[Q] can we port stock camera app 4.0 to 4.1.2 - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any possibility of installing the stock camera app from ics (which had action shot) to the recently leacked JB 4.1.2 rom? it will be nice if I can use both camera apps bcoz I like both..
Please share your thoughts its greatly appreciated.. Thanks in advance..

No idea about ICS to JB .But u can port Camera & Gallery from Nexus 4 JB 4.2 to leaked Jb.After flashing You have double camera & Gallary.

Thanks for your reply dr30ma, yeah I am already using that similar way I am looking to port the Samsung stock camera app from ICS to this leaked rom because only in that the action shot is available and I love that..

I know CM9 camera has bugs but still is there a way to port it to stock ICS rom if I want to test it ?
can someone port it as a separate application ? not replacing the stock camera app on s2 ?

Try Camera ICS app. the app has got Free and Pro version.

This will be available on any AOSP based ROM. Meanwhile you can try installing Camera.apk from CM9 on the stock ROM.

Get it from the CM9 zip, I don't have it on me.
Already tried it, the apk installs but force closes as soon as you try and run it.

Are you talking about the one in Samsung Roms? No, you can't find that one on your new ROM.
Stock camera app is for Touchwiz based Roms
Swyped from my Samsung Galaxy SII
Just fixed it. It was the STOCK gallery app. I used to freeze it for using quickpic. First time it happens to me....

Hello, I'd like to ask if anyone was able to use protosphere in the leaked samsung JB rom? I've flashed it but when i click to photosphere mode it force closes :/

I only can say that it worked on RootBox, so in generall it's not a prob with 4.2 cam.
So I think it's just a bug or compatibly prob from samsung release. Over this the 4.2 apps aren't stable at all, too.
So u can choose for urself what u prefer now

the leaked stock JB is a test version and has lots of bugs, and also the stock framewrk doesn't support the 4.2 cam

Android 4.1 jb is available, flash it n enjoy..4.2 is a small upgrade over 4.1, just wait till it us ported by devs..won't be a long time for sure

Hey i used to flash it to jellybean but it is quite laggy with the apps and services running. do u feel the same? thnks.
For yr question : Camera n video encoding might be not working properly....
the only problem with my phone is the video recording . thats the only problem pal
If you want to use 4.2, you can test the paranoidandroid on development area. I will test it soon too
