Asus tf300t all messed up ! HELP - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone,
I have a weird problem ! I had root access on my asus tf300t but I lost it with the JB update.
Then I decided to get it back and install cyanogen.
It happened that I had some issues doing it !
I first unlock the tablet with the asus utility and then I wasn't able to use adb commands. I tried many ways and the only problem > my cmd wasn't in admin.
Using commands in the same time on my tablet and by adb commands, the CWM recovery installed itself but nothing works on it. On every command I attempt to do, "can't mount", "can't open"...
At this point, fastboot mode did not show up like before, I tried to use adb command from the icon selection after pressing power + vol down and I flashed again CWM.
Now, CWM doesn't exist anymore ! (however cmd said the flash worked)
I don't want to try anything else before your advices !
FYI : the tablet works !

I installed twrp recovery which work but it ask me password when he launch but I can skip it.
Into the recovey, there isn't any file like my internal or external cards were empty so it is impossible to install superuser or new ROM.
Even when I use the apk terminal, it won't install anything and write "no found" !
If someone would give me any tips ...
Thanks in advance

I haven't used TWRP I use cwm but it too should have mounts and storage option try to mount sd card from there

E: Unable to mount SD card
The problem seems to be common with the different way > my tablet doesn't recognise my internal storage !
Fortunately I can check the content with a file explorer but neither adb command, terminal, CWM, TWRP work.

[Q] SGSII Stuck on reboot - couldn't find external SD on CWM

Hi I was on the last step of installing Cyanogen Nighly build 116 on my SGS2 and got to step 7 of the guide on their wiki
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_II:_Full_Update_Guide
but I couldnt find my external SD card on Clockwork mod recovery. I tried to reboot back to my normal samsung OS so I could use USB to put the 2 update zip files on my internal storage but the phone is now boot looping. I boot up to the samsung logo then the phone restarts.
What do I do please?
Hi again,
I have tried booting in download mode which does nothing but show me the android man withthe word Downloading... underneath (VolDown, Home, Power). I have tried booting back to Clockwork Mod recovery (VolUp, Home, Power) and I have tried messing around with adb to see if it sees any devices- which it does, it sees
304D19A75555E24E
but it doesnt accept adb push update.zip I guess because the phone is busy rebooting :S
My guess would be you've installed a different version of CWM recovery. Choose "Install zip from internal Sdcard" instead.

Hi
It says Clockwork Mod Recovery v4.0.1.4
It doesnt have an option other than install zip from sdcard
and it doesnt see the external sd card either.
I have
- reboot system now
- apply update from sdcard
- wipedata/factory reset
- wipe cache partitions
- install zip from sdcard
- backup and restore
- mounts and storage
- advanced
- power off
I chose install zip from sd card
then chose zip from sdcard
and I get the internal listing of files on the internal phone storage but no access to the external sd card. There is a folder there called, external_sd but when I select it, it just says No files found. It shows this when the sd card is inserted and uninserted though.
Do you know any way I can put the update files on the internal phone memory from my PC? I have adb installed and the android sdk. but adb wont push files to the phone. I used to know a way to boot the phone with fastboot but dont remember how to do that any more
You need to tell it where to save the file if you're going to do adb push, i.e. adb push update.zip /sdcard/cm7.zip, but you might need to mount somewhere to store it in mounts and storage first for it to work.

ah but I cant get it to boot so I cant get it to mount. The closest I can get is getting adb to recognise it as a device while it is bootlooping (it only gets up to the Samsung logo then reboots)
I did try "adb push update.zip /sdcard/cm7.zip"
failed to copy 'update.zip' to 'sdcard/cm7.zip' : Read-only file system
The phone is still rebooting over and over. Out of curiosity, would CWM not give the option to install zip from the external sd card if the phone didnt have root?
I bought this phone from a friend and he said the phone did have root but I actually am not sure if it does. Would that also cause me not to be able to use adb to push the file because the internal sd card was read only?
Either way - how do I get the phone back to a usable state please?
I mean from within CWM recovery, which you said you can access (ADB should work there after 30 seconds or so).

