Threema goes into deep sleep, why? - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

I only get messages from Threema, if I open the App.
If the phone screen is off, the messages are not received, for the sender it looks like my Threema is offline.
I thought it is related to battery saving settings, but I disabled everything possible.
Threema is added to the exceptions for battery saver and is allowed to autostart.
Other app, like Google mail, can receive messages while the phone screen is off.
What else can I do?
Does anyone has the same issue?

You can lock it that memory management wouldn't kill it. To do that simply open recents and move this application down . You will see padlock. If you are on miui beta press and hold the application and you will see something like the picture

Thanks for the hint, unfortunately it did not help.
There is the lock symbol now, but messages still cannot be received once the screen is off.
Not sure if this makes a difference, the messages can still be received maybe 60sec after the screen is off.
This is so strange, never had that before.

Have you done this?

Yes I did
Let me provide some screenshots later today, it's my wife's phone so I cannot create the screenshots now.
I changed four items:
- battery saver for Threema
- enabled autostart for Threema (your screenshot)
- disabled something like deep sleep mode for the phone (do not remember the name right now)
- locked Threema memory, like you suggested

Did you go in Threema Settings and activate Push Polling and stuff like this?

Last time when I looked, anything possible was enabled, but I will take a look later again and report the result.

The Threema settings forward to the battery saver settings.
Attached are my settings.

It is strange, you haven't turn off the phone?

If you were only in 4G, and have done downloading and gaming at high brightness, it's not bad (you still have almost 40% left).
Do you have a Marshmallow 6.0 rom?

If you refer to the network signal dropouts.... having the same issues on my Redmi 3 device. Hope it's just a software thing and no hardware problem...

No, i don't turn off

It might be a battery problem or a ROM problem, change the rom.

Battery is good. Getting 3 days with 7-8+ hours SOT.
Change rom.... yeah.... we will have to wait till something's coming up since the device is for only 4 weeks by now on the market
Does anyone has this problem?
Device seams to be active even thou I always put on "airplane mode" before going to bed.
Check the image.
How is that my phone is always active on airplane mode!?

Yepp... see my screen above, the flat line in the middle is also airplane mode overnight and the phone is active!
Think there is only some (software) bugs still in the release firmware which will be fixed soon (hopefully).
Edit: Last night i edited my llama profile and let it switch to airplane mode + switch wifi off. ---> No phone activity shown in history!

Hi,
so you suggest to turn the wifi off before going in "airplane mode"? That I must try! Let's hope that fixex this software issue for the moment!
Looked like it, but unfortunately that wasn't the solution. Last night the bug was back. :-/

Did you guys know about "schedule power on/off" feature in xiaomi phones?, its a really great feature
On MIUI 8 my R3 finally shows correct battery stats!
Note: blank spaces on connectivity refer to overnight airplane mode.
Still don't know it it was only an displaying error or a faulty baseband, though now it works correctly, i'm fine with it.

Navigation dock turned almost invisible

Guys, my navigation dock has turned from its mainly white color to a semi transparent light gray and it is harder for me to see it, depending what is there on the screen it can be almost invisible to see it.
This happened to me once, like a month ago, but it somehow reverted back to its whittish color (after phone restart or a theme change). However it has now been a couple of hours, I recharged the phone, changed some themes, restarted the phone a couple of times, but still the dock remains light gray and hard to see.
I also tried turning it off/on but still no change of its color.
Plz help.
This is on mate 10 pro. 129
Maybe u switched on eye comfort?
If nothing works its easier to factory reset phone.
Good luck
Nope, I tried eye comfort on/off as well. Nothing happens. The dock behaves as if the brightness was set to lowest, and after the brightness went higher the dock remained at lowest brightness setting.
Solved: changed the launcher, then turned the dock off/on
And I have another question, it is possible to change the color to transparent navbar? Is there any application

Not really an answer to your question, but you dont really need NAV bar on mate 10. It will take only a day or two to get used to nav dock. As I presume your question is because you'd like to see the more screen possible. With nav bar off, and nav dock on, you will have that. I have not been using nav bar at all for the 99% of time that I used my m10pro. Nav dock only.
I would like to order was like the picture but that was not autohide

Just get rid of the nav bar. Look how clean it is without it.

