Rick Smart UI Transparent Flip Case Cover - Galaxy Note 3 Accessories

Hello All,
I have seen lately a 'new' type of case from Rock Smart UI flip cover case for our Note 3.
The case features a transparent front cover with some kind of s-view, judging from the photos.
I made a search and did not see anyone talk about this case specifically for Note 3.
Has anyone purchased this case ? I wanted to have an idea whether the smart UI it is advertising is true or not, and the overall user experience.
Look no further, here follows the link to the product: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rock-Smart-...Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&var=&hash=item418571721b
Thank you guys for your input.
Nitish
PS: Please read ROCK Smart UI in thread title

I'm extremely interested in this case and will patiently await first-hand accounts and reviews!

I have purchased the case a couple of days back, and I am waiting delivery. Will take some time (normally at least 2-3 weeks) to be delivered from where I host (Mauritius).
Thought maybe someone else may have been through it and willing to share the experience.

I'm also intrigued and will be purchasing it, since it's pretty inexpensive. This reminds me of a classier HTC M8 Flip cover case.

How is the Rock Smart UI case implementation on HTC M8 ? Does it work as they claim it does for note 3 ?

Not sure Its made for the M8, it simply reminds me of the flip case that you get with it.
I have yet to receive this case as its shipped from China. I will let you know when I get it though

I dunno, looks pretty gimmicky to me.
I gotta say if there's anyone interested in this but has never used the S-View case.... its more of a burden.
I like my setup of a tempered glass protector with case more than S-View, since S-View makes the experience a whole lot slower and the extra flaps gets in the way and add extra unnecessary bulk to the unit.
But if S-View is a must, check out this guy:

Actually Rock does manufacture a "similar" pixelized notification case:

Those look... potentially sweet! I followed a few links from the one posted, and came across this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/301288759905 which I ordered. I decided to go for that one mainly because in the pics in the actual ad (although not in the ones at the top), it appears to have built-in port covers (micro usb 3 & headphone), which is huge and should be included in many more cases. I'm currently using a super cheap, clear TPU case from ebay that I picked up due to it having that same feature. I know from experience how easily the micro usb ports can get f-ed up (not to mention the cables, my entire fairly large collection of genuine OEM cables is completely useless; I had never seen the correct voltage on my Note 8 until a started using one of the two "premium" cables that I ordered from monoprice for less than $10).
Anyways, I primarily use wireless charging with my N3, but sometimes juice up very quickly via (non OEM) micro usb 3 cable during the day. In my situation, using a case with built in port covers (vs. highly lose-able unattached micro usb 2 port covers, which are pretty much the only alternative available and inferior across the board) works extremely well for my use-case. I like to keep the port covered / protected since I don't need it for wifi charging and I don't want to end up with some problem with the port so that I can't mount it in ODIN for ex., but it's not at all inconvenient for charging via cable. Just flip the cover back (which involves sort of detaching it, because the cover part of the small flap that covers the port does insert into the port which means that it is actually a legit protective port cover, and actually superior to the built-in cover on the S5 which afaik just covers the port rather than inserting into the port at all, and breaks of pretty easily rendering to completely useless. Before finding this particular tpu skin, which I sometimes attach into a wallet case via velcro (usually whenever I go out so that I have my essential cards and phone without making sure that I had put multiple different items in my pocket... I'd order 25 packs of the micro usb 2 covers, eventually lose every one of them and order a new pack. Using this case instead has been infinitely more convenient.
Back to your regularly-scheduled topic following that advertisement from the "Cases with attached port covers are crazy useful, and it seems weird that none of the bigger case companies include that super cheap / easy mod as pretty much standard", which exists for real, but consists of only one vocal member... Has anyone who ordered one of these received it yet? If so. thoughts? Also, all cases like this need an app to work, yes? Has anyone checked that out? Any negative impact (re: battery, etc.)? Oh yeah, regarding my assumption that this one does have port covers, which, ya know, I think has some sort of value, possibly is really only based on the pics inside the sellers ad. They also list it being "dustproof" but don't specifically mention the port covers and also they don't appear to be in the picture gallery at the top of the page, but it looks like those are the same pictures that a number of different similar cases from different sellers for the ones that have a option to choose the color (black, blue, gold), so really I'm just hoping that this case is what I expect, though it was cheap enough and otherwise interesting enough to potentially just check it out, but not really end up using it. Hopefully it'll turn out that my assumptions are correct, but currently ???. Actually, I probably should have asked the seller, and suppose I will now, but I still don't regret just throwing down the order so it'll come sooner rather than waiting /increasing the delay by waiting for them respond.
The deliver range is 9/19 - 10/10, so I post some feedback when it arrives.

i love this one

I purchased the case too, from ebay ... sadly I see the item has not been shipped upto now ...
sent the seller a message, haven't had any reply since a couple of days.
hope this is not a bump ! coz I really want to have the case ...
Anyone else has received his case for a review ?

