New Insiders Preview Version - Ugh! - Windows 11

Along with adding some Video Editor I don't want, and I don't know what else was added, but it borks the Taskbar in an aggravating way.
First, it made my Icons large again (It takes a registry edit to use small icons) and not only can you no longer rearrange Systray Icons - I like them Alphabetized, it puts "Hidden" Icons in a drop down that you cannot delete, even if there's nothing in it.
And now my Laptop, which I also updated has the stupid Evaluation Copy version in the lower left corner

Wm 6.5 Taskbar Opacity

Is there a quick fix to change the top and bottom task bar opacity in windows mobile 6.5?
in pre 6.5, the top and bottom taskbars were colours dependent on the theme .tsk files.
in 6.5, the top and bottom task bars are semi transparent to reveal the wallpaper behind it.
Is there a way, either through registry or a cab to change it to semi transparent 6.5 mode, and back to pre 6.5?
added a screenshot so u guys can see. as u can see, the top task bar, where the "Start" and "X" button are, is semi transparent, showing the background picture
the bottom taskbar, where the word "lock" is, is black, hiding the background wallpaper
this is from NRG's rom, where it apparently can be done, as u can see the top is transparent bottom is not
anyone have a fix, to make it transparent or not, whether registry or cab (cab preferable of course)
look through your windows directory, and find black_taskbar.png and black_softkey.png. Copy those and edit them however you want drop them back in windows and overwrite existing.
sorry, but what did u mean by edit them? wouldnt that just change the colour not opacity anyway?

The 2 files are solid black images. While I have had limited success in transparencies (Windows seems to strip the transparencies in my files)... I have had luck doing a cheap trick:
Take your desired wallpaper and use the top and bottom portion to replace the bars. You can see my rom's theme here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=517490&highlight=player911
while i understand your workaround, but wouldnt it default again the moment u change .tsk files? also, it doesnt let u change wallpapers on the fly, which is one of my main concerns

they're there... maybe hidden. It's "black_taskbar.png" and "black_softkeybar.png".
WM6.5 themes include top and bottom bars. So it's up to the theme to have matching graphics. Granted you can't change wallpapers on the fly using my method, but creating the top and bottom bar is super easy and if you just paste them in the Windows folder they'll take on a reboot.
Your goal is to simply make the taskbars semi-transparent black like the homescreen. PNG files support this but seems to be ignored by the OS. I put a semi-transparent layer on my graphics but had to flatten the image (make it one) for it to work.
Perhaps try a single semi-transparent black layer. Maybe it isn't stripping the transparent layer as much as just removing additional layers.
When Titanium (Windows Default) is enabled, the top and bottom bars are semi-transparent when you're at the homescreen or in the start menu. Everywhere else, they are opaque. Titanium actually does the transparency to the bars, from what I've read.
@Jason, i know, but the problem is as u can see frm the screenshot, the bottom part isnt becoming semi transparent

i've found the files, copied them from another rom, pasted into this rom and overwrite, but still, same problem as seen from the screenshot above. perhaps its not that file?
could someone perhaps upload in a zip, the files from their devices in question, so that i may try it out?
to clarify, it works perfectly fine in today screen. but NOT in start menu screen, as shown in the screenshot. so perhaps its a different png file, since its the start menu?
so....anyone got anything? i've tried much so far, no avail
I thought the bottom bar in the start menu was transparent too by default. Have you tried other's roms and see if it's the same?
all roms are fine except NRG's. maybe he did it intentionally for his rom. but it shows it can be done. but how. (have asked in his thread a few times, no reply from him)

