[ROM]{D6603/33/53} Fragment ROM V5 Finalized Ultra [MM .291][LB/UB] - Xperia Z3 Android Development

Update 2018: Not many people are on Z3 anymore and even less using Fragment ROM, but just a heads-up - Mediafire has begun flagging random files as viruses in attempts to get users to purchase Bitdefender from them (I'm assuming they get a commission) so I have taken the liberty of removing all my files so that Mediafire is no longer tempted to flag them up, and so that they don't get any ad revenue from potential users visiting the links. Everything needed is on AFH so this won't affect much anyway. Just an explanation for some missing links.
Fragment ROM by Dobsgw
For Locked Bootloader. UB has it's own version in download section.
Deodexed Base
Based on Latest Sony 23.5.A.1.291 Global Firmware (D6603)
Includes all latest Baseband 61, fotakernel, 28 Jun Sony Kernel
SuperSU 2.79 and TWRP 3.0.2 included with init.d support added
This is a reasonably close to Stock ROM approach with some minor changes such as XZ SystemUI and dynamic framework for improved look and performance. No soundmods, no unnecessary scripts, no bloat unless you want it.
A solid custom ROM for those who like to make their own changes.
Overtime I may add or remove features to fine tune, but anything you feel is missing can just be flashed over for your own personalization.
(The obvious disclaimer: I am not responsible for anything that goes wrong with your device if you flash this. I have taken as many steps possible to ensure top quality and am running this myself, but you have been warned!!)

For this reason it is wise to either clean install or uninstall updates in Settings->Apps for those updated or they will exist on both system and data which is a waste of memory.

(if not there please let me know and I will have to add it for all languages. To test please change system language to English (default for mods) and see if it is there. That lets me know that it worked in the raw format)
- Updated SuperSU to latest version 2.79 for LB version
Known BuGs:
None in V5
Install:
Boot to TWRP recovery.
Do not wipe system as this is done by scripts.
Clean install recommended - perform factory reset before or after flash
Install ROM
[If you have D6633/53 then flash the patch now]
(you can install Xposed Framework now too if you want it once ROM and OTA's are installed)
Wipe cache and dalvik
Reboot
Wait for optimization
Enjoy!!!
(Process for Unlocked Bootloaders differs slightly so follow instructions in Download Section)

IF YOU HAVE UB SEE HERE
So after reports that V4.1.5 doesn't work, that V4.1.5 did work, that V5 doesn't work and that V5 actually does work (with custom kernels I mean).....
I'm leaving both versions here for people to download. They should both work. It is down to users to get custom kernels to boot with Fragment ROM now as I can only provide the ROM as is. My argument is that if you are running an unlocked bootloader then you should be at an advanced enough level to work out what needs to be done in order to make the phone boot up with a custom kernel. You are free to edit the Fragment ROM zips to your preference and modify anything for your private use to get things working (in fact I encourage you to do this to get the most out of your device!).
So have a go and let users know in the thread what worked for you on which kernel to get it booted up.
V4.1.5 UB Download links:
Android File Host: Fragment ROM V4.1.5 For Unlocked Bootloader
MediaFire: Removed as Mediafire is flagging files as viruses to force users to purchase Bitdefender from them.
V5 Finalized-Ultra UB Download Links:
Android File Host: Fragment ROM V5 Finalized-Ultra for Unlocked Bootloader
Due to incompatibility with RecRoot (the method of achieving root and recovery on Locked Bootloader) I have had to make a separate version of Fragment for Unlock Bootloader users if you want to use custom kernels.
The only difference is the lack of recroot so be warned you need to flash / fastboot your chosen custom kernel for TWRP access (only tested 78Kernel)
Instructions:
Boot to TWRP (install this however you want if you don't already have it)
Factory Reset
Flash Fragment ROM UB Version (this still includes the stock kernel, just not root or recovery)
Flash Kernel (tested with 78Kernel)
Flash SuperSU Systemless
Flash DRM Patch
Reboot (it will probably show a black screen for a while if flashing SuperSU. Don't touch it. If it hangs there for longer than around 5 mins (was for me) then it might not be booting so have patience / try again)
ADDONS:
NAV-BAR Sizes D6603 ONLY (NOW 3 DOT LAG FIXED):
- Dynamic Nav-Bars (ie: will change to color of apps that support this feature):
Dynamic Nav-Bar 36 dpi: AFH - Dynamic 36dpi Nav-Bar
Dynamic Nav-Bar 42 dpi: AFH - Dynamic 42dpi Nav-Bar
Dynamic Nav-Bar 48 dpi: AFH - Dynamic 48dpi Nav-Bar
NAV-BAR Sizes D6633 ONLY:
- Dynamic Nav-Bars (ie: will change to color of apps that support this feature):
Dynamic Nav-Bar 36 dpi: Removed as Mediafire is flagging files as viruses to force users to purchase Bitdefender from them.
Dynamic Nav-Bar 42 dpi: Removed as Mediafire is flagging files as viruses to force users to purchase Bitdefender from them.
Dynamic Nav-Bar 48 dpi: Removed as Mediafire is flagging files as viruses to force users to purchase Bitdefender from them.
SystemUIs:
MediaFire: Removed as Mediafire is flagging files as viruses to force users to purchase Bitdefender from them.
Camera Apps ADDON: Removed as Mediafire is flagging files as viruses to force users to purchase Bitdefender from them.
Missing Apps ADDON #1: Removed as Mediafire is flagging files as viruses to force users to purchase Bitdefender from them.
For this I recommend downloading and using an archive tool to go through and delete all apps you don't want and then flash to get the ones you missed
Missing Apps ADDON #2 (combine with first one to get all bloat or just flash this for all apps that were in V1): Removed as Mediafire is flagging files as viruses to force users to purchase Bitdefender from them.

