It depends on what you are changing to... in my case i would go from
Standard HTC Headphones
to
Senheiser MX200
So YES I will defenetly hear the difference. But if you don't have after market headphones, then I would not suggest to buy any converter....!!!!!
BTW 12dollar is kinda expensive....... Its only rerouting 3 wires i gues.

Headset adapter

I'm trying to find a good solution to use a wired headset on my 8525. I've heard mixed reviews. There are various usb->headphonejack cables out there but the descriptions are all a little misleading, like this one saying you can plug anything in, such as your favorite pair of stereo headphones:
http://store.xda-developers.com/seidio-audio-adaptore-miniusb-to-3-5mm.html
I've heard mixed reviews about using wired headsets and the quality (which I find strange seeing as wired should be better than wireless...). Anyway, what are your opinions? Do you have any specific recommendations for adapters?
Thanks, as always
Any sign of life out there?
i believe it's unclear if you are looking for openions about converters or wired headsets
Converters... The headset is the easy part. I just want to know if a usb2headphone thing will work with a headset for conversations (not just for earphones/listening to music...
I've got one of these little inexpensive HTC USB to 3.5mm adapters (no mic) and my 8525 sounds as good as any device I've used with a decent set of headphones.
I've also just ordered this, which looks pretty cool, so that I can have a mic and good headphones without having to make it myself out of the HTC supplied unit - which I've seen other people on these forums do.
Check ebay, or better yet, check out the xda-dev store.

In Ear hands free?

Hi,
I currently have the problem of my handsfree cable from the G1 being too long. This is because I am plugging in my own earphones into the long mini usb cable with headphone jack and the result is a massivly long cable.
I don't like the earphones which come with the phone. I prefer to use In ear earphones.
Does anyone know of any HTC Handsfree kits which come with in ear earphones? Incase anyone doesn't know what I'm talking about (they could be called something different in the US) In Ear Earphones look like this:

}
I am aware that there are short Mini USB to Headphone Jack adapters but I would prefer something with a microphone also.
However, I am very interested in one of these:
http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/S9/
But have been told the G1 won't currently support them? Is there no patch or something which will allow you to wirelessly stream music via bluetooth from the phone?
We are all waiting on google to finish up the bluetooth specs. Currently the G1 only supports the headset and handsfree profiles. A2DP and the others are comming, hopefully soon.

We've just tested this headset with San Francisco, the quality with this in-ear earphones are generally better than the original ones (but not as good as the one bundled from Galaxy S), answering button is working properly too.

Earphone problem

Hi,
I have a problem with my earphones, they both have the same plug. But the right one is not recognized by the Xperia S. What to do about it? Will custom roms be able to fix this?

Disagree. Xperia S uses the CTIA plug, same as most phones out there.
I used beats with the in-line mic and they work fine. For some headsets you need to cold the call button on the headset as you insert it, then it recognizes just fine.
FYI, this was already extensively discussed. SEARCH BEFORE YOU POST!!!!!

Philips Headset App for thrilling thumping sound

So i bought a new pair of Philips headset from a local shop and was searching for an app to utilise the headset buttons for player control.
I stumbled upon this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.philips.cl.headset&hl=en
The app is a great tool to enhance the sound quality of the phone through headphones. Just go to 'Sound' option and adjust the cursor for best suitability. I took it towards 'Powerful' and the thump or bass it gives on any headphones is just too good to be compared with any other app out there. I use Playerpro Pro and equalizers are kept off. Dont want to talk much abt controls as they work as any other general headset app.
It is especially useful in case of those ordinary (including Samsung) headphones which dont really produce as much as thump or bass as professional headphones. I also have 'Twinwoofers' headphones which dont require any such enhancement as the bass is already so powerful. But for any other not so professional headphones i recommend this app.
Do give your feedbacks.
