(Guide) enable shutter sound option TW camera and enable infinite scrolling - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

I never start posts, but have seen this asked many times with no answer. So here's how you can toggle. The shutter sound on any TW camera.
1. Get the file manager of your choice, I like es file manager.
2. Open it and grant super user. Then navigate to /system/csc and open features xml.
3. Find the line
<CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>false</
4. Change false to true
5. Save and reboot
6. There is now an option for shutter sound in your camera settings
For infinite scrolling on tw launcher.
Find <CscFeature_Launcher_DisablePageRotation>true</
It's at the bottom
Change true to false, save, reboot and enjoy

It is a system from Samsung that let's you locate your phone if stolen and also remote lock and wipe it. Will also give a warning if the sim is swapped.

I'm sure there's an option to mount the system as writable under settings. I don't use root explorer and it was 3.99 do I'm not gonna buy it to find the option.

This is not working for me, it saves the edit OK but I do not see the menu item. I have rebooted after the edit.

Have you opened the file again to make sure the setting stuck after reboot. Also where are you looking for the option? It should be in the camera settings right under gps tag.

Just change R/O or whatever the default is in the right hand corner to R/W or whatever the other option is and you'll be able to save and reboot.

Nice Nice. Waiting for a download link. Nguyenxuanhoa is one of the best MOD ever, occasionally he is a lazy man.

Good luck with the ROM mate. 2 things. You have said 2.4 Camera when I think it is 4.2 camera. And secondly
ATTENTION TO ALL USING MULTI SCREEN WINDOW
Do you love multi screen windows but hate that stupid tab on the left hand side of your homescreen? Well, I just worked out a very fast and simple way to disable and enable this multi screen tab without having to disable the mod at all and without having to go in to any menus or settings to do it.
How? Make sure you already have the multi window box ticked in Settings>Display! Now "While on your homescreen" hold the capacitive back button down and then tap the capacitive menu button without releasing the back button. This will make the tab disappear (Not disable the feature). Repeat these steps to bring back the main multi screen bar, click on the home screen to minimise the multi screen bar back to a "tab"
EDIT* Looks like this works by simply hold the back button rather than tapping menu button too.
Developers might want to add this to their OP or FAQ!
I hope this helps somebody as picky as me
*If this fails to work for you, my setup below*

Hi,
You can do a little thing...using root explorer copy SystemUI from preload/symlink to yur PC.
Then with winrar or 7zip (i use winrar) extract drawable-hdpi from SystemUI, and search for the 2 icons that you see on statusbar.
Then using Gimp or photoshop, just erase the icon, (not the transparency) and set his size to 1 pixel.
You'll have a transparent icon with 1 pixel size. Copy it back to drawable-hdpi and rebuild using winrar or 7zip, and copy to your phone.
With root-explorer copy again to preload/symlink, and give appropriate permissions.
Reboot, and your icons will be gone...
Don't remove them from SystemUI...you'll lose systemUI...

Removal of NFC icon in noti bar

Not sure if anyone posted this but I found a super easy way to kill the stupid "You NFC is on" notification.
Edit /system/csc/feature.xml file
Find the line:
CscFeature_NFC_StatusBarIconType>ATT< CscFeature_NFC_StatusBarIconType
Remove ATT save file and reboot.

Gonna have to be a little more specific for n00bs (like me, sorta), the file is called "feature.xml" not "features.xml," and I see a few instances of "ATT" but not a whole line by itself - what is the actual line?
Thanks in advance! Next task is getting rid of the Smart Stay Eye icon!

You're missing the point...... for some reason, Samsung decided we needed to be constantly reminded on the notification bar that NFC was enabled - we want it enabled, we don't want to disable it just to hide the icon!

For Canadian users (on Bell at least), there is no features.html file.
Look for others.html in the same directory, make the required changes and you are golden.

Must have been an AT&T decision. I switched from the S4 on Sprint to the AT&T S4 and on the Sprint version there was a clear option to disable the icon. Strange.
for rogers , the file is called others.xml
but anyone happen to know what line is for blocking mode ?
would like to disable that icon.
You see Im trying to port that NFC icon on other S4 variants. Because AT&T is the only one that have it on status bar.. Some people wants it so I'm trying to do it for them.. I changed the systemUI icons.... Some says att and i changed them to default... Anyways that didnt worked and flashing a att rom on my tmobile s4 did the tricked. But also people want the tmobile based roms cause of the wifi calling feature

IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING DO NOT USE THIS, IF YOU MESS UP YOUR PHONE WILL BE STUCK AT THE AT&T LOGO
ONLY USE ADB, DO NOT USE A ROOT FILE EXPLORER
1. Make a backup copy of the framework-res.apk some where on your phone
2. If you are not on at&t, do not try these without a custom recovery (twrp or cwm). Minor differences in these system files can easily cause a boot loop, which in the absence of a recovery can be a soft brick!
3. If you dont know how to use adb STOP DO NOT TRY THIS
4. Make sure you use the adb stop command before copying

While I haven't looked at any framework-res I am quite familiar with the systemUI. It looks like it is set up for everyone, as there are calls for ATT, Tmo, VZW, Japan, Korea, China, and EUR all in the ATT SystemUI.apk so I assume they are all the same.

The green bar can be changed by modifying the "tw_device_options_on.9" icon in drawable-sw360dp-xxhdpi folder. I changed it to the same blue as Stolen's other icons and it looks much better now. Also changed a few of the other restart/shutdown icons as well.
Attached is the tw_device_options_on.9 icon if you want to go ahead and replace it.

Nice idea!
Hmm how about a carrier label feature in the status bar something like in mokee roms or AT&T devices op?
@hamzahrmalik doesn't work on gingerbread, log attached.& btw why should it need internet permission?? & also it prompts supersu permission too! AFAIK, only xposed installer needs supersu permission, not the modules! :/
Maybe you add option for carrier name in the future?

Internet: for ads
Superuser: probably for restarting the SystemUI so you don't have to reboot (just guessing, not OP)

I think Dapil has answered your question regarding permissions. As for gingerbread compatibility, I will try to fix thanks for letting me know. It is the weekend so it'll be done soon

Alliance ROM color Panel issues?

I have the Alliance rom v3 installed on my Galaxy s5. Love the Rom but have a few issues I'm trying to figure out how to fix. Any ideas how to fix the grayed out panels and change the greenish color of the panels. Pics below! I tried looking in settings but no luck thanks a million!

I thought that was a TW thing. I have the same issue on stock so it has nothing to do with your rom. Maybe it's an xposed thing?

Yeah, it's really jarring and annoying.
To change the gray panels to stock color: go to Settings/Custom Settings/General Mods/ then uncheck Dialog pop ups user selected

I'm sure there is, but that will definitely be more work than just setting it via the settings. What is it you're trying to achieve exactly? Also, I believe those dialog boxes are in the framework-res apk. To edit them you need to decompile the apk, edit the .9 PNG's, recompile, then push to your phone.
Here is a tool and a guide I have found that will help you.