booted to CWM - waiting for pc to notice phone exists so I can use adb...
... nothing is happening. (tried using mount usb storage too)
EDIT1: I rebooted CWM and when it came back - tada - windows noticed it. Ran the ADB command and the copy has worked over 36s.
Watch this space...
EDIT2: Got the phone to finally let me upload update.zip (the 116 nightly build from cyanogen) and gapps (for cyanogen7) using the mount option under Clockwork Mod recovery
installed update.zip
installed gapps.zip
rebooted and...

nothing is happening, the phone doesnt boot... but CWM has changed colour to a pretty blue and I am now on v5.0.2.7. What am I meant to do next? I ran out of steps on http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_II:_Full_Update_Guide
Flash the update twice in succession, if the first one was quick.

yes your right, it was quick. I flashed it again - much slower this time and it seems to be working - I finally got off the stuck screen. Currently watching the new cyanogen mod 7 boot screen.
Big thanksometer - if your anywhere near me i'd buy you a coffee.

[Q]

I think I stupidly posted this in the General forum, so hopefully I'll have better luck here. Here's what I wrote before:
Hi, I'm trying to unbrick USB on my Atrix using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=751265 but every time I try and use the fastboot command 'fastboot oem enableqxdm 0' I get 'FAILED error:00120000'.
I am really tearing my hair out! failing this, would flashing via fastboot fix this error? I tried reflashing using fastboot with the CM9 ROM I had handy but adb didn't like it (my installation is borked you see, I can get into recovery but can't reflash the ROM 'cause my sc cards can't be read...so I'm in a bit of a vicious circle here).
If anyone can help I would be so grateful.
Which recovery are you using atm?
Hey,
I'm using ROM Racers custom ROM, from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1204500
Would that make a difference?
That's a recovery, not a ROM. derp
Just messing with ya. But if you have Romracer's recovery you should be able to mount your storage from within recovery. There should be a "mounts & storage" option in the menu. That should allow your computer to read the card and/or internal as usb storage. Or, if you have a card reader you can put the necessary files on your sd card that way.

Yeah thanks but I know this...Ok, here is my problem: I can't mount the internal or external card in recovery, it comes up with ERROR: can't mount / emmc and Error: can't mount / sdcard . I can't mount either card on the PC either and as described in trying to fix the USB connectivity it comes up with the 0x120000 described above in fastboot. On top of that the installation of my ROM is borked (which was Jokersax's ICS beta but I have several others on file I could use)...so I can't reflash the handset. ALL I can do is get into recovery - and a fat lot of good that is doing me!
On top of all that, the reason I ended up like this seemed to be when I erased the internal memory card from my Mac...and this was out of pure frustration fro the mysterious random reboot issue, for which I'd tried almost everything else. But one step at a time eh?
So if anyone can help I'd be really glad right now...
Do you have a card reader? Have you tried formatting the sd card (either through recovery or through the computer using "mounts & storage")? Do you have another sd card that you can try?
Can you be more specific as well? When exactly are you getting the "error" and have you tried "mount usb storage" option in "mounts & storage"? Do you only have a Mac or do you have access to a Windows computer?

Ok, I cannot mount the sd card in any way, either through recovery or on the PC.* the SD card is fine as it the phone registered the card as empty (and read the empty card fine) until it started refusing to read anything at all.* Mount USB storage option definitely does not work (it was working and then it stopped)
*
The error comes from trying the USB unbrick solution (link in my original post at the top)...in fastboot I am trying 'fastboot oem enableqxdm 0' and then in red writing the ERROR 0x120000 (or whatever it was, it's above) appears on the screen of the Atrix and in the command line box on the PC (I am using my windows 7 laptop for all this btw, don't want to confuse you with my mentioning of the Mac above).
*
So...I either need a way to flash from Fastboot so I can get a working system again at least AND/OR I need to fix the USB connectivity (so I can mount the internal/external card on my PC) and fix the mounting in the Atrix itself.* If I can fix the mounting issue (both mounting within Recovery and mounting on the PC) I can then reflash (and use my SD cards again).
*
Any ideas?
I would think reflashing a newer recovery fron fastboot might help you with your problem if your current recovery is borked. (CWM 5.8.1.8 maybe?)
Ok, so I have installed the CMW touch recovery over fastboot...and I can now mount the external SD card. I have also managed to erase the external SD card using fastboot (fastboot erase sdcard) but the phone still can't see it. The internal memory is untouchable either through recovery or fastboot

