Fail, got a can't open error. Noticed the updater script has the 'assert(getprop...)' list in the beginning of it. My Mez doesn't like that part for some reason and I always have to open the script and delete that section up to where it says 'package_extract_file.....' and repackage before I can flash.... I love to hate my phone sometimes lol
Well even after editing the updater script, it still failed on me. Just crashed and said 'can't open, bad'......

Seems you may have repackaged it incorrectly or removed something important in the script

Nah, it's turning out to be a download error. I'm at work and can't connect straight to my PC so I have to upload it to box and then download it to my phone but for some reason it's not downloading on my phone right, it get's to like 15-20mb and then just says it's done..... I don't think it knows how to count lol
Guess I'll have to wait till I get home and start fresh.

Yeah I can't get nothing but stock ui working the rest don't affect it but per app DPI works just off centered not my fault pa said it was theirs. I did have a downgrade zip with the per app DPI was centered but tablet ui and such won't leave stock ui.

All issues has been resolved it was a simple mistake if you do flash 2013 gapps everything will work correctly except the pa prefs when you choose per app dpi it doesnt fit the screen. No worries I made a pa prefs downgrade zip it came from my pac-man rom. So yes everything is working now I have included the pa zip in my thread.
Very very smooth no lag so far. I plan on adding some more aokp its seeming like PAC man to me and I want to stray away from that even though I didn't create the ROM.

You can Odin to stock its in the development section and Odin cwm4 fix for cm7 then flash a jb ROM of your choice

ROM based on CM9 source. I pulled the ROM right before my hard drive crashed with cm9/aokp repos so it may be a few days till I can get an update out. Test the ROM out and let me know what is wrong other than the usual AOSP things. Make sure you download the GAPPS that is listed below the ROM download to make sure GAPPS works in hybrid/tablet mode.
ROM is based off of CM9 and source can be found on Gitub
-Stock lockscreen sometimes causes an error. This is being looked into. Some say they have these problems and others say they don't. I did but I just disabled the stock lockscreen in security settings.

I'm not sure if there is a data outage in my area or what but I can't seem to get data to work at all. I could have sworn that when I was first testing this, I was messing around on the market place just to check out hybrid mode and I had a signal. Data was working on the CM9 compile that I based this off of as well. I have to get some sleep for the night but report back about data and I'll check in the morning.

The ROM itself was stupid easy to port, just take a CM base and add in the paranoid tweaks and some framework stuffs. For some reason I still don't get working data with this, not even 1x. I think in the process of moving some framework files around, I got rid of Chad's RIL fix somehow.
I pulled the DL link because I got two users who told me that they were experiencing boot loops. I have had no problems with boot loops so maybe it was just a bad upload. When I get home tonight I will definitely reupload the ROM.
If you'd like, you should still work toward Paranoid. As far as porting goes, this would probably be the easiest ROM to learn on. There are some great tutorials of what you need to decompile and what framework files you need to edit on the nexus Paranoid thread. I am new to this as well, but feel free to PM me and we can collaborate our efforts!

I re-uploaded the ROM. I reflashed to make sure I wasn't having bootloop issues and I'm still not having issues. May have just been a bad upload. Data still is a WIP. CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. Something else. Newer. Vers 6.0.1.5. I have flashed MIUI, CM10, and AOKP with it now....worked perfectly for it
Theme is just an example of one that is in the market (Cobalt)
If 10.10 is 4.1.2, then I would say yes. If it's still 4.1.1,then no, you would need to wipe all....just to be safe. I forgot which version of android 10.10 is...LOL

ROMOptions is just for CDMA/GSM or storage setting. Options chooser is for other options including apps...