Changelog
iPhoneToday v1.5.2 (Apr 15, 2010)
Improved scrolling performance. It should be really fast when there is no wallpaper or there is a gradient or image background for the mainscreen pages. Under these conditions you could even enable alpha blend on background without any performance loss.
Improved animation performance.
Added new animation effects. The available ones are: "None", "Expand rectangle from center", "Zoom out from center", "Zoom in to center", "Expand rectangle from clicked area", "Zoom out from clicked area", and "Zoom in to clicked area".
Added "animation" tab in options where you can select the animation effect, the animation duration, and whether to launch the application before the animation.
The "out of screen" tab got more options. You can now configure to stop scrolling when there are no more icons in a given direction.
Added an option to tile the background images.
Included a couple of tileable textures.
Included an iPhone background for the BottomBar.
Included some nicer looking bubbles.
When adding a new icon, it is now by default inserted at the end of the list not at the beginning.
Whenever edit boxes receive the keyboard focus all the text in them is selected and the keyboard is shown.
For PNDs added a "KB" button next to the "OK" and "X" buttons.
icons.xml and settings.xml are now always saved with DOS new lines.
Center button of D-pad jumps to first page.
Added --goto:right and --goto:left (similar to the --goto:next and --gotorevious).
Added a "Cradle State" icon.
Fixed non updating "Calendar & Appointments", "Unplayed Voice Mails" and "Irda State" icons.
Fixed exec alt of "Missed Calls & Signal Strength & Operator Name" icon.
Fixed an issue when text's color is black.
Other minor fixes and improvements...
iPhoneToday v1.5.1 (Apr 3, 2010)
Using registry notifications instead of polling for updating notifications (bubbles, date, time, etc.). Notifications (and reloadIcon) should now appear immediately. Battery foot print should also be smaller.
Icon, text, circles, offset sizes, etc. are scaled automatically if the application is launched in a different resolution than the one in settings.xml (LastConfiguredAt).
Bubbles are alpha blended.
Position, size, text, etc. of bubbles are configurable.
Added background image support for static bars (bottom bar and top bar). Gradient background can now be used even when a wallpaper is set. The background (gradient or image) of static bars can be alpha blended to the wallpaper.
ShrinkToFit option of static bars now shrinks the text height in addition to the icon width.
Added font settings dialog.
Renamed "GPRS State" icon to "Cell Network State".
Added "Missed Calls & Signal Strength & Operator Name" icon.
Added "Unplayed Voice Mails" icon.
Added "Irda State" icon.
Added "Phone Profile" icon.
No sound or vibration on launch if current profile is silent.
When battery is charging a dot is shown before the battery percentage to indicate charging.
If operator name is empty show NA for signal.
Changed the field "type" in the icon settings dialog from dropdown to droplist.
Fonts in the fonts subdirectory are automatically added/removed.
Load strExec and strParameters (in addition to nScreen, nIcon, strName, and strImage) from HKLM\Software\iPhoneToday\Icon...\ when HKLM\Software\iPhoneToday\reloadIcon is set.
Added a separate text quality option for text inside icons.
Added new pressed icons.
Added minimize OnLaunchIcon option (you have to manually edit settings.xml).
Added UpdateWhenInactive option (you have to manually edit settings.xml) to always update notifications even when window is inactive. The default value is 0 to save battery.
iPhoneToday v1.5.0 (Mar 21, 2010)
Fixed battery drainage issue.
Improved quality of icons by using the averaging interpolation method for resizing them.
Added an alternative method for alpha blending to the background that should be faster but requires more memory.
Added an option to "use mask for transparency" that might help the scrolling performance on some devices.
Added text quality option (Default, Draft, Nonantialiased, Antialiased, Cleartype, Cleartype comp), but it is available only when alpha blend on background is disabled.
Added facename (font family) option for the text labels under the icons, the header text, and the special icons text. (you have to manually configure the XML, no dialog yet).
Added shadow and roundrect options for the header text.
Added --winkey command to display the start menu.
Added an option to show battery percentage while charging (enabled by default).
Changed default value of vibration for non phone devices to 0.

