[Q] Xperia Go: Boot into Recovery Mode - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi
Forgive me if this is the wrong forum (move if needed)
First time messing with Android OS/ROM
I have a Sony Xperia Go (ST27i with Android 4.1.2)
I aiming to deploy the latest kitkat ROM for this phone (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-u/go-development/rom-cyanogenmod-11-xperia-t2776873)
Have installed factory default, unlocked and rooted it. + made backup with NanDroid
Enabled Developer setting and USB debugging
FastBoot shows device and has access
I just can't figure out how to boot into Recovery mode and menu
Tried every possible key combination and duration while booting (or so I think)
Also tried QuickBoot, but "Recovery" button just reboots phone
Same with adb reboot recovery, it just reboots phone
What to do?

Solved
SOLVED:
Needed to flash Custom Recovery first. That did it

[Q] Unable to root/Install custom ROM in Huawei U8510

Tried everything!
The procedures mentioned to root or install CWM Recovery in Huawei x3 U8510 requires you to go to USB Debugging mode in Settings but my device does not have a working Stock ROM.
I am able to boot into the Stock Recovery mode (Volume + and power button) but unable to install CWM(tried several versions for U8510), SU, Custom ROM etc cuz it says signature verification failed even though I tried cmw zip files which were signed.
I tried going into download mode by pressing Volume - and power button that didn't work too. Even though the Huawei symbol came up I couldn't root the device using
Please Help!!!
P.S: I couldn't find any of the latest ROMs for this device too!
i managed it quite easy

hi mate dont know if you managed it yet but if you search google with the term u8510 root , its about the forth link down on the first page with the title "How to Root and Install ClockworkMod Recovery on the Huawei ..." (would post the link but wont let me as i aint been a member long enough) on that page scroll down and download the drivers, install with phone unpluged from computer, then plug phone in and it will install the drivers. then download the automatic root enabler and with the phone switched on as normal and plugged in the pc click the exe file and it will automatically shut down the phone and put it into fastboot mode, root it, install clockworkmod recovery and super user..... when the grey box with the text says finnish the phone will restart but is still in boot loader mode so make sure it says done at the bottom of the box unplug phone from pc, remove battery and put it back in to exit bootloader mode and switch on.
there you go its rooted and super user installed..... plus has clockwork mod recovery to install any custom rom you wish

This method makes my phone freeze at the bootup stage, the Huawei logo stays on the screen, while on the PC it says its <waiting for device> after trying to install clockworkmod recovery. Any ideas?

[Q] Help with root and recovery on HDC Galaxy S4 EX

Hi All
I have recently purchased two HDC Galaxy S4 EX phones which have the MTK6589T 1.5GHz CPU and 2GB RAM/32GB ROM.
I have been trying to get a CWM Recovery installed on it as well as rooting it but so far I have had no luck at all.
Firstly, I tried using MTK Droid Tools to modify a dump of my ROM and uploaded the recovery back to the phone using this procedure:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38337401&postcount=5
I did this by dumping the ROM off phone 1 (which I was avoiding starting up until I had a stock ROM backup) while I was playing around with phone 2. Phone 2 was booting into recovery mode by holding VolumeUp + Power and booting into a chinese factory mode by holding VolumeDown + Power. The recovery mode was very basic and did not have CWM.
So anyway, I dumped the ROM from phone 1 with SP tools, created a modified recovery image with MTK Droid Tools and downloaded that to phone 2. However I could not load either recovery mode or factory mode any more. No matter what key combination I tried the phone would just boot normally. I flashed back the unmodified recovery image and had the exact same problem. It wasn't until some time later I tried booting phone 1 and found it did not boot into recovery mode at all either . Unfortunately I only dumped the ROM from phone 1 and not phone 2 so I don't have a copy of the recovery image that seemed to boot ok on phone 2
So anyway, I have tried flashing a whole heap of recovery images from all sorts of HDC S4 sources but I have never been able to boot into any form of recovery mode with any of them. They ALWAYS just boot normally using either volume up or volume down. I'm not sure if that is because all of the images are for the 1.2GHz CPU instead of the 1.5GHz CPU.
The second problem is that I cannot root this phone at all.
I have tried the motochopper exploit which seems to be the only root option I have found for these phones (there are lots of options but they all appear to be the same tool).
When I run that root tool it copies the pwn, su and busybox to the phone fine but whenever it runs the pwn script it just comes up saying "Failure" without any explanation why.
The same thing happens when I try to use the root option with MTK Droid Tools.
So I'm at quite a loss right now, I can't get a CWM recovery image working and I can't get root....
I've tried flashing some of the HDC S4 ROMs but so far none of them have booted (I'm guessing because it is the MTK6589T model?).
The only option I have had is to flash back my original ROM dump.
Is there any way to alter a recovery image to change the boot keys it uses?
Are the boot keys even defined in the recovery image? is it maybe something else like the preloader or boot image I should be trying to change?
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, I can't wait to start customizing my own ROM for this phone... :victory:
OMG, I just found a random post somewhere for a completely different phone that stated the following:
Plug you phone with your pc with a usb cable (IMPORTANT STEP)
hold the power + volume down to enter factory mode
hold the power + volume up to enter recovery mode

