When on a call, I keep getting this annoying sound kind of like static sounding something like "pukk" ( hope someone got me). It comes just for a second. Nowadays its been happening more than 10 times on a call. Its really getting annoying.
The worst part is this sound comes only when on a call and sadly its not the phone speaker problem since I get it on my earphones too.
This is happening on Stock and ViperOne ROM and the handset is AT&T version which I have been using in India.
Can anybody help me in getting rid of this irritating sound while on a call??
If anybody can help me out here it would be great. Please voice your opinion.. Thanks.
If anybody is facing this problem please try putting another sim card of the same network and of a different network.
This solved my issue, my Sim card was not cut properly hence the disturbance.. Let me know if its d same case with you.

I think my s2 is of no use anymore.....nobody can hear me when i am on phone...everything was perfect till last night....but all of a sudden....call connects after several retrying....and when it connects,nobody is able to hear me....please guys i need help....i tried different roms too....tried different sim cards...i cant see my $600 go waste like this....
Check your mic by recording your voice with an app.
If that fails. Try speaker phone it uses a diffident mic. And try headphones. And try blue tooth.
Should give you an idea how deep the pool [email protected]#%* you are in.
the mic is working fine....it seems some internal/radio/modem failure.....
Maybe some network issue with your provider ? Call them and check if there is issue.
Try calling someone using skype and see if it works too.

Am I the only one experiencing microfone problems on my new galaxy S3?? Im on my third I9300, because of this issue...
People complaining about that the mic vol goes up and down...

First of all guys make sure 100% it's not the mic. Record some song and see if you still have the problem. I was facing similar issues with the mic going up and down durring calls.
In my case it was the simcard. Don't ask me why, because the same simcard was working fine in another phone, but after getting a replacement everybody said that they can hear me a whole lot better.

I am going through the very same issues.
I had a mic problem with my first S3 during phone calls. It was really annoying me because I couldn't do anything about it everyone was saying they couldn't hear me etc.
The sim I am using is an British UK O2 micro simcard that I used in a iphone 4, cheap samsung, and samsung S2 previously with no problems at all.
I then returned the phone to the T-mobile shop retailers, they said it was rare and not a common fault.
My new one is doing the exact same thing, I didn't update it nor is there a new update.

I am getting the same issue but not everytime. I am sure that it is not the fault in mic that is causing this problem, as i recorded my voice (using both mics, the one at the top and at the bottom) and it was crytal clear.
turn off Noise Cancelling... fixed my problems

Had the same issue ,also with the s 2 , but the trick then (witch also worked now ) was to turn off the noise cancellation .
During a call just take the phone away from your ear and under the callers picture there u will find the option to do so
I have literally just started having the same issue today.
Am on FoxHound Rom 1.4 with Siyah Kernel. Had no problems, even made calls last night, perfect.
Then I tried switching Fast Dormancy on, flashed stock kernel and this morning I find when I made calls to Orange customer services, they were saying they couldn't hear me.
Tried testing it myself, and no matter who I call no-one can hear me.
I've tried:
re-flashing rom, kernel
Tried latest stock roms such as I9300XXBLG8_I9300OXABLG8_I9300XXLG8_HOME.tar.md5, none have made a difference. Even Roms I had backed up in clockworkmod that were working perfectly, like CM10 preview and CM9 have stopped working.
I've tried disabling Noise reduction, which has had no effect. Tried factory reset, flashing modems, kernels, roms, stock roms, nothing has made a difference. I can record video, google talk, anything else fine, just not get anything from the mic when making phone calls.
Tried putting a friends 3 SIM in, and the same thing, so it's definitely not network related either. I definately hope it isn't a hardware fault, as I bought mine on ebay and it isn't insured. Was kinda hoping for more than 2 mores usage out of a phone :crying:

i bought a Jiayu G4 phone a month ago and i face a problem in calling. When i am on a phone call, the person to the other side of the call hears a noise. This noise, to help you understand, it's similar to the sound that a TV or THE SPEAKERS do when you put a mobile phone near them. This is very annoying and i can't explain why it happens. Now, in order to make the things better till i'll find a solution, i bought a bluetooth. The problem whem i'm using it, is that the person to the other side of the call can't hear me correctly. To help you understand, my voice it's like a robot's voice and it's not quite loud. Does anyone have an idea how to face that?

Do you find a solution? I have the same problem with my g4s
Has anyone ever experienced problems with calls? It has happened more than once to me that the person stops hearing me and then we eventually hang up and call again and it works. Today something strange happened and it was after the other person stopped hearing me and i called back we both just start to hear like a scratching sound, like a record being scratched or something.
Anyone experienced this? I don't know if its rom, the phone, the network or what it is.
I have the same problem with the boeffla kernel and with agni kernel..
With stock i dont know because it don enable wifi..

I noticed that my phone's mic doesnt work. Phone is S3. ( international). Mic and speaker dont work when i try to call someone or when someone calls me. If someone calls me, there is green thing which tells that i should be able to hear the caller's voice. But i dont hear anything! I have tried on different sim cards, it didnt work. I havent changed any settings for few days.
And when i end the call, my phone says "out of service area"
I noticed problem this morning.
My phone runs 4.3 and it's unrooted.

Well, I have exactly the same problem which started recently. Sometimes it works, but often not. I've tried other roms and even installed official with no luck