Some minor fixes and improvements.
iPhoneToday v1.4.9 (Mar 15, 2010)
Fixed degraded quality of images of previous release (image resizing is done by the Windows Imaging API again).
Fixed a bug with background resizing.
Added RoundRect option (for now only in the XML, no dialog yet) to display a black rounded rectangular behind the text (like Android).
iPhoneToday v1.4.8 (Mar 14, 2010)
Using LPNG library (an extremely light-weight library - it just adds 6KB) if imaging API fails (mostly helpful for PNDs where imaging API is often missing). This allows now all devices to load and display transparent PNG icons.
Huge memory savings compared to v1.3 when AlphaBlend is disabled (32bit icons are now converted to whatever the screen supports, usually 16bit).
Fixed text labels being 1-2 pixels left of the center of the icons.
Fixed background color of options dialog to be the windows default color for menu backgrounds.
Added --keyboard command to show/hide the keyboard.
Only for PNDs: added a help button (question mark) on the title bar of the options and icon settings dialogs (next to the OK button) that toggles the appearance of the keyboard.
The 3-letter abbreviation of the day of the week is now by default displayed in the language of the user locale.
Converted the included pressed icons from gray scale to true color since LPNG only supports loading true color PNG images.
Resized the bubble icons.
Added a warning that scrolling will be slow when AlphaBlend is enabled on devices that do not natively support it.

