Another question. I removed the coating from the lens glass cover last time that's why I'm getting glare on strong lights. Are the replacement parts available online includes the coating that is applied on the original package or just the glass? Thanks.

Ok, just changed mine. Definitively better than the old one scratched/polished, no more halo. Probably the original made by sapphire glass is better when new, but almost the camera is usable..

You mean the replacement is not a sapphire glass but it has a coating that reduces halo?

My replacement seems to be policarbonate (2€ shipped.......) but the overall image quality is better than before.

Thanks a lot, maybe I'll try to replace mine.

Orzly premium tempered glass screen protector ( £9.95 +£1.95 shipping) review

Bought it from e-bay UK for £9.95 + £1.95 shipping. Arrived promptly.
Nicely packaged, with the same premium quality feeling than the almost three times
more expensive Spigen equivalent product I ordered for a Note 1 some time ago.
Very easy to install with the included dust remover film, alcohol swab & cleaning cloth, as well as very easy to follow instructions
Fits perfectly on the Note 3. Just one minor annoyance : it contained iPhone round colored button covers...

this is disappointing to me because on the items description it made me believe the whole front was covered with only holes for ffc and sensors...appreciate the review now im still on the hunt...almost bought one today too.
what i looking for: tempered glass screen protector that covers the whole front of the phone with cut outs for speaker, and button. and holes for ffc and both front sensors.

Rawready, actually I wonder whether such a large cutoff at the top of the phone is not
a good design tradeoff : on my previous Note 1 the upper part of the Spigen glass protection
got broken within a few weeks of use.

Rawready,
Maybe some lint or dust might get caught, still the cut out looks OK to me.
About the old one, the first time I dropped it, the thin glass band on top of the speaker cut out broke.

Not so much between the speaker and sensor holes but rather on top of the speaker hole.
Hey
Does this screen protector reduce fingerprint marks? And do you still think it's good after a week of use?
Thank you

The screen protector does thicken the phone slightly and is a bit noticeable, though the added protection trade off seems good to me.
The tactile sensation is excelent.

Hey,
Thank you for answering. Just a little question, do you use the S view cover ? Because I just want to know if this screen protector is compatible ( ie you can close the S view cover) with the case.

Scratched camera lens.

Hello,
im not using my X with any case and recently saw that my back lens is really, reallly scratched. I cant understand why Sony did not use glass to protect it. Any idea how to remove this scratches?
http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/58db60c5c607c/IMG_20170329_092200739.jpg?
It's not glass? It feels like it.. weird, I thought all of the X series were with glass lens. I have no scrathes nor in the lens nor on the screen (actually in the screen there are 2 super small invisible scratches you can view only with a specific angle under bright sun, other than that, it's like new. Been using a flip case and now ordered screen protectors and a good TPU. You got your lens TERRIBLY f*cked up, how did you manage to do that? and the metal is scratched too, right? I suggest you get a TPU now to prevent more damage. I don't think you can fix it, and I don't recommend the toothpaste DIY "trick" since chances are it won't do anything and paste will get stuck in the gap between the lens. I do suggest you to find lens in ebay and replace them yourself, or if you haven't rooted and still have warranty ask what they can do about it in a local store. Can't be very expensive...
What did you do in the end? I had this phone for little over a week, and the camera is full of scratches.
Did you contact Sony? Did they repaired the phone? Or have you removed the scratched layer with alcohol/toothpaste?
I've owned many, many phones over the years, some with a plastic lens. This is the first time I've seen my camera so scratched.
Just by looking at the pic, I'm pretty sure the protective plastic camera has not been removed yet..
This is old people, and I highly doubt OP will reply. Whoever says their lens are getting scratches either didn't remove the plastic cover or you are doing something VERY wrong. Phones aren't meant to be placed on rocks or something. Other than that, I have not idea how you scratch it and it looks like glass to me. The X series phones after the z5 were all upgraded with glass lens.

There's no protective plastic on my lens, and it scratches with jeans denim, I've tested it. I own phones with actual plastic lenses, and they do not scratched by fabric. My guess is there are some units where the antiglare layer on the camera lens have some kind of defect.
Before the "you're using it wrong" argument: no. My phone is in pristine condition, it does not have any marks of use anywhere but the camera. It was never near any rough surface. My 2.5 years old Moto E2 plastic camera lens is in a much better condition.

