Thanks! Some users meet the same issue with me. It seems some device is not.
The issue on my device is not stable. It flash awhile then on, then off or flash with strange frequency.

I did install the kitkat update and rooted it successfully, but cannot install any custom recovery.

Tried to, doesn't work really
It just enters into regular recovery and doesn't install anything. It just says "no command."
Does it make a difference if I try the whole procedure while being on S221? Does it have to be on S220?

I used mobile uncle tools and make sure you install twrp 2.7.1.1 older versions WILL NOT work, cwm seems not to like lenovo currently lots of probs
i have included zip recovery

I normally just open youtube, then get the link and download the video via youtube downloader. Work around it

I uninstalled you tube reinstalled using my backup version let it play then updated app, and was still fine, if you dont have/find previous version aptoide will have it.
But i have been streaming on data connection not wi-fi?

I have updated youtube app and now is working well.(for me :laugh: )
From extasy to dispair . Again the same problems with YouTube. The same problem image freez.

I am having trouble with downloads with my stock browser. No matter what rom i install, it always says download unseccesfull. I tried to restore stock hosts utt its the same. Cant download anything from xda forum attachments, megaupload... I do not use any antivirus, defenders... Please can someone help me with this problem. Thanks
Have you tried changing the download storage location? Does this happen with any other browser or just the stock one?

I have done the flashing and installation of the vibe ROM Twice and still the same issue. The Microphone and speakers dont work while using VOIP apps like (SKYPE, VIBER, KAKOA, LYNC, etc...)

Recently, I updated my phone with the Lenovo system Update and since then, my Google play(and services) stopped working. I unistalled my Google Play and the services to solve the issue and reinstalled them back, but nothing worked. I did a factory recet but also, nothing worked.
I have followed most links on the web regarding the "Google play has stopped working" error and still, NOTHING has worked.
Please help.

Sorry, really sorry about the late respond..first, root your phone, install root explorer; then go to : etc, then delete the host file (dont forget to turn the permission r/w first!)

I too have the same Lenovo S820 phone which I upgraded to latest vibe UI 1.5 which is kitkat 4.4.2 OTA. After upgrading I lost the root. I tried to root it using Frama root, V root etc. but to no avail. Can someone please suggest how to root this phone with vibe UI 1.5 ?

I found a way to root it using 4.4Root.zip . Just flashed this zip using custom recovery. If u don't have custom recovery, u need to flash it using flash tool.

my phone has a soft brick. it doesnot function. it opens in the begining and does not enters to full menu. means it remains still when gionee smart phone comes as a text. i tried to reset to factory setting but has the same problem.

i don't know if you can reflash stock ROM
Reflash stock ROM will solve your problem
if you can't reflash
then you have big problem