I believe because he's not the author of the earlier versions (he's picked up the project where the original author abandoned it) and wants to be able to maintain his own thread and starting post. If he had just replied in the original thread, the thread owner might not update the starting post links and only those who read the whole thread (which is 287 pages long) would find the new version. I think that a new thread for a new author and new "life" for the project makes sense.
tronikos,
It looks really good. Some things...
1. Tapping the screen briefly flashes an all-white screen (the same that shows when loading and during the "animation" when pressing an icon). If anything, it'd be nice if it (and the loading screen and "animation" screen) were black, but, ideally, there shouldn't be any flashing at all, of course.
2. Is there an option to not display the taskbar? I realize that that's the normal way to get at the keyboard, but it'd be good to allow for alternatives (like MioPocket's MiniBar).
3. Flipping pages isn't a smooth as it seemed in the YouTube video that you pointed me to earlier. Could it be that the "movement" settings have been changed or is my device's 400MHz processor not powerful enough to handle the program smoothly?
4. Even though settings.xml indicates an icon width of 45px, when I loaded the program, the "autoconfigure" set it to 51, which made the icons look bad. I'm guessing that the program picks an icon size based on the resolution, which is probably a good thing, but perhaps it should choose from icon sizes that are multiples of 8 or 16, i.e. ones that would still look good when downsampled from the original 96x96 icons.
5. An icon on the button bar to access options and add icons would be a lot more intuitive than clicking and holding the background. Do you think that that's doable?
6. Have you made any progress in adding multiple categories (ex. "Settings", "Tools", "Apps", etc.) and a nav bar to switch between them?
7. Have you made any progress in adding icons outside of the main area and bottom area, so that we aren't restricted to them? I'd like to be able to define an icon anywhere that I want, including by giving exact coordinates.
Sorry to throw so much out there for you to address. I'm just, as you know, thinking about how I might adapt MioPocket to it, especially without having to remove features (such as the quick launch button, the SideBar, faux taskbar with start menu button and so on). It's really good so far and suitable for a lot of other people's uses already, though.
BTW, you might want to include some more information and a screenshot in the first post for those who aren't already familiar with the project . I suspect that that's your plan... just mentioning it in case not.
Wow this is really exciting. I love this app, it's really given my phone a new lease on life without its stylus.
I'm really curious to know what the change log for this version might look like, since iphone today is so central to my usability I'm a little more hesitant than I would normally be to just dive in and try a new version..
Tronikos,
can you please add me to the project on google code project?
My google account is: [email protected]
Thanks
egzthunder1,
I created this thread for the reasons Osprey00 mentioned.
I got permission from MiToNiOeS to create a google code project for iPhoneToday and upload my changes there. I hope that this move will help its further development.
Osprey00,
1. That was a stupid bug I introduced just before uploading it. Only the exe version is affected. I fixed it and uploaded 1 hour ago. Please redownload it.
2. Check the "Fullscreen" option under Misc tab. Also since the taskbar will automatically be shown whenever iPhoneToday loses focus you might want to check the "Never show taskbar" option too.
3. If my bugfix for #1 didn't do it please experiment with the "Movement" settings.
4. Yes MiToNiOeS originally had code to autoconfigure the icon size based on the screen width. I might change it to be multiple of 8 but the included icons will have to be updated too. I included MiToNiOeS's ones that are 90x90 and not 96x96. For now change AlreadyConfigured in the settings.xml to 1 and set the icon size from a script depending on the screen resolution.
5. Yes it is doable but since I don't have a device anymore (I got as a gift a nokia phone that fits my gps needs too) I am not planning to add any new features, only bugfixes.
6. Manually enter a header text in the icons.xml for each screen and change the mainscreen's top offset and header height in the options. For changing screens if you don't like flipping you can use the circles at the bottom.
7. Sorry no plans to do this.
bluenote73,
I changed quite a few things that I don't remember them now.
Once I find time to look into my code changes I will create a detailed changelog.
mathwiz314,
OK I added you.
Anyone,
If you can help in any way please feel free to ask me to add you.
You don't have to know coding. The project needs a summary page and documentation in the wiki.
Nice work, I was playing around with it in the CE emulator. I renamed your .exe as SysInfo-Start in my emulator miopocket setup. It started up everything fine and Iphone today as GUI. I get the white flashes sometimes too, but other then that it operates good. I would like a full time clock display on GUI. I would like more pages( might be possible havn't played with it enough yet), and be able to edit the dot buttons to easily navigate pages by pic or text (i.e. multimedia, setting, navigation). Going into the task bar setting and unchecking keep task bar on top, completely hide task bar, which is good IMO. I need to test it more, but your doing a fine job with this GUI.
Awesome that someone gets his hands on this.
Can't wait to see what will come next.
Hi tronikos
Thank you for keeping alive this wonderful today plugin
Hi, I don't really know much about coding but I can lend a hand if there are any graphics that need done. I don't know if this is the issue mentioned above but I have an HD2 and the icon resolution looks really low. Might I suggest using some of the many icon packs available in the HD2 Themes and Apps section or something.
Sorry if I said something noobish lol I haven't had a proper good look at it yet.
Dan
As requested, can you put a screenshot in this thread (or, at least, in your google code page) ?
I think we'are reacting better with a screenshot...
As someone said in the past : 'A pic is better than a thousand words' !
Good luck with the project !
@Osprey, Tronic and all Miopocket friends
After playing arround a little bit, all in all a very good tool. It is easy to add some pages and also create a header for the pages, so Miopocket Windows seven page folders (Favorites, Navigation etc.) could easily adapted. Also vertical scrolling is possible, but I don't know how to create pages?
Flipping pages was a mess at the beginning, instead off flipping, it always went to icon edit mode. I played arround with the movement settings, but had the feeling nothing is changing. At the very end, I disabled right klick in the settings. Now flipping works very good, but the way to come back to the setting page is closed. ==> Any ideas?
Regarding icons:
I added two icons from this board (not allowed to link)
to compare. On the picture these are the first two adobe test and igo test. By far looking better, but no problem to change.
Sorry, I am not allowed to link to image banana and , so I have to attach the picture as a zip file
Use imageshack (or photobucket...) to upload your pictures and post the forum version of the links (with pic thumbnail). Without the attachments size restrictions the bandwith cost would go through the roof!
@frmariam
it's the same. I am a new member (Feb 2009!!!!) and not allowed to link to external pages. BTW also internal links seems to be not allowed.
Probably somebody could link to the picture?
img709.imageshack.us/img709/7913/capture004k.png
Schlork,
Putting an original copy of setting.xml in your install will take you back to default.
I noticed that the clock and calender icon are actually the clock and calender and can be customized in options somewhat. I placed the clock on bottom bar. Still trying to figure out adding pages and headers and still working with it in CE emulator.

I don't know if we are all working on the same page. Some of the posters are redirected from Tronikos to post here. We are owning thumb GPS devices, which became Porsche's since Osprey developed Miopocket for. Even now more with ability to have iphone functions.

Thanks! It's not a problem to switch back, I could easily write a script and put it on a button for that. But I am wondering, if there is not another solution?
@sinoo
pretty thanks! And OT how can I convince Mods to be not a spammer?
Hi, where can i fin the "full" changelog?
Hope I can help
I know a little about coding, but I make mean FAQ and display pages (see links in my sig). I am very happy that this got picked back up and look forward to new releases. Anyone from the old iPT forum knows how much I was involved there, and I hope I can help as much here and on the google code page.