They have a video here also:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUe4rbJ4iIg

Forgot to update re: the one I ordered... it doesn't have port covers, but as it turns out (because the checkout pages and PayPal linkage are not friends with some of my browser extensions) so first time I tried to check out it didn't work. I went back to a different page and signed into my eBay account and turned off a couple extensions. I saw that there was one item in my cart, so I figured that it was the case so just went and checked out, paying much more attention to whether it was working or not than what I was buying, which actually turned out to be a TPU case exactly like the one I have / explained with the port covers, except it's translucent grey as opposed to the transparent one that I ended up getting. So I "blew" a total of three American dollar bills (except not really, because now I can just cut the port covers off of the one I like less and possibly attach it to another case somehow) so then I went back and ordered the case that I meant to. I will say about that seller though, that he both shipped and answered my question super quickly after I messaged it.

Here's one that I actually just ordered http://www.ebay.com/itm/251471912476?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT (by accident, heh... I was try to order a different cheap case via "Buy it Now" but one of my Firefox extensions was preventing the whole PayPal linkage popup thing, so I just opened the eBay app on my tablet, saw that there was 1 item in my cart, so I assumed it was the case I was just trying to buy, and didn't notice until I had already checked out that the cost was only $3... guess I had put this case in my cart but decided to get the clear one that I have now instead, but this one was and is still active, looks reasonably solid and it cost freakin 3 bucks! It hasn't arrived yet, nor has the $10 "Rick Smart" case that I intended to order, but I'm actually glad that I accidentally ordered this one too... if I don't like it more than my current clear one, I can just snip the port covers off and glue them to my Seidio wallet case, which was my former favorite, but I just didn't like the fact that it provided no protection for the bottom or top side beyond the corners).
Anyway, I think I initially ordered the clear one over this one because it was shipped from the U.S. and I'd get it sooner vs this one from China. More good news: It's currently 5% off, lowering the price from $1.95 to $1.85!! If you don't mind waiting, I really doubt you could do better for less than $4! As far as shipping is concerned, it's a flat $1.99, I ordered it on 9/5, the seller shipper right away, and the estimated delivery is between 9/17 and 10/1 (I'm predicting closer to the former, since the seller seemed totally on top of it).
If you want one sooner though, there are several on eBay if you search for something like "Galaxy Note 3 case with port covers" or variation of that. You can also put "dustproof" or "waterproof" into your searches, but that increases the likelihood that a higher percentage of your results will be cases that FULLY cover the phone via mutli-layered cases with a cover for the top that usually has a built in termpered glass screen cover. Actually many of those look really nice, and I'd likely order one if I didn't already have a tempered glass screen protector attached. There are TONS of widely varying cases on eBay, if you just search for EXACTLY what you're looking for, there's a pretty good chance that your results will contain several options of exactly what you're looking for to choose from. If the pictures leave some doubt re: whether the case is exactly what you want, just msg the seller. If they don't answer by like, the next day, just cross that option off your list and pick a different one.
BTW, you bastard! Looking through ebay's selection of cases to write this post, It's pretty much a certainty that I'll come across one that I definitely don't need, but "is super pimped and clearly much better than ALL the other ones I already have... for only x $'s? Buy it NOW button!" Already have a few contenders...

