier single handed operation(for right-handers at least) due to the OK placement.

[Q] Encrypt android phone without a lock screen?

Hey everybody I just encrypted my LG G2 and chose I believe a 17 character random password which includes punctuation. It's hard enough to remember and I only wish to enter it when I power on the phone. However it seems I have to enter it every time the phone locks itself. I don't want that, it's a heck of inconvenience. I just want swipe to unlock, not no pin or no pattern and only want to enter the big as password when the phone turns on. I am rooted and on the latest AT&T firmware.
Check out the Xposed Framework and the Lockscreen Disabler module.