[Guide] Creation of theme with transparent Icons

At the request of a number of you, here's a little tutorial explaining how I made the theme below, I called abstract theme (do not ask me why ...)
(Note that I am not the inventor of this type of theme, I am inspired by many themes I have seen on other forums, I thank very much the creators of wallpapers I used (I never remind theyre names except EG Fox, sorry for that))
1/ So, to start, install Launcherpro (you can also take the "plus" but paying)
(for those who are using ADW, a trick is done at the end of the tutorial)
2/ Adjust the settings you prefer (this is only the parameters related to the theme I present now, but there are other possible parameters):
- Number of pages, the default page, the number of columns, the number of lines (to position your shortcuts, personally I have 8 columns and 8 rows) => Menu / Settings / Homescreen Settings
- Number of dock (the dock is the Quick Launch bar that is located right in landscape mode, you have 5 possible shortcuts in one dock and it is possible to have up to 3 docks (to slide up or down on the dock) => Menu / Preferences / Dock Settings (you can also specify, if you choose to put shortcuts telephone, email and sms on the dock, if you want to be displayed a count of unread events)
- The bottom of the Dock (in the theme as an example, I have no background) => Menu / Preferences / Appearance Settings / Dock Background / None (if you want to put a custom dock by you or found on the net, then you must choose "Custom" and pick the dock from your SD card)
3/ Choose your screen and resize it at 800x480. So that the bottom is not distorted, use Multipicture Live Wallpaper which allows you to set a different wallpaper per page (if desired). Multipicture Live Wallpaperr is managed as an animated wallpaper
The bottom will not be distorted but the 36 Pxls top will be hidden by the notification bar.
4/ Then you need to know, based on the number of rows and columns you have chosen, where you must place your text on the wallpaper. To do so, complete page fully of shortcuts. Then made a screenshot, I recommend the excellent ScreenShot
5/ On your PC, using your editing software (photoshop, photofiltre ... etc.) you can have your wallpaper nude and the screen as it will be on your Streak with the location where applications will be.
So place your text on your nude background by ensuring that these areas are easily covered by applications..
Your wallpaper is ready !
6/ Now install Desktop Visualizer, which allows you to put shortcuts transparent (especially)
(For those who could not find it on the Market : http://www.partage-facile.com/GYV6DGY6CW/jp.co.bii.android.app.dskvzr.apk.html )
7/ Desktop Visualizer works as a widget : long press on background / add a widget and choose desktop visualizer (it has different sizes, choose the one that best fits the space you have planned for your shortcut)
DV lets you choose the icon of the application to launch, get the transparent icon on your SD card (if you do not have a transparent icon, here's one : http://www.partage-facile.com/0GJIEOUAO0/transparent.png.html )
Then select the application you want to start.
Delete the text of the application and confirm (you can change or remove the highlighting that appears when you press the link to the application you're using, otherwise it will be orange)
8/ Once you've validated, you see nothing changed on the screen, it is normal because you have placed a transparent icon ! The link will always be placed to the top left corner of your home. Make a mong press along the top left, your widget will be highlighted by launcherpro.
You may notice a kind of tab in the lower right corner of your shortcut, by pressing and holding down while moving your finger, you can resize your widget as you like.
So give the desired size for your shortcut and press "back", the highlight disappears. Now made a long press on the top left of the streak and held down, move your widget transparent to the place you want on your home. (To verify that it is well positioned, have a long support for and release to highlight it)
Do this for each shortcut you provided on your screen.
9/ The last step is the Dock. You've already put in the dock transparent, but it remains the shortcuts on the dock that are visible.
Make a long press on shortcuts, you can either change an icon (change icon/custom icon) or change the shortcut and put any you want and you can still choose the transparent icon before finalizing this shortcut.
Then, I think I pretty much said it all. To summarize, here is my wallpaper ith some details :
This is obviously a simple example that you described above some customization capabilities. Unleash your imagination and make us great themes!
I hope I was clear about (and sorry for my english), do not hesitate if you have questions or additions
Some other example of themes done with this method :
My latest :
I compiled my wallpapers and you can download them (empty and modified) here (updated with the 3 latest) : http://www.partage-facile.com/O87TRUWWBJ/compil_theme.zip.html
For you guys who wants to use these themes but on ADW Launcher, if you have any problem with Multipicture Live Wallpaper, you can try Wallstreak instead of multipicture live.
Wallstreak is not available on the market, but you can get it from this link
http://forum.pocketables.net/showthread.php?p=55644
Thank you to ramtix for this trick
Thats a easy to follow tutorial
& your english is 100 times better than my french so no need for you to apologise