I just removed Chrome completely from this since you can get it from Play Store anyway. I did the same to V2 of the Deodex.
It looks like you need to go to system/vendor/app and delete the ChromeCustomizations folder. I don't know why since I deodexed it, but it causes an issue for Chrome.
I have just done this and it works fine. This will be sorted in V2
Yeah try it. If you have any issues you can clean install, but I don't see any problems from that. Remember this is heavily debloated compared to the Stock Deodex so if any apps are missing you can download the addons and edit them with an archive tool like 7zip or winrar and delete all the bloat you don't want. Then flash it and you'll have the system apps back that you are missing

Perfect, the more debloat, the better

So far so good. Only recently installed but I'll see how it goes.

Good to hear. Remember for V1 to delete the Chrome Customization folder in system/vendor/app or Chrome won't play nice.
Apart from that I don't think there's any bugs.
I'm already working on changing the SystemUI a little bit, but I'll see what happens. There may be an updated version of the Xperia X one coming soon...

I will look into it but no promises ;p
It seems to be an archaic and unnecessary transfer protocol. The device would be partitioned completely differently for true implementation and I think it's best left in the past...
What's wrong with MTP?

Change theme.
There's a black theme that I use.
Try the black theme then in Blurred SystemUI set it to 100% transparency for a cool effect

You mean bright blue or dark blue?
This is mine without BlurredUI.
If it isn't the same as mine. Apply the theme and reboot/ restart systemUI.
If you wanted another colour you need to find a theme this black notification panel. I admit that it isn't actually black but that's Sony for you

Well I use my SD Card a lot and I tend to transfer huge files and it goes much faster using MSC than MTP, I can also drag files from browsers and other programs when i have MSC but I can't using MTP

Ah okay well I don't think I can add that.
It might be something you need to do yourself for your device. I don't even know if I could do it on a locked bootloader

krapster said:
Well I believe it can be done, not sure about the specifics myself but running RXSW ROM it does seem to work even under locked bootloader, great ROM regardless!

Okay well good suggestion.
It won't be a priority but if I get a chance and can manage it I can always add it later.
No time soon though. Taking it slow to make sure it's stable.
Couple things to work out already and I'm working hard on V2

Working on version 2. Won't be released until there is a significant enough change to warrant uploading a whole ROM. So could take a while.
I will make it an OTA patch though to flash over V1, but some manual work will need to be done to clean bugs.
So far...
Change Log v2:
Fixed Chrome issues by deleting chrome customization from vendor/apps (people on V1 can do this themselves. Also delete the ims folder in there)
Cleaned up the systemUI apk to add back some defaults from Xperia X
Fixed org.codeaurora.ims stopped issue on some start-ups (version 1 users delete ims folder from vendor/apps as stated)
Disabled mobile data disabled notification as it is annoying as hell
Fixed the weird sound when taking pics/ screenshot with sound on (changed the shutter sound in system back to default)

