[Q] SGS2 i9105p new model - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi!
I’m looking forward for a new phone and SGS2 i9105p is one of them/ but i had made little research and found out that SGS2 i9100 has problem with modem and connection to network.
unfortunately I did not found this model via search... so I hope you'll help me :silly:
so the question is = is SGS2 i9105p has the same problem or not? it had a new chipset named Broadcom an JB 4.1 so maybe they fix the problem?
and one more question:
Battery life = is it enough capacity for:
3 hours talk time
2 hours of video
2 hours of music
thanks for you help
PS pls move this thread to "Galaxy S II General"

I9100's got modem issues?
You'll get more time than that, check the battery threads for I9100.

[Q] Freezing/loosing signal during calls

Evening guys
I rooted my S2 when i first got it and haven't really touched it since. It's an O2 handset running Baseband version I900XXKE4 and Build Number XWKE7.
My isue is that i'm struggling to make calls on it, pretty much every call i make now the phone call drops out and the phone freezes up for around 20 seconds. Sometimes the persons voice on the other end will stutter like crazy like a stuck record and the bar at the top will turn green.
Has anyone else experienced this? I haven't searched the forum yet so apologies if there is a thread about this...
I'm thinking of flashing it with the latest firmware to see if this remedies the issue, could someone give me a quick nod to the latest firmware for a UK phone? I will head on over to the development forum now but i haven't looked for a while so am hopelessly out of date with it all
Thanks for your help guys and gals
Latest UK = KG7

Thanks mate, should i be looking for XWKG7 in the thread ROM + Guide?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
I can't seem to find it in there? Only XXKG6 which is a frankenstein firmware...
apologies for bumping this but my phone is virtually unusable I cannot make or receive calls with it, every time i try the signal drops out completely like it's in airplane mode (which it is not)
Anyone had this problem?

[q] urgent help needed!

Here is my problem.....I recently got the shw-m250s from korea.
I brought it to canada to use and there were many problems.
My first main concern was that the data was extremely slow.......
Secondly connection was always extremely bad.....
Thirdly sms functions did not work......
So after intense digging on this site.......People had solutions to the first two probelms.....so i tried it install new firmware, install custom firmware.....install new modem.bin files.....etc.etc. the person that i read off of was using the shw-m250k model......which is very simillar to the 250s.
so after about 15 hours of doing many different things.....nothing seemed to work....
so now im asking the forums to help me fix these issues....its extremely stressful and annoying that nothing is working......
Please help me fix these 3 main issues and i will be forever grateful....
lastly....if none of these things solve my issues....well then.....anyone interested in purchasing the m250s? i will restore factory setting and such....selling for decent price....if it comes down to it.

i will try my best
1. slow data? on 3g or wifi? i believe it may be your coverage mate. its not the fastest everywhere mate. if u have chance compare the speed with normal SGS2 in the same area. if its 3g check your APN network provider setup and make some changes that may follow. you can check that in setings-wireless-network--APN
2. conexion extremly bad - again the same apply - u cant compare this model with any other i mean with sgs1. the best way to find out whats the difference will be checking the signal of "real" SGS2.
3. i will recomend you to check Message centre - its inside MSG app - settings it maybe not supported so you will have to enter it manualy mate.
Hint-any APN or message change will need reboot in order to start working mate.
i know its not a big deal but at least i gave you some ideas.
thanks

[FIX] [SOLUTION] Galaxy S2 Echo/Noise Cancellation Problem

Please ignore this, it appears not to work after all, the search continues... Rob
Hi all, I think I have found a software solution to the long suffered echo during calls problem on the Galaxy S2.
Simply install the XXKP1 modem, as far as I can work out from a couple of calls, it eliminates the problem with the noise cancellation. No other bugs detected as yet.
The phoneis a Sim Free GT-I9100 and has had the problem since the day I got it. I am using Checkrom V.4 with Siriah 2.6.7 Kernel on Vodafone UK. I do not use a case and the phone has no hardware mods.
I have attached the relavent file, provided by shahulvm to this post, the same file is available in the shipped modems reference thread in the Original Android Development forum in the fourth post if you prefer it from there.
Sorry if this is repeat information, but I have been searching for a solution to this problem for three months and have not come across this one
Fingers crossed this works for everyone else
Robert

WIFI Madness - Samsung Galaxy S III i9300 (International)

Hello everybody, this is my first post in XDA.
I'm in a dead end with my phone, and after checking the whole forum and of course googling for an answer I can't find, here I am.
I've got a Samsung S3 i9300 (Int) which was functioning perfectly well with Ultima ROM 10.1. Now I tried to move on to 11.0 and found out my WIFI stopped working. Actually, it's able to connect to a non secured network but is unable to cope with wpa2 for instance. For some reason, it tags every network as WPS and fails to connect every time.
Strangely, I tried with a couple of other ROMs (Omega 44.2, Slim, NeatROM) and I have the exact same problem.
But if I move back to CyanogenMod 10.1 or stock, it works perfectly.
Can anyone help me out here?
THANKS!!
I had this exact same problem and banged my head against the wall over it and ended using just wpa, when I get time I'm going to attack the problem again though!

Well yes, but having this amazing phone and having trouble to connect to WIFI on a bar or something... sounds way too un-cool for me!
I hope someone has a solution for this,.. or at least a hint!
Have you tried using custom kernels such as Perseus or Siyah.
The kernel includes the Wifi drivers but not the wpa_supplicant so it should !e easy to pinpoint what causes it.
Also a logcat would be nice.

I had a look at that post, and I've tried most of those without any luck, and the one I haven't tried like an extreme wipe, I'm not willing to. I know it's not flawless logic what I'm going to say, but I think that if it works with some ROMs, it can't be solved by wiping.

S-drive not working, tells me to check the car audio

Hello,
I installed the new svoice and sdrive that was ported from the s4 on my s3. It works fine for most of the time but im having problems connecting the sdrive to my car.
I turn on bluetooth, that connects to my car OEM bluetooth right but when i turn on "drive mode" it says to check the cars audio, even though it works fine with making/receiving calls (and it used to work with a similar function on a htc 8x with windows phone).
Anyone with the same problem?
Does anyone know what it is or if there is a way to fix it?
My s3 is a LTE version ( i9305) running ripper rom with 4.1.2 and my bluetooth an audi OEM bluetooth model.
Thanks

This is I9300 not I9305 Q&A[/QUOTE]
I just noticed that now. I saw SIII Q&A and assumed it was for the s3 in general. If the mods find it better to have this on the i9305 section, please move it and i apologize for the trouble.
Anyway, i don't think it matters in this case if its i9300 ou i9305 since the major difference is RAM and LTE and this seems more like a software issue from android or the svoice/sdrive software.
Yes maybe but i am always wary of users flashing wrong stuff to fix a problem as they are in the wrong forum .
Could be a Ripper rom problem as a lot of these S4 ports are picky as to what they work on .

Yeah, it could be the rom. I actually never had much problems with it and thats why i have been using it for a while.
Other thing happened also and that was that i tried to use s-voice ( not s-drive, just regular svoice), that works fine on wifi but using my carrier internet/data it said that it didn't had a connection. Its strange because browsing pages and other apps work fine. Svoice is not supposed to just work on wifi? It should work on a mobile data plan, right?
