[Q] what the best way to clear my phone ? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello all
well i update my SIII to jelly bean 4.1.1 and now uts I9300XXDLID
in the few days after update , it works good
but it begins to be little bit slow ( when i press the phone icon m it took 2-3 sec to open the contacts )
so i guess i should format it all and then update to 4.1.1 again to be as fast as it expected
do you have any advice for that ( for make it fast responding or even for the best way to format it all )
thank you
P.S i have no SD memory cards ( i use only the phone internal memory )

Error in Galaxy Note - TW Launcher Error

Hi All,
Actually I am in deep trouble because of my Galaxy Note now days. It is having TW Launcher error. I am totally unable to use my phone. It keeps restarting itself after every 10 sec. Everybody is giving me advice to Hard Reset / Factory Reset to my device. But my Major problem is that I have some very very important (almost 900 pics) saved in its internal memory. These pics are very very important for me and I do not want to loose these pics at all.
I am unable to take backup because its does not recognised by my or any other Laptop due to it restarting issue. This is the reason why I am not giving my mobile to any technician because no one is giving me any guarantee about my data. It is more than two weeks now, but I am still hoping that someone can solve this problem for me. In this forum I found some knowledgeable people so I get some light that someone from this forum can help me to resolve this issue. So please help me in this substance.
Thanks!!
formatting a phone does not erase you internal memory. you will just lose all your applications if it is installed in phone, contacts ( suppose its backed up in google so you can restore it later ) , and messages ( can backup easily try searching in market for applications which can backup messages ) .. whats your status? Are you rooted? if yes then go to recovery and try fixing permissions from there it should be in Advenced tab in recovery. GOOD LUCK!
yap internal sd storage has to be ersaed seperatly
so just reflash the rom via recovery
if u are rooted u may try to exchange your tw launcher with another version via adb or something

[Q] Excuse me, how would i create a NOT-bootlooping backup with Philz 5?

First of all, sorry if my question is one of many repetitions, but i just want to make sure i'm doing all well
So, a week ago, i decided to stop flashing custom roms since i never got satisfied with any of them...mainly because i always lose some of the samsung goodies such as smart stay, Settings Menu Layout or even if the included stock samsung camera were missing the default 'long-press to multiple shots' ability. So i'll keep the stock S3 JB 4.1.2 rom, but i installed siyah kernel to have more control over the low-system settings.
At an initial point, i thought that my phone would be safe if i didn't play with several custom/aosp roms everyday..., but i've encountered many apps that say they could break or bootloop my device, so i don't want to live a 'don't touch anything' life because i think that would be really boring and i just want to get my S3 to my very own 'best' state.
Now, the last (well, the ONLY) time i tried to make a nandroid backup, i was using the philz_touch_5.06.1 recovery for GT-i9300, but...since then, i'm afraid of nandroid backups...
The problem is that the phone got into bootloop, but for me it was ridiculous, because that happened JUST AFTER the completion of the backup, i admit that i before i went into the custom nandroid backup settings and checked the option 'backup /preload'..., do u think that was the problem? i feel like every noob that ticks something without even knowing what is it about..., forgive me plz.
Now, my phone is working ok, but i would like to make a full backup (including kernel if possible) just without getting into bootloop, so, what would you recommend? swithing back to the original CWM? which options may i disable/enable before making the backup?
I would test it by myself, but i'm afraid of having to reinstall everything again...
Ahh, and just another question..., i got a 32gb microsd Class 10, so i would like to use 'ExtSd2InternalSd' solution to automatically install big games and other involved things to the extSd and leave the IntSd just to record FullHd and maybe, a litte bit of swap, would this procedure break the corresponding External/Internal Sd/storage in Philz? (or CWM : P). For example, i don't know if after this, i would try to format the internal sdcard and philz would just format the external one...
So, here are my system specs:
ROM: (Stock) I9300UBEMH2_I9300UVOEMH1_ARO (from Argentina)
Android version: 4.1.2
Kernel: Siyah Kernel 1.9.1
Recovery: philz_touch_5.06.1-i9300
Thanks in advance!