Q & A
Q: Where are all the addons?
A: In AppMan check your app drawer for the Superman-droid icon. That's AppMan!
Q: Can I install xLOUD?
A: Yes! But it is proven to damage the speaker, so we have also included DSP manager so you can increase the volume. ALWAYS BE CAREFUL when stressing your hardware's limits! We are not to be held responsible for any damages to the fragile speaker on your phone.
Q: Can I use this or that kernel for unlock or locked bootloader?
ALL kernels built for stock ROMs WILL WORK on this rom. We have tested all of them and we recommend ThKernel 029e, which you can find as an addon in AppMan.
WARNING: If you are using a Bypass Kernel it will be removed when the ROM is installed and you will just need to reflash it after flashing the ROM.
If you are using a Replacement Kernel(Unlocked Bootloader) then there will be no effect.
Q: Can I use this or that theme?
A: Short answer, no. Unless of course it is built of our framework. We have made MASSIVE mods to the framework so most themes will disable most, if not all, options in the Tweaks app.
Q: I am getting a FC on this or that, can you help me!
A: NO. We can't help you. Because what you just said means nothing to us.
We want to help you SO much, but in order to do that you need to report the bug properly.
We took care of that too, see here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1292625
Q:OMG YOU STOLE MY WORK! YOU [email protected]#$!% etc etc etc
A: We kindly ask you that if you have an issue with any of the inclusions in the ROM to either PM me or iridaki so we can sort it out politely There is no need to flame in the thread. Also if we have forgotten credits, please let us know and we will add them immediately.
Q: This rom is stupid, I hope you fail, "that" ROM is better!
A: That's cool, use "that" ROM. There is absolutely no need to report your disgust unless of course you have constructive criticsm. Personal Preference isn't a bug or an issue
We encourage EVERYONE to use the ROM they feel is best for them

We are very happy to announce our collaboration with ThJap who was kind enough to provide us with his latest kernel, 029e,
previously exclusive to his ROM.
Now this is the official T.E.A.M kernel, fully compatible with the ROM and highly recommended.
Detailed kernel changelog is provided here.
A brief overview of the kernel features is as follows:
Kernel
- Based on latest FreeXperia sources
- OverClock (up to 1228 MHz) & DownClock (128 MHz), UnderVolt (adjustable vdd levels), optimized CPU settings (latency, speed and more)
- General Volume FIX, including in-call volume (Max & Min Gain)
- FPS uncap integrated
- ext3, ext4 support
- Turned on Swap, CPU Thumbee, tree RCU
- Ondemand CPU governor FIX (it can use all frequencies, much like interactive)
- Auto loading init.d scripts
- Updated yaffs2 (backport from Arc kernel)
- backlight.c and lcd.c update
- Smartass v2 CPU governor (default)
- BFQ scheduler tweaked
- Touch driver FIX (upped touch response to the limit)
- Backport some sources from .32
- and many more!
Now to the ROM itself:
Tweaks
- Added more build.prop tweaks
- Cleaned install-recovery.sh for the users that will flash ThJap kernel
NOTE: Install this update ONLY if you run stock SE kernel
(doesn't matter if you run any other kernel for locked bootloaders,
the state of your bootloader (locked/unlocked) also doesn't matter)
or BootManager Stock Kernel.
This update is highly recommended because it will enhance user experience vastly.
However, it is still optional.
Next updates will be kernel-independent so you can skip this.
But we can guarantee that you will regret it!
First boot might take a bit longer than usual, because the cache and dalvik cache will be wiped during flashing.
Also, for the first few minutes after boot, phone might be a little laggy, as caches are being rebuilt.
It should catch up very quickly though!
Undervolt is not included, for the sake of compatibility with all devices.
Each device has unique tolerance in overclock/undervolt, so you have to experiment yourself.
For overclock, use SetCPU or No-frills CPU or CPU Master, etc.
For undervolt, open /system/etc/init.d/13vdd_levels and edit the values as you wish.

So, as always, stay tuned and thanks for all your unmatchable support!