Full Screen Tempered Glass with Manualy Applied Full Adhesive

This is purely for sharing purpose and proof of theory, if you decide to do it on your own, then its all your own risk
Since in my country, Whitestone Dome is not available, and i cant find any good similar product,
I decide to make it on my own,
i do smartphone repair on a daily basis, and i know how to use LOCA glue, and i had available tools around,
So i grab one Nillkin 3D CP+ Max Full Screen Glass Protector,
i put the LOCA glue on the screen, and apply the glass on top, let the glue spread evenly,
curing it using UV lamp, and....

hello. i wait someone to post this theory about loca glue with normal tempered glass. but i ask you some question?
1. how many cc for loca glue on the screen?
2. what kind of loca glue? ( tp1000 , tp2500 , tp2500f)
3. Is it easy to remove tempered glass from phone after use loca glue?
hello.
I found new Nillkin product 3D AP+ Pro tempered glass. Unfortunately, pictures have only Chinese description, however it's easy to find glass is only 0.1mm thin.

You need less than 10cc absolutely,
One 10cc tube can do at least two installation
2500 should be good enough, its softer than 1000,
Removal is not that hard, but you need to slowly wipe away the dried/jellyfied loca

Actually for this kind of project,
Any TG protector will do,
But i choose one that has color on the edge, since it will disguise if there's any micro bubble appear on the edge,
Even cheap $3 bucks glass will do,
I just did 2nd installation using those kind of glass,
Fit perfectly well

I am interested in giving this a try. From what it sounds like, you just put some adhesive on the glass, affix it to the screen, wipe away the excess, then cure it? How do you manage the glue around the speaker grill? I'm concerned the glue will gunk up the speaker.

Put a paper tape on the speaker first. And remove it later,
Although, you can simply control the amount of LOCA you are using, so that there wont be too much excess that go near speaker.
If you accidentally gunk up your speaker, just use tooth brush, it will easily remove the dried up loca from the grill

Wow..... is there any side effect, are there any leaked glue on the side/top/bottom ?
how is the sensitivity, i use Nillkin 3D CP+ Max Full Screen Glass Protector aswell, and the sensitivity on the top corner is horrible.

Leaked glue was cleaned right away after installation
Sensitivity is perfect, since there's no air gap like what happen in most common tempered glass,
and although there's glue between the glass and screen, it's LOCA which designed and purposed for mostcof LCD-Touchscreen-Glass bonding, so it has almost 0 effect to sensitivity and light transmittance
And experience is much better compared to common rubber or tpu protector, since its glass

I had found a YouTube video, and it was comparing the difference between the CP+ and AP+ screen protector for an iPhone, and the guy was saying th CP+ was better, but didn't really say why, or what the difference is.
EDIT:
I sent an email to the manufacturer got a response. The CP+ Max is Tempered Glass, the AP+ Pro is a PE Resen (flexible).

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XHPMW98/
I didn't like that one since I could see the adhesive on the edges .
But the new screen protector is black all around, looks nice one, like you don't even have one installed. Still has the micro dots. Works with the two cases I have, EasyAcc and Diztronic.

3W or even 6W would be too small, it will takes too much time to cure
Am using 36W UV lamp box, the one which nirmally used for nail polish in beauty shop, it fully cure the glue in around 5-30 mins
This is amazon link : https://www.amazon.com/Salon-Edge-36W-Professional-Dryer/dp/B006QO4BRM
LOCA glue i used is mechanic brand. Quite popular among repair shop in my country, not sure that would be available in your country though,
Here's on alibaba : https://m.alibaba.com/product/60537...-glue-liquid-optical.html#show_specifications
I think as long as you are not using the shaddy cheap one, you should be okay.

Original screen protector ?

Hi,
As a dumb guy, I remove the original screen protector to put a tempered glass. What a mess.. The result was literraly horrible.
So I try non-tempered glass screen protector from Orlzy, but it doesn't take all the screen.
So I want to know if it's possible to buy the original screen protector ?
hello,
Not the original one, but you can get the same kind though: https://www.ultimateshield.co.uk/co...cts/oneplus-5-invisible-film-screen-protector
But the best protection so far is still the glass protection from Orzly: https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B073C7QFP2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Not perfect, but the best you can buy.

For the second one, it's not the Orlzy one, it's normal ? And for this one, there is no blank space ? (the tempered glass I bought have some space not glued, I'm not sure If I'm clear enough ^^)
Sorry, the second link is the LK protection, a good copy of the Orzly one. Here is the link for the latter one: https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B071JYR68Z/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Don't get the Nillkin one though, really bad one. Only Orzly or LK. Both cover "almost" all the display and the black line on the side isn't too big so it doesn't block the pixels.