Thank you for your comments
@skyscraper04, I had a link to download my wallpapers at the end of the first post
thanks a bunch
Cant open the zip file for wallpapers.
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
I don't understand why you can't. I did some tests and I never had any problem to open the .zip (on my PC)
Did you try it on your Streak or on your PC ?
Anybody else with this problem ?
Nice work mate...love it
very creative way to get a whole new look. Nice idea!
Thank you
But the idea is not from me. I was inspired by themes I saw on other forum.
For information, I updated the .zip at the end of the 1st thread with my latest wallpapers
dude..tried to use one of your attachment as wallpaper, but everytime it asks the picture to be cropped. How do I go around this? I want the whole picture to appear on the screen
I'm not sure I've well understood your problem, but I use Multipicture live Wallpaper who allow me to have one wallpaper per page.
Is it your question ? (sorry, my english is limited)
Hi Lestat, I sorted it out. I wasnt using MultiPicture Live and I use ADW Launcher.
For you guys who wants to use Lestat's theme but on ADW Launcher, try Wallstreak instead of multipicture live.
Wallstreak is not available on the market, but you can get it from this link
http://forum.pocketables.net/showthread.php?p=55644
Thank you for the information. I added your trick at the end of the tutorial
actually I also tried multipicture live on ADW and it works perfect..better than wallstreak, more options of customization..so guys, try it. Now my desktop is uncluttered and looks better..awesome work lestat! Hope you continue this work and more wallpapers to come ;-)
Cool, thanks for the new ideas !
In your fourth example screenshot How did you get gmail, sms and phone missed calls working like that? I thought that only worked on the dock.

[THEME]WretchedBlues 0.1.4.10: cuz all the cool kids are doing it! (4/14)

FROYO ONLY
CM7 users can manually push the framework-res.apk to their devices
See the change log in the next post for changes
Official name changed is happening
Due to the fact that Clean and Theme rhyme and I always feel silly saying it in my head, I'm changing the theme name to WretchedBlues. Blues, because the primary color is blue. I'm already picturing some fun names for future modded themes, such as WretchedLove (Red) and WretchedEnvy (Green), etc..
So what's in the theme?
Pretty graphics (of course)
Ubuntu fonts
Color Settings app
Modded Vending (currently only for the MDPI users, but this will get updated in the next day or two)
This is a themed framework for those running on Froyo. It is a complete make over for both MDPI and HDPI density settings. For those of you who are new, you view screenshots at the theme's webpage.
What mods do you include?
A Straight up theme with no mods
Thanks to brianf21, we now have a status bar on the bottom of the screen. His mod also adds a home/menu/back button and fixes FCs on known apps (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=999214)
I had one very determined person hound me about the Volume +- mapping mod. I've inlcuded a package for that as well
***you must revert back to standard WretchedBlues before flashing this version!***
What's new in this version?
All themes are Flashable via Clockwork Recovery
Should work on all DPI settings
Completely new look for the HDPI version, while still bringing over some of the MDPI elements (quality increased to suit the HDPI display though). Things that have not changed are limited to buttons and text fields. I felt they looked good enough so why go changing them
Ubuntu fonts
I've removed every mention of the word "phone" from as much of the framework as I can. No more "Power options". It now reads "Nook options" and "Your Nook will power down".
Added a new look and feel to all pop-up windows.
New spinners
Semi-transparent notification pulldown (again, thenk Fuzzy_Dunlop)
Added a revert for Sweetened
Plus more
Downloads and Screenies