First of all, THANKS to everybody for their support in this attempt!
25/8/2011: I am updating this post with the results I got from testing all the custom kernels available, up to today.
It was an amazing ride and our developers have really produced great enhancements for our phones!
Also, let me note one more time, T.E.A.M ROM is stock ROM, so this review applies to any stock and stock based ROM (as long as there are no tweaks conflicting with the boot.img).
First of all, the apps I used to measure the kernels' features performance
are: CPUSpy and NoFrills CPU Control (was a fan of SetcPU, but Nofrills is simpler and somehow I got over my Profiles obsession ).
1. [KERNEL] zKernel | 2.6.29 | for 2.3.3 stock ROM | 19/08/2011
This is an "old-time classic"! U MAD???
Features:
- latest SE sources
- FPS cap removed
- overclocked
- added extra frequencies
- in-call volume increased
- TUN/TAP support (VPN)
- CIFS support
- debugging disabled for improved performance
- enabled ThumbEE CPU extension
Click to collapse
Performance and speed with the >998 frequencies are great,
but in my case the phone got too hot above 998 MHz.
In-call volume is increased and there's no distortion, which is very very nice!
There's no undervolt, so nothing to report there.
Overall, it's very stable, faced no problems while using it,
but wanted to try undervolt, so moved on to other kernels.
Of course, I know my device actually can handle undervolt, so if you
had bad experiences with undervolting before, this is definitely the kernel for you.
2. 2.3 Th_kernel_023.2
The latest kernel from 24/8 seems to pack some neat features,
but unfortunately got stuck at boot logo when I installed it,
so no review here. I am sure ThJap will sort it out soon enough!
3. [KERNEL][X10] DooMKernel - "Power to The People" [Rel:v03d][Dt:26/08][FW3.0.1.G.0.75]
This is my personal favorite. The latest version, 03d, runs very very stable
on my phone.
The VDD controls are a great way to discover and use the best undervolting settings for your device!
I made a startup script and set the voltages to:
128000 Hz - 875 V
192000 Hz - 900 V
245760 Hz - 925 V
384000 Hz - 950 V
460800 Hz - 975 V
576000 Hz - 1000 V
652800 Hz - 1050 V
768000 Hz - 1100 V
844800 Hz - 1150 V
921600 Hz - 1200 V
998400 Hz - 1250 V
I use minmax governor and you can see what I personally feel about other governors here.
With the latest update, ondemand and interactive seem to be fixed and lag has been eliminated,
but I am still testing.
All in all, what's important for you to know is that all the custom kernels work in this ROM!
You just need to flash the zip and then wipe cache and dalvik cache in xRecovery before rebooting.
As simple as that!
Don't be afraid to try, don't forget that you are as good as your last backup
and come here to report your experience with custom kernels!

- Smaller in size ZIPs for download (as suggested by riginal)
*Most probably the upcoming releases will be updates and not Full ROMs anyway,
but keeping the download sizes at minimum will be a priority
- Colored Icons in the Statusbar for When-Connected-To-Google (as suggested by slashfoo) DONE
- Battery Percentage Mod with working Reboot options (as suggested by Slothagus)
- AppWidgetPicker implementation (as suggested by slashfoo)
- Host the files for this rom on github
pvyParts: Sorry guys i will get on it. as i have to decompile everything and organise it a bit beter
- Add a 6th Icon on notification toggles for data on/off
pvyParts: working on the data enable/disable taking more time than i like
- Be able to configure notification toggles
pvyParts: not sure if thsi is "easy to implement" but will look into it soon.
- Change the "POWER" key to "ENDCALL"
Done!
- Add "Take screenshot" to power menu (instead of xrecovery which would be a LOT less used).
pvyParts: hehe more framework mods, gotta love it. i will see if i can get it to work.

Only known issues are that on first boot the Keyboard doesn't work. This is why the system must be rebooted after first boot for this to work correctly.
Also - The camera app can sometimes not connect to the camera. This is because the SystemUI (Notification Bar) has taken control of it for use with the 'Flashlight' function. If you load the Camera a few times it will eventually work.

