[Q] Tethering won't work unless ad-hoc on JB - HTC Rezound

On the most recent unofficial CM10.1 build. Had no problems with wifi tethering until last week - now I can't get the built-in to work and I can only get ad-hoc tethering on Wifi Tether.
My computer recognizes the ID of the wireless network on the built-in tether, but refuses to connect to it; on Wifi Tether the only way I can get it to work is on ad-hoc (computer won't even pick up broadcast name on any other type of network).
I've tried several different things (reinstalling ROMs both dirty and clean, factory reset) and nothing works. Help?

[Q] Barnacle WiFi tether from phone to A70

just received my A70, installed GApps and a few programs through the file viewer after transferring via USB.
Then, I wanted to download a few apps from the market...
I got Barnacle setup on my X10, and my laptops can both see the new WiFi network created by it, but the Archos can't
Has anyone tethered using this method before?
If so, I think I am using the wrong channel to connect, but can anyone advise which WiFi channel the A70 would require??
I can pick up other WiFi networks, but can't actually connect to them due to restrictions on the routers (I'm at work, they require MAC addresses and for some reason wont let me add this to the network )
Try any channel below 11. It's a known kernel issue.
if it creates an AD-HOC connection, then that's the issue.
Aha, yes it does. Damn
I'll have to try the proper tethering method then using the cell phone tether option (which I briefly tried but failed to connect through bluetooth)
Try "Wireless Tether for root users" with it's bluetooth option. Works for me Have the tether activated on the phone while pairing it with the Archos though.

[Q] Working Rom and Kernal combo for wireless tether?

Currently running Super Clean 2.8 and wireless tether does not work. Is there a working combo that will work? Some one suggested this but it did not work either. http://code.google.com/p/android-wi...ame=wireless_tether_2_0_7.apk&can=2&q=Generic
I just tested this (android wifi tether) on SC2.8 and it works fine. I think even the 3G Mobile Hotspot is supposed to work.
At what point does it fail?
Every device I have attempted to connect fails to see the device in the list of wifi connections. I've tryed with no security or encryption but my phone still doesn't show up in the list wifi connections.

WIFI tethering / Hotspot comes with limited acesses?

I have been trying to connect my SGS2 internet to the PC using wirless hotspot, but all the time it shows limited accesses on my PC and no way i can connect to internet? If anyone know the solution, Please let me know?
I am on stock ROM rooted with CF root!
I have a similar problem with limited access. Usually I manually switch (I have a wifi on/off switch) my laptops wifi off and on again and it usually fixes the problem.
The wifi hotspot does give me problems when trying to connect to all versions of Windows and Linux. Am hoping to find a solution by searching through these forums.

Tethering Ipad to GS3

I can not get my ipad to connect to my GS3's hotspot. It will see it, I key in the wpa key and it doesn't connect.
It will tether via bluetooth but I would like to get it running on the wi-fi hotspot. Any help would be appreciated.
Try changing the security settings for starts.
Disable the WiFi security (aka open network), and try to connect, if it works start from there, it's most likely just a protocol issue.
If nothing works check to make sure you can connect with a different device (laptop), if that doesn't work try a different tethering app.
What are you using to wifi tether....FoxFi?

WLAN And Tether?

Well I've tried apps. Currently rooted and running a slimmed down ROM and using WiFi Tether Router because it just works flawless. However is there a way for the tether device to be seen on the same network its sharing? I like to connect my phone to my PC via WiFi for lots of reasons.
Possible?