The Orzly doesn't have glue on the screen area, which is what I think you were asking about. You could potentially (read: probably will) get the oil slick issue.
I recommend that one : https://rhinoshield.io/products/oneplus-5-screen-protector?variant=36214877825
oui mais non.
It's once again a glass protection, not a plastic one like the OP is looking for.
More expensive than the Orzly one too. Might be better, but...
And it didn't fully covered the phone..
I want a good FILM that covers the entire screen. Not looking for tempered glass, because I want full screen (and front) coverage

no they don't offer the back protection. I know that because I ordered the product and there is only the front protection and nothing else.
I haven't tried it cuz 1) I have the Orlzy glass protection installed, I have the oil stain in the middle but I can live with it, 2) I'm a bit lazy, 3) the application of the UltimateShield is a bit of a hassle I think... have to use water, have to be careful with the HPs and the buttons, and have to wait at least 48h to make sure you did well...
So I have the thing, but sticking with the Orzly right now.

The Skinomi that I posted pictures of here is probably the closest you're going to get to full front coverage. The manufacturers don't seem to want to touch the curved sides of the screen. Those pix are of the matte version. There's a clear one as well and both can be had with back and side protection. Also, they don't fingerprint easily.

Case & Tempered Glass Recommendations?

Hi All,
Sounds like some glass protectors are too small or don't stay put..
Has anyone used a tempered glass screen protector and hard case combo that they can recommend?
If someone can recommend and provide photo's I'd be grateful!:good:
Cheers
It's true that tempered glasses protectors will not stay long in your phone, but in Aliexpress I found a cheap solution for a full protection for my Honor 10 (less than 4€).
First of all, type in Aliexpress "360 case honor 10" and you will see the case that I attach you in pictures. This case is good because take the tempered glass along the corners and so on, so doesn't matter if the tempered glass doesn't have glue.... because anyway, will stay in the screen because the cover.
And of course, you have also full screen tempered glass. Also in Aliexpress I found it per less than 2€. I attach you my screen protector also.
Hey thanks for the reply! I've been looking at 360 cases just like that. Are you able to take a picture of the case and protector on your phone? Cheers
Buy expensive brand. Like below
https://www.bol.com/nl/p/just-in-ca...bltgh=uA1Ho1JLA0vLUwTQD3lAGw.1.2.ProductTitle
Aliexpress quality i tried several...
They will likely cause color distortion and possibly break the glass under your phone more easily than the more professional brands...
Like... just in case... OR.. pantzerglass
Also, the cheap Aliexpress glasses didnt stick.
The 360° cover definately sticks.. But i wouldnt trust it for abovementioned reasons.
Cheap glass often feels sticky too. Good glass is very oily to the touch.

Hi everyone,
@xitopodo : How do you manage the fingerprint scanner with that kind of cover ? It looks like you can't use it as a navigation bar. I have my honor for two days, and I find this function very intuitive.
Thks

It's not a problem, due to both items (tempered glass and cover) have the hole of the fingerprint and you can use it without problems Also no problem with both items if you use Face ID
What do you think about Nillkin ? I'm hesitating with their products :
Tempered glass with black borders
Fully transparent tempered glass
Frosted case

I always think that the expensive glass is no different (correct me if I'm wrong!) so I never spend that much on the glass.
The case would probably be alright, Nillkin seem to be a good brand.
For anyone interested, I bought:

https://www.gearbest.com/screen-protectors/pp_1849175.html?wid=1433363
Grand total of £4.10! I'll post when they arrive and let you know if they're any good.

I've got this one for my Honor 10 - https://nillkin.org/smartphones-acc...or-10-accessories/nillkin-huawei-honor-10-qin
Very pleased with it, have used Nillkin cases in the past and would definitely recommend them to friends/family.
Out of interest has anyone got the "Official Huawei Honor 10 Smart View Flip Case" - https://www.hihonor.com/uk/product/575014049.html#609295696
Saw it reasonably priced on eBay and i'm very tempted.
Screen protector
Hello all, bought my Honor 10 recently. I ordered a silicone clear back cover and 2,5D glass screen shield. I was surprised that the phone had some kind of screen protection already in. Do you think I should keep this original one on the phone or remove it and replace it? Thank you very much for tips.

I bought the glass one to replace for mine.
The glass will feel nicer (although the pre-installed film is not bad) and will also protect it better because the protector smashes instead if your screen!
The only problem is I'm bad at installing them and get OCD about the dust!

Coming back after receiving the frosted case and the fully transparent tempered glass.
The frosted case is really good, I like it but I don't like the tempered glass, it seems like it's hard plastic, very flexible.
Very good Tempered glass
Hi all, i tested this : amazon.fr/gp/product/B07D9B3384/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It is the best tempered glass I've ever tested. It adheres perfectly to the phone screen, even on the edge (after using the liquid in the box). With the plastic applicator we can't go wrong during installation. Great advice.

After more than a month i'm completely satisfied with this glass. I only had to refill gaps with the given liquid once. Feeling it gives while tapping is the same as original glass.