MiniSuit Leather Portfolio (for tablet and dock) - Review

I received my MiniSuit Portfolio on Saturday.. It is a very nice case, very well made. Yes - it adds bulk but if you can't tell that when you ordered it then you didn't look at the pictures . It's a tri fold so of course it will add bulk, plus the leather. It is obviously very functional, and the side that holds a business card can probably hold a few pieces of paper but otherwise too much or it will just get entirely too fat..
OK, so the obvious things aside..... Here come the constructive criticisms. I'm a little concerned with the fit. The leather covers the bezel so when you dock it, it is really, really really tight.. I wonder if it puts "stress" on the fit of the dock and tablet.. The part that holds the dock snaps on.. It has little strap on the top corners, and when you add those it added and even tighter fit.. If you leave them off, and the dock slides down quite a bit when you are using it.
After only one day's use, the parts of the leather that go between the tablets and dock are pretty scuffed up.
Since the dock snaps off, I thought I'd be able to use the case for just the tablets if I didn't have the dock. Well I CAN, but the magnetic closer is part of the tri-fold that is on the dock portion, and so unless you have that part (even if it's empty), then the cover is very "flappy" (which is OK, so just fyi).
In all fairness, I am calling MiniSuit tomorrow. I need to get ask about another part of my order anyway (a different case, different purpose). This portfolio case is also ever so slightly "off" center enough that the camera is partially covered up (yes I've tried moving it several times but it still settles into the same place) I don't think that is normal, my friend's case is aligned perfectly.. So maybe this one is just a little warped overall.
I'm definitely giving MiniSuit benefit of doubt here, I am sure they will replace this one anyway since he camera hole is off center. Perhaps they can explain the width of the the leather between the tablets and dock. It's late and I can't remember ever seeing a "spec" for that. All I know is that it is really small.
I've include some insanely detailed pictures for reference if anyone would like to see what I'm talking about
EDIT:.. Pics will have to come another time, gallery not cooperating

I'm looking forward to the pics! Thanks!
I just installed one of these covers on my wife's Prime and the camera on the rear is way off to one side also. And there are a few blems and over glues on the cover. I am not happy with this product. Let us know what you find out. I bought mine through Amazon so I am not sure what is my next step.........Thanks......
Ok, I talked to them and they were really great. They are sending me a replacement (and a prepaid label to return the one I have). They offered me a choice of replace or partial refund but I want to try a replacement. I told them I had photos of the camera port and the way the pictures came out and they very nicely asked if I wouldn't mind sending those in and thanked me in email for doing so.
I didn't not ask them about the leather being a bit thick (for my liking) or it getting scuffed already. I've read the reviews on Amazon and I don't really see anyone else mentioning this or thinking it's a problem. I'm hoping some folks on here get theirs in so we can see if there is a "space" difference between the og and Prime and maybe that is why it's not mentioned?
I think that is going to have to be a judgement call on my part. Dangit - if they had just made the bottom part hold the tablet with nice straps it would be fine, but the fact that it scuffed leather after one day ... seems to me like it is too tight. On the other hand......my friend looked at it, said he thought it looked fine and that it was leather - it would "break in" and flex. If I thought I would ALWAYS have the dock with it, I might be tempted to cut the dang leather off the bottom, but you can't really do that or the tablet will fall out with the dock gone. If I keep it, I might end up rigging it after a while anyway
Like I said - it's a nice case, very functional, it does add bulk, but anything we get that carries both will do that.
Ok...pictures. I used a toothpick for reference, you all have one of those and can tell for yourselves how far on will go in the small space between tablet and dock
Yeah, the case didn't fit my tablet and dock perfectly either. But their customer support is nothing short of amazing. I just emailed them, showed them a photo of the problem and they are sending me a replacement (they shipped it the same day I contact them). Should be getting it soon. Best thing yet is they don't even need me to return my defective unit.

Same here - they shipped it out and I have a tracking number the same day I called.
I didn't think they wanted the defective one back either, but in their email they wrote " A prepaid label will be included with your shipment for the defect". So.....I guess they want it back. Which is fine of course. I'm just not sure what they will do with it cuz I really don't think they are going to use it to make any changes or anything.
Well, I got my replacement. They did not end up sending a pre-paid return label so they don't want the defective one back apparently.
However the new one is worse than the first one as far as the camera port hole goes. It is obviously cut VERY wrong. So now both have been off very far towards the flash, covering parts of the camera lens. I realize i wont be using my camera very often, but I have noticed that it's rarely "planned" when I DO want to use the camera.
I also still have a big concern about the leather being so think between the dock and tablet. If everything else were perfect, I would likely rig it. I'd probably just cut it off. This would really only present a problem if you were to have the tablet without the dock because the tablet could slip out of the case with the having that section secured, but I'd just not use that case without the dock then (I have several other cases)
This is the perfect case for the combo, but it is flawed
Funny thing is - I received my other Minisuite case and LOVE it!! The ports and camera holes are perfect. It's the 360 degree rotating one (does not accommodate dock). I think, obviously, all these cases that look the same are made by some company in China, and then stamped by companies here. But for some reason the template they used for the nice leather keyboard/tablet combo is just not right.
Pretty much my experience, I do not believe they had an actual Prime in hand when they designed this case. Not pleased overall and waiting for better options.