Thanks! It worked, i've made a full backup to external sd and then restored it, the phone (at least within the same rom) boots ok
Sorry for taking too long to reply but i've been a little busy editing some shots made with the phone. Thanks again, really!

[Q] Random reboots after application re/install

Hey guys, :highfive:
I am having this problem since months and I found
no solution by myself so you are the only ones how could help
me out!
As the title says, my sgs2 randomly reboots, not always but
very often, after I installed a new app or deinstalled one.
Via Titanium Backup, Play Store or directly in the AppDrawer
...it makes no difference!
After rebooting, the application is (de)installed (-depending what
I did) but this is very annoying and couldn't be normal right! ;P
What could that be!? Please help me! :cyclops:
peace
scarfur :fingers-crossed:
You sure you're not running out of space in your internal storage ?

Yeah I checked this because I cleared cache and system with SD Maid.
I CAN install or deinstall them, as mentioned above! But I don't understand
why it reboots after the process...
\\Edit:
I am running on siyah kernel and paranoid android 2.54
Backup Everything ( internal SD , External SD , songs , pics , contacts , apps and their data and every damn thing on the device currently . Head to recovery , WIPE EVERYTHING ! ( AND I MEAN IT ) wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache,go to mounts and storage, format system, format data, format cache, format internal sd,format ext sd . Flash The ROM and the compatible Gapps and leave your phone as such ( in recovery itself ) for 10-15 minutes ( some say it is helpful for the rom and it also needs time to set itself up ) after 15 minutes , reboot system and it will then boot up . After it boots Up , AGAIN , leave the rom ( say overnight ) do not install any of your apps in that period , start customizing or even flash a custom kernel . Search For the ROM's thread( the rom which you are using and experiencing problems ) if it has any of the problems you mentioned or any user has reported it or not . and try not using a custom recovery for a few days( might be a problem due to the kernel as well ) . These are steps i frequently follow and i get great results from any ROM i have been using . Hope It helps you too and all the best !

REQUEST FOR HELP, i can't boot my device after replacing a system file?!

hi every body , first of all i want to thank you for your efforts and great work
now i'm in trouble cause i did something stupid , i was trying to change the background for my x'pop 5035D cause i'm in jelly bean 4.1.1 and all the backgrounds for the system is white and it's very bad for my eyes specially at night ,
i was trying to modify framework-res.apk that exist in :system / framework but i couldn't so i thought i can replace it and i downloaded another framework-res.apk and i used root explorer to replace it after taking a copy of the original file and since i did that the device restarted and stuck at the logo and i can't boot.
i tried every thing , i did nandroid restore and even wipe data / factory reset and the same result it just stops at the logo every time .
i don't know what to do , and i'm desperate for your help
now i managed to flash the recovery image from the first page of this topic and it worked , and the good thing is it's an ics 4.0.4 and i like it its dark and rooted and i don't want to go back to jelly bean .
but i need to do something else , i used to have titanium backup pro in my last jelly bean and i have backups of my apps and data , the question is how to use titanium backup pro to restore MY MISSING APPSand also THE NEWER VERSIONS of the apps that exist in my new rom + THE APPS DATA ,
it's my first time to make a restore and i'm lost don;t know how to pick the right options to do that ,
THANKS IN ADVANCE

[Q] GT-S5830i With No Keyboard

Hello
I'd be REALLY grateful for some (easy to understand) help, please!
Long story, but my rooted GT-5830i was playing up, memory-wise, a tad so I restored it to factory settings and formatted the sd card. However, I forgot that I'd previously uninstalled the stock keyboard (desperate to claw back some storage space) as I use Perfect Keyboard; now I can't do anything!
Is there a way that I can reinstall this, or another keyboard, (or just reinstall Gingerbread maybe?) from my laptop or via the sd card?
I'm no expert so would really appreciate it if any advice treats me like a pretty dull turnip!
Many thanks in advance

Just Flash the stock ROM via ODIN!!
Or you might consider installing CM11 on it
