[Q] Which kernel saves the Most Battery - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hello All....
I am currently very worried about battery in Zelly Cream Rom, Every 30 min I lose 1% to 2% of my battery.... I am using rage kernel ics version so please tell me the kernel which saves the most battery for both GB and ICS
Please Guys
Regards

We are not allowed to asks best, better performance, battery or in any way which is better.kernel.
Battery depends on ur usage and is differnet for diff persons and kernel
Regards
N

Here is thing no kernal saves battery.
There are lots of ways to save battery like keep display brightness minimum and close background processes.
Best way is to buy the battery of higher capacity

In stand by mode my battery drains for 1% per hour and when m using 3G and browsing then i drains about 13% per hour.....
I use task killer to kill background apps and keep brightness to balance condition
Also i keep my network to GSM only i.e to 2G when i don't want to surf net
It help me to get more battery life and i only need to charge once in a day

gaming massive battery drain!!

i have the elegant white rom,its awesome low ram consumption speed etc.
BUT first to change stock rom(original from manifacturer)i could play 2 hours and 1/2 sometimes 3 without trouble with battery at 30/35% left now i play 5 mins and my battery goes from 93% to 87% in 5 min
so 6%x12=72%battery lost in 1 hours its bad really bad! i also installed the battery fix but notthing!in idle without playing i lost 2/3% per hours so this is good.
someone have my same trouble? it is normal?if so i should install back stock rom?
if i get stock rom again the battery should be fine?
the elegant rom is on stock 2.3.7 i had 2.3.3 when i bought this phone
sorry for bad english i have not much time
thx everyone
(already done calibration)
to full charge it takes 1 hours max is it normal?

Roms based on CM7.2 do drain battery massively compared to stock so going back to stock would help.
Battery callibration does not help - see Here
Same problem here... Living with it cuz stock has just become old and lazy
But if you really want battery switch to stock its way better than cm

There isn't a noticeable difference in both versions in terms of battery life. However, 5.7 has better performance and is noticeable.
You can try underclocking to something like 730 MHZ and save a decent amount of battery life without losing performance. Check this OC kernel out:
OC zImage
Also, use Cyanogenmod, ADW launcher without customizations is faster than the stock touch-wiz UI launcher.

For all those who r shouting that battery calibration doesnt improve battery.. Did the XDA said it improves battery life?? Do u ppl know wats the meaning of calibration?? Calibrating means adjusting something to the accurate value.. Not improving the value!! Even we never said it ll improve battery life.. Battery calibration just calibrates the reading to more accuarte one. So let the ppl calibrate it. Else leave. It ll automatically gets adjusted after 1 or 2 week.. U can see urself the change..

Yes, many members on XDA said that callibration improves battery life. The battery indicator on your status bar does not use batterystatus.bin. It does not automatically adjust after 1 week or 2. It re-calibrates every time you charge!
Read the article posted by XDA for more:
google-engineer-debunks-myth-wiping-battery-stats-does-not-improve-battery-life/
well i dont know about you all
but on my phone battery percantage isnt that accurate
cause when i unplug phone from charger and just open game or do something battery percantage goes to like 90%
but when my battery percantage is low like 18% it holds 30mins on 18%
I've tested many roms here and stock rod do tend to have better battery life, but... When i tested the RAZRv3 by TeamCooper, it had extremly good battery life.
When i got my Ace it had froyo, that lasted about 2.5-3 days. I upgraded to gingerbread official, battery lasted about 1.5-2 days on. Then i tried several custom stock roms and they all lasted about 1-2 days.
After that i started testing CM7 (both 7.1 and 7.2) roms and most of them lasted 12-18 hours (i used the wifi disables 3g function and some other tweaks to last the battery longer otherwise those roms would not have been usable)
Then i got to the RAZRv3 i used it for 2 weeks and the battery was amazing, it lasted easily for 3 days with no other tweaks than "wifi disables 3g" and also the performance was good. No lag!
Then i tested the CM7.2byFAT and the battery was awful but i really liked the rom so i keep 3g disabled when i dont use internet (all background apps use 2g internet) and now the battery last for 2 days.
As i've tested.... 3g takes really alot of battery in CM7 roms but in RAZRv3 (cm7.1 based) it worked like a charm.
So.. Everyone who wants really good battery life should test RAZRv3 that can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1478807