UPDATED 8/19: Custom, thin, snap on case

Custom Hard Case for TFP + Dock
This is a thread exists to explore the possibility of creating our own custom thin hard case for the Transformer Prime. Currently, there is no manufacturer out there who does it so we've taken it into our own hands.
FAQ, PLEASE READ, IMPORTANT INFORMATION BELOW:
1. What is it?
This will be a thin, plastic, snap on case for the Transformer prime and the dock.
2. How can I get it?
Please fill out the following form to be included in the list of people who want the case. IMPORTANT: I'm sorry but the old survey has been deleted and a new survey with more relevant questions has been created. Rather than sending emails or PM's to everyone on the list individually to gather additional info (not everyone gave a username or email), it will just be easier for me to collect the information all at once. Plus it will weed out those that are no longer interested. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dHVXVWNNa0NnVDlFRGFQVlp3aDh2cmc6MQ
3. How much will it cost?
Currently, I'm aiming for no more than $30 a case to compete with other cases out there but until I find a vendor who is willing to take on a low volume job, this is still up in the air. A preliminary quote from an online parts manufacturer had it at $100 a case! So if anyone works in the plastics or injection molding (or even rapid prototyping) industry, shoot me a PM. UPDATE: Cost will be $20 shipped. Kickstarter page will be up by 8/18/2012
4. When can I get it?
As soon as I get a plastics vendor and finalize the case dimensions and geometry, I can give you an estimated date of completion. I have a full time job and many other commitments so I apologize if I can't move this project along faster. It takes time (and a bit of sneakiness) to get my prototypes printed at work. Update: Waiting on update from manufacturer on the timeline.
5. What colors will this be available in?
Again, once I get a plastics vendor, I can see what colors the majority of us want.
LAST NOTE: Please be patient. I have no desire to abandon the xda community and your interest in this project, especially when you have all been so supportive. With that said, I'm only one man doing this in the little spare time I have....not to mention it's my first time being an active participant in xda (look at my post count) as well as designing, manufacturing, and distributing a product all on my own. So give me some time, and those that are willing to wait will be rewarded.
UPDATES
All past posts have been reorganized, with the most recent post being at the top:
--EDIT 8/19
Kickstarter has been submitted for approval! Check out the link here! This will be live (with a video!) once kickstarter approves the project.
--EDIT 8/11
Kickstarter Postponed to August 18 because Amazon Payments account registration (required to start a kickstarter) takes 7 days. This is at the latest, may have this live earlier since I registered this past Thursday.
Stay tuned. Will update thread as soon as kickstarter goes live. Everything is ready. Thanks for your patience.
--EDIT 8/9
dear xda tfp community,
it's been a tough couple months for me (hence the lack of an update) but without getting into specific details, i no longer have access to CAD or 3D prototyping capabilities i really apologize for the lack of communication and i know many of you are eager to get a case.
before everything in life changed for me, i managed to [sneakily] backup the models i made of the case so i'm still going to finish this, even if it kills me. i won't abandon you guys, you've been understanding and supportive throughout this process
so here's the situation. my contact in china tells me it will cost $7150 in tooling costs to be able to make the case. the case itself will cost $1.60...meaning if i get 500 people to sign up, it'll be about $16 a case which is my target. bear in mind, this yields NO PROFIT for me.
the problem is that I only have 150 signups, which makes each case $50.
Unless everyone is ok with that (i doubt it) we need more people. that is where i am right now. the only solution that i can think of this is to make a kickstarter so there is financial commitment from everyone that wants in. the kickstarter will be live by THIS SATURDAY. once it goes live, i'll update this post again and will need your help to promote it to all the folks who aren't on xda. please note that the kickstarter price will be $20 a unit to account for kickstarter and amazon's fees as well as shipping.
TL;DR...life got messed up, i still love xda so this project WILL get finished. kickstarter for project will go live on saturday. sorry for being MIA.
--EDIT 6/21
Update: I've found a vendor in in China that's able to produce these for an agreeable cost! I just received a quote so it will still take time for them to produce the tooling needed to make the cases.
Once I get a prototype returned from them to sample the material and ensure it's to spec (and post pics), I'll set up a kickstarter so people can fund the order for the cases. Or i might just purchase a bunch and sell it that way since kickstarter actually charges a percentage for all successfully funded projects.
TLDR: FOUND VENDOR. WILL UPDATE WITH CONCRETE TIMELINE ONCE CASE MATERIAL IS VALIDATED.
--EDIT 5/8
Finally have a case that fits. Here are some pictures...next task is to have the dock case made. Case thickness has been reduced to 1.75mm. I think i might push it down to 1mm but we'll see. 3D prototyping material isnt too strong but I'm pretty sure our finished production case will be 1mm or thinner.