Okay, definitely checking out your recovery then. I really prefer TWRP (bunch of reasons, not just the touch) but if one works better than the other for some ROMs, no reason I can't go back and forth.
Kind of waiting for CNA (I know you're waiting on the dev) but CM10 10/10 is rock solid. And it's 4.1.2, I believe it was your first 4.1.2.
I knew you had a thing for Cobalt, but I'd only seen the red one. I just got one called "Elegant Green", it's okay but wasn't really what I was after. I might have to learn to theme and make my own, or just get ROM Toolbox. The default CM theme is fine, I'd just change all the cyan to a shade of green (I'm kinda bad with hex, but around #00DD30 is what I like).

Dirty flashed 10/28 over 10/10 (both JB 4.1.2 ROMs), everything seems to be in order. Data works, su works. (10/10 had been flashed clean after a "wipe all".)
Finally took your theme advice and installed Cobalt... Kiwi Cobalt. It's his green one. It's the best green theme I've used. I'm seeing a lot of elements from Mixer (or maybe Mixer borrowed from Cobalt) so it's not at all unfamiliar. Now I just need a nice dark brushed-metal wallpaper (currently on the one in the first screenshot) to complete my black-on-green look. Might also alter the wallpaper to have a green Cid instead of cyan (can one simply extract a wallpaper out of a wallpapers chooser pack like that?).
How come no real progress is being done with battery life? I'm running Bills's and Jokers roms from the beginning, I'm using GSM and I barely have any apps, I have only one google account synced and I barely get 8 hours if I don't use the phone at all, I thought it was related to the KDDI modem so I flashed back to stock, I now have the n_01.28.05s.fk modem and still same battery life.
Will the new drivers/kernel improve battery life? is any of Bills other JB roms (aokp, CNA, Paranoid) better optimized for battery life?

Gapps for OctOS ROM
Will be posted tomorrow.
Instructions:
Download the ROM
Download the gapps listed (others will break hotseat, superuser, and camera)
Reboot to recovery
Make a backup
Wipe device/factory reset && for extra insurance do the following
Wipe each partition separately(system, cache, dalvik, preload)
Install ROM
Install Gapps
Wipe dalvik and cache
Reboot
Our source is no longer the same as these releases.
AOSP Source used as base(which in current form may or may not boot if you try to build from source, because it is constantly updating)

You need to use 4.3 gapps. I built my own from PA gapps.

*Books, Maps, and Play Services all need updated in first boot. But if you can't find 4.3 gapps then these should work for you.
**Also mine doesn't check to see if you're on the approved list for photosphere. It just installs it.

Well using goo manager it'd find them for my phone so that'd be 4.2 gapps correct?
I went to broodplanks github and couldn't find the 4.3 gapps. I just downloaded yours are they super modified or jusr for photosphere? I'd highly appreciate if someone could link me to the s4 international bone stock 4.3 gapps.

Yeah you need ANY 4.3 gapps. Not 4.2. It doesn't matter where you get them, or how you get them, just that you get them. All Gapps packages that aren't said to be themed, modded, or toggle enabled are the same as the next. The difference is in how up to date the gapps are, and what all they include.
Minimal gapps will only include calendar, clock, contacts, gmail, hangouts, and the Google framework. Full gapps will have almost everything Google makes.
Oh and gapps aren't device specific. Mine aren't modded that I know of. Play store might be spoofed so you can run any DPI but I'm not sure of that. I just know paranoid builds off of crazy ui and DPI control so it would make sense

Running like a champ! Gonna flash ktoonz kernel right now and see how much speed I can get. The only thing not working is Bluetooth as posted above. Everything else is pure butter.

Good to hear, will flash and try elite kernel to start.
But of course there is another bug lol. When taking a HDR photo with the camera it is all grayed out. When installing a new kernel the GPU overlays get all messed up and I disabled them, which fixed the problem.

It could be the photosphere I decided to use. I had a choice of 6 different sizes photospheres. Unless you didn't use my gapps.
But my gapps grays out on HDR too

My HDR doesn't work as well. Using your gapps.
Also (maybe a 4.3 specific problem and NOT a bug) but I can't switch superuser apps.
Works flawlessly. Hopefully you continue to build upon it and add some mods and tweaks. This rom is great!!!

