DSP Manager!!!! - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys i dont know if its only me, but some of the builds have the DSP Manager App, but the app doesnt do a thing, is there a setting or something we need to do before we use it?? let me be clear i check the dynamic range compression and put it on extreme and nothing happends also with the bass boost and equalizer and headset virtual room effect.

It only works on Apollo music player.
That's all it works on.
Unless you're on CM7 which the DSP manager will work with anything.

[Q] DSP Manager audio issues

I've used DSP Manager and like it very much but after some time a problem arises. When any sound is produced by the phone through the speaker/headphones, there is always a high pitched sound. In DSP Manager, I've only enabled the equalizer for 'Headset'. The problem goes away after I reboot the phone then after some time it comes back again and only a reboot will solve it. I'm on Elelinux's rom. Is this a rom issue or just an application issue? Is there a fix? Please help me.. I really like the bass DSP Manager gives.
Got the same problem. Gave up on dsp and use mixzing with its in built eq for now

[Q] Louder Volume Hack

Hi, which version of Louder Volume Hack works on Xperia X10 and if there is, How can I apply the codes into my phone .
thanks in advance
It doesn't. You have to install a custom kernel with that particular fix. Loud volume hack wont work on our phones and if u look at the description where you download it it says does not support Sony Ericsson phones. U could try dsp manager though

I have been looking for something to address the same issue. Which froyo or gingerbread roms that are fully working address the volume issue? Also, what is DSP manager, where can I get it, and how does it address the volume problem? Thanks!

dsp manager is a global equalizer for your phone.. its awesome.. made my x10 10x louder.. and in the case of headphones, i actually prefer listening music via x10 rather than my ipod after applying dsp manager.. lol..
you can download the apk from here
if the apk dosent work then try flashing the attached zip file via xrecovery..!!
but make sure you are on a froyo or a gingerbread rom cause it works only on 2.2 and above..

Start DSP manager and choose for example "phone speaker". Tick "Enabled" and raise the equalizers up. I think if you raise up the last 3 bars it will be just fine.
You can do the same for "Headset" and the "Bluetooth device".

Many thanks,
I finally made this work for me
Dsp is the best but I have a question, on a gingerbread rom, thinkin its rendeiro or rdannar's one but not trip, Ive found DSP manager with the bass boost option, since Ive turn it back my phone to froyo, using wolf's rom, DSP manager doesn't have the bass button, wondering if there is different versions of DSP Manager.
Btw im using wolf rom on bb55, stock kernel, x10a, 2.1.0.435 I think

Trying to search for other DSP versions, but couldn't find any other than v.1.0.
The best settings I found for volume/clarity with DSP Manager for the phone speaker is to set values (left to right) at 4.0, 4.5, 5.5, 6.0, 5.5 These setting boost the whole range but keep distortion down on the high and low.

If I (or anyone for that matter!) help you, dont be afraid to press THANKS!
I never set the first higher than two cost the bass distorts too much. The rest I set at 6 tho and it sounds fine. Maybe twice as loud as previously. At least I can hear my phone from my back pocket now lol

Same with me. I played some music on the player, same time i went to DSP and play with the bars. Last 3 up and the first two at about 2 was the best setting and sound clariry.
The settings of the "headset" is other thing though. The bass there is raised more.

Sound Boosting

Hi is there anyway to boost the sound on the I9100
I listen to music a Lott and find the device has lower audio then my old phone..
You can try downloading an app called Equalizer, it's available on the market. Try different music players. For instance try PowerAMP or Player Pro. Get their trial, try and buy them.
I don't think you made this post in the right section.
Actually there's a new app in the market... an update to audio boost sgs which is called audio boost sgs2... used to use the old one on my sgs and here i am using this on my sgs2... it works.. not very specific as to what to boost since it boosts everything( headphone,speakers... all at once) it needs some stability but it works nonetheless ^_^
other than that i tried other apps and nothing made a real difference like this app did... hope u like it
Volume+ Doesn't work for me on MIUI 1.10.21, but should work on the rest.
You can change settings for speakers and headphone individually, along with an equalizer. I bought it.

The difference is just slight, you will see no icons and no other thing because all those things work in the background.

I don't know why would you possibly want DSP Manager, it is not included in the ROM, it must be installed in system in order to work, i have provided a flashable zip if you really want it.
I just tried it by flashing no change displaying. Error on restart as
The application. Dspmanager (Process com.bel.android.dspmanager) has stopped. Unexpectedly. Plz try again
Plz help master

DSP manager should be installed just fine through that zip, maybe it is not compatible with something else like dolby or else, don't know for sure as i can't test
If you really want DSP manager, then you could do a nand backup, wipe everything, factory reset from both Dell Menu and Recovery, flash again DSP and see if it works, after that you can install the things you want.
But the best solution is to abort this ideea and try something else, but my opinion is that you don't need DSP manager as you have a lot of audio processing tools there, xLoud, Beats Audio, Dolby Digital and whatever you have there, so the best thing you can do if you really want an equaliser is to find a Player that has Eq built-in. This is the best i can do for now
√√√√√Yes ur correct master, i hv adopeded method mentioned by you it. Worked but as soon as i hv instaled audio beats again it force closes.
It is clear zat dsp manager & audio beats confilts
By da by master is there any fix for this ???

If beats audio and DSP conflicts, than all you can do is to not install one of them
Your choice of what progra to let down

you know... i think we should only use sound processing on demand like poweramp... not always on for the whole time for the whole application as i think battery consumption would rise since audio processing takes cpu times more or less...
last time i use dsp but i dont think whats the point of using it if it consumes battery because audio processing is always on... so i give up on it and use on demand audio processing like poweramp that have built-in equalizer and such and it sounds nice to the ear also

Well, all those sound precessing apps like Beats Audio, are working only when some sound is out of the speaker, you can hear if you play a song and then stop it some faded sound coming from the speaker then it stops, it's simple as that, if it's not used it stops, battery saved.
However, i experienced some problems with the sound not stopping and needed to reboot in order to stop it, this kind of problem i had using skype and when playing music on headphones and removing the headphones with the music still playing. But the problems where quite rare i can say.
Yes master its so rare, once i had with longhorn 2.9.1 rom

[Q] CM9 Very Low Volume

After installing the latest CM9 built on my P7510 I noticed that the sound coming from either the speakers or the headphones is very low compared to the official ICS ROM. I tried to adjust it with the DSP Manager but I cannot bring it to the levels of the official ROM. This is a problem particularly when watching movies because even at maximum level the audio is low. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is the a fix? I use pershoot`s CM9 built of 29/09/20212.

lol ...... I have the opposite problem for ganbarou v1.0 as the volume seems to be too high even when I have it at lowest with my headphones which is why I use vodoo sound to decrese the sound while I listen to music. U an use vodoo sound to bring up the sound too beyond default Max ....... so yeah, just install it from play store and give it a try!

I've used an app called Volume+ but it distorts the sound. As for Voodoo, it says that the kernel should have a patch which allows its use but I am not sure if the kernel in CM9 supports that.

OK, I installed the Voodoo volume app and I managed to get a proper sound level. The strange thing though is that the DSP Manager already has this functionality installed but it does not affect the sound. The standalone app however works properly.