Sorry, forgot to mention - It's 2.3.7
It's original base is the NXT LE ROM which is also 2.3.7
This was chosen as Gingerbread is still the best ROM in terms of performance when it comes to gaming.
With an OC of 1.6Ghz I am able to run Vice City on almost full graphics with only a slight bit of slowdown in specific places.
FPSE runs perfectly, not tested many games using the OpenGL plugin however Klona and one or two others do work at 55 - 60fps. Using the normal plugin however, all games run fully at 60fps.
Antutu benchmark is 6130 @ 1.6Ghz. (Haven't tested this in a while)
Unfortunately ICS and JB scores are usually higher, specifically in the graphics department. It's a shame that GB hasn't received an update recently in terms of graphics libs. - I tried quite a few different ones to get more performance, inclusive of those from other phones... Most of them either slowed it right down or simply stopped it from booting! I'll keep looking though...

that s why i moved from GB to ICS or JB..you see big difference in graphics..watching videos in hi resolution its almost perfect..most of it with 2000/2500 kb in video..smooth and clean..and the roms are faster with many tweaks..anyway good work man.:good:
The problem is however, that the tweaks and improvements only look good on paper in terms of gaming...
For some reason, even if ICS and JB do score higher, GB ends up performing better in the real world.
...If only we could port the drivers.... But that's just not possible
Oh wow! Nice. Going to download and install when I get home from work!
---------- Post added at 08:18 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:15 AM ----------
Also would you recommend using DoomKernel instead of Lupus? I notice you've linked Doom's one, but would there be any difference at all?

It's a GB ROM, so you're gonna need a GB Kernel.
As far as i knew, Lupus doesn't have a GB one does he?
If there is one though, I can't imagine there would be any problems with using it... By all means give it a shot and let us know how it goes.
I chose DoomKernel as he has set a GPU Overclock as part of the Kernel towards the end of its development... So to make up for the old drivers, it tends to fill the gap between ICS and GB in terms of Graphics.

1. There is a Lupus kernel for GB (Lupus-GB V6)
2. So you're using DoomKernel v13? v14 has disabled GPU Overclock.
Anyway I am not asking a question I'm answering an answer.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Hmm... I should've looked into that a bit more then... Thanks for clearing that up!
I'll try out different Kernels at some point and find out which is best.
I was considering upping the clock to 1.3Ghz in a v0.2 (It is currently clocked by default to 1.2Ghz) But that could cause problems for some users, especially if I start recommending the use of DoomKernel v13 instead of v14... That is, assuming the GPU clock wasn't removed for stability issues or something.
Something to add to my to-do list.
Edit: Looks like 1.3Ghz is where the default voltages within the DoomKernel increase to ensure stability... 1.2Ghz stays at the default voltage of 1200mv whereas at 1.3Ghz this increases to 1250mv. It wouldn't be fair to have to have voltages set by default so I think I'll give the clock increase a miss. - It's not like users can't easily set their own clock speeds anyway.
I've had installed for a few hours now, and i've been playing around with it. After the first boot up, the keyboard didn't want to come up, but after second boot, everything was peachy. Everything that needs to work, works just great. Lots of space, so that's a win. Very fast too. Haven't overclocked it yet, but the settings you have as default run everything just great.
All in all so far, you've done a great job buddy. I've installed DoomKernal V.14. I will test with Lupus later on tonight. Keep up the great work bro. This is in my opinion the best GB rom i've used so far.

Thanks, I really appreciate it!
I experienced the keyboard issue too, the first time I installed the ROM. So I added the 'Reboot' bit to the installation instructions in case it was an ongoing issue.
That being said, with my current v0.2 build, it appears to be working right off the bat. However I've no idea as to how/why as I haven't done anything specific to the keyboard to make it do so!
I'll hopefully be releasing the v0.2 update before the end of the week - This will be a full ZIP instead of a patch, however you'll be able to simply flash it on top of v0.1 without having to format/factory reset.
OH sweet! Already an update coming. Looking forward to it, though really, I don't know what else you can really tweak? It's running really damn good as is right now. The only thing I do miss about the ICS ROMS from Gingerbread is the notification panel settings when you do the swipe down. The swipe down panel from Xpress ROM is just sweet. I'm guessing though that the GingerBread framework wouldn't be able to do that. It's sad that ICS doesn't really want to play well with the Xplay. But as long as we got guys like you that bring awesome GB ROMS this little device isn't going to die off any time soon.
Edit: Just a quick question. I want to put this on my other Xperia Play that has a locked bootloader? Is this possible? Or is this for only unlocked bootloaders? And yes... I have two plays, with a 3rd on it's way... >_> I really like this device, even if I use my S3 as my daily driver. >__<

