Capacitive lights staying on? - HTC EVO 3D

I am running [ROM / KERNEL] [Team D.I.R.T] [LINARO OPTIMIZED] [JB 4.1.2] UNOFFICIAL AOKP v3.5.2. I have tried battery pulls wiping dalvik/cache .. even deleting apps. The only way to fix is a fresh install. I would post this on XDA in the OP but I dont have enough posts to put this in development..

that usually tends to happen with stock android roms like cm10, aokp, paranoid
after a while you just get use to it, but i'm sure there's an app that will disable them for you.

I can disable them with kernel tuner . But it seems my phone is staying awake. Maybe thats why the lights stay on? anyway it chews thru my battery. So its a isue that I have to fix. I tried killing the lights but that only fixes the cosmetic issue

DAGr8 AOKP JB Preview Q&A

Not sure if any of you have run into this yet, but I am using Pocket Casts to listen to netcasts, when I shut off the screen everything keeps playing fine, however when I turn back on the screen the phone soft reboots. Does it at the same spot every time. I tried moving the netcasts to the sdcard instead of external sd as a test. Still does it...
This happens to me on both the Aug 8th and 9th build from DAGr8, But does not happen on any of the other JB previews builds. And Yes, I wiped everything
I use my phone in the car for netcast listening a ton, so this is something that keeps me from using this daily unfortunately.
Other than that, everything else seems to run great. just seems like an odd thing to reboot the phone, maybe it has something to do with the audio players and how they interact with the lock screen as they like to put up a player wallpaper thing on the lock screen...
Thanks for the Q&A!!
I can not get google now working. It hangs on initializing then cant connect. I know on jamies cm10hybrid/ jb we needed the internal kernel....DAGr8 Do you think that kernel would solve the prob? Im not sure if you use Gnow....or if you recommend using a diff kernel...( going to re read op now too)
Thank you so much for AOKP!

The hotwire-internal kernel should work fine with DAG's JB rom, not sure if it'll fix your issue or not, but should be easy to test. But I don't see a kernel package from DAG if you wanted to flash back...
I prefer the hotwire-internal kernel myself as it has BLN support where as the R5S1 included with this rom i think does not? if that's important to you...

Excellent observation! I would like to know this too. Ill just flash it anyway. What could go wrong? lol. Also sometimes the voice to text option doesnt connect. I think youre onto something here Rocket42.
I know we're not supposed to ask for ETA's and im not but does anyone know (in lamen's terms) the reason why camcorder doesnt work? Is it a compatibility issue cause JB is so new?

I think the issue is in the CM10 base - JB PA also has broken video at the moment.
Edit: I see JB PA dropped an update this morning and I didn't see reference to broken video on the OP. Maybe a matter of time? :fingers-crossed:

Loving the Aug 9th build except for a few issues (incl the Google Now referred to above) - the changelog states that "wake on volume" is built in but it neither works nor do I see a setting to turn it on like in other CM9/CM10. Do any of you have that?
On the kernel thing would we just flash the AOKP JB and then flash hotwire's internal.zip, then followed by JB Gapps?

I can't find that setting either.
As far as the flashing sequence, that should work although I did AOKP, JB GAPPS and just a few minutes ago flashed hotwire's internal. No issues to report.
I used to change kernels all the time on my Nexus, I would just flash the kernel whenever, no wiping. Can't hurt to wipe cache/dalvik, but no need to reflash the ROM.

Anyone know how to turn off the pen pointer? I tried the fix to edit the pen file but that didn't seem to work. Also, I am getting Process:system is not responding error. Any ideas on either of these?
Features and changelog?
I'm sure I will feel dumb when someone answers this but I could not find the feature list or changelog for JB. The AOKP site only references ICS milestone 6 as the latest. I tried following the links from the DEV thread and I tried a google search which led to rootzwiki but I didn't find anything for the Galaxy Note. I'd like to try this out but I'd first like to know what is/isn't working.
CPU Settings Do Not Stick
I have gone into the performance settings and I usually change my min frequency to 192 (max at 1566) and checked on "set on boot"- I have noticed that the frequencies do not stick at all but keep reverting to 384/1566 - does anyone else see this?

I was reading somewhere that one of the volume mods causes some other issues in the framework I will have to find it. As far as the power menu I did do that as far as reboot options and screenshot. Unfortunately I will not be able to add the t9 dialer since I also build for a CDMA galaxy nexus (toroplus) since I found it not to work with the dialer codes for that device, but since I bought a N4 and may switch from Sprint who knows maybe it may make an appearance later on and thank you.

