Please provide more info such as rom, root, unlocked/locked, type of files, etc. It will help you get answered quicker.

If you plan on sticking with the stock browser, download from the market an app called "download all files". Its free, no root required, and will solve file type incompatibility issues.
As others mentioned, a 3rd party browser would also do the trick.

Possibly a dumb question, but are you having trouble downloading files or opening them? I ask because your OP doesn't say "when I TRY to download"

I had this problem. When I would dl something, like a pic or pdf, it would say failed or not supported. I hard reset the phone and formatted internal and the sd card. Problem stopped.

This should have been a no-brainer
For whatever reason I've avoided the alternate browsers thinking they surely wouldn't offer the ability to download the types files I wanted...I've been liberated in 3 minutes with the Dolphin browser.
The real beta of vlc is out on the market but its not available in canada ...yet . Anybody have a solution ..or a good market enabler that work with the jelly bean updated apk ?

Chrome seems a bit laggy Nd ish when it comes to a certain time during usage.
Dolphin Browser seems to do the magic. So +1

You might be able to modify the build.prop to make it think it's an S3.
So I click on delete and it disappears on my phone but on a pc or my tablet it comes back up.
If I do the same exact delete option on my tablet they disappear.
Anybody got any ideas what might be wrong with my gmail app on my phone?
Still trying to figure this one out :/.. Settings are exact only difference is the Nexus uses the official cm10.1 and the razr hd uses non official