Finally got the prototypes! here are the pictures. The scale is a bit off so they didn't really fit perfectly but since I have a physical object in my hands, nailing down the dimensions and having it perfectly fit will be easier from here on out. I will tweak the model and have another round printed out for next monday, when I will be in the office. Until then, enjoy! (By the way, i will be sending out a survey for colors and textures soon so everyone who filled out the google form, look out for a message! If you haven't filled it out, click here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dHUxa3B2U0FsX01vOXNodVBack44S2c6MQ)
--EDIT 4/20
Yea I know it's not 4/20 in the US yet, but I'm overseas in Switzerland where it is 4/20. Plus i couldn't wait until tomorrow to update so I'm doing it now
Here's the picture of the dock case finally! I know it looks pretty simple but if you take your dock and flip it over, you'll notice the curves are all blended into each other and arent too straightforward. Plus i'm measuring it all with a caliper and ruler, nothing else. No 3D models to go off of...it's quite difficult!
1. Overall view
2. Side view
3. I made the chamfer for the SD card slot opening small so it would be more recessed to prevent any SD cards from popping out.
4. Added a Macbook-esque cutout to make it easier to open and close the dock+tablet.
ANDD here's the two pieces together. Random colors to differentiate between the two, not actual production colors (though if the masses vote for it, we can certainly see if this matte metallic blue would be possible)
I sent this off to be printed and should have it by Monday the 30th when I finally return to the States. My coworker should be bringing the tablet side of the case over to where I am by next Monday so I should have pictures then!
Until then, remember to fill out this form and to hit the thanks button if you can!

--EDIT 4/19
Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about this. I'm currently in Switzerland until the end of the month which is why I haven't been able to take pictures of the prototypes which are finished (how frustrating!) and sitting on my desk in Jersey. I'll try to see if I can get my coworker to bring them next week when he comes. For now, I will have pictures of the Dock model done by tomorrow so stay tuned!
Thanks for all the support everyone! 78 of you have already signed up which is great considering I was originally just going to print a case just for myself! Remember to keep filling out this form if you want in:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dHVXVWNNa0NnVDlFRGFQVlp3aDh2cmc6MQ
Once I have verified the prototype will work, I will begin taking votes on the surface finish/colors/configurations etc.
--EDIT 4/13
3D printer at work apparently failed twice to print it. Tech guy said he can have it by monday, but I will be out of the country for work from the 15th until the 30th. I know i promised pictures by today...but unfortunately, unless you want pictures of failed print jobs, I won't be able to get pictures until the 30th.
Fret not though!... instead I will be working hard during the next two weeks to get models of the dock and other variations (origami cover model, one with a kick stand etc) done as well and submit those models for printing so that I can have them all on the 30th. Consider this delayed gratification...you'll get them all at once instead!
On a side note, I do not own an origami cover and can't accurately measure dimensions from pictures so if someone has one that they can do measurements for me for, shoot me a pm
--EDIT 4/11/12
I've created a form for those interested...this will be my point of reference for who might be interested so please fill it out if you want in. As of right now, I'm focusing on making a case that would fit with the dock. If I have time later, I will consider the other requests of having built in stands or ones compatible with the origami cover.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dHVXVWNNa0NnVDlFRGFQVlp3aDh2cmc6MQ
Also, as promised, here are some quick teaser pics of the case. Wall thickness is about 2.25mm (Will be thinner if we use different plastic...the 3D printer uses soft plastic so I had to beef up the thickness a bit. Expect final wall thickness to be sub 1.5mm). Also sent my design in to be printed by this Friday. Hit the thanks button if you can! This took a bit of time to mock up and 3D print material ain't cheap!
Original Post:
Just wondering if anyone would be interested in a custom, thin, hard case for the prime and the dock. No one makes a thin case...they're all either leather slip-in type cases or bulky rubber+plastic cases that dont show off how attractive and thin the prime is.
I'm thinking along the lines of this:
http://www.amazon.com/Ultra-iPhone-Transparent-Clear-Around/dp/tech-data/B002NGEFSC
Basically something that's thin and keeps the curves and the form factor of the prime that will stop it from scratching and whatnot. I have a 3D printer at work and would be fine with designing a model of it and testing it out. Once i have the form factor down and there's enough interest, I could set up a kickstarter or send it off to be made in bulk. I'll be posting pictures of the progress on this original post once i get my design done.
--edit: doesn't have to be clear either. im sure we can kick around ideas like this: https://www.speckproducts.com/tablet-ipad-cases/ipad-2-cases/pixelskin-hd-wrap-for-ipad-2.html ...especially if speck isn't going to do it.
If its possible, I'm down
In like Flynn! As much as I like my Poetic case, I really wish there was a simple & thin case like the HP TouchPad ones or even the iPad1 OEM case. As long as it can stay installed while the TFP is docked I'm all for it. I had briefly considered the origami Asus cover but having to remove it every time I want to dock it just wasn't for me.
Would be very much interested in a thin sturdy non-leather case that would provide various viewing angles.
OMG I would LOVE this!
And if you somehow got it to work with the keyboard, that'd be amazing :O
This would be amazing. But would it be possible to include a kickstand? If not I'd still be interested.
I'd certainly be interested. Subscribed.
it sounds like a good idea.

