[Q] Not possible to change lock screen background (on STOCK JB NEE) - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

ON my newly upgraded stock JB nordic nee version I get a message saying "Not enough room/space". What could this be? Changing ordinary home screen background works fine...

search, there's a couple of threads about this.

[Q] Screen keeps coming / turning on whilst locked

Hi,
I've noticed a few times now that my screen will just turn on at times whilst the phone is locked (showing lock screen).
I've checked for notifications but there has not been any.
Does anyone know why it is just coming on like this? I'd like to stop this behaviour.
I did not notice this when I was on O2 carrier branded KE1 firmware - only since flash updating to stock KG5... it is very annoying.
Can anyone help!??
Thanks
Darren
Can't really help you, but I've noticed mine doing that once in a while too. I do have WidgetLocker installed, but I don't know if that has anything to do with it. It did it when I was on KG1, but now I'm on XXKH3 and I haven't noticed it yet.

[Q] ICS (stock) can't disable touch sounds [GOING MAD]

Yesterday I OTA upgraded to ICS, my carrier is Vodafone NL.
The upgrade is great and all but I can't disable the 'touch sounds', even though they are turned off in the sound settings. Boxes are unchecked. So the phone makes sounds when I tab, scroll and suchs. This bug is irritating as hell and I don't know how to fix it because I can't reinstall ICS using Kies and I don't want to root my Galaxy S2. Searched all over the Internet but can't find any people with a similar problem.
The only way to turn of the sounds is to disable 'Music, video, games and other media' sound to 0% you can't hear the sounds. But that's not how it's ment to be. When I watch a video or something I need to enable, turn up the sound again and the 'touch sounds' are enabled again.
I tried to check and uncheck the boxes and then rebooting the device but I didn't help. Does anybody have a solution?
Some specs:
Modelnumber: GT-I9100
Android version: 4.0.3
Baseband-version: I9100BULP6
Kernel version: 3.0.15-I9100BULPC-CL332484

Start by backing up data and factory resetting .

Will try that. Will let you know.
Backing up using Kies.. there goes 2 hours of my life. (sh*t program)
Reset to factory setting using the dialpad technique. No success.
Any other suggestions?
Still same ordeal.. boxes are unchecked in the sound setting but 'touch sounds' keep on playing. Irritating.

Hi FundeMentaL,
Last week me and my girlfriend also updated our Samsung Galaxy S II's.
Somehow I couldn't manage to do it by Kies (tried it on 2 different computers, so I agree with your opinion on this program) so I did it OTA.
My girlfriend did it with Kies.
Weird thing is, she got the sounds and I didn't.
I drives her mad and the only thing we can do is turn off all media sounds (not a real solution). Nowhere in the settings I can see what causes this. And I can't replicate this on my phone either. I suspect TouchWiz.
I got android version 4.0.3 and build IML74K.XWLP7. What is your version? (By the way my phone is a UK distribution and I live in NL ).
It might be because I have a different launcher installed. Can you try to install Go Launcher EX and see what happens?

Hey nanopatch,
Sorry for coming back to you a little late. When no one could offer a solution I contacted Samsung. After explaining it to the service guy he said I was the first to report this bug. They adviced me to turn it in so the service center could look at it and fix it.
I upgraded my Galaxy S2 by OTA.
And when I reinstalled it through Kies. Still got the crappy sounds. Idd only option it to turn off all media sounds.
I've got Android 4.0.3 and build number IML74K.BULPC
My Android is all stock and isn't rooted, no launcher installed.
Going to send in my device. Definitely going to take a month to get it back ffs. Really crappy because I'm an app designer :S
Same touch sound problem
Hi,
I have exactly the same problem, can't turn of the touch sounds on my brand new LG Optimus L5, which runs ICS. How was your problem finally solved, if at all?

Hello there
I too have just received this issue after an OTA update to 4.0.3. on my HTC Sensation. It's dreadful.
Any solutions would be welcome, I've not located any on the net at this time.

[Q] Is it just me with keyboard lag?

Ever since i have updated my phone to jelly bean 4.1.1 using kies, i have been experiencing a lot of keyboard lag, i dont know why this is, i have factory reset the phone multiple times but it just keeps doing the same
Also my network signal and wifi just drop randomly, its starting to get on my nerves
why did i update urghh!
I faced the same. Then i installed swiftkey keyboard & the lag disappeared .

Same here. Since I insalled JB I have the same lag. I´ve tried Go keyboard and the same, so I just disabled the popup when you push the keys...

It gets on my nerves, I've disabled everything to do with the stock samsung keyboard except the auto capitalization, i don't want to use a third party keyboard
i have even considered flashing a stock jelly bean ROM such as 'slimbean' but i don't know if this problem still exists in custom ROM's i didn't have this problem with the leaked versions, suppose nothing can be right tbh

[Q] Cannot call

Hello everyone,
This is my first post on XDA. I have recently upgraded my SGS2 to a SGS3 (GT-I9300) and i seem to encounter the same problem i had on the old one. This time around i thought i should try to solve it.
The thing is that my phone sometimes does not start calls and i will explain that a bit. You into contacts for example, swipe from left to right on a contact to call, and it doesn't start the call, but i can't swipe again. If i give it 20 seconds or so.. no matter on what screen i am, the call will start suddenly.... You can see how this can get very frustrating.
Did anyone encounter this?
I am running on stock firmware, tried a few of them actually. Last night i've installed the latest firmware (I9300XXDLJ4) with multi CSC that had ORO in it's CSC list, thought that it might help. I will test today and write the results, but the thing is that i hate this firmware, even if it is jelly bean it is slower than the original ICS it had on it and i also hate the Orange branding.
Best regards,
Nosz

I have the same problem.
Upgraded my Galaxy S2 to 4.1.2 yesterday, and I cannot connect to 3G at all.
My contract is with Orange, I am wondering whether it is some sort of switch to EE issue which the update has brought about? I also think that I accidentally clicked something in a pop-up menu after the update. Like, a pop-up menu with 2 options came up on my screen, but I was just touching something anyway, and automatically selected an option (can't be sure, but think I clicked the option other than "Orange"), that could be the problem?
