[Q] 2 Superusers installed: how to safely remove 1? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Not sure how I did this as I'm a android noob - but I have both Superuser, and SuperSU installed, apparently. I never like having two of the same task on things that touch root.. How do I correctly uninstall one of those without having an issue?
thank you
c

Simply uninstall one of the apps.
And you will create a thread for this kinda of doubts??

Superuser or SuperSU???

Hi guys i have a quick question about super user:
1- What's the difference between ChainsDD's Superuser and Chainfire's SuperSU?
2- Which one is better, more stable, and why?
3- I currently have ChainsDD's Superuser app installed as stated.in a thread here at XDA, but let's assume that i wanted to unistall the one i have and install Chainfire's SuperSU instead, how do i go about doing this?
Do i install it from the recovery just like i did whith my current one? And how do i even uninstall my current one?
--how do i uninstall the superuser app from my sensation 4g?--
Thanks in advanced
Hope anyone can help me here
Have a good one

for me SuperSu Better.
I believe the process for switching is install SuperSU, which will install a new, slightly different su binary. Once you have installed SuperSU (and maybe run it once), then you uninstall Superuser. If you want to switch back, install Superuser, let it change the su binary again, then uninstall SuperSU.
EDIT: And I don't know which is better, I have only used Superuser.

Superuser

Hi guys I have tmous sensation 4g s-off, rooted, 4ext, unlocked.
I want to know if.its.possible to change my Superuser for SuperSU? And how?
Does.anyone have or knows a guide/tutorial on how to do this?
Also what is busybox? What is it for? Do I need it? Will it affect my stock Rom stability? Cause I see that titanium says its using its.own busybox.
Thanks in advanced.
Have a nice day every1.

Just install SuperSU and run it once. This will replace the Superuser su binary with the SuperSU su binary. Then you can remove Superuser if you wish.
As for busybox, a bunch of root apps require it, it basically adds a bunch of commands for their use. You can grab "Busybox Installer" from the Play Store to install it. Titanium Backup has it's own version built in. Other apps require you to have installed it. If you don't use anything requiring root other than TB, you don't need to worry about. Otherwise, I'd install it.

[Q] Some question about my Galaxy s2 phone

Hello Professionals,
I have a question please. I rooted my phone using Rachmat3's guide [GUIDE] ROOT/UNROOT Stock ICS Firmware without flashing unsecure kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1501719
I rooted it successfully but sometimes whenever i play some games (Asphalt 6 Adrenaline an example), this notification "shell has been granted super user permission" appears continuously for around 5 mins and when i check the superuser log, it allowed "shell" for more than a hundred times and i couldnt still open the game.
Here is my phone information.
Model number : GT-I9100
Android version : 4.0.3
Baseband version I9100XXLPX
Kernel version : [email protected] #3
What could be the reason of this? Any advice? Thank you.

it seems.... probably asphalt is infected with virus...
No, it's not a virus
It's an issue with SuperUser (specifics/details if you want to get technical can be found here somewhere if you do an XDA search). The easiest method to fix the issue without stuffing around is to install SuperSu from Google Play, update the binary on that app, then uninstall SuperUser & reboot.
That should solve the problem.
P.S - You could have found this solution by searching, this has been covered here more times than I've had hot dinners.
P.P.S - If the problem persists once you've done that (unlikely but possible), contact the developers of the apps in question. Clearly those apps are asking for root over & over (looping) when they shouldn't be.

Ok, i will try but i want to ask some more question for clarification.
1. I will install SuperSU as normal apk file?after that..
2. how do i remove my current superuser? i installed it using update from internal sd using recovery mode.
Thanks..
1. Go to Google Play (on your phone obviously; unless you want to do it from your PC & push it to your phone, which is a pain in the arse), search for SuperSu (free version) & install it like you would any other app from Google Play Re-read what I said to do after you install it, I'm not repeating it.
2. Settings/Apps/All - Uninstall SuperUser. Reboot.

You can download Rom toolbox from the market and use it to uninstall SuperUser. now your root access will be from SuperSU.

Tired of SONY's bloatware

I got sick and tired of SONY's bloatware. I uninstall them all(appXtra, UEFA.com, Mcaffee security, wisepilot), but after I reboot my phone, all of them gets installed.
Any solution to this?
I'm going to install custom ROM this weekend anyway. But would like to know the solution to that problem.
PS:I rooted my Neo V

Install Root Explorer and delete the apk's from System and you wont't get them back at reboot
PS - save yourself the trouble because weekend is here and you'll be installing a custom ROM
:fingers-crossed: Happy Flashing :fingers-crossed:

Its really simple man
1. open root explorer( obviously ur phone shud be rooted to use this)
2. then open system folder.
3. then open app folder.
4. then u will see all the apps u get with the phone.
5. delete appxtra(anything u want)
.
If the apps dont delete .
there will be an option on top "R/O'
make it 'R/W'
then start deleting.
Please hit'thanks' if i helped
The WisePilot and the others can be found at "system/etc/product/applications"

AW: Tired of SONY's bloatware
Take a look at link to SD. If you have root on your phone its a fine app.
It lists you all system apps on you phone and offers a uninstall option. Very easy and no browsing with root explorer.

Hey,are you still on stock?
And do you wanna remove bloatwares?
If yes,pm me... I've a tool made up! Maybe you could try! Btw it needs root and cwm

i had your problem too on stock. You uninstall them and on reboot they install themselves. I couldnt find a solution for this until I tried system cleanup and sdmaid. I cleanedup everything and they never showed up again. But in my opinion stop using original stock and flash a rom. (you dont have to unlock your bootloader to do that for most roms .)
Hey use neoMaid 1 ...it can be found in themes and apps...it removes and optimizes phone in one flash.....totally trouble free...

Question Debloating system apps

Has anybody tried the universal debloater script for this phone? Tried uninstalling certain system apps through lucky patcher and titanium backup but with no success. Also tried deleting the apps through root explorer but in vain. Does anyone know how to change the permission of drives or internal folder /files without softbricking the phone. Any help would be much appreciated
i did it trough ADB SHELL commands
look here:
Oneplus pure debloat
A side note before running the .bat file.....make surw you have a keyboard app to install as gboard is disabled....i recommend openboard from fdroid. UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE Few more too add to debloat com.qti.dpmserviceapp com.qti.diagservices...

Rooted the phone as soon as I got it. The only thing that I could do was freeze the apps with lucky patcher. However, the adb command did worked like a charm. Thanks.
I always freeze them with Swift Backup. That works perfectly. The nice thing about freezing over deleting is that once you do an update, they keep being freezed. If you deleted them before, you have to start over and over again after every update.
Yeah also a good solution.