Would be interested for sure. Maybe a frosted matte finish....
Me 2, +1
It sounds like a great idea. I'm in. I've been thinking of this same thing but none available.
Don't mix all in one. Maybe produce more than one for separate functions.
One minimalist slim snap on for max protection and form factor.
One compatible with dock
One that is like the speck which allows for front and back cover and angled typing or kick stand angle.
I know its ambitious but I think your onto something pretty serious here mate. Show us some mock ups.
Cheers.
Yeah and make it compatible with the transleeve. I know it six but I'm hoping an aftermarket one will be made

been looking for something like this.. with kickstand will be nice +1
What kind of order size would you need to produce and what price point would work out for you?
I'm certainly interested. There are tons of cases that work with the dock, so I would personally focus on tablet only since the idea here is to stay slim. Another option to clear could be a thin, textured black plastic like some of the iPad cases have to aid in grip, though I'm not sure that would be possible on a 3D printer.
Thanks,
Ben
*edit*
Couple of thoughts if you decide to go down this road:
Make sure the gap around the charger port is large enough for the USB dongle for those not using docks
Watch out for the headphone jack, too, since many connectors are slightly wider than standard
A single hole around the flash and camera lens will keep from shadowing the lens when the flash goes off (I.E. don't make two holes)
I can take a picture, but I have an iPad case similar to this I picked up at Five Below. It "clips" on the edges, very slim, and probably an easy model for a 3D printer

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I will updated the original post when I get mockups and a prototype printed out.
No worries on the ports, I will be making very generous chamfers around each of the openings to allow for a variety of peripherals.
As for now, I'm focusing on making a thin case for the tablet and the dock combined but there's no reason why we can't have other variations.
preferably with some sort of lock for the microsd slot, or just leave it covered (easier) for security since some ppl said that they lost their microsd that jumped out by itself.
I would buy something like this if someone made it, preferably in clear TPU.
If someone made something like this that also included a screen cover similar to the Transleeve or Apple's smart cover, I would buy 2 or 3 (make sure it stays over the screen with a snap or magnets!)

Thought about this too, but if the chamfer on the opening for the card is small enough, you would retain access to the card without compromising on security. That way you wouldnt need to remove the cover every time you wanted to swap the card
Anyway, we'll see once i print out a prototype
I would love to have a clean case for my prime and dock. I have a bulky one that works but its huge. just something to cover it while its closed and you can still remove it from the dock and put it back with out extra steps.
Yea a clear one like the one in the apple photo wuod be nice.

Backplate replacing covers

I'm starting this thread because I'm interested in finding covers and cases that attach to the phone as a replacement for the backplate, thus keeping it as trim as possible. The only one I've heard of is Samsung's own original covers, but I'm hoping there'll be others.

Sorry for being the third thread on this topic. I did a search, but didn't find anything specific on backplate replacemnt cases. Did find various on wallet and flip cases. Even if Samsung is taking forever, hopefully other manufacturers will jump in. But perhaps the backcover is patented?

