Missed Call Details - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

Like any good XDA2 owner, I have messed about with loads of utility programs, only to un-install them when they proved a waste of time.
Somewhere along the line, I have messed up my Missed Calls utility. If I miss a call, the red LED flashes for a while, and a balloon with lines appears at the top of the screen, to the left of the O2 symbol. When I click that, there is no info in it.
I am sure that this used to show me the name/number of a missed call. Any ideas how I can get that facility back?

In phone sreen, you can press call history button to see the detail of missed call.

Missed Calls Details
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I realise that the missed calls are logged in the telephone Call History page, but I was hoping the resurrect the facility to show the details on the desktop.
Has something gone wrong in the registry?

Surely in normal, you can see the caller's number there if you click on the balloon. Recently, I sometime also have problem with that, when I click on the balloon, the information board appears with one flash (no information displayed on that) then disappears immediately. I saw it after I install the spb Pocket plus 2.5. But after softreset, things will be OK.
Someone can help us?

Fast missed calls shown as Uknown

hello again.
i dont really remember if atom exec had the same issue with WM5.....
now i have jiggs latest rom
and i noticed that when a friend makes me a very short term call the number doesnt show up instantly......so if the caller hangs out too early the number of the missed call is shown as ''Uknown''
p.s. let me explain what i mean short call......here in greece when we want to just notify someone that we are thinking of him/her we just ring his phone once and then hung the line.
or in other occasions when we are going to meet each other at a certain place certain time we make that type of call to notify we are there
is there any solution to the problem?
Yup, same here. Unknown for the few seconds and the real caller no will display afterward. If we using call filter such as CallFirewall and we put some contact to be filter, the caller still get through due to it only filter the first display 'unknown' not the no. we assigned in the list.
bump.
if now there is no solution can i at least hope that jiggs and other rom cookers will try and search a bit about the problem?
thnx in advance fellas
I have the same issue with my Atom as well. Original WM5.
yeah, me too with original wm5
it's annoying
Dummpp....
there is an OLLLd solution for that! And works just great.
It is called: SMSDrFix
(there is a wm5 version that also works flalessly on a wm6 device)
Just install it, configure it (it is a program), reset the device and youre done!
cheers
Where can we find it...please help
Here it goes chap..
But I think this solves something else.. like when you send a SMS and you receive delivery report. Then it shows only the mobile number in the report. what it does is pick up the name of the person from the address book and show the name instead of the mobile number.
So I am not sure if it works for short missed calls or not. for short missed calls ATOM can't sense the mobile number for some reason. That's why shows unknown..
Anyway... have fun...
Regards,

restricted calls... anyway to do this

First, WITHOUT USING ANY 3RD PARTY APPS
If someone calls from a blocked/restricted number, is there any function in the Titan that would allow me to set it to not ring (or to only vibrate, or have a special ringer for only restricted calls)? I tried making a contact called restricted, but that didnt work.
Second, if the above is not possible, what are some 3rd party apps that I might try? I never pick up blocked calls, and I dont even want to hear it ring.
It's not exactly a 3rd party application, more like a service; check out www.youmail.com . If somebody with a blocked number calls me, it says "the number you are calling does not take calss from unidentified callers, please hang up and reveal your number."

Ummm.... There has to be a million. Ok not that many but seriously There are even some that are developed on XDA! I could find that one though ;c(
Here is one that is pretty popular. Im sure others will chime in with there favorites too.

I could swear I had done this in the past.... But I cant figure it out now.
You can try Ringo... it might do the trick...
http://ringomo.com/windows.php
If you dont want to hear it ring... I recommend SPB Phone Suite...
It has a blacklist feature to ignore calls.. ignore and never ring.
Also it has a great today plugin for showing your vmail, unread messages.. etc (I recommend turning off the big buttons though.. the default look is ugly IMHO)
And my favorite feature, you can set the phone to vibrate, or silent for a period of time (5 mins, 15mins, 30 mins.. etc) This is a life saver since I often need to silence my phone for meetings, and then a few hours later I realize... I have 20 missed calls because I never set it back.
### Edit ###
I just set SPB Phone suite to blacklist "Private" calls.
I then blocked caller ID and called from my home phone... Nothing.. no ring, no flash, the phone ignored it.
It did ring on the callers end the normal number of rings before going to vmail... I.E. it didn't go right to vmail like when you hit ignore.
Superb. SPB Phone Suite does exactly what I want with regards to calls from blocked numbers.
Thanks!

This site is very slick. Thank you for sharing it.
To test ignoring calls I added my desk phone number to the block list. I called it up, my phone woke up, but never rang and didn't give a notice of a missed call. My desk phone was greeted with the message I left it on youmail.com which happened to be the default smart greeting. Very very cool to have this feature without installing a thing on my phone.

Is there any way to turn my cell phone into an auto dialer?
Somehow have maybe an excel file loaded with names and numbers (scrubbed against a do not call list)
Plug that list into the dialer and the cell keeps dialing numbers.
When someone picks up a screen pops up either on a pc or the phone that displays the persons name and phone number with the ability to write notes.
After the call maybe hit a button and the process picks up where it left off.
I know a ton of people who would pay for something like this.

[Q] Is it possible to determine when user clicks on missed call notification

hi all,
is it possible to receive some broadcast from system when user clicks on missed call notification?
I have been searching for at least a day now without any luck...Here is what I am trying to achieve.
I want to start some action as soon as last missed call is noticed (done).
But then when user clicks on the missed call notification (which shows the phone number and detail) I want to stop the process that I started earlier.
I see that in logcat every time when I click on missed call and it shows the caller info, I see the following entry
//12-11 07:10:19.764: INFO/ActivityManager(2482): Displayed activity com.sec.android.app.dialertab/.calllog.DetailViewActivity: 173 ms (total 173 ms)
Thanks
any one? (Bump)
I guess what you are asking is a pretty complicated thing.
However I would suggest you to wait a response from a more experienced dude than me.
Thanks.
Well its too sad that after 3 days no response..:-(
So since did not get any response, therefore I resorted to be creative. What I have done is set a broadcast receiver when user unlocks the screen and then do whatever I need to do. Currently I think its a fair assumption that when user unlocks the screen, at that point they have seen the missed calls notification hence I presume they are checked or cancelled. I hope some one still provide me the actual answer to my question..I'll wait and see

[Q] Samsung mega ringing problems

My samsung mega doesn't ring only some time. If it doesn't ring the call will go to voice mail. If the caller hangs up before it goes to voice mail I never know I was called because it doesn't show a missed call in call log. I have read all I can find here and other places. However my problem isn't exactly same as I find. All sound is on and volume is up. I also know this since it does ring some time...
Now on the dialer pad on the # key there is a icon looks kinda like a speaker with a line through it. I can't remove it, what is it. Even though it is there the phone will still ring sometime.
From what I read I might have a software problem. Can I put the KIT-KAT on and perhaps solve the problem
Any help appreciated.
I posted this on the incorrect form a couple days with no answers. Probably because post was wrong forum.
