I have Samsung galaxy S3 .. I am from Egypt .. last month I have tried to ugrade my firmware using Kies PC ,unfortunately something wentwrong with electricity so the firmware has been bricked .. so I delivered it to the Official Samsung agency and they fix it but to the default software version .. after that I am trying to update firmware to JB - but everytime I follow this steps
setting >> about >> software update >> I got this message :: connecting to the server >> no update available ..
so what I can I do ? ...

I got the Galaxy S2 from UK.
The firmware version is
PDA: I9100XWKE2
PHONE: I9100XXKDJ
CSC : I9100OXXKE2
Build Info: Friday May 6 07:48:55 KST 2011
When i connect to Kies, its says that this is the latest firware. Saw in may threads that KE7 is the latest.
Please help me install without using Odin.
KE 7 has not been rolled out by all providers yet .
Product code defines update ..
You can wait or use Odin .

No...data and settings will not be erased....enjoy...
Thanks guys.. it worked.. Only one problem i find now..
KIES is not detecting the phone..
Is it because i installed the UK firmware in India ??
EDIT: It detects the phone.. But shows,
"This version of the device cannot be updated"
Product code no longer matches firmware on Kies server or their is as of yet no update .

Flash one more time to get your csc replaced with ke7 version.
Where do i get the CSC file from ??

i had an original android version one of my friends told me this is the latest firmware which is ics ( ice cream sandwich ) i have installed it using odin3 and all the installation is perfect no issues the thing is KIES gives me an error when i connect my mobie

i live in kuwait i purchased my device from kuwait so it was arabic enabled . how can i solve this issue and does this mean my device is gone cannot have original firmware on it plz help me

No update contact your phone provider .
Or check KIES .
Not all phones are updated at the same time you don't have your friends phone .
You can take a second opinion from a Samsung forum .

You can wait for your Telco to update your device.

One have you asked Samsung about your phone XDA is not a Samsung update service .
#Two root prevents update .
Three have you tried Kies
Four you can download any current firmware via CHECKFUS and flash via ODIN .

Today in my country some people announced that the new update of Jelly Bean 4.1.2 will arrived to their device through WiFi and some other said that found it with using Samsung Kies , But the other (I one of them ) did not received anything in my device and told me no update available (via WiFi) and This the latest firmware (via Samsung Kies ) so what the reason of this , and is there any problem ? or just wait more few days ?

This is not Samsung ask them when you get an update .
If you bothered to search answer is updates rollout slowly .

That means their is no update for you yet from the phone vendor or the firmware is not original as the phone looks like an import .
Flash a stock firmware via Odin see Indian thread .
