[Q] Stock based rom VS CM10 based roms - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey!
I see that the CM based roms are somehow not so popular on SGS3. Why?
And stock based roms are so active

So?

Cause Samsung knows how to do it.

Probably The Memory Leak

still loving CM here.

[Q]Stock Looking JB for 9300

Hello guys, I am looking for a rom for my new S3. Since I am coming from Nexus S, I really enjoy the stock JB look. My question is, is there any rom that looks stock as JB, but is also preferably not AOSP/AOKP, CM based? Thanks in advance

There are several, the most stock like are JB AOSP and SuperNexus, Cyanogen Mod 10 and Ressurection Remix and Paranoid android 4.1.2 are more advanced options with overclocking, modding the notofication tray and more.

I was exactly in your situation (coming from Nexus S) and I ended up using SuperNexus.
But you have to take into account that SuperNexus (as many other AOSP roms derived from CyanogenMod, which try to leverage the SGS3 hardware) will not give you some Samsung proprietary functionalities (e.g. radio, Samsung camera app, etc.).
I also tried CodecROM, which comes from the opposite direction (a Samsung rom with an AOSP look), but I found it already too customised (even selecting the minimum customisation in the Aroma installation) and strongly themed.
I'm still looking for a perfect combination, i.e. a Samsung-based stock rom with a minimal AOSP (Nexus) look.
Anyone with a good recommendation?
I am using sotmax stock jellybean v8, has stock looks with many modifications, very stable, I use siyah kernel
If you're just caring about looks, get a launcher on top of any rom with stock jb theme.

[Q] Are we going to get any custom rom based on CM10.1.3?

I guess I am confused, would not be the first time.
10.1.3 ??? CM seems to be having problems getting someone to support a straight 10.2, which is beyond 10.1. and straight CM
all the others are merged and I think for the most part only use the CM kernel. I am no developer, from what I read.............
does not 10.1 translate to a 4.2 rom? which Beanstalk and PacMan already existed?
I think most have moved on from 10.1/ 4.2 and all have 10.2/ 4.3 versions of these rom's
Hellybean only recently was ported to this device and as a 4.3 and now to 4.3.1 and both the others are now in 4.3 also. I think you are just asking if anybody is going to develop yesterdays technology???

[Q] Which based AOSP rom have a better camera?

Hello guys!
I'm using cyanogenmod 11, but since that this rom have a buggy camera I want you guys to share your experience with other AOSP based roms. I just want a stable AOSP based rom with a non problematic camera.
Take another camera-app, fe 'A Better Camera'. But if 'buggy' means: FC, you probably have rare hardware. TW-based roms have a fix for that.

Most stable AOSP based ROM? (KK or LP)

A friend of mine wants to change the ancient stock ROM for his i9300. I'll help with the flashing process and I'm sure he'll be able to change the ROM on his own, but I would like for him to have a nice first experience with custom ROMs. So I would appreciate your opinion on the stability of AOSP based ROMs for the i9300. The number of extra features is not very important.
