hi, try bajok's ROMS . been using one of his latest builds (28014 CleanLite) since it came out (15Dec09) and it's stable (for me at least). As for the battery consumption, i have not paid much attention as i use my phone heavily almost everyday. try it and find out for yourself.

Wow, thanks god! Finally there's someone has reply my thread. I'll try it and thanks anyway but i mean it's just only for 1st O2 XDA old Atom Black and not for O2 XDA Atom Life or O2 XDA Atom Exec!
Is there anyone knows again clean & stable WM6.5 ROM in low battery consumption for O2 XDA Atom?

I am using 6.1 from PDAVIET (Medkid) and so far is the best ROM in my opinion for O2 XDA Atom Life. I did not found a similar performing ROM in 6.5. I had to flash again and again to Medkid6.1 after flashing any 6.5 ROM.

I really don't think there is a good performing ROM in 6.5 as I'm yet to find one. I'm just sticking with 6.1 until something better is available.

Brew,
Well, most of the available WM6.5 for Atom have the bluetooth issue, being not able to send but receiving ok. Anyway, if you like clean and pretty much stable WM6.5, you can try Helloworld's B4 version and also a "tweak" version of the same ROM by Glossyx...so far this ROM's most clean, reliable and good battery life......

How long does the O2 XDA battery can stand for ?

Dear all,
I am a new O2 XDA user and I have one stupid question would like to ask:
I was upgraded the ROM to ver 4.00.05 (PPC2003) and Radio ver 4.21.00
The problem is I saw the battery metter from Battery Pack 2003 v5.0.6 on my XDA only have 2h36mr when it is fully charged. Does it is correct stand by time for O2 XDA ?
p.s. My O2 is brand NEW and I saw one of my friend's XDA battery metter from Battery Pack 2003 v5.0.6 have 3h45mr when fully changed.
Thanks & regards !
Also with O2 XDA ROM 4.00.05 (PPC 2003), RSU 4.21.00 and Battery Pack 2003 ver 5.06 : when it's fully charged it show : 3h36mr ...
You better go back to O2 , your battery seems to have a problem !!!
Just wait!
The battery is a lithium-ions-battery. In a brand new device it doesn't have its full capacity. Just use it for some days, charge it when its empty and you will see, that the time for use is rising.
When I started with BatteryPack 2002 v3.7 I had 1h55m. Now it is up to 3h25m.
So just wait and you will see it:
Greetings,
Kaputter
OK... thanks for the reply so quick !
I will try few more days, hope the problem will solved ! :?

I do not believe it to be very stable. I stick with 4.0.0.5b cross, witch is the best rom I found up to date. The cube isn't in this rom.
I am using PV 4.0.0.0.6 at 818pro and it dosen't hang so far, just got a auto turn on problems. anyway, this is the first Rom I tried.

Just for information, My Dopod 818 Pro was flashed to Gullum V6 and still monitoring the capability, after 2 days - everything works good even i change the pool size to 6MB. Just some little problem with the phonepad when i write down the sms and a calling is coming. the screen was freeze.. and i need to reset
yes it is the nicest rom yet but I confirm several random freezes that require reset.
keep it up gullum !
Yes, gullum V6 is the best rom that I have used up to know - and the freezing - i noticed that in most of the cases the system "unfreezes" after 2 minutes or so even without soft reset
Well the last Gollum V6 is not bad but i had some strange popup error messages while using TT6 (replog.exe, call something.exe), and sometimes the phone just freezes (I had Tomtom running and I tried to make a call and it just froze showing dialing)
im usein gulum's v6 its a good rom . but 4.0.0.0.5b is the best rom i think the battery consumption is very nice in that rom.
yes , 4.0.0.0.5b is the best ROM i have tried .... battery just 4% for a day if you don't use it ....
Definitively the PDAViet 4.0.0.0.5b is the most stable e bugless, dont have freezes, low battery consumption, and with Tomtom is very good. But this is my opinion
Pdaviet 4005B for sure. No problems so far, works stable
testimoni
I believe each ROM from gullum or PDAVIET has own plus n minus features and performance.
this is my testimony for each ROM :
A. PDAVIET 4.0.0.0.5b
- Very good battery life ( more than 3 days without charging)
- Some application doesn't work with this ROM, specially input device application such as phonepad.
- Speaker Sound not to clear.
B. Gullum V6
- Worse battery life than PDAVIET but still better than other ROM (2.5 half without charging)
- Battery indicator sometimes is mistaken.
- Fast application launching
- Good sound performance
But from all my testimony about these ROMs. They are very nice and suppose to be used by you other than original WM5.
Good Job to both of you.. Gullum n PDAVIET.
I am still waiting your best effort for new ROM release.
tb146,
when you mentioned sound performance, do you mean the built in speaker or also the sound going through the headphone jack?
Hi! I have a O2 XDA Neo.
I tried many ROms, but in no one its possible to have access to my Storage Card. What can I do?
Thanks
P.S: Where do I get 4.0.0.5b?`I don't know if I tried it, but I would like to test it again, perhaps I haven't load it down.
Shauni: is it really so hard to use your eyes? The 4.0.0.5b topic is a few lines beneath this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=321832
You know, sometimes its better to use the brain. Good luck
OMG! sry.... i didn't see it. really. THanks
The question aboput my problem you can't solve, or?
I can only suspect that the problem is with your SD card. Please describe it.
Using Gullum V6 since a week. Never had any freeze.
Faster and more stable than previous official WM5 ROM.
Battery drain is a little faster, though.

