[Q] novella rom ota not working - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Rom customizer works fine on wifi before flashing the verizon patch. After flashing the patch rom customizer says no files?
Any work arounds?

There may not be any files as of yet. If you don't flash the vw patch you will get at&t updates. I would assume.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app

I will get with Trent and get a patch for you. Your build.prop will need to be modified. I will place a patch in the Verizon OTA for you which will give you access to the files you desire.
Edit...actually, there was a patch in the OP. I did however put it in the OTA. Download and flash via OTA and this will give you the build.prop edits you need to see the files.

Works fine for me. Flash rom then flash patch right after.

ICS Update Un Rooted My Phone... Quick ?

Hopefully I posted this in the right forum, If not please move it!
Ok, So I updated my phone via Kies and got the official ICS update (Finally) for my AT&T Galaxy Note, Problem is, as expected... it unrooted my phone and I'd like it rooted again, I want to keep the new official stock ICS rom and just want it rooted again to delete all that garbage bloatware to keep my phone sharp, any help?
Do i just re-root it doing it the same way I did before?
Will it ruin my new ICS rom?
Can anyone link me to the files that will root my phone but keep the ICS Stock Rom?
I didnt have a single problem Rooting it the first time on ginerbread, but Im not sure what will happen with a different official rom installed. Just dont wanna have to reinstall ICS again or something, when I just spent about an hour setting it back to how I had everything, then remembered updating unrooted me.
Any advice or help is really appreciated!
Thanks!
Not really in right section more like a Q&A section.
However the devs need a little time to sort through all the code but these guys are smart and root will come soon and they will proudly announce it. Just enjoy for now.

I just odined the cwm .tar and then flashed the superuser .zip (both can be found in the general section, just do a search) and I'm rooted on the official update.

My links....look for gnote page...
ok so just do odin again liek i did before?
And I hope im not asking too much, but can anyone link me to the files I need directly? The last ones I used was from a source outside of XDA (xda was down for maintenance) and I think it gave me a virus on my computer and after doign a system restore today i dont wanna do that again lol. so if its not a problem can someone link me to the right files i need?
Thanks everyone!
Yes.
Now look one post above your last one.
To see the links Mr. Joe is referencing you need to be on a pc.
To install CWM you need to be on a pc.
To root you need a pc.
Mr.Joe would only post trusted links.

I successfully updated my Note to ICS yesterday and want to root it again as well. I looked through the Note section in BigJoe's thread, but can't figure out exactly what files I need. I rooted it with Gingerbread without issue. I've looked through the unlocking/rooting section and the one thread that explains how to root specifically says that the method will NOT work with the official ICS update.
Sorry to sound so dense, but could someone link exactly which files I/we need to root the official ICS via Odin?
What you asked for is in the third post.

ps that odin3 file doesnt work just gives a random script window then force closes

[Stock Firmware] Sep 29 2012 Stock ATT Firmware (TOT File)

Howdy y'all!
So, special thanks to user "sextape" for providing this, I'm just mirroring it just incase LG decides to change the link, or lock us out.
This is the Stock Shipping Firmware, LGE970AT-00-V10o-ATT-US-SEP-29-2012+0
You need the DLL files, and LGNPST 2.2.3 to flash this. If you need that, hop on the IRC channel ( #lg-optimus-g ) and ask for it.
http://downloads.codefi.re/thecubed/lgoptimusg/att/firmware
I will post the latest firmwares as they are available to this link.
EDIT: Heh, well, it looks like LG took down the firmware from their CSMG server. Get it while it's hot!
EDIT2: Whoops, my server's got a problem with the plus sign in the download link.. Give me a few while I get that sorted...
EDIT3: Alright, that's fixed. Sorry about that...
well now we can have some cooks go in and start tweaking and debloating this firmware so we can upload it to our devices... next best thing besides a fresh ROM

