I'm trying to unlock my redmi note 4 Snapdragon set. I can't seem to get it to go through. I bought a new model and it came with android N already installed as its global version. It was bought from a reputable store and was sealed at time of purchase so it is the official ROM. I was able to change to the newest dev ROM, but I think my chances would be better on an older ROM. Does anyone have a link to the MM dev ROM? I can't seem to find it.

I got this amazing phone about a month ago. Since then I am stuck with MIUI 7.1.3.0 (EU version) and no updates. I really thought that Xiaomi are good at ROM support, but I can only see they update the Chinese version. Will they ever release updated global version of 7.2?
I even doubt that they will release Android 6.0 on Redmi 3. What do you think?

first they will update the flagships (mi4/mi5/mi note) then the redmi's phones
if you want regular (every week) updates then you must have a dev rom , this rom updates every week , the stable , obviously, needs more time
Your MIUI 7.1.3.0 (EU version) is not official ROM, your seller just flashed some custom build for you. Xiaomi has not released Global ROM for Redmi 3 at all. And when Xiaomi will release Global ROM you will need to flash it manually, it wont get OTA update since your current ROM is not official.

I bought it from HonorBuy. But this is not the cheapest place you can find it. I chose it because they ship from EU and there is no bothering with customs.

Hi a while ago I've imported a redmi note 3 pro from China to Canada. Everything else is working fine but I've had this for a month already and the updater app tells me that I have no new OTA updates which is rather weird, since we're supposed to get miui updates very often. Do u guys know why it's happening? Is it die to a locked bootloader or the wifi here in Canada doesn't work well with the Chinese servers? By the way I also tried to flash a ROM from the miui website for this device but it didn't work either so please help
What's your firmware version? You might have a reseller firmware, in that case you would have to flash the fastboot rom

From what I read the special edition phone which comes with Band 28, etc while the other models do not and it seems every tutorial seems to be for the standard model. :crying:
My goal is to unlock the bootloader, flash custom recovery, root and install a 7.x firmware. Is it possible to do this with this with the special edition? If not, should I ask the seller to switch the smartphone to the non special edition smartphone? Cheers.
It depends what country you're live, is it network provider needed that band to running 4GLTE..?, if not..there's no reason you wanna get special edition of RN 3 (kate)..
and beside that, mostly custom rom that available is for kenzo (redmi note 3 pro non special edition)..even you can seek a way installing that rom into kate..but there's too hassle.
Thanks, there was a sale and it was the only black coloured model I could buy and because the 2GB/16GB model was only $20-30 less at the time making the special edition more appealing. I've asked the seller if they could change it though (hoping they have non special edition 3GB/32GB kenzo in stock).

Yes you can do what you written here... There are lot of tutorial out about unlocking bootloader, flash recovery as well as installing rom. You have to be patient & careful when you're following them.
Btw, i'm also RN3 SE (kate) user & using Android 7.x.x rom perfectly
Hello, i just bought Xioami mi pad 4 for 150eur in europe, i have been told that its from England.. I tried to verify authetification on xioami site, but it says
"Thank you for choosing Xiaomi!
However, the device you purchased is not an official global version and user experience may be affected. Next time, please purchase the official global version of the device through officially authorized channels."
Can anyone explain what this means? I heavily use tablet for 2 days, and everything is great. Just curious about message..

Mi Pad 4/Plus hasn't Global version. Only China version with xiaomi.eu like ROM.
Many China sellers use fake global MIUI as base system for sold devices. They unlock bootloader and install own rom. You can find some old posts about it and hints to replace this fake rom with any other custom rom or original MIUI. Maybe you have this rom in your tablet.
Xiaomi never offered this mi pad 4 official outside of China.
I have a new Redmi Note 12Pro+ which has the Chinese MIUI ROM (14.0.3) installed. Is it possible to replace this ROM with the international version? If the answer is yes is an instruction post available?
Also for those who might know is this the correct ROM as refers only to Redmi Note 12?
To switch from Chinese rom to global one you have to unlock the bootloader first , the wait time for unlocking bootloader should be 7-14 days .
Also your phone is note 12 pro + and the note 12 is definitely different both hardware and software wise

unlocking the bootloader need a tool called MITOOL,this tool do not work util the phone login a account and keep 7-14 days.