Changelog
02/07/2011
added the CWM flashable update.zip (http://jjis.me/froyo-clean/update.zip) file
corrected the text color of the "clear all" button under the status expanded menu
attempted to alter the color of the png for the activity status bar, but don't like the new color either
02/08/2011
Corrected the black text in the extended status bar notifications. I had to change the backgrounds to a lighter color since I can not control every app that will post notifications.
Notification headers now have a green background to tie with the green icons in the status bar.
Activity header background color has been altered to eliminate banding.
Altered the progress bars for those who were not happy with the over use of blue (and I agree after using for a few days). I've altered the bars to match the colors of the list select items.
Included the themed Market 2.2.11 so the icons in the status bar tie in better with the overall theme
I made the status pull down a little bit darker (depending on the number of request, I'll make the status bar darker as well)
That's it for now. If you guys have color suggestions for the progress bars and notification header backgrounds, let me know. I'm open to ideas. I'm trying to limit the number of colors I use though, so nothing crazy. It still needs to tie into the overall theme.

Updated the updater-script for CWM. It will clear the Dalvik Cache in hopes that it will free memory of left over files. There was also an issue in Froyo 0.6.7 where an extra framework folder was copied to /system/framework. The new script deletes this folder since it is not needed. I'm also clearing the old framework-res.apk, services.jar, Vending.apk and bootanimation.zip files before copying mine over. Again, hopefully this will clear up any performance problems people were having. I've looked at optimizing some more, but after comparing my files to the stock Froyo framework files, mine are actually smaller in file size.
Pulled the Vending.apk from the Gapps package being used for Froyo 0.6.6 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=917660). I've been using it on my Nook and haven't had a problem with it at all. Seems to work well.
02/11/2011
Color icons in Settings
Set status bar to black
Extended status menu is now black to match
Custom menu selection background
02/25/2011
Added HDPI from Galaxy S Cognition ROM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tovif0oZxUs
Changed the boot animation to the new Nook Color Red Blue animation http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=952188&highlight=boot+animation (thanks Chuck6993)
03/02/2011
Finally got the back button issue fixed
Removed all mentions of the word phone and replaced with NOOKcolor (e.g. "Your NOOKcolor will shut down")
03/13/2011
Softkeys version: semi-transparent notification menu added, graciously, by Fuzzy_Dunlop (yes, I will apply to the non-softkeys version as well)
03/24/2011
Officially dropping support for soft keys mod in version WretchedBlues 0.1 and older. Too many bugs with it and this was not something I supported
Added the new modded status bar. This mod moves the status bar to bottom and adds a notification/home/menu/back button. It also fixes known FCs that were in the old version. Thanks goes to brianf21 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=999214)
Made all versions compatible with DPI settings
03/25/2011
Corrected the framework strings to remove as many instances of the word "phone" where applicable. Should now read either "NOOKcolor" or "device" throughout the framework.
Changed the options menus to be semi-transparent black with white text to match the status bar better.
03/28/2011
Introducing a new versioning system. The status bar mod will have a version number matching the date of brianf21's updates. This may change once he gets his mod to update without having to alter the services.jar and framework-res.apk files. For now, though, my version number will match his release dates so you guys will know if my theme is up to date.
Made the status bar background solid black
Increased the contrast of the status bar buttons.
The options menu now matches the status bar a little better
03/30/2011
Just a minor tweak to Sweetened to remove a density setting tag
Updated unModded to 0.1.3 (black status bar, better looking options menu)
Added a revert for Sweetened to go back to unModded
04/14/2011
Finally got off my lazy butt and updated the Sweetened theme to brianf21's 4/10 update
I've no additional changes, hence no update to unModded
Upcoming Changes
make the options menu seem more integrated with the theme in 0.1.2. It was a quick hack and I'm not too happy with it. Just doesn't seem to look right compared to the status bar
Can anyone think of anything else?
installed successfully on 0.6.6 and seems to be working just as advertised. aside from a typo in the instructions - "adb push clean-services.jar /system/framework/serverices.jar" everything installed smoothly. good work!