[Q] best extended battery

Hey guys,
I am looking to buy an extended battery for my atrix cause it can't last one day. What is the best extended battery? I want one that is reliable and lasts a long time, physical size doesn't matter.
Thx in advance guys
P.s. the atrix community is the best!!!
There are lots of things you can do to improve battery life.
You can set up voltage profiles and run battery calibrations. You could also flash a custom ROM that has good battery performance. I recommend Neutrino EE
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398819
i and a friends in other forum give some configs for the battery extend life, we like to use tasker and setCPU to configures some tasks for toggle 2G and kill some apps and set CPU for underclock when smartphone turn off screen .... i won 2 days and some 10 hours for example with this configuration and with radio european and rom morrisoft v0.9
The biggest drain on your battery is Screen On time. I recommend you tweak your levels and see if it betters your battery life before you spend your hard earned money.

ok, I understand there are things I can do to make my battery last longer (I have tried a lot of the tips you guys have posted). I want to spend my money on a bigger battery and I wanted advice one which extended battery is the best, not how to make my current battery last longer.
Please keep the posts relevant to what I am asking for
sorry, going to have to jump on the improved battery life bandwagon.
if you're willing to post your battery usage graph that shows wifi/gps/awake/screen on/charging, we could make some informed recommendations...

I don't know how to do that. If you explain to me how to do that I will, but I still want advice on what extended battery is the best and if there are cases that will fit with it in.
I am still waiting on some advice.

Battery life after ICS update

I have updated my S2 with the official ICS. My battery life is now so poor I struggle to get a full day's use. Before the update I would get about two days with moderate use. I have read that the battery life should improve with ICS update. Can anyone explain this and give a solution as it is very frustrating.

try some batt monitoring apps from market and see whats draining ur batt and resolve the same either by force stopping those apps r deleting them if u find they r batt drainers
and also for ICS it requires at least one r 2 recharge cycles for things 2 settle down

I am using a battery monitoring app and have closed apps that use most battery. I have also switched off wifi, sync, gps which I never used to do, but still no real improvement.

Samsung Official ics will always be a battery eater.
Suggest you to root your phone and install a custom rom like wanam/slim etc. These will remove all unnecessary bloat wares giving u better battery and performance. (Do remember to read all the necessary info before u root).

ics generally uses more battery than gingerbread
i remember getting 3 days easy on moderate use on cm7
still you can try custom roms because they give better battery life

Have you tried BadAss Battery Monitor?
imho: too many running services in background.. try to kill/freeze unnecessary apps(use link2sd), but most important thing is it seems that current ics is not optimally written/optimized, most kernel can help minimize this effect (but minimal e.g. speedmod)... if you can bare with this condition you ics is for you.. but if you are expecting an optimal performance of your sgs2, you should consider reverting back to gb ..
If you wish to remain on Stock Rom, please root your phone. CF-Root kernel here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399
Then use Titanium Back to freeze unwanted apps which drains your battery. List of applications safe to remove here.

According to CPU spy deepsleep is at 42%.
According to badass battery the battery is consumed as followes: 60% kernel and rest of apps about 9% with none more than 1.5%. Balance is consumed by screen 15%, phone radios 3%, phone 13%

