lww locked booltolader custom rom - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hi there,
Excuse me for starting this thread, but it has been hours now, that I've been looking for a solution on the forum...
Unfortunately, couldn't get one
Let me introduce my device:
Sony Ericsson Live With Walkman
running 2.3.4 (.62) rooted with doomlord's kit by downgrading to (.58) and OTA update
CWM installed - full back up created on SD
bootloader unlock allowed:no
stock kernel 2.6.32.9-perf
So my question is : is there a custom ICS (preferably .587 based) rom that I could flash with CWM, directly onto the rooted 2.3.4 (locked bl), without the need of upgrading to generic ICS (when connect to PC it says that I already have the latest software updates) and of course without getting to brick the device?
Also it will be good if I keep the root on the phone.

Wrong section, bro. There is your place.
About your question. Yes, there are many ROMs based on stock ICS, but you mostly need to upgrade to ICS first. For example - xNXT, Revolution ICS HD, Zelly Cream, Viper etc.
If you want to upgrade to ICS, use Flashtool.

sry fr being a bit rude but u havent searched this section properly....
hav a look at the all-in-one roms, kernels, etc sticky thread by predatOr in this section...

Sorry guys, I only searched the development section... Never crossed my mind to look in troubelshooting. Thanks for the tip, you are the best

What firmware to install

Hi i have a brand new xperia pro with .58 firmware
i have:
- rooted phone
- CWR to install some patches
i am happy with phone as it is but i want for example call recording.
my question is:
- what is the best kernel ?
- what is the best firmware ?
previously i had a x10 mini and used NaA CM wich was great.
what kerner and firmware do you advise me to use and what the advantages over stock?
regards
The first thing you probably need to do is unlock your bootloader. I used the paperclip method to unlock mine.
Then you should flash the stock 0.62 firmware.
Then you should flash a custom kernel. bbooff's and KRsH both work well.
Then you should flash a custom ROM. HYBROM by bbooff is awesome.
Before you do any of the things I suggested make sure you read the forums first. It does not take a genius to flask the SK17i, but there are always times when it could go wrong.
As long as you don't mess up the bootloader thing then you can always flash a new ROM so you don't have to worry.
Oh. And make sure you read the thread titles correctly. I have been reading a thread a few times on here when I thought it was for [MiniPro] but I was actually reading a [Mini] thread by mistake.
Good luck!
for Xperia mini Pro HYBROM is great i think. and for Kernels there are 3 Kernels by now. KRsH, Rage and X Kernel. all are in Development forum.
i', using KRsH v3 and it's cool.
you should test each one, it's kind of individual.
Wrong section by the way
One extra tip I will give is when you install the Flashtool drivers there are no drivers for Xperia MiniPro, it says X10 MiniPro or somwthing like that. Just ignore and choose the generic fastboot drivers.
You can download Flashtool from the first sticky thread in this forum but just use generic Fastboot drivers. It took me ages to figure it out but it works for 2011 Xperia models.
HI. what is the CLIP method to unlock xperia mini? will i loose warranty with this method?
Sadly any method of unlocking the phone will potentially invalidate the warrenty.
The advantages of the paperclip method are that it should work with any version of the phone, including ones that can't be unlocked with the official Sony tool and that it shouldn't mess up the DRM used by things like TrackID (which the Sony unlocker breaks)
unfornettly the pictures on current guides are not very easy to understand.
anyone have video of unlocking the pro ?

[Q] Some direction for Xperia Ray

Hello,
I've recently got a new Xperia Ray with FW 4.0.2.A.0.62 (Gingerbread). I haven't flashed anything yet and would like to do so with one of the ICS roms. But I couldn't figure out (out of the many threads around) the steps to do so on this particular FW.
I have CM9 on my Nook tablet and am very pleased with it. I would be happy to have anything that works this well (and better) on my Ray.
Can someone please point me to the steps required (rooting, bootloader ,flashing, kernel etc), and also recommend a good ICS rom (speedy, light, kind on the battery) for the .62 FW?
Appreciate any info and apologies for the sense of newbiness.
thanks.
Check this Q&A Thread for your phone.
For ROMs, look in the Ray Development section, read the topics and compare yourself.
To install one, you have to do the following:
Download the ROM you want.
If it doesn't include kernel itself, download a kernel that is compatible with this ROM.
Place downloaded .zip file on your SDcard.
Unlock bootloader.
Install custom kernel via fastboot.
Install custom ROM via Recovery.
Unlocking bootloader and kernel installation is included in my tutorial, check my signature.