Oops. My coding habits coming out there. I apparently type $_SERVER way too often
Thanks for the catch. It's corrected now.
Beforehand, thanks for your work and development on the nook
Now, is there any chance of incorporating the Menu and Back button mod for the Status bar into this theme?
Original thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=932631
I know there are quite a few of us early Froyo(emmc) adopters that use this mod instead of remapping the vol+/- hard buttons.
Looks amazing. Is there any way I can add the softkeys to this theme? They are featured in theis thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=932631
I am afraid if I push them over your files it will mess something up and not boot.
Awesome them though!
I will have to look at that apk and see what changes they've made. I haven't used it yet so I'm not sure what will happen. If it looks like it's something doable then I can put together a framework with and without.
Normally, I use Button Savior in the market as work around for you for now.

Already installed I was using the button mod for the volume keys, but I found it was more convient to have the volume buttons with the keys on softbar, with button savior as a backup for some misc things. I kinda liked that better. But again awesome theme!! Is that Zegou UI you are using for the font? I dont know anything about theming, but I am decent with photoshop. If you send me the pngs( I assume thats what they are) I would love to make a red/black verison for you to recompile back into a theme.
Excellent work, will test and post any bugs!
I'm actually going to post the PSD files as soon as I get them cleaned up. I need to edit the layer names and file names so they match the file name of the PNG they're replacing.

is there any way to fix the notification pull down? It's always scaled poorly (doesn't stretch across the screen). Perhaps some xml file in the framework somewhere?
I have managed to get it fullscreen before by messing with lcd density, but it never seems to survice a reboot
Installed without a hitch! It looks great. I will post a screen of my set up, after I tweak a few things.
Nice work!

I am looking into this. It's not in the XML files. They all read "fill_parent" so there is something else I'm missing. I'm starting to think it's something in the jar files. As soon as I have a fix though, it will be posted.
W00t the only part of stock I missed was the blk. Installed fine on eMMC, happy to get away from froyos ugly gray

Looks like I missed a minor thing. The Clear All button in the status expanded menu is white text. Should be black. I'm working on the flashable zip so I will include the fix when I get the update.zip working.
Unfortunately CWM doesn't want to play nice with me so the update.zip is taking longer than I wanted.

How can I install this without ADB?

I don't believe you can yet. Just for kicks I tried installing it by using Root Expolrer to replace the files, and it put me in a boot loop. Terminal Emulator might work, but I haven't tried.

A Few Things I Noticed Missing

Started getting down and dirty with Themer last night from a designer's standpoint. I know some of these issues can be solved by theming the majority on my home pc, but i wanted to point out some things that are missing that would make pure mobile theming possible/easier (that's what i want out of this or any theming apps. i can easily create the majority of my themes on a pc when going the apex/nova route, but i want to theme strictly on my phone which is what i assume is the main point/appeal of launchers like Themer).
OK, here they are:
1) Icons - I'd like to have control over my icons while theming. Even giving us an option to select from Themer's icons would be nice. As it currently stands, you have to choose icon images from and only from your photo gallery. If we can't import custom icon packs, the ability to select from Themer's icons would be great.
2) Everything Widget "Layers" - This is a great feature, but can be polished. I tried to edit some existing widgets (google play theme, wanted to put my own image/slideshow instead of the random google banner images) and once i put the new image up it covered up the "google now" search bar. There are currently no options or toggles to change layers in the widgets.
3) Layout Issues - When i am working on putting up new widgets the orientation is all wacky. Sometimes it'll stagger the widget grid onto the left or right page, meaning that it isn't centered on the screen i'm working on. makes aligning and tweaking the layout really tough.
That's all i've got now. Any fixes or suggestions are welcome, but i thought it'd be helpful to roll up some of the issues we as themers are having. I REALLY love being able to just throw a new theme on my phone at any given time and the available themes are all nice looking and pretty tight when it comes to performance....i just can't help but adjust and tweak once i get my hands on them >.<