You can add similar Notification panels to the one you're suggesting in GingerBread, but the problem is their excessive RAM usage... I'll see what I can find though, and if something does crop up that is good as doesn't take up too much RAM I'll replace it.
In regards to updates, there's quite a few things that can still be done to get things a little faster... I'm currently looking into the Linaro toolchain, I had originally thought it was ICS and JB only but it looks like the Linaro optimisations can be applied to GB ROMs as well. This is something that would take a while to sort out though, so I wouldn't expect it anytime soon. Especially not in the v0.2.
I've emailed Quallcomm/looked into trying to get updated versions of the GB libs for the Adreno 205... As the ICS/JB ones are much more optimised than the ones we have. Doubt I'll get anywhere with that though, but there's no harm in trying.
Other than that I intend to add a few more standard apps to /System such as the Gmail app and so on so save more space for /Data, and also the Play Launcher.
My task for this evening however is to compare the performance between the V14/V13 and LuPuS kernels, to see which is best on the ROM. At the end of the day it will all come down to personal preference, however if Quallcomm decide to do nothing in regards to the GB libs then I guess I'll go for the V13 Kernel, as it'll be the last resort for getting improved graphics performance from the Play.
Edit: In regards to the Locked Bootloader... I've only got the one Play which is unlocked - so I am unable to test. As far as I know though, it should work on a Locked Bootloader - I can't see why not!
Re: [ROM][GB] AuroraPlay v0.1 [ICS Themed/Low RAM Usage]
Can I just say, wedgess' LuPuS kernel is so much better than DooMLoRD's in my opinion, it has google's new snappy compression

I wouldnt mind emailing Qualcomm and inquiring about this as well. I mean the Adreno 205 is 2 years olf (if not older) and I dont see a reason why they would at least be willing to release the sources for it......... because truthfully it would be one of the best news for our phone... updated graphics libs for your PLAYs.
What email address did you use? I am thinking what if we got as many Xperia PLAY users to email Qualcomm and request either updated libs or sources to let the devs look into it.
Edit - Made a thread in General section.... would so love to see this happen... I gave all credit to the idea to you Spizzy01, your idea, your credit. Hope you dont mind I made a thread - request for users to band together and assist in getting Qualcomms attention... hopefully.

My initial email to them was simply done using the 'Contact Us' at the bottom of their development site.
Since then I've opened a topic on their Graphics forums too, but I'm yet to get a reply. See here
And nope, that's no problem at all. I agree that we should try any available method in order to get an update. I guess we can only wait and see. For now, I'm going to see if I can try some different combinations of new/old drivers to see if it makes a positive impact on performance.

Just a tip, I have looked into this before, and I dont remember which phone it was that was on GB but it got updated GPU libs... and it was running the Adreno 205 processor. I'll see if I can find the thread for it here on XDA and post it below.

Introduction
Welcome to Custom Atomic GB
The aim of this thread is to enhance the older ROM of Atomic GB and improve
it with new tweaks, settings and enhancements to provide an ultimate stock
themed experience.
Warning : This is a one off release until I get hold
of my Nexus 5 back from Repair,
but any bugs or somewhat major problems
I will fix if necessary.
For right now this is B2 / Beta 2 or simply pre release, there are still more things I need to
amend add and change.
This is the real thing.
But the next thing will be even more real.
It is highly recommended you use Extreme Kernel :good:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Recommendations
1. If you use Extreme kernel use the Market Fix app provided if you have any play store Issues.
2. After first boot allow the device to be on for about 5 minutes then reboot (this is so init.d scripts can do their jobs).
3. Upon boot go to Settings>Applications>Running Services and Force Stop/Kill everything apart from settings and keyboard,
this is to remove the unnecessary background processes and is safe as the killed processes.
are cached and will resume when necessary i.e This will not kill your lockscreen, neither will it stop its notifications from functioning. (don't do it with an Task Killer)

Yeah I thought that would be the case, because original binaries (from ROM) were in the zip and these had issues :/
I have universal binary for next release, I tested it aswell.
For now I'm reinstalling windows.
Sent from my R800i
Yes, now it is working :good:
I might release B2 today if windows decides to install quicker because I'm reinstalling OS.
Edit: if anyone has issues with short battery life then it is useful to say that this Rom Is constantly seeding to dev/urandom.
To stop this you can remove the init.d script which begins with 08, named AggressiveEntropy.