It's not a bug. Rooting in and of itself is a pita on 4.3. Changing superuser apps isn't going to be as easy as uninstall and install new.

Yep...pita now. I keep a copy of a chainfire supersu zip on my grouper n7 just in case it flakes. Will be trying this when I get back from my business trip next week.

I think its a port from the n7000 to our device. check out the original thread its a cm10.2 base with the sgt7 features added to it, looks clean. Somebody try it and report back.

So i went ahead and installed it. Installation went well. Don`t know any bugs yet but i can confirm that it did not brick on me. Network picked up really fast. Did a clean flash.

Its downloading as what seems to be an incomplete .bin file, so I tried using a mobile iso extractor,nothing...zilch...got an error...Also the download server is Russian so even using Google translate doesn't translate the page..I clicked on every available link and it just lead to other Russian sites...if OP doesn't mind,can someone upload to a different mirror

The updater script checks out with correct mount points, with the get.prop and the build.prop set up for I717. Definitely legit. I have run an SGT7 port on my Kindle, that and androidslave has a good rep, so I just might have to give this a run.

Yes, it would not hurt to get feedback on the
OK guys. Been running it awhile. Its what it says it is cm10.2. Its smooth and fast. Has most bells and whistles pie halo gestures etc. No FC or anything seems stable enough. Data and signal are fine. Messaging works fine. Nothing wrong with it that I can see. Hope this helps

Would love to download and give feedback as I am in the market for trying out a new 4.3 based rom. I have recently started having issues with stability that I think may be related to recovery.
I was happily using carbon with an older version of TWRP (not that old, just not the latest which some were claiming to have issues with). I would update every few nightlies until I started having issues with apps spontaneously closing ( which I now believe to be a known issue within the rom).
I switched to BFs version of CWM and am currently using one of Patch adams roms with the latest UBER. I am having some minor issues that I would like to see hopefully rectified in another ROM...perhaps this one?
My question, before I download, is....Which recovery are you guys using and are you trying this rom with the native kernel or with Uber?
If I get an consensus on the recovery, I will try both kernels and respond back...

I am still using TWRP 2.6.0.1 as it has not given issues for me yet. 2.6.0.3 I believe was the one giving others issue. I am sure it has been resolve in version 2.6.1.0, but until I have issue, I am not upgrading.
as far as kernel, I always believe that rom should be functional with native. if developer wants to put specific kernel in, then he should. if native doesn't work well, I just flash another rom.

Stupidly, the apk i got for the launcher was fake! so i fixed that and i think i undid the wierd setup wizard thing....bootanimation is still a work-in-progress... didnt think it would go crazy even though i followed tut.
So the stable is up for download..follow instructions though..dont want you guys to freak out when launcher forcecloses every second(literally) after you update launcher, so reboot afterwards...also going to fix Boot Animation

hahaha, heads up, I already had a unlocked bootloader and custom roms installed. This installed fine, but the screen was backwards. About 10-15 of letting it sit, the screen reset itself, I rebooted and it didn't stay! It fixes itself after a screen lock/unlock though. I'll report on stability later this week.

Hm...wow that didnt happen to me even after updating the ROM 4 times! Maybe its because the euro boot still stayed? Idk because I'm not unlocked(also refer to Kuma's unlock tool if this keeps happening so you can flash v20f(might fix the problem)) Thanks for letting me though but I'm not sure how to fix that one

The inverted screen is because you still have the euro u-boot. I made a recovery flashable zip that will fix that problem.

If I use the fix will I still be able to use custom roms? This is running fine actually, no random lockups or slowdows. The phone hasn't reset itself+ crashed yet. I've had that issue with a few roms. Did I miss a step somewhere for flashing custom roms? I've always just dealt with it since I hated the tmo rom.

Fix_Touch-V20F.zip, is this what you're referring to? I think I've installed it already