Why do I have the feeling I'll be losing a lot of money to you?!?! You're everywhere man! Thanks for the help and support. I'm going to try and learn how to debloat and so forth, now that this phone is looking promising. I always just grabbed other people's roms, but this should be fun with the S4 Pro!!
Ok so I have a 'tester' Optimus G for AT&T. It was given to us about 1 month ago to test certain Software on. So I wanted to try and get the 'official' firmware/build/etc. over to the test unit, to make it as identical to the released version as possible. The hardware is most likely identical.
The test unit though has the same Android version, Baseband version, Kernel version, Build number (IMM76L), the only difference is the Software version. The test unit is E97009j but the official unit is E97010o. The LGMobile Support tool reports the test unit as model LGE970 Version E97009J and the official unit as Model LGE970 Version E97010O
LGMobile support tool doesn't report any updates available for either unit. So any idea what SW version entails? Any idea on how to get the test unit in sync with the official release? I was trying the official LG route but that doesn't work. I don't think AT&T has released any official images for this phone. I was thinking of a nandroid backup using CWM but the CWM in this forum (only 2 posts in Rom development??) doesn't have any instructions for installing it and it's only temporary. I was thinking of flashing this Stock ATT Firmware posted here but it requires me to go to IRC and ask for some files but when I did nobody answered. I'm coming from the HTC and Samsung world. In Samsung's world I'd just use Odin to flash a stock image which includes modem, bootloader, recovery, etc. the whole package. But not sure about LG's world. Maybe I should just root both units and go in there and dd the relevant partitions from the stock unit to an image file and then restore those images to the same partitions on the test unit. But which partition numbers are "relevant"?

You don't to "use" it, just log in to the #lg-optimus-g channel (login just requires a screen name, channel and enter reCAPTCHA, but no SW install or requesting an account). Then wait 5-10 min and someone will ask for the files, which will be followed by a posting of the link.

Actually it looks like this kernel did support custom boot animations out of the box. If you want to test, go to system/media and copy your stock boot animation. Then push a custom one and set permissions rw-r-r and reboot. I just needed a kernel that was stock with init.d and adb remount so I can make changes like deodexing and customizing apps then reodexing and pushing back apks

I've already created my custom boot Ani, thanks! I put it in the themes section for anyone who wants it. Works like a charm. My only gripe is that i can't use my boot animation installer because it says that's a read only file (system /media) Didn't have that issue with my other phone. Could that be caused by the kernel? Oh well, I'll do it manually for now. Keep up the great work!

Firmware upgrade encountered an issue, Kies & Odin do not work

PLEASE HELP!! When in boot the firmware upgrade encountered an issue message appears. I have 1st tried Kies, downloading drivers and troubleshooting still nothing. I then have tried odin with stock restore and I get a fail each time. I have checked usb cords they are in good condition. I have exhausted all options that I know of. Any help would be soooo much appreciative!!! Thanks!
Do you know what build you were on prior? Looks like youre on the me7 ota and youre trying to flash mdk which you cant do.

I was in the same situation. I apparently use a pit file to get out of this error
The pit file should be locatable in the S4 Android Development section
Flash it and you will be as good as new

You need the me7 odin file from the dev forums. you were attempting to flash mdk and thats why you were getting the errors.
This is the link to the no wipe versions so you wont lose any apps and associated data. Just make sure you grab the me7 version.

[Q] SCH-545L Verizon Rural Carrier Variant Help Please

Hello. My local carrier (Bluegrass Cellular) is a rural partner with verizon. Just got the SCH-I545L S4 variant. I am trying to find a way to root or flash roms on it, just using motochopper without odin kernel flashing doesnt work (unsure of any compatible kernel and idk how to get the stock for this phone) though i find the kernel and build number are different. I am not very android developer savvy so *any* help on what to do or what can be done with my phone would be greatly appreciated. I attached a screenshot with about device screen information. Please help me :fingers-crossed:

I just picked up an i545L from my local carrier - cellcom(WI) and the good news is that it is the same build. I tried motochopper and it failed so it seems we need to flash a pre-release kernel and then flash back to stock kernel. Unfortunately, i have yet to find either for this build. Perhaps it is too new and someone will root soon? I am wondering if the newest VZW pre-release kernel and stock kernel would work since VZW is behind both software versions.
I would like to find the stock kernel for this model, I'm unsure if a vzw would mess with my cell service

I am needing a root for this S4 variant as well. Custom ROM support would be excellent as well (CM10.2 please!)
Yeah if anyone has any ideas regarding root for this device.. Would be much appreciated. Was already given safestrap idea for roms, which will work once root is accomplished. Just need a root method please!

this is better than 10b im assuming?? was originally on 10b but didnt want to go to 11c because didnt want to get stuck and not to be able to roll back in case i didnt like it.,.. im on liquid smooth had a nandroid backup but wheni formatted my internal i accidentaly erased my nandroid backup couldnt get into download mode to use kdz/tot im hoping this rom or the 10b rom will let me use twrp to go back to stock because the 4k recording doesnt work that good with liquid smooth.. Thank you for all your work you hopefully save me alot of headaches from deleting my nandroid backup..
Other than the deodex, what's different between rooting on a 10b build and taking the OTA? Assuming you've rooted such that it carries over ... which it seems is possible.