Hi, can i ask the exact sequence you did to solve this problem?
I think I'm having the same problem as you do. It's not as white anymore and it's harder to see.
I'm using Nova launcher pro.
I tried switching to default, then switching back, then turning it on and off.
I tried turning it off, switching to default, then switching it back then turning it on..
Still no change.
Thanks in advance.
Double post
The other day it again turned pale for me, and I went for agressive few changes between the launchers, turning the phone on/off, but I have also turned nav dock on/off a few times, and all of a sudden it sprang back to life.
Just intensify these changes and the navdock will gain full luminousness.
I'm facing the same issue with my nav dock. It's irritating, because it should be something we shouldn't really have to bother about

Does Poco have ambient notifications?

Does the phone have ambient notifications ? (the notifications that show briefly on the screen when locked) It should be in the display section.
I have the Mi A1 which has Android One and this is a base feature of the product, so whenever I receive a notification, the phone screen briefly lights up, shows the notification summary, then fades out.
Thanks for the help.
I think it depends on theme
Wysłane z mojego POCOPHONE F1 przy użyciu Tapatalka
Yes, it has such possibility. It is located in "Lock screen & password" section and is called "Wake Lock screen for notifications". Was using it without any problems with both POCO and Nova launchers.
can anyone provide a picture of it in action ? Thanks!
If you want to see how such notification works - there is not much to show, in my case it looks exactly like e.g. in this article https://www.phonearena.com/news/How...-your-lock-screen-on-Android-Lollipop_id66572
Important point: after switching it on using the switch in "Lock screen & password", go to "Advanced settings" there and select how the notifications should be shown: notifications with content, without content or no notifications at all. If I'm not mistaken, you have to enable lock screen notification for each application you need to show notifications on lock screen (Installed applications -> tap on e.g. Messages app, tap on Notifications and there you can turn on lock screen notifications.
thanks katoda! so it's just a matter of turning on the screen to show the notifications then turning it back off again a bit later.
I thought there was some kind of special screen like they in the attachment below

Only amoled devices support always on display

I thinks that such effect makes sense only on OLED screens, where showing such notification permanently does not use much energy - only white dots consume it. For LCD screens, like on Poco, the entire screen must be powered on, including backlit, so you can imagine the impact on battery life.
But, of course, it is possible from technical point of view. I remember having a ROM on Moto G 4G some time ago with such an option.

WhatsApp web issues when phone is locked

My WhatsApp web keeps telling my phone is not connected as soon as the phone screen goes black.
The second I press any button and the screen is activated, then my messages gets delivered and WhatsApp web start working again.
Any idea?

you can try put whatsapp in "never sleep" in setting
(i didnt try it yet)

These settings were already like that (I think).
Is there anywhere else I should look at?

Did you also check in device care: battery, uncheck power saving mode
click background usage limits
add whatsapp to never sleeping apps.
Theres nothing else I did to get whatsapp to stay running.
Maybe reinstalling whatsapp might help. I've seen oddities fixed by that OR clearing data (which also resets the app to new).

Run backup to Google drive in WhatsApp and reinstall. I've seen bugs like that and modern software sucks so badly you'll never know why. Example Turbo tax 2020 is the current piece of crap that they know has an issue with windows 10 that they haven't fixed yet.

Question Apps to schedule off and on

Since One UI 5.0, the feature "Schedule Restart" had been removed. Is there a schedule restart app that works in Samsung S23 Ultra phone and does not requires the phone to be rooted? Tried "Refresh - Auto Reboot, No Root" app and seems complicated to setup and couldn't get it to work.

Yes I have enable this but is kind of useless. A proper Schedule Restart app will be good. Don't know why Samsung removed this feature with the new One UI 5.0.

Actually not much on restart, I want the phone to be schedule shutdown at for example 1am and power on at 7am which I been using the schedule off and on for my previous Mate and Xiaomi phones that came with this feature.
Edit: Change my thread title to "Apps to schedule off and on"
why you need to shut it off?
just use Do Not Disturb mode

The question is not that, the good thing would be to be able to turn it on or off at the scheduled time for whatever reason, but as far as I know in the Samsung now you can not
I don't see the sense in having the phone start up: unless there is no security setting - which is not sensible - the phone actually won't start up until the phone is unlocked by the user...
Settings for planned periods in do not disturb -, or Airplane mode, should serve most needs.

The automatic start is fine if you have programmed an alarm and leave the phone off, it will start and without having entered the credentials the alarm will sound.