Neo 2.3 firmware

I have searched all over to find a working link for the old firmware before 4.0.4 i hate this new firmware the phones really laggy and crashes allot. SO i assume my best option is to go back to what was working the 2.3 firmware.
Can someone please help me with a working link to the old firmware or a solution to the broken 4.0.4 ive now lost flash support and cant watch iplayer via the browser.
Thankyou.
You did a bad search.
There are working links in Neo dev section. Link with stock fw's is linked in one of the sticky threads.
And in same (stock fw) thread, somewhere around end I uploaded .42 and .62 fw, both working fine.
Can your share the 2.3 firmware link? I want find the original taiwan firmware for 2.3. Thanks

I would just like to make one note, even if it's not response on request.
Do not flash Android 2.3.2 on your phone, anything above that is ok, but don't flash 2.3.2. Not sure if you know that or not, but just to make it sure, since you just wrote 2.3.
No..Ics New firmware bulid number .587 is the best for Neo..I'm also Neo user. Please updat your phone to ICS .587..I'm sure.. ou'll like It.. Here Is the Link the ICS new firmware..Hope you'll enjoy it

[Q] Help upgrading from GB to ICS, lost!? (MT15i)

Hello
I'm used to the flashing and all that for the Samsung devices (galaxy s series) but I'm confused when it comes to the Xperia series. This is my wifes phone that I want to update since it's on it's knees.
From what I've read there are ways to improve the storage space since that is a problem for her, constantly running out of space.
I've been reading up on some custom roms but perhaps stock ICS is good enough with that storage improvment.
So can I download the latest ICS and flash it with the "flashtool" or perhaps there are some nice guide out there that will help me out.
Will the root carry on with the update?
Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo MT15i
Android version: 2.3.4
Version: 4.0.2.A.0.42
Bootloader unlocked: Yes
no root wont carry with this update
and i can see your wife's phone is running GB
in my own taste and experience
i suggest not to move to ICS
you're gonna feel more lags cuz it's heavier than GB
first of all unlock the bootloader (search the forum)
now you can flash custom kernels (using flashtool) around the forum that are much better than stock ones (not all kernels work with all roms)
its time to use custom roms
again
in my own taste and experience
GB: codename 9.3 (now on it)
ICS: ice cream pureness
were the best
Jelly sandwich good also man^^
Look in stickies in dev section
Everything is there
seNt froM My bustEr Neo v <3
Once again I would suggest I-Scream for ICS (The test version)... It feels as smooth as GB.. And battery is quite good, unexpectedly..!!

Hey I read you thread and that's more or less the same situation, thanks for replying.
I unlocked the bootloader earlier so in the service info/configuration it says "Bootloader unlocked: Yes"
I will check out your thread and go that way then. Thank you

[Q] SK17i, restore latest stock/official Gingerbread?

Hey Folks,
I Googled, I really did, so don't get angry at me...
As many others, I updated my phone to ICS, and found it really disappointing. Laggy, choppy, and the UI was messed up in few places(like getting to favorites in phonebook). Not to mention the annoying notification LED issue.
So, I went and installed CM 9.1 and tried also the CM 7.2.
Didn't like it, decided to go back to latest stock Gingerbread.
What is the latest OFFICIAL GB?
I've seen a thead about 4.0.2.a.62 on XDA forums, but the link to rapidshare wasn't working. I tired one I found on shady site(yeah, I know, stupid), but it had issues with physical qwerty, and I just didn't trust the software of a random site.
Currently, I'm running 4.0.2.a.58, but I'm receiving notification about an update to .62 via the update center in the phone, but it fails to install. (probably cause I put in a boot.img from CM 9.1 package) Also, the notification is annoying as hell. Any way to remove it?
Can someone please point me to the latest, RELIABLE GB rom? Also, is there a way to put back the original recovery image? (working download links and step by step instructions for a noob would be very appreciated)
To sum it up, how do I get my phone to be like a regular, stock phone from SE with the latest 2.3.4 android?
And no, there is no Sony service point in my country, and the vendor previously refused to honor the warranty and roll back official ICS to GB.
Welcome to the forum. Thread moved, please post all your question threads here in Q&A in future.
Also normally common questions can be answered by reading the sticky threads at the top of General like this one as they normally cover all the basics.
Thanks
AvRS
Of course you can't do an over the air update on unlocked boot loader, this can brick your phone!
The latest official firmware is 4.0.2.A.0.62 and for Germany (only?) .69 that you can download as a flashable zip
There is no recovery image, xperia devices don't have a stock recovery
You could flash a prerooted kernel for gingerbread (e.g. rage kernel), boot in cwm and flash .69 :good:

Thank you for the information
Now, is there a tested and working .62 image laying around? I've found one, but it messes with my qwerty, and I don't know where it came from and if someone put in bits that shouldn't be there....
The ones shown here in the forums is 4.0.2.A.0.42... (I have the sk17i model)