So I plugged my phone into USB and it was able to boot into recovery correctly.
I must have had the cable connected the first time I was playing with phone 2 and always had the cable removed every time I tried booting the phone after a new recovery image flash.
I've flashed back the fist recovery image I created with Mtk Droid Tools and CWM is working perfectly!
Now the next trick.... trying to get it rooted....
I created a custom ROM with root installed in the ROM so all is good.
The ROM is available here:

[Q] Stuck in boot loop, exhausted almost all optons

LG Escape running 4.1.2
here is the progression of events:
1. rooted device
2. root seemed successful and no malfunctions
3. backed up all apps and system data with Titanium backup
4. the lg escape has no way to unlock the bootloader, so I tried various other methods. one of which was entering recovery mode via terminal commands. this is basically a hard reset, and it wiped all my data
5. I restored all my apps and data from my external sd card with titanium
My best guess is this is where something went wrong
6. upon restoration it prompted me to reboot the device
7. reboot passes manufacturer logo, but resets when AT$T logo appears
8. as stated earlier, there is no way to enter recovery mode during boot.
9. there is a hard reset during boot, but mine will not work, as it requires touching buttons which do not seem to be active in my stage of the boot sequence
so, I understand this does NOT mean my phone is bricked, but I don't know how else to get it to boot back up, or what is even causing the boot loop, as I DO NOT HAVE ANY CUSTOM ROMS flashed. any help here is very appreciated!
EDIT: so I have attempted to use adb on my pc to reboot into recovery from there, but it occurred to me that while I was in recovery the first time, I never checked "usb debugging". as a result my adb console commands cant even see my device. any way to turn on usb debugging while locked in a boot loop?
also, I can get it to enter download mode. I was hoping I could just reflash the firmware to it without needing to enable usb debugging, but have no clue how to do that while locked out of the phone.
I realize this is a very specialized set of questions, but it is necessary to ask here as the most people will see it. im open to any ideas

i have now tried to flash the firmware while in download mode using a less than legitimately obtained lg R&D tool. however, i need V10F_00.kdz and i am facing a bit of censorship. any kind soul willing to host this file on dropbox or similar so i can download it?
Usually devices have a button combination to press when powering on to get into different modes. Maybe try searching for the button combination of your phone on Google? Try ' lg escape button recovery ' ?

[Q] boot loop & no command in recovery mode

hello
I bought a phone thl T6S, Android 4.2
today I tried to root it with vroot, and I think the root is gone well, also tested with root checker
after I tried to open rom manager and I have selected the option creates backup rom, but to do that I had to select the version of cwm I had, but unfortunately I had not installed any, but I selected the 3.xx.
rechosed create backup rom manager, the phone turns off and from this moment keeps boot looping in recovery mode by itself with the word "no command" and turn off alone,
I do not have the possibility to access the option of recovery mode ..
I can do something?
thank you
sorry for my bad english
