[Q] Low signal on aosp / aokp / pa / cm JB roms GSM - HTC EVO 3D

Low signal when i install AOSP / AOKP / PA / CM roms on EVO 3d GSM(0-1) bar. But when I revert back to sense based roms I get 3-5 Bars of signal.
Device : Evo 3d gsm
Radio : 11.77.3504.00P_11.25.3504.06_M
HBoot : 1.49.1107 s-off
Recovery : 4ext recovery, TWRP

You ain't the only one .I'm a CDMA user with cm/AOKP/PAC/aosp installed. Also low bars signal..

That may not mean your getting worse reception...it depends on how the systemui is compiled...signal bars are nothing but a reference
Point is you could actually make it look like your getting 5 bars, and really have ****ty reception...

Right. You need to use a signal meter app that gives the signal strength in dBm to see if they are comparable.

ICS Beta signal degredation

Does anyone know why or how to correct the issue? I've loaded CM9 on my mopho and i get less signal everywhere i go now. I've reverted back to CM7 until i can find some sort of answer to this
Compare the dbm values of your signal instead of bars. Bars can be very misleading.

^This. The stock Rom on the Photon is extremely misleading with its service bars. People compare just bars next to an Evo and think they have an amazing phone that gets crazy reception, while in reality if you look at dbm values it is quite comparable.. I know our build of CM9 has a more legitimate signal bars reading, as in more so comparable to other phones as compared to stock where Motorola/Sprint tried to pull a fast one with the bars to essentially screw over unsuspecting people by leading them to believe that the phone gets massively better signal.

Anyone vetting bad signal on internationalstock rooted Rom?

Ok not getting the best signal now is anyone else running this on a att Rom and not getting good signal? Is there a radio to flash?

are you just talking bars?
What are your dB numbers?
I usually have a couple bars in doors at my house.

I'm on stock 1.26.xx.12 I have 3 bars and -101
are you dropping calls? what's your data speed like?
Not dropping calls but data seems slow. Do I need to play with the apns?

its because the stock rom is not showing your real reception. this is a known issue but its not really an issue its just cosmetic. stock carrier roms show higher signal even though your signal isnt really that high.

this is correct ..we were just discussing this in another thread ... the lack of bars is only cosmetic and your most likely getting the same signal you always did. It just reads different

Poor signal area affecting 4.2.2 ROM more than sense

When I'm at work, on a sense ROM, I usually have 3 or 4 bars of service in 3g. However, on 4.2.2 ROMs, I get 1 to 2 bars and on some I get no signal at all. Why is this and can I do anything to fix it? It seems like anything other than official cyanogen ROMs, I barely get any signal.

Yup its a problem for me too. Most of the time its fine but if I'm in a fringe area my service stinks compared to sense. I don't know of any solutions but it really isn't a deal breaker for me

How do u know if u get 3-4 bars of 3g on sense? The only way to tell is via DBm. Besides all bars have different dBm limits across sense/tw/aosp. Only way to see if u get less 3g signal is via DBm on sense and aosp

What he said
I have the exact same issue and while, no, I haven't confirmed the ACTUAL signal strength, there is an OBVIOUS difference in performance. Anecdotal evidence, yes, but I'm in the same places day in and day out and the results are easily repeated over and over. I have no idea what the issue is, either.
Viper rom I get -105 while sitting in my living room. Any 4.2.2 rom with the new kernel I get -130 in the exact same spot.

Signal strength carbon room

Got a question I flashed the latest carbon rom and I am getting less then normal 4g signal strength anything I can do to get better signal. What if I flash a new radio? And if so what radio? I heard that custom rooms use lte4g13 and stock used lte14 is that true?
Thanks Amy help would be grateful.

The radio more depends on the towers in your area and yes the ril. Ive noted on most custom ports the signal strength is usually weaker than stock. But overall this is a problem with Sammy antennae. Most other companies get way better signal than Samsung.

[Q] lte reception problems with roms.

Question about the cellular reception. every time i either flash a ge rom, or any rom besides a modified, or stock 4.3 sense rom, my lte goes down to 1 bar where i would usually get 4 or full bars, and also seem to some times go to 2 bars, but then goes down to hspa+ and then goes back to lte, but never more than one bar. and speeds goes down too, like edge speeds.
I've tried flashing radios, firmwares and even tried changing the sku_id to 11 in sense rooms but nothing works. I wanna update to a 4.4 rom, specially a stock or ge rom, but every rom i try gives me the same problem :/
any ideas? ive been trying to look for solutions for a while and i'm about to give up
Anyone?