Actually forget about it, I found a new compression method which maybe could combine with one I'm currently using, I dunno, it will take long to optimize but I might cut another 12-15mb without removing anything again.
Edit : Cancelling it - compression goes well and apps are smaller but RAM usage is quite bad after this.
+ODEXED to save space in /data
Edit 2 : Have to rebuild next update due to many issues I'm having such as no lockscreen and voice recorder FC. (as well as mysterious lag and lack of RAM.)
Test build for Atomic GB 7.1 B2 released (may not have full changes from changelog). Check the folders in downloads.
Market fix is for Extremekernel users (recommended).
Report any abnormalities/bugs please.
Edit : Haven't tested with TWRP yet due that I just fixed an urgent error (had a SU binary error which I posted in Q&A section, fixed by changing updater-binary).
Someone please report with TWRP.
Edit 2 : Seems like no lockscreen - possibly an ODEX issue since I reoptimized apps after ODEXing.
Edit 3 : Fixed all the minor bugs occuring, ROM is probably STABLE now - will upload fixed version soon.
Releasing the next build probably now unless I find any bugs - been lightly tested and should work fine.
Recommended Kernel (Extreme Kernel r3 (480p)
Market fix included if you have problems with Extreme Kernel (it has a small cache size and refuses to download big apps from play store).

That's an update-script error.
The thing I did before uploading was changing the update-script, but didn't test it since it was the only thing and the ui-print or simply text you get in recovery was the only difference.
I must've forgot a comma or made a line too long or something of this sort.
I'm gonna check tomorrow after I get back from school but you can just use the old update-script, sorry for that.
I guess I need to wait more, I tend to release before fully testing.
Sent from my R800i
Sorry for the inconvenience. Since I have a version on my phone before I changed the last thing (the updater script) where I changed text I am uploading now.
Mediafire is already uploaded.
Sorry for any problems and Status 6s.
Google drive upload tomorrow

Yeah that's intended until I replace it.
I didn't have time to edit my Settings.apk I ported from my old Gin2JB extended.
The case is that all the icons in settings and the actual app icon itself is much smaller than it should be as I took them from a LDPI device back when editing the settings couple of months ago. The launcher simply tries to resize the icon so it would be the correct size for its grid.
I never intended to fix it as what I originally aimed for was a "Like Jellybean" (this is because I didn't know how to amend sizes of buttons/bars in the main screen) experience but @vokal1992 was making his own settings mod (I didn't know about that) and released it in Gin2JellyBean official which was basically going to do exactly for what I intended so I scrapped this app back in that day I was developing it.
But now I brought it back as I wanted to keep a close to stock experience for AtoMic GB to keep it's purpose still there.
This is one of the things I intend to edit next but for now I'll be very busy this week (school, tests, sport e.t.c) so it's something I will only have time to do at the weekend.
I will aim though to finish this upgraded ROM even if I receive my Nexus back at any point of the week.

It's just a "one off update" since original AtoMic GB became quite dated. I'll be returning to my N5 soon but will make sure to finish the rom.

3 threads open?
Yeah what's with the 3 separate threads?
Otherwise it's nice to see another ROM up.
Will the NFC payment options still work with our banking apps even tho you have removed the payment framework?
What I am trying to ask is can I still use my mobile phone to make payments at my local store.
Awesome.
Gonna try it.
Hope your Bluetooth is actually working lol

Maybe it means Samsung Pay Framework because usually after flashing TWRP it makes it not work.

Yes but I was under the assumption that the banking apps works via Samsung's framework. I'll try it out when I get home and able to flash the damn vendor files.
Thanks sammy now we gotta rock a laptop in our pockets to flash on the go like in the good old days.

Ok I took the chance and flashed it and it worked.
OP it would be a good idea to rename the file
Gear S and Gear Icon work this rom ?
Hi, a few questions, is this ROM stock based? and does it have any micro lag that i will notice?
Also, is the better battery life advertised here thanks to the kernel alone or more things?
thank you