Deepsleep with 42% is far to little
Find out, with process drains your battery.
Use BetterBatteryStats und look for kernel wakelocks after display is 1 or 2 hours off.
I had the same problem a while back and battery would go down to 20% in about 5 hours. Did a factory reset because when I upgraded, I didn't wipe cache. I read somewhere that old gb code could cause issues.
After the reset, phone works great. I get to 50% battery in about 13 hours. If you can, give it a shot. Of course, back up paps with Ti, otherwise reinstalling them is a *****. :banghead:
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
I'm quite satisfied, after first cycles now with stock Italian LPF and Phenomenal 5.4 Medium Kernel I have very satisfing results (I forgotten the phone on this night, in 5 hours it drained at least 1-2% of battery).
In normal operativity I'm on 13-16 hours with 1650mhA battrey.
Thanks will do that and post results for further help.
Battery life has now improved to about 15hrs since taking the battery out for recalibration and putting it through a few charge cycles. But this still feels to low.
Ps deepsleep still at 42%.
Sent from my GT-P7300 using XDA
oooor you can downgrade to Gingerbread and get a custom rom/theme for that awesome ICS feel and at the same time get awesome battery life
I backed up my data, did a factory reset, restored my backup, charged the battery and now the estimated battery (@ 64%) is about 30 hours. So it seems my battery problem is sorted. Holding thumbs!
Sent from my GT-P7300 using XDA
I suggest i apply all the Tweaks as possible first, secondly install a cok kernel like Siyah, then see if there's any difference
Imo, i bet ICS is eating more battery than Gb, so dont expect a better battery life, try to.enjoy the new feature instead

[Q] Very poor battery life

Hi!
I just got my Xperia Mini Pro (a week ago).
I immediately flashed it with CM10 #146 and overall I'm satisfied with it's resoponsivness and performance. The only thing that worries me is horrible battery life, I just charged it this morning and now, about 6 hours later (20 mins of talking, about 15 messages) my battery's at 35%. I'm not using any data conenction, I have switched it to 2G only, my signal is strong, I have reduced screen brighness to about 75%, and I keep both BT and GPS off. I do use wifi, but that's like 10 mins a day. My phone came with a 1160mAh battery, which I know is not the most powerful one, but baraly 1 day of batteyr life in a brand new phone, and being forced to charge it every evening just scares me
Is this normal for these Xperias? My old Wildfire used to last about 2-2,5 days.
Yes. It is normal for me. I charge my phone everyday.
You can lower your brightness or apply battery tweaks to preserve battery life
Sent from my WT19i
You can try another kernel, for instance MESA 2.2, and undervolt a bit. I get about 2 days of battery with that kernel and some init.d and build.prop tweaks.
I don't really fancy any of those ubertweaked-hardocre-v6-megaoptimized kernels and stuff. Cyanogen mod does the job for me, and I don't really want to "overtweak" antything I'm just gonna have to stick with what I have I guess.
I don't think that flashing it with stock FW (which I'd hate to do) will help it?
Christ... I don't get it... A friend of mine has an Xperia LWW with the same battery, the same CPU, and she charges it like three times a week, while I'm gonna have to charge it like seven times a week. It's just wrong. I hope that the battery will get a bit better over time, and I'll be able to use for at least 24h without looking for the charger.

Yeah man, but i guess she hasnĀ“t flashed cm10... ROM consumes battery as well. If you were on stock firwmare as i guess she is, then you would have almost the same battery backup
Always check that sync is off. Cause it will drop battery bar easily. Of course in case you don't need sync.
And check build.prop. there's 2-3 lines which will help the phone to deep sleep better. (Search xda)
I myself use aokp jb with messa kernel and with normal usage it takes me 1.5 day.

Best Comb
I respect all the developers but with due respect and personal opinion:
Kernel : Kernel PAnic v2.5(ICS) and Rage 3.0(GB)
ROM : Smultronic v 5.0(ICS) and Spartan v2.05(GB)
Brightness : 40%
Sync off
I get a usage of about 2 days on both of these roms...and if u are a light user i mean if u play no games them HyperBeamCream is really good for ICS.
well...1 day battery life is abt normal for our fones which have1200 mah battery,,,,can't help it:crying:
well the simplest way to take a step for solution is changing kernel to mesa cause with fxp 146 kernel there was a horrible battery drain for me also. Reduce the screen brightness & turn off 3g if u dont need it
i suggest mesa with CM10 too .
You could also decrease processor speed in standby, I think normally it's 250 but you can put like 125.
In cm10 mesa kernel does the job... It really saves the battery... And one more thing is that, give it some time... The battery will become normal after a few days of usage...