I've been spending ages looking for the same thing. Definitely not a patent issue. There are literally hundreds of pages of various Note 3 covers on Amazon, many of which are replacement battery doors. Problem for me is that most are window cases claiming to be "S-View", none of which actually work with the s-view functionality. If I can't get a working S-View then I'd rather not have a window at all. I'm not sure about the official Samsung cover because it looks like it makes the phone much bigger by thickening the back to extend over the camera, and I want it slim as possible.
Best options I've seen so far look to be these:
http://www.amazon.com/Practical-COV...=1384427137&sr=8-53&keywords=n9000+flip+cover
There's also this:
http://www.amazon.com/Practical-COV...84428841&sr=1-200&keywords=n9000+battery+flip
http://www.amazon.com/Black-Cover-B...1384427417&sr=8-278&keywords=n9000+flip+cover
Final interesting one is this, which is the first 3rd party case I've seen which claims to properly support S-View. Looks pretty much identical to the Samsung case though:
http://www.amazon.com/YESOO-Leather...F8&qid=1384429365&sr=8-1&keywords=n9000+yesoo
Please let me know if you turn up anything else interesting, as it sounds like we both want the same type........

Thanks for all of your suggestions.
S-View support in the case would certainly be nice, but it is not a top priority. My priorities are:
1) Back cover (battery cover) replacement, not an outer attachement.
2) Some pockets for cards and bills, actually the outer front cover could come with a foldout for more cards and bills.
3) S-View support
I have an original Note and the case has two slits for cards and a long slit for bills, but it also comes with an outer attachement cradle, and that is a little too much bulk to be really comfortable. Since the Note 3 is thinner it would be real nice to utilize that for a better case experience this time around. Hence, I'm not that particular about price, although I believe the original Samsung S-View cover is waay overpriced, I have ordered one just to establish a base line for what is available out there.
I have started to encounter vendors that lets me use the NFC for payment, but lets face it, this will take at least a decade to take hold. In the meantime I still need to carry around some credit cards and bills. Some day I can hopefully start my car and open my doors with my Note 6.
Sent from my GT-N8010 using Tapatalk 4
I ordered and received a S-View case. The backplate is removed to attach the new case, it has two connectors that will allow you to use the S-View feature and charge it with wireless Qi chargers. There are no pockets for cards or bills, but the S-View window is a usable feature, it has two windows, swipe from right to left, the first shows time, date, weather and in my case a step counter, the other is for music, action memo and camera. The material is a leather like plastic that feels sturdy enough to withstand a smaller drop (not planning on testing that) and an added benefit is that the Note will fit in Samsung's multimedia dock with the covert attached.
Hopefully, third party vendors will come out with even more usable covers over time.

I Think that is just for Docomo line. The volume button is different from our model.
Hey all I actually emailed them about 2 days ago asking about shipping to Australia, they are fine with international shipping. From what they sent all they require is a name, what you want and pay via PayPal. I'll be making my order soon, cost of shipping is $12USD to aus, if that sheds some light on shipping expense, by way of EMS.
Also I believe there is no difference with model apart from badging, a fellow who has it in the other thread has a international z2 and is located in Taiwan.
Wow those are gorgeous cases, indeed .
wow,.... that's a really nice case,.... i don't know about paying 72 bucks and plus the $12 for shipping,...

I completely agree with you ☺. But regardless, that is one beautiful case. I am looking for a bumper for this phone but I can't afford to pay Thai much for a case. Lol.
I really wish someone would make these aluminum bumpers in carbon fibre or something other than signal blocking metal. I have a couple for my ultra z and notice I lose about 1-1.5 bars of signal which means I have no signal many places. Also seems like I get about an hour less battery (probably because of the signal issue. They look really nice though!
Alright, so I need to share my experience regarding this bumper.
It initially came to my attention when searching for bumpers/cases etc, but at first I figured it was beyond what I was willing to pay for it. I did not want a full case or TPU skin etc, as I wanted as much of my phone 'naked' as possible, while getting some minor protection from everyday bumps, dragging across tables and various Jeep related bounces. A bumper was what I wanted.
I tried a cheap one from ebay. It came within 2-3 weeks, and was what you expected. Cheap, and I felt almost decorative. A drop would knock it off, as it uses a clasp s screws. It was also very thin, so it flexed while on the phone around the port openings. I couldn't complain, as I got what I paid for.
That brings me back to this bumper. I had already decided on the Amber Orange one long ago when I dreamt of it, so I simply sent out a semi-serious email via their site with some basic inquiries to pricing, shipping, stock, etc.
-AUG 30 - Initial contact via site form, I got a response within hours via email.
-AUG 31 - I was sold, and had them invoice me, and paid it shortly after receiving it via PayPal.
-SEP 1 - I received an email stating it was shipped, provided the tracking number, and they included photos of the package, the item, the shipping label, and the invoice.
-SEP 2 - I see it has left Japan and was enroute to Canada.
-SEP 3 - Just after midnight, it clears customs, goes through Toronto, Mississauga, then heads to my town which is about an hour/hour and a half away. I missed delivery today at 11am, as I was at work...
It was packaged in an airmail envelope, which contained a brown cardboard box, which contained a store quality box container, which contained a small material bag, which contained my unit.
I was amazed how fast this whole communication to unit in hand took. Each step of the way, communication was fast and efficient, and more than adequate.
The unit itself went on like a glove. There are no gaps, no flex, and no misalignment. Even the port cutouts have a bit of fingernail space to leverage into. It looks good, feels good, sturdy, and provides a bit of a lip for me to hold late at night while tired and wandering aimlessly. No noticeable signal loss, however I am in a great area to begin with, so this has never been an issue for me.
I am extremely pleased with this purchase and product.
Cheers all.

