[Q] First try CyanogenMod. I need some help here - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. Noob on Forum.
I decided to Install CyanogenMod on my Xoom MZ601 model.
Bootloader unlocked, cwm installed, Cyanogenmod also installed without problem.
I use the last NIGHTLY-BUILD ---> cm-10.1-20130410-NIGHTLY-everest.
Now the problem. I tried to install gapps.
I downloaded the latest gapps for jelly bean 4.2.2 ----> gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip from goo.im/gapps/ (cannot write the complete url on the first post)
Install zip from sdcard etc using cwm. And everything seems to be perfect.
Except one. None google app is not installed. Or at least not shown nowhere on my apps.
Any idea what's wrong? How to fix that? I like jelly bean but I need gtalk, youtube, play store, google maps etc.

First u need add your Google account in phone setting> account.
Then just install YouTube, Gmail, maps etc. Those Google apps that can be downloaded from market aren't included in gapps flashable package.

I add my gmail account and I made again the gapp proccess. Still the same result. I have no problem to download all the apps from market. But I have not play store on my apps.

You have to flash the gapps at the same time as the rom as the gapps package has more then just app apks in it and it needs to be able to write to the proper areas.

How to do that? The first thing after installing ROM was to install gapps. I think that we are on a good way to find the solution :good:

When you flash the rom dont reboot, flash the gapps right after and then reboot. You will have to reflash the rom with a full wipe.

I made a wipe of disk and cache. I install rom and gapp. After, I rebooted, I add gmail account, I rebooted again and now I have News and Weather app on my apps but not play store.

I mean post the link you used to get the gapps zip file. if the browser FC then the zip maybe corrupted due to it being updated with the new play store

Try installing the new playstore yourself.

Can't Install Google Play Services on iDeaUSA YG A777 Tablet

My device:
I have an iDeaUSA YG A777 Android Tablet that is rooted. The version of Android it is running is 4.0.3.
My problem:
I updated the YouTube app from Google Play Store a few days ago. After it was updated, I tried to open it, but a message popped up saying that I needed to install Google Play Services and linked me to the app's Play Store page. Google Play Services downloads fine, but during the installation process, an error message pops up, saying:
"Incompatible with other applications(s) using the same shared user ID."
I don't have a custom ROM or a custom kernel; they're both stock.

- Try reboot?
- If nothing's working maybe have to try factory reset and sign-in again to your Google account.

Yep, I tried that. I did a factory reset and tried installing Google Play Services before any other apps, but no luck.

I tried wiping both the cache partition and the dalvik partition, but it didn't work.
The only two versions of Google Play Store that I've had on my tablet is the one that came with my stock ROM (I don't remember which version that was) and now the most current version of Play Store (3.10.10). Back when I had the stock version, I tried installing Google Play Services, but no luck. Obviously, I'm still having the same problem with the current version.
You could try mine play store/vendin.apk from here: http://www.androidworld.nl/forum/to...ent-7-rootedstock-rom-updated-17-11-12-a.html
Unpack *V2 rooted stock rom.

From what I can tell through Google translator (I don't speak Dutch), this is a page to download and install a custom ROM. I'm more looking for a way to fix my problem without having to get rid of my current stock ROM.
Thank you anyway, [email protected].

Then, if I'm not mistaken, it is a stock ROM for Tom-Tec tablets. In other words, it probably won't work, at least not properly, on my iDeaUSA YG A777 tablet. I would need a ROM, stock or custom, designed for my tablet if I'm to be able to replace my current stock ROM.
Regardless, like I said previously, I'd like to fix this problem without getting rid of my current stock ROM.
use titanium backup and wipe data for everything that starts from gooogle and then insert your account again..

No luck. Using Titanium Backup, I tried wiping the data of every Google app, but it didn't work. I then tried a mass data wipe of ALL system and user apps. However, I ended up with the same result.

