Security issue...help - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone..
I juss wanted to know if the"sim card change alert" function still works when d phone is formated-factory reset/(or even rooted).
Juss for a case......
I lost my phone and a person unknown to me found it and has no intention to return.as soon as he found d ph,he removed the battery, removed d sim card And then did d factory reset.and after dat he used his own new sim.
My question is ... does d ph still sends d new sim card no to the preset nos,as all d associate google acc gets erased by factory reset.after factory reset ph automatically shows its "sim card alert" setting uncheck making it useless.
I read somewhere in the net..it said dat although google acc goes..but cyber setting(ph mac add/google ph recog etc) remains and it detects d ph and send changed sim no. BUt What if..the person who found d ph never uses d internet..how can d cyber setting work?...
Or does rooting d ph juss after finding makes it more easy for untracking?
Thanx in advance..

I would say that reflashing a rom/stock rom would cancel anything you set up.
Dont be so stupid and lose your phone next time.
"noob ok...lazy noob not ok"

i would say: use some more proper english next time
and my main question is:
why dafuq would YOU steal someone's phone and ask some dumb questions in here?

Lol, that's not gangsta, not even ebonics, that's something else

Seems..no one went into my question properly..it was a simple one.
""Do the SIM CHANGE ALERT security option still work if the phone gets formated/factory reset?""
PS:- Factory reset wipes the google accounts and makes the sim change alert option UNCHECKED.
Anyways..thx all for ur time:thumbup:

wat meen yu guys?
You guys never worked for T-Mobile so you do not know how the system works. Whenever you use a phone, the IMEI registers onto the system BUT the last digit is always incorrect. So when they gave him the IMEI, the last digit is 0 but it is supposed to be 5. The system never has the correct last digit. It's been like that for years.
I work for TMO, knew that
Who I dont work for is the translator of incoherency, i literally had no clue what he was asking
I had to reread it 3 times to make sure I understood what he said lol

WTF Translator:
My phone was stolen*, so I called T-Mobile to get a replacement, and they asked me for my IMEI, but the thing is that when I told them the IMEI, they said that every IMEI ends with an zero, but my phone ends with a 5! What can I do?
* The thing where he was talking about damage was untranslatable, so I skipped it and tried to make the best sense of it.
Now since this is translated, I feel that you guys can help him more.

Restart atleast once a day, let your phone settle for 2-3 days, disable data when not in use, Don't intall too many useless apps which you dont use. Try disabling the "Force GPU rendering - use 2D HW accelration in apps".

when i use the device for more than 10 minutes with lags it becomes almost normal gradually , but when i leave the device for about half an hour it lags again !!
why it takes time ?? is it processing something takes about 3 days ?
I dont think it has to do anything with rooting your phone.. Unless u have played with your system settings.. Please dont touch settings like oc and all or any modifications in built.prop till u know what it is n what it does.. Just see your ram consumption.. Try using a firewall to stop background processes.. It has always helped me when I was on stock.. N still does..
And especially, read more.. Surely u will find something on xda as a solution to your problem bro
Hit thanks if that helped..

Well, mate welcome to Xda! Take some time to read before you mess up with phone!
Also,
The thanks button is there to show a sign of appreciation for replying to your post (more often, when you get helped)and to avoid spam posts
But just a reminder,
'I'll hit thanks only if my problems get solved fully is not the right way to proceed '
I'm just stating the fact citing your post! Whet do you mean by last line of yours :screwy:! Not appreciated mate!
By the way,no one needs your thanks here mate! You're the one who needs help and when someone cares to help, show some gratitude which noobs don't show and hence, people neglect q n a threads!
Hope you got my point

you don't need to teach me politeness, the title of the post is obvious .. if u have any solution u can post it and u r thanked, if u don't please just ignore
i'm not attacking "Vishal" , i'm talking to him in sense of humor just like he does .. maybe your culture is different than mine ,
because i am from "Syria"
but i don't mean any offence to that guy and i said to him "thanks" << when i type thanks then i really mean it , i dont care for the buttons.. so plz dont put your self in the middle , ok ? |no offence too|
and still asking for a solution for my problem , it will help " not only me " for sure

The thing [email protected] if u talk in such a manner no one would come to help u forever so pls apologise to each other and if u really mean thanks press it no spams are allowed and respect others views and whats u dont care about buttons. This isnt ur or mine forum. Android as well as xda is open to all. So pls speak or request politely next time.
@main topic now... U deleted bloatwares? Crap apps like facebook setup guide and all .... Try a custom rom it wont lag even neo l dev saingpor is bringing his rom for neo l soon... Or else try cm7.2 for neo l. In general section theres a thread named heavy gaming on neo l try that rom.. May be ull solve ur problem
P.S. Help each other guys instead of fights and rough behavior and if u really mean thanks press button instead of spamming. Help keep xda clean. Thanks

i think problem with rooting method. bcz i have rooted and unlocked bootloader phone. very fast and smooth. no lags. First of all how Doomlords works for you??? bcz neo l is not supported. u have to flash MT11 phones kernel first then use doomlord and reflash it using original one. i did same.and its very fast. even fast than the original.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S3 T-Mobile Forgotten Passcode

I've forgotten my combination for the pass code and have no way getting in. I've tried the method where you goto emergency contacts and then press home and immediately turn the screen off. Though it does't work because even if I press the sleep button, I don't see a glimpse of the screen. I cant just factory reset it because I have very important information on it. I've thought of a method, but I'm not sure if its gonna work. My method is
1. Install clockworkmod
2. Backup all the files
3. Factory reset the phone
4. Restore the files
My question is will it work? Will i have all my files back and will my phone be in the same format as before? Will there be no passlock anymore?
I would recommend taking proof of purchase to your carrier to see if they can help. Please understand if your intentions are honest and we help you, we're also helping people with dishonest intentions.

If you put in the wrong code enough, it will give you the option to put in your Google password to reset your code.

I've already tried that, but it's not my phone. It's my uncle's who is really bad with technology. He decided to ask me to try to fix it for him. I don't even think he has an email now that i think of it. And plus i dont even think he has a computer or wifi. I really want to help him fix it.

My thoughts entirely!
Closing as its getting to the point where even I am dubious...
As for will it work, no it won't, there is a very logical reason why it wont as well.