Hi all!
I have ordered this case a few weeks ago.
It went almost a same as been posted before. They were very friendly and really fast. It took about 30 minutes until they've dispatched the case.
I had a nillkin tempered glass at the front and the back. However if you gonna order this case you will see the way how they made this case the room at the back is smaller about 1-1 mm. So if you want a glass protector at the back you need to order one from them.
This is the only complication what I had, the case is perfect fit. I think it's totally worth the price.
I have attached a few pictures.
Thanks for the photos! Did you worry about scratching the phone at all? Their site says it's a possibility due to manufacturing constraints.
Scratch
Before this bumper, I have tried a cheap lovemei one, which indeed managed to scratch the phone.
I was very upset at first but what can you expect from a £4 case?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LOVE-MEI-...lePhonesCasesPouches&var=&hash=item3ce334f6ef
The Alumania is a bit pricey yes, but I just checked the phone, no new scratches so far.
I think the main difference between the two bumper is that the lovemei loose on the phone so it can move while the alumania is tight. It's important because the quality of the lovemei is cheap so it's constantly rubbing the phone that means scratching. Cheap metal bumpers are bad idea, if you care about the scratches.
Cheers
Great, thanks!
Might order me one on payday.

I have asked them the same question. But I think this is better than copy their answer here.

Case with magnetic ring built in

I purchased a oneplus 6t a few weeks ago and am now looking for a case with a built in magnetic ring. I have a magnetic mount that I really like using and after my last flight I decided I really want something that can prop my phone up. Funny how little things made me change my mind about the screen size and having a kickstand of sorts. Anyways, I've been looking on Amazon and all the cases I see look like clones of each other and the ones that people review on mention how it is flimsy, provides poor protection and the ring breaks after 4 days. Also the text, auto focus and ultimate experience really turn me off on getting the case.
Currently I'm using the case that came with the phone and I put a ailun magnetic keyring in the back but the bump is starting to annoying me when I place the phone down. Any suggestions?

I ordered the one you're talking about. Comes in next week. I'll try and remind myself to post back to here with my results.

Yes, I also ordered that same one from Nillkin through Giztop last week or so .along with their H+Pro screen protector. Hopefully, it will be worth the wait if it ever gets here that is.I will be sure to post my opinions once I get it.
Hope you guys aren't disappointed when you get them. I was looking at possibly getting them, but noticed the case is for the OP6, not 6T. And if you look at the title/description, it says 6, and later 6T, very inconsistently.

I ordered my case from ebay, has not arrived yet but the seller is trusted. I have purchased all my cases from the same buyer, takes 2 weeks to get in Finland. And this one is for the 6T, not the 6.
The same casemodel for LG G6 was total rubbish, very flimsy and cheap. But if the pictures are right, this one is totally different. I guess it depend from the shape and size of the phone.
Ok, I've had it on for a couple days now. I actually like it. I can see how it may not provide much protection to glass as the edges are pretty even with the glass. I used to have Loopy case and this is pretty similar. The ring on the back appears to be taped on with 3m tape, but pretty sturdy nonetheless. Works on my magnetic mounts as well. For the price, I say it was worth it for now. The oem case went over the glass too much making the edge difficult to access. Gonna stick with this case.