[Q] No google email, play store, etc after install a custom ROM

Hey guys,
I just installed a custom ROM into my S2 but inside there are only basic applications and nothing related to link to google data or app inside. (Example: Google play store, Gmail, Google map, etc). i tried to install the google play store app in my phone and i opened the app, it auto close off. Can someone assist me?
Last time i facing this problem too and i resolved it by went to some webs that taught me to install something but now i cant find it. =((
Did you install *just* the ROM or did you install another package called Gapps too? From your description I'd say you forgot to install Gapps. Gapps is an acronym for Google Apps, and without it you won't be able to access ANY of the Google services. Go back to the original ROM thread and look for a link for Gapps. DL the file and follow the install instructions.......
Advice from the (semi) experienced.....
Next time, read the ROM thread thoroughly, and download everything it tells you to.....if the link is there, it's there for a reason.......

you defiantly should download gapps and install them using cwm, for more information search google for ''gapps''
Like mentioned above DOWNLOAD GAPPS for you ROM. Dont know wich ROM you have but
IF android version 4.1.0 then download gapps for that version. If you have version 4.2.1 then download gapps for that version.
that´s why you missing Playstore

There's also multiple gapps packages out there. You could find a much smaller one that only contains the bare essentials and then install what you want from the play store. The down side to this is that the downloaded apps will use up internal storage where as apps included with the gapps package will use up your system storage (seperate partition.. or at least it is for the N4, it may be different here).

Find the gapps package that you need for you're rom and download it on you're PC... then use 7zip or another like program to open the zip....only in archive.. only in archive... :good:...do not unzip/extract it... after you have it up on you're PC.. in a window with 7zip/ect...remove the apk's you don't want and close it... push it to the phone and flash away...
Just be careful what you delete... there is a minimal gapps package around... where you could see what you can delete and what you need..
I mean you could delete everything but the playstore stuff and be functional, but some apps will only work correctly if they are part of the system partition... you could then push them to system app w/rom tool box or a similar app...

It's pretty straightforward, there are several apps that do this. You can search in Baidu.com for Gapps and the apk will show up. Install it, press the big button and there you go. You can also find several tutorials in Youtube, if you don't know how the app looks like.
Alternatively, here's another tutorial with a different app: http://en.miui.com/thread-17910-1-1.html
somehow i'm able to install Gapps using the installer, i don't know what i did to fix it, anyway its all good now, btw the link you gave is for device that is not bootloader locked
The minimum set of Gapps are very easy to install with the help of this tiny online installer. It's in Chinese, but it's intuitive.

This is the tools that i was using when trying to install Gapps, and after countless of failed effort, somehow it works on its own, i don't know what happened
For me NewGoogleInstaller works flawlessly on all firmwares, including the latest 7.2.4.
yeah, but now i'd like to know how can i set google playstore as a default app store instead of Mi app store
Everything is installed following the process but I can't download any apps from the app store..

You must update Google services
And Google Play at the same time.

I did. Well, not exactly the 'same time' but I have updated them..Now, play store is just stuck at a loading circle screen.

Reboot your phone.
"At the same time" means can be done, but not necessarily.

Same here first time, but removed Google*, installed them again and it started working. I rebooted after Google login, Xunlei engine was disabled and download limit set to Unlimited.
it seem that after you login to playstore, you need to wait for a while for it to sync in order for you to be able to download apps, otherwise you'll get unable to contact server error message

Gotcha. Rebooting didn't change anything at first but I just kept rebooting (..a lot) and it seems to work now.

Xunlei engine is in Downloads apps settings.

the google installer worked to install the apps but they couldn't establish a connection to the servers. I had to restore my playstore and google apps from a titanium backup file I had and then it would work. So anyone not able to get on google apps try installing old titanium backups, it may work.
One thing to note with all of these is sometimes it just needs time.
After all, the play services and framework often have to register with Google and also update themselves (you're not guaranteed to get the most up to date version for each even with the installer).
I installed mine and they registered fine. But as soon as I tried to download an app from the play store I got weird errors.
Left it a day and boom, worked fine.

Lucky patcher is an "illegal" modifying utility . Kindly refrain from posting threads for such apps or you'll get banned permanently.

Omg okay thx ?. Didnt know
@Darekkk
I don't even want to quote your post because of the reference there.
You can wipe system, data, dalvik and cache, flash the ROM and Gapps (which contains PlayStore) again.
Did you make sure to move the official playstore apk to Priv-system apps folder. As per your post, I guess you have installed the official playstore apk as an user app.