Try a fastboot -w command and flash a new ROM from the external see if it works. It would be easier if we knew what caused you to have this problem...
Right, some good news...I have managed to partition my SD card from recovery (only to 4 gigs though but it's a start...), managed to put my and now I am rebooting as I type...although it's taking a long time to reboot...
Maybe I should do a fastboot -w first

Yeah it's still not booting, even though I installed the rom from recovery.
Thinking back my troubles started when a) I wiped both the internal and external to fat 32 from my Mac and then b) I converted all file systems to ext4 from the advanced menu. Yeah, that may be it...

So...in order to fix this, can I simply reformat from a Linux box?

to be honest... no clue. I really never thought of messing with the partitions like that.

[Q] my S3 (international) isn't able to start(boot)

Hei guys
I've a problem i made a backup in recovery mode ( using CWM-based Recovery v5.5.0.4. :: CF-v1.5), the backup failed and now is my internal sdcard full. As you read in the title my s3 doesn't boot anymore. I tried to install diffrent roms and the stocked rom is well but none of them were able to boot it. I also tried this turtorial (rootgalaxys3iii.com/galaxy-s3-stuck-at-boot/) it didn't work. :crying:
I'm pretty sure it's because the internal storage is full.
pls does anyone have any suggestions ?
is it possible to wipe the internal storage in recovery or to get accsess to the storage be for android is running ?
1. Download & instal Windows PC programs "Android Commander"
2. Boot into CWM Recovery
3. Connect to PC USB & allow/edit for any drivers to instal
4. Run Android Commander
5. You may need to mount the partitions first in CWM recovery / mounts and storage
6. Navigate to internal sdcard, delete what you need to
7. Exit program, connect USB and reboot
8. All else fails, wipe cache/Dalvik, format system and reflash ROM.
Hope this helps

Please help stuck at splashscreen

Hello, i've installed the twrp recovery from venom , also tryed the cwm recovery , and i can't mount the sd card to copy the rom on the sd. I mean , i have wiped everything.. what i need to do?
Up please i need the phone
are you stuck in splash screen? or, can you access to recovery? or you just can not flash anything because you deleted all your data (including the rom)?
if you can access to recovery, but you don't have any file to flash, you could try DROID EXPLORER, (I can not remember if i use droid explorer in fastboot or in recovery) in any case, you could use droid explorer to copy your rom to your phone to flash it...
It happened to me, because a skin of TWRP changes the buttons and then... I clear all my data XD

You can't mount sdcard in recovery (yet) because there is no real sdcard on this phone. The virtual sd card is just a folder called media on your data partition (/data/media). You will have to install TWRP and use adb sideload command to get the rom onto your phone. There's are two tutorials in the One X+ General forum with everything you need to know about unlocking/rooting/flashing on this phone. One of them also contains a section for ADB Sideload command, shouldn't be that hard to find.
But i recommend you to completely read both guides to avoid further problems.
And don't forget to press the Thanks button for the guys who made these tutorials!!!
Flash the latest recovery compatible with your device using fastboot command...
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Where "boot.img" is type where the location of the boot.img is.

[Q] HTC One bricked

So I tried installing ARHD 11 (from 9.2) and apparently it did some weird thing where the sdcard will now mount somewhere else. I could see my original sdcard from CWM recovery, but a different location when I view the sdcard from my computer.
In short, I have no ended up with no ROM (completely formatted) and nothing on my sdcard. I tried "mount sdcard" from "mount and storage", but it does not read on the computer (I've actually never been able to get this to work). Also tried using the toolkit, but it does not see the device. I just need some way to get files onto the sd card through recovery.
Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT: fixed via adb push
Same here
I've been stuck with this problem for over a week now, spending hours searching. Nothing comes up,
