[Q] Ad-Hoc Fix in JB 4.1.2 [Somebody HELP ME!] - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hello everybody, today I updated my RAZR XT912 to Official JB 4.1.2... Unfortunately I saw that I can't connet (even I can't see) Ad-hoc connections, that's really important to me, Im using my phone everyday at work with a Lapdock 100 and that's my only way to connect to the intenet because my wifi controller don't support AP-Mode (NO Connectify etc...). I'm really tired to search for a solution related and maybe the fix is around the "wpa-supplicant" but I didn't saw any particular solution for the RAZR.....
So, CAN SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!

internet sharing

Hallo, I just bought a x10. This is my first android phone. I wonder if this phone supports internet sharing or if there is any application on android OS that would allow to share internet with thru the phone.
thank you
Easy tether and pdanet do this over usb. Search the android marketplace on your phone for these apps or search for "tethering" for wifi sharing.
thank you very much
ive tried these and cant get these apps to work for some reason can someone lend me a hand?
What does not work. We would be happy to help you, please provide a little more information as to what doesn't work. Got an error message?
If you prefer is there a wifi option.
You can do tether with your X10 using Barnacle.
Set rmnet0 as WAN password and athwlan0 as LAN one.
Bye

I installed Barnacle in my x10,and I can not connect x8 to my x10. Is there something missing.according to the explanation, it depends on the os like win7,xp,iphone,ipad,etc. Does it mean no chance for android? Or may be need another app to be installed in client device?
Thanks.

android natively does not have the ability to connect to ad-hoc networks. thats why ur x8 cannot connect to the x10..
it is possible only after editing the wifi.sh in the x8.. i dont rem exactly what to edit but a quick search on the forum should get u the answer..

I can confirm that the only app that works for tethering is Barnale Wifi Legacy (you can find it in your Market).
I tried both legacy and norm, with 'wlan0' interface and channel 11(saw somewhere else it is preferred)
Is it possible to make it work in 2.1, like in 1.6?
Or is it possible to compile the netfilter module for 2.1?

[Q] HD2 6.5 Wi-Fi tethering with android tablet

Hi All,
I running the stock wm6.5 HD2 rom from t-mobile.
I have just bought a Arnova 10 G2 (cheap from hmv) and would like to use my phone wi-fi hotspot to get online. The problem I have is, the tablet does not recognise WEP encryption.
Can someone tell me the easiest way I can get online using my phone?
I have done several searches and a few people discuss similar issues and talk about writing and adding code. I do not know how to do this as I'm a middle aged fat bloke with no understanding of such things.
I have read a lot about flashing the phone to make it android, would this help or is there a simpler way?
Thanks in advance
CJ
Problem is not your WM6.5 HD2.
Problem is Android has ****e standard connectivity & does not have ad-hoc support as standard.
You will have to find an ad-hoc fix for the Tablet.
WM6.5 conectivity for tethering in both directions is faultless & can be achieved via wifi/BT/USB

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
I'm not sure how to find a ad-hoc fix for the tablet. I've looked for wi-fi apps to find one that will recognise WEP w-fi.
there are a few out there but they find the phone but do not allow connection. as when you try to connect it takes you back to the tablet software.
thanks again for your help.
i have the same problem ... HD2 WM.6.5 and ARCHOS 70 INTERNET
do you found a solution??

The only way I've found is to replace the wpa supplicant file, and it will require root access. I can't seem to attach files from my View. I got the file in the Dell Streak forum - search for wpa_supplicant. The one I have is for gb.
Sent from my HTC View in LALA land.
EDIT: OK, back on my PC, and here is the thread with the file:

Hello, I've got the same tablet and tethering works with my htchd2. Wifi routing does not work, I was not able to create a PAN network with my HTC HD2, and was not able to see a DUN network on my tablet. (or is it the other way round ?)
But tethering, using my 3G connection works. I sometimes need to reboot the tablet.

[Q] Help! Xperia mini pro

I have looked around and have found no solution for this.
Hi everyone, I have recently bought an xperia mini pro and I love this phone, I really fell in love with it.
But, I cant seem to get stable wifi connections, the connections keep disappearing or in one second the conection is strong and then becomes to weak.
Also, I cant connect to my home internet!
My SSID doesn't even appear on the list of available networks!
This seems to be a recurrent problem because I switched the phone for a new one and the problem prevails.
I know its not the router cause I could connect with my old phone with no problems at all. I tried wifi keep alive and other stability apps but with no success...
The phone is updated to Android 2.3.4.
Can anyone help please??
If anyone has the solution it must be you guys!
Thank you!
about the ssid, i had that problem on my home. i change and add the mac adress of my sk17a to the router and that fix the problem. try that.

[Q] [Xperia P] Wifi Portable Hotspot not working after JB update?

Hi people,
I recently upgraded my SXP from rooted ICS 6.1.1.B.1.75 to Pre-rooted JB 6.2.A.0.400 ( found thanks to this thread ).
Everything went well, and the new version seemed to work, until i realized that the Wifi Hotspot function isn't working anymore (i used it everyday on ICS).
Also, tethering via Bluetooth doesn't seem to work.
My SXP wifi network is seen and I can connect onto it, but then nothing happens and there's no way to use the phone's data connection from a remote device.
I installed the 'WiFi Tether' app from Google play to give it a try, and the same thing happens.
However, this app gives me more detail and i can see what steps precisely block the connection, here is a screen of the error log : http://i.imgur.com/5ZhAAoF.png
Hopefully this'll help.
Has anyone run into the same issue? Can anyone confirm that the Portable Hotspot function still works on JB for Xperia P ?
It'd be kind of a shame to have to roll-back to ICS because of this....
Many thanks in advance for your help!

I've recently rooted my xperia play and found my wi-fi hotspot doesn't work. I've downloaded wi-fi tether apps but it doesn't seem to be connecting to the internet, it reads my connection but no access to internet.
Has anyone found a solution to this?
Thanks in advance
