installing programs / games to the sd card
Is this possible..?

Yes. Using Active Sync install the program but when you get to the point where it asks you to install in default memory choose no and install into storage card instead.
Some programs can be affected by running from the storage card but most are fine.

Can I USE MY SD CARD TO RUN APPLICATIONS

Hi XDA Pro's,
I have O2 XDA with 32 MB of Ram and Rom installed, with PPC 2003 2nd edition installed. the problem I am facing is that i cannot run applications that are big, as everytime i run them i have to go to setting and stop all unwanted running applications, to avoid memory shortage.
Is there a way i can use my SD card's free memory to run big applications..... any answers
Challu
it asks you if you want to install the program in the default location when you install programs using activesync
the sd card is not the default location
so dont pick default
There is no possibilty to use sd card memory for running programs.
The programs uses all the memory from your device.
You could only install these files on you SD-card like Rudegar said.
This keeps more memory free of aour device, so that more memory could be used for the working programs....
Stefan
SD card memory is not virtual memory for running programs, it is storage only, if a program is executed from sd card it still takes up ram on your phone for the code.

Click to collapse
It's a trick that are in some customer ROM builds info combination with a t-mous radio.
you can do the following:
1. update to new 3.14 rom...earlier versions all hotfixes you installed , were installed on device memory
2. download google maps and install on sd card and delete the file and folders of googlemaps on your internal memory
3. same with opera,.
(........also delete opera.exe, operal from windows folder)
4. delete wallpapers/ringtones and songs you dont use from device internal memory
5. try the htc album cache move to sd card cab...to move the album cache to sd
(if not working, try deleting the files in cache of application data/htc/album/cache..........................temporary solution)
6. change settings in camera to store pics in sd card as default
7.always try to install new cabs on sd card as much as possible
8. don't install many gameloft games ...they install on internal memory by default
9. B&N reader and its books get installed on device...can't help it
enjoy

Installing games on EXTERNAL sd card

Hi,
I am just using latest sale LPY rom which is great.
I had another phone back at the time (959V) with Team Acid CM 9.1 which as I recall allowed me to install some games into the external SD card, But the current rom on the S2 phone does not seem to allow that (tried installing Modern combat 3 and NOVA 3 - But most of the data is kept on the INTERNAL SD card, even when I use the "move to sd card" function in applications).
Is there a way to use the external SD card to actually install games with large amount of data on them ?
Thank you

[Q] Installing games

Hi,
I tried installing high end games which require high memory space on my canvas HD. This was as per the guidelines mentioned on the download sites as well as some threads on this forum. The problem that I am facing is as follows:
# I have an external memory card 14GB. I installed the .apk file first and then copied the contents of the cache folder (.obb extension!!??) into external sd card>Android>obb. Then I tried to run the game but it asks me to download the cache separately. What am I doing wrong?
# I also wanted to know, I have my default write disk selected as external SD card. So whenever I install any .apk file, does the program get installed in the external memory card?
# In the apps section, there is one phone memory and internal SD card memory. Does the phone memory correspond to 2 GB default memory and the internal SD card correspond to the 14 GB? While installing any program, what memory should I select?
Cheers