You're welcome however the things that you are suggesting that I add are things that I know for a fact I don't really need.
SuperSu: I would use but I want to keep everything open source.
% Battery: Android has % built into the quick settings, yeah its an extra step but hey its already there if I really want to know what percent my battery is at.
Customizable Toggles: there are already other roms that have that I personally like android the way it is and don't have a need to customize the targets.
I'm not being rude when I say this but maybe cyanogenmod or aokp may be more of what you looking for as I not about bells and whistles I'm more about smoothness and does it work.

Looking For Most Stable ROM GB/ICS/JB

I am currently using Hells ROM JB 4.2.1 but there are to many bugs. I got to work and my phone wouldn't turn on so I had to battery pull and when I turned the phone back on my battery was at 80% (was 100% before I left for work). Also, was on the phone two different times and phone randomly rebooted itself. The phone is for my girlfriend and I know she'll be complaining with these bugs present lol. I just want the most stable ROM for this phone. If there is a JB ROM that doesn't have these issues please let me know. Otherwise a ICS ROM that doesn't have any of these issues, or lastly a GB ROM since that I would assume is probably the most stable considering it was the last release VZW put out for the Fassy. Thanks in advance guys!
To me Team Baked blackbean 6 was most stable
http://goo.im/devs/BAKED/fascinatemtd/baked_fascinatemtd_blackbean-6.zip
And their inverted gapps
http://goo.im/devs/BAKED/gapps/gappsinverted-jb-20130118-tegra2-signed.zip
Their are some initial setup tweaks, but it's been great...
You'll also probably get some others mentioned,,,
,,,some phones work better with certain ROMs others don't,,,, kinda luck of the draw sometimes,,,,,,
,,, but AOKP MS1 was also very stable
Random reboots are gonna happen though some less often,,,
trying each one it's really only way to BEST figure out your own most stable ROM,,,
Just gotta embrace a little testing knowing their will be some issues and trial and error

Thanks for the reply. My girlfriend doesn't like change to much so let's see how this goes ha!
I'd suggest trying AOKP JB Milestone 1 or any CM10 or CM10.1 nightly. Personally the most stable rom I've ever been on was the CM10 nightlies
i was running the aokp pub build and found that it was a complete battery hog. i found google to be quite laggy with the pub build. now im running helly bean 4.2, the build that was put out a couple of days ago, and every thing is peachy. i havent had any reboots and only a couple fc's. im pretty new to flashing roms but this is what ive found..... good luck.
these roms have extended the life of an old device until i find a phone i like. props to the devs. you all are AMAZING!!!!!!!
I've been running Helly Bean 4.2.1 for a week or two now. I haven't noticed any major bugs, though, as it is the newest version, it does take up a significant amount of RAM, so just be ready for some lag.

I've never seen this option in Helly Bean. I've also never had this problem... What you could do, if you really liked ADW is continue to use it as your launcher on this rom, from what I've seen it can do basically everything any ICS+ launcher can do. Or you can try Nova/Apex launchers.

really? you've never had an icon move accidentally or one of your icons move off the dock bar? it doesn't happen that often but i want to lock it so it has to be unlocked in order to remove an icon.

Simple answer: No.

Temasek, the only problem is the camera touch focus with led on, solved with the use Of a 3rd party webcam

Revolt JB is pretty stable. After three days not a single reboot nor a fc.
They're all pretty good now, only thing is the camera, it's always the camera. But even then the camera is definitely usable.

*the perfect rom*

After trying every rom on earth I think the perfect rom for me would be an officially stock rom (debloated) with an overclocked kernel (and more) and the T-mobile theme engine. I understand that as these stock roms become more complex it takes longer to make the custom roms bug free. It would be great if a group out there start making roms with just a custom kernel and theme engine added. You can call the rom T.E.K. Rom short for Theme Engine Kernel Rom. Can somebody do it. Also can someone add the T-Mobile theme engine to the SnowJB rom, I would much appreciated it?

Also can someone add the T-Mobile theme engine to the SnowJB rom, I would much appreciated it?

Sorry, due to multiple XDA threads for the subject. I mistakenly asked on different(wrong) thread but I meant to ask here because the title says perfect rom. I may get same or different answer depending on who is looking at. Wouldn't mind suggestion from CM11 users; even not stock but if current nightly very stable running on all cylinder.

I like 1) official cm11 nightlies (updated a lot) 2) slimkat (it was smooth) 3) PSX (good speed) If i had to choose one it would be official cm11 nightly and use the neighborhood kernel.

because I go deep into buildings a lot, how can I get my LG E970 radio to default to or prefer the low frequency 700Mhz LTE bands 17 and 12 rather than 1700Mhz band 4 ?
my carrier is AT&T - I am in Alabama, USA
