Camera broke!? Help! - HTC Amaze 4G

Need help! My camera closes everytime I open it, doesn't force close or crash etc, screen just goes back to home. I stopped it, rebooted it, battery pulled it, nothing works. Is it my Rom? Running unofficial ics leak sense 3.6. Anybody know???

Maybe u debloated too many apps/odex files? I would just retry flashing ics, or restore the backup u made once flashing ics.
Sent from my HTC Ruby running Sense 3.6

Is it rooted? If you are then try fixing permissions in your 4EXT recovery. But if its not rooted then try and re-flash or do a factory/data reset to see if that helps it.

I'm guessing you tried flashing a theme that doesn't work with whatever rom you are running.. do what glacier said, either restore a nandroid(of just the system partition) or reflash the rom you are using-- that is the simplest fix.

The problem is still persistent. I think im gonna give android revolution hd a try. Seems solid?

[Q] I Have A Serious Problem!

I Was Testing Out A Rom And Decided To Just Restore A Backup Of MeanROM GB. Well The Restore Went Through Perfectly As It Would Many Of Times, But This Time When It Booted Up It Would Stop At The HTC Screen And Cut-Off And Repeat The Process. At First I Was Thinking It Was Just A Problem With The Backup So I Tried Installing A Rom And The Same Thing Happened, Now My Phone Wont Boot. Does Anyone Know Of A Fix For This?:crying:
1. Try taking out the battery for 30 seconds
2.try plugging it in.
If you can get into recovery try factory reset and clearing cache. Let me no what happens

Hmmmm....I really can't think of anything else. I would suggest keep trying to mess around with it and see if you can get it to work. If not, try tomorrow. If you have warrenty and you still can't get your device to work, I would try asking them to send you a new one. But they most likley won't because you rooted it.

Hopefully I caught you in time before you used the ruu. Did you wipe before restoring your backup? It sounds like you have left over stuff causing issues. Before I restore a backup, I always do a Chad's super wipe first.

Upgrading the firmware might cause this try downgrading firmware to correct radio and version. As well as I can confirm that there are issues when trying to downgrade from ICS to GB. Did you try to reinstall the first ROM you were trying out?

Need help from those who have successfully installed cm9 on boot manager

K I'm using boot manager to install a cm9 Rom and it keeps failing at creating boot.img. I don't know what I'm doing wrong since I've herd of others installing cm9 roms sucessfully using boot manager. Maybe it's something in my settings? Tried making a thread at init2winit forums but have not gotten any response over there. Anyone here willing to help me out? I would greatly appreciate it.

that usually means you dont have enough space
Thanks for the advice. I did check my SD storage and it said that I only had 1.16GBs left. So I thought that this could be true I suppose. So I switched to int. Storage as the install location(which I have 9.67GBs available on) and its causing my phone to lock up and freeze. Happened right at the part "extracting Rom please wait..." Weird...

Remember to disable logging in Superuser. That also causes some major issues. Just open superuser hit settings icon, and where it says logging set it to off. You should have much better luck that way
Cool, I will try that. I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, with no luck. I'm interested though. What do you guys have setup in settings?

The Rezound is supported by bootmanager.
I've never been able to get boot manager to work correctly since I've started using it back on my dinc2. Had issues installing some roms on that phone too. Which is why I think my problem may be the settings I am using. Is there specific settings I need to use for the rezound?
EDIT: After I changed the settings SU I tried again at work and it froze still and even rebooted during the install.

Ok, so I finally got cm9 roms to install correctly and now when I try to boot to them it just shows the splash screen for a couple seconds and my display turns off and it never boots. I've tried with kang and paranoid with the same results. I've tried going into recovery and manually flashing the update zip for rom 1, didnt work. Can't think of what could be the problem....

Doesnt look like anyone has asked you this, but are you S-Off?? You need to be S-off for this to work. Also make sure when installing you wipe system/data/cache. You should be able to use the ext.4/2 either one will work. I use the ext.4 since it installs faster....alot faster.

only mentioning that because in the instructions for the app. If he doesnt have to be S-Off then thats strange. Only thing i could suggest after that would be redownload ROM and check MD5

Evo 3D problem...

Guys I have a problem with my Evo 3d. I did a nandroid restore and factory reset, everything seems fine. But after a while when I from any menu part press Home butom I get white screen with HTC leters and everything loads again. Anyone had similar issue?
I wanted to restore my original rooted GB back and to take oficial ICS update but I am not shure if my bootloader has to be locked or not.

As far as the first problem goes, what rom are you on? Did you try re-wiping and re-flashing as well as the factory reset?

You have to be locked and have the sprint recovery to take the OTA. However, that's not the way to update if you are rooted. Just flash the new firmware, and then flash a rooted ICS rom, stock if you wish.

I had the dame issue the first time I installed a Rom. I did a full wipe (data format/cache/dalvik) and flashed the Rom again. That seemed to work for me. It was pretty annoying getting that white screen everytime I pressed the home button. Hope this helps!

So, there is nothing magical about super wipe scripts, but this one seems to have had some serious thought put into it.

There is only one superwipe for our phone. There is nothing to compare it to, and no need as it works fine. The link you posted has nothing to do with our device.

Ta da!
I've never understood super wipes. I just do it manually.
No need for a superwipe. Just Factory Reset and wipe System and you're ready to flash. That's never once given me a problem.
I use superwipe mod all the time after a manual wipe. Reason because TWRP does not have option to wipe/format the BOOT partition.

Install any aosp rom, example deck cm10 8-31-12. The Rom have force close issue with the phone process at the beginning. Now if you want to go back to latest sense Rom, without wiping boot img, you will continue to have the same phone process force close issue even if you're on sense Rom. It just happen to me a couple nights ago. So wiping boot partition is my way of completely getting rid of previous issue on the last install Rom.

I was doing something wrong at the time, I forgot to flash the superwipe. When I first booted into meanrom 3.6 the same phone process force close still there. After realizing I forgot to flash superwipe, went back to recovery, wipe completely manually follow by superwipe then install meanrom 3.6, which booted fine without phone process error. Every time I flash a New Rom I always wipe everything at least twice.

Because not a week ago I left CM10 for Viper 4G because I needed the camera to work stably, and I did not receive the force close once.

I think a lot of people got used to using these from the og evo. CWM was thought to have trouble wiping so most would wipe two or three times to make sure it didn't miss anything. I haven't heard of that being an issue for a long, long time though.
One thing that it may help with though is if the ROM doesn't format the system partition. I've spent hours trying to track down bugs only to realize leftover system files were wreaking havoc with the new ROM.

Hmm that's interesting, i remember i flashed tranquility rom and was working great! then tested cmx and at the same time tranquility was updated and that error was still present on the new tranquility rom, but i thought it was the rom so i flashed another sense rom but, this time i used superwipe after manually wiping all and no error anymore, since then i didnt use tranquility thinking it was the new update. now i always use superwipe.
time to go back to tranquility :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

Cannot install business sense 4.0

I have the latest tarp recovery but for some reason I cannot install 4.0. I was able to install 3.6. But when try to install 4.0 it gets to installing then jumps to finish. If I try to install a backup the screen flickers and restarts tarp. Is this rom not compatible with the latest Twrp? I would like to know before installing another recovery.

I assume you mean TWRP... The new version requires updated binaries in the install package, I'd suggest reverting back to an older version or using CWM touch.
Yeah darn auto correct Lol. I installed the latest Race recovery and all works great again. Can't stand clockwork as had issues with backups being corrupted. Can't take a chance on that happening. Thanks for the explanation why it didn't work though.