Hi there,
the sound come from the speaker, i never use the headphone.
Hi,
thx for the Response. I have a problem with the SD Card. Means, when I insert the Card, the File Explorer don't detect it. I tried some different cards, no one works.
Should I try another Rom?
I would like to use WM6 with Touch Flow <perhaps a 3D Cube?> and the office apps. Perhaps someone knows a good version with a working SD Support for my O2 XDA.
Thanks.

therea are more atom life cooked roms available on pdaviet.com, it's a bit hard to read through, since most text are written in Vietnamese.

is there any diference between atom battery, atom exec battery and atom life battery? because i want to chance my battery Thx.
I have been to the o2 service station as my phone needed repairs so i asked them to replace the batt life is really bad so they say there are batt issues for atom life so he said that there are no diff in these batt s all of them has same specs and he said i wont get XP-09 but instead i will get Xp-02 asa replacement so i guess they have just changed the batt name from xp-02 to xp-09 for fun !!!! and i tried to find the diff from the prev o2 site seeo2.com but there also the most wierd thing was the specs said xp-09 but the pic said xp-02 so !!!!!
What I have found out that XP-09 gives a better standby time than XP-02. The extra standby is nearly about 10-12 hours for me.
Atom running Diamond WM6.1
hey brian where did u get the diamond rom for ur atom
is it ? cause technically the spec says that both the battery are 1530mamp but i have found out the the xp-09 is a ion batt and xp-02 is a lithium ion and ppl say that the lithium ion battery are more advanced in terms of life and stanby !!! have u tried using a xp-02 battery???

Radio for Best battery and reception

Hi All,
I would like to know what radio people have found to have the best battery and reception. I ask because I have the stock 2.07.51.22_2 from Telstra and I have been thinking about upgrading but have no idea to which radio to go to.
Help would be appreciated
Look at the stickies in this forum and then read... after you have done that then hopefully you will realise that the best radio for battery and reception is very much down to the user of phone, what network they are on, which country they are in, where in that country they are, where the celltowers for their network are in relation to where they are and where they move between. In addition how you use your phone, for what and for how long also affects it.
If you still not getting it the only person you can ask your original question to is yourself because noone else lives your life and is in the places you are at the same time as you...

Dear Friend,
I tried all radio ROMs and almost all ROM's and came to the conclusion that the only one that is the best for battery XannyTech's EVOLUTION 2.0 ROM. With that ROM, I'm getting 3 days of normal usage with radio 2.10.50.08_2. Beside battery, the ROM is great.

True,
But I am not asking for people to make the decision for me. All I am asking for is people's experiences with different radio's to help me decide.

and as Starfury mentioned only you can answer that question
Flashing a Radio does not take long, so just download a couple and try them out for yourself to find out which fits your needs best. But dont forget to leave the Radio on for at least 2 or 3 complete battery cycles to let it settle down before going ahead to the next. I did this for myself as well (took a while but nevertheless) and now have 4 Radio Versions in a Subfolder on my SD card so that when i move around i can quickly change to a better Radio for the certain Task i need the phone to perform.
I found 2.10.50.x.x to be the best radio for battery use, this works wonders in standby mode, it hardly ever goes down on the meter.

i agree with radio 2.10.50.08_2 good reception and good battery..
I can´t second that.
I tried the 2.10 Radio too but i had no good battery. With 2.08.50_02 i had much better battery.
So you only can try some radios and find the best way. Some radios can be very good with a specific rom and be worse with another rom.
2.10.50.08_2 good reception and good battery
2.10.50.28_2 has good reception and battery life for me in Melbourne.

best radio for me too(reception & battery)
The entire debate on this question is subjective....the same Radio+ROM combo will not perform best for everyone "Worldwide"....
You may narrow it down Country-wise though...
thanks guys for all your responses. I have been able to chose a suitable Radio for my HD2. As I live in Australia I will be using 2.10.XX.XX radio as it seems to work best here.
Thanks again.
2.10.50.28_2 works perfectly in Canberra
How is battery life and reception on 2.12.50.02_2?
i just tried the new radio 2.14. Pretty good reception, when i go to the carpark, always no signal. However, after tried 2.14 radio, it will get at least signal for me to call out.... maybe you can try it.
2.12.50.02_2
I am using now 2.12.50.02_2 and i think it has improved the reception and the battery by aprox 20% vs the stock radio 2.05.51.05_2. In my room, with the old radio i had 1 bar of signal or none now i have al least one usual 2 and rarely 3. So for Romania i would say is pretty good so far.

[Q] Best ROM

Can someone tell me, by experience what's the best ROM regarding to battery life ?
The best way is experience your self.I am now on Cognition 1.7 and i am happy with it.Litening rom is also very nice .But the best way is try out your self
it's true but there's too much roms lool
anyways i'll try that you're using
tks
Hi,
I think cognition is the best
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
whilst others use villainrom and believe it enjoys better battery life.
Villian 1.4 is my ray of hope atm. Its amazing .
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
I like Litening Rom but asking for someone's opinion will get you subjective results. Just try them all. You'll become a flashahlic and it will be hard to go long without trying them all. Then when new versions come out, try those and so on and so on. Once you're hooked it won't stop lol
Just like SGS1 forum their is no best rom if their was a best rom their would be no other roms.
jje
You will have to try it yourself, which suits you more. I'm on Lite'ning rom and it's ok for me.
Lite'ning Rom v1.5 XXKF2
IMHO --> Lite'ning Rom v1.5 XXKF2
the best in terms of battery life ROM is the ROM after installing which you manage to configure the phone in the most optimal way.
Unless there is a glaring omission in some ROM, they are all pretty close to each other in terms of battery life, and your batt life will depend on how much bloatware you install in that ROM and how many services you enable.
