+1
Press in the same time volume plus and home button and power (you're phone is power off) , when the samsung logo appears release the power button and keep pressing the other two. After that you will enter in recovery mode..navigate to wipe dalvik cache and wipe data , afther that just reset your phone. You will get a brand new installed android. All your apps and settings from internal memory will be lost -be aware.
Sorry for my bad english.

You say it needs a new motherboard >>>then it needs a new board ..
By not accepting any software i take it that means you have non Samsung firmware and warranty has been refused on those grounds ..
jje
I have had exactly the same issue today.
Phone was charging on dock. Left it on there for quite a while so it was definitely 100%. Went to collect it later and screen had Samsung S3 boot screen. It was completely locked and I had to remove the battery to unfreeze it. It now wont get passed that boot screen.
I cannot boot into stock reset menu ie vol up + home + power
I can boot into Odin mode but I cannot flash anything as I either get a pit partition fault or Odin hangs on connecting.
My S3 was rooted but running stock T-mobile 4.1.
Could this be a battery related issue where the battery has failed due to over charging?
I am worried I am looking at a bricked device with voided warranty due to root.

Problem with my SGS2

Hi all ... I've been having this problem with my Samsung galaxy s2 i-9100 lately:
After booting, as soon as it enters into Android, the phone powers off. Also it seems not to be recognizing there's actually a sum card in it. I initially thought might be issue with my battery, but when I am going onto Recovery or Download mode I can clearly see the battery level being high (above 80%) and it is holding power as it should be.
One more thing I would add is that if I leave the phone connected to USB/charger, the phone stays ON and does not shutdown. Though sim card is still not recognized. And then as soon as I remove the USB / charger cable, the phone shuts down...
History: I was previously using Biftor 4.7 ROM , where everything was working fine.. then for some reason I reverted and installed stock ICS 4.0.4 ROM from sammobile.com . It is after installing the stock from that I think I started getting this issue.
I tried upgrading the modem to no avail ...
Current: baseband I9100XXLS6
Current Rom biftor 4.7
Any help and clue appreciated please ...
Thanks
Nitish

He mentioned current rom.
@Nitish. Can you try booting your phone with another battery? And even I once faced sim problem on lsj. It resolved by flashing rom after a wipe.

My brother coming from London end of this month so I asked him to bring me genuine batt and charger.
Mine is genuine too, just wanted to rule out any odds..
However I am 'quite' sure this is not batt related - I didn't see any gradual degradation of charge held by my battery ... and as i already mentioned, if i boot to recovery or download mode , even with the screen lit at all times, the battery does hold on for ages!
I was thinking its maybe modem(baseband?) Related.
When i started getting the issue, to come back, I was on stock 4.0.4 with baseband i9100xxlq6. I tried updating this to i9100xxls6, which is what I am currently on, but same issue.

Any custom rom available for download mode ? I was once facing issues with screen flashing at boot time and hanging there. Couldn't go to recovery. I fixed by using a custom cyanogen from into download mode .. but I seem to have lost it ...

Still isn't clear for me about current ROM, you were on ics 4.0.4 and went back to Bifort?
Flash this via Odin and see if it flies.
If you still on 4.0.4 beware of brick bug.
And I'm pretty sure batt's got anything to do with this.

Yeah I started encountering the issue while is was on ics 4.0.4 stock .... then for troubleshooting I went back to jb biftor but issue persists.
Yesterday I flashed stock 4.0.4 again then connected to kies . It was saying a firmware update was released: so I downloaded it via kies and updated. Now my device has:
ROM: stock 4.0.4
Baseband: I9100XXLQ6
Build Number: IMM76D.XWLPY
When I issue Settings > About Phone > Status , I see serial number as 00000000000
Is this normal?
Can u tell me about the 4.0.4 brick bug? What about efs?

Phone stuck on "Samsung Galaxy SIII Logo" - can't access recovery!

Hi
I'm using (was) Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300...
About a week ago my phone started to freeze once in a while... and I've needed to restart the phone everytime.
after a few days like this I tried to restart the phone and it just got stuck on the galaxy s3 logo and doesn't go no where.
Can only access Download Mode - Can't access recovey!!
When I connect the phone to my PC it recognising it and also is Odin. But when I try to Install a new firmware
it keeps saying that I have to PIT partition... tried doing different things and nothing is working for me.
Tried installing old firmware and no, tried using different Odin ver and no, tried even using different PIT files and nothing works.
Even tried to use different computers.
Can anyone help? Because I'm kinda lost here.
Thanks
Danny
Judging by your phone`s symptoms (random freezing, reboots) your phone suffered a so called Sudden Death. There is a lot of info to that in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2091045
Do you by any chance remember the name of your Firmware when your phone started to freeze randomly?

What ROM did you use and most importantly what Kernel with what version did you use?
It doesn't matter for how long you've been using that rom. S3's have a problem known as sudden death syndrome that affects 16GB units. After some months working perfectly fine, it starts to have some freezes and, eventually, dies. With EXACTLY the same problems you cited: stuck at logo, no recovery, no OS boot, just download mode and ODIN unable to flash due to that PIT thing. I'm 99% your phone died. Tell us which rom and kernel you were using, because some kernels (and some roms that include those kernels) have fixes for that, but old ones haven't. Tell us also which recovery you were using. It may be due to recovery's vulnerable kernel.
Anyway, your phone is COMPLETELY DEAD. There is no way to fix it. Send it to Samsung and they will change the mobo.

Hey guys, i hope this wasent posted before at least if then i am to stupid to find it.
I broke the screen of my s3 and a guy in a handyshop repaired it for everything fine except my software ( Omega rom idk the version ;( ) always got into safemode. At Home i wanted to fix it myself and got in recovery mode and instaled the newest backup i got.

Obvious question but is the battery charged? Does it charge when switched off?
ewalkol uniting
Okey just to make things clear:
Yes it is charged.
If i start it normaly, without pressing any Buttons except to power button i get a bootloop is vibrating periodicly and i see my bootscreen forever.
If I want to get in recovery mode or download mode (volume up/down+home+power) it Shows me the Samsung sIII Screen and turns off again.
If u know anyone with a usb jig...that mite helo u get into download mode

If it worked fine before the screen was broken then either something else was damaged at the same time or the repair process has added something new.
If you can't get it into download mode then not a lot you can do, usb jig or repair clip might work -but only if the motherboard is undamaged..
