does the xda(o2) 32 mb and the 64mb is the same machine - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

because i heared that the o2 with 64mb is class b that i dont now what is it - class b??
does both of them support gprs technology
i heared that ther is only xda with 32 and if u want 64 u have to upgrade it ? does it right ??

I believe the GPRS class b was just a software update.
They are almost the same machine. You can buy a 64Mb version. You can also upgrade, but this path invalidates your warranty, becaue O2 want you to pay for the real thing.

It has to have class B, however my XDA drops GPRS connection every time I receive a call or make a call. So efectively, it is class A...

does there is a 64 built in from the factory - or there is o
only 32mb xda
i cheked in usa and antwerp and they have only 32mb model
and iv been told that there is only one model 32 and all the rest is
company that upgrade there xda - does it right ?

No, not right. I have a 64mb xda, purchased at a shop in England. I used to have a 32mb before but that stopped working, and all they could give me was a 64mb xda. 64mb is now only option in UK, I believe (and possibly Singapore/Asia also).
They all support GPRS, but as Zviratko says, not very well!

Alex.

New TyTn / M3100 Owners buying memory cards

Just a quick note to all new TyTn / M3100 / Vario II / V1605 owners.
I, like you guys, need to buy a MicroSD memory card
I was looking at ebay to buy one as I have bought memory cards before for good prices, but found amazon are actually cheaper than ebay!
1GB cards on ebay are going for around £26-£30 plus £6 postage.
Just bought one from amazon (Sandisk) for £23.59 including supersaver delivery.
Just though this might help someone save a few quid!
Markee
a place called mobymemory.com also have them for the £25 but they have 2gb ones in for £62!
Anyone else seen a uk supplier (non ebay) carring 2gb micro SD's yet for less than £62?
Best price I've seen (£52.88 inc vat), but I've never used the supplier and they are not currently in stock:
http://www.memorycardzoo.co.uk/799/Sandisk/Micro-SD/2GB/froogle/&utm_source=froogle&utm_medium=cpc
personally I'm getting up and running with a 1Gb card, and then seeing how the prices settle in a couple of months.
You can get a 2gb card herehttp://www.totallymobile.co.uk/basket.php?action=add&prod=SDSDQ-2048-E10M for £52.49 delivered.
Best price i've seen out of ebay yet!

By the time you've added delivery (€8,90 within germany, and €12,40 within the EU) these are relatively unremarkeable prices.
Around about £22/£23 delivered seems to be the going budget price for a 1Gb microSD.

But the offers you can find in Geizhals are not yet on stock anywhere.
BTW:
Who of you already uses a 2GB MicroSD Card in a TyTN ?
I'd be really curious whether it works or not and if so whether it works well.
There is a Taiwanes (?) manufacturer, who already ships 4 GB *MINI* SD Cards (note: MINI not Micro).
I could well use it in my Qtek 8300 Smartphone (which I often also use as an alternative to a USB stick).
Yet there is a report on the net of someone who has ordered it and found it just shows 2GB on the 8300, but 4GB in a card reader.
So the card is ok, but cannot be read by the mobile !
Problem is that the built-in card reader as well as the driver file has to be able to cope with these large memory cards.
With the normal (full-size) SD Cards there seem to be a spec-barrier at 2GB. There are 4GB cards that can be read in some but not all devices. In most of the devices, which can read them it lasts much longer to access the file directory (e.g. in my Casio Exilim cam :-(
I don't know anything (neither do I have trusted feedback) about the compatibility of 2GB MicroSD cards in PDAs (not to speak of the TyTN).
So I am keen to find out here soon
someone on Howard Forums bought a 2GB from Verizon in the US and says he's having signifcant problems as it seems to lag and slow down his TyTN alot.. dunno if anyone else has issues here..?
I purchased a Sandisk Ultra II (high speed) 1gb from buy.com for $39.99 shipped after rebate in anticipation of ordering my TyTn....Too great of a deal to pass up considering that the Ultra II has almost double the read/write speed of the standard microSD.
That TotallyMobile card looks tempting, but I'd love to know whether there's a significant performance difference between normal vs Ultra II MicroSDs when in use on a HTC Hermes/TyTN. Anyone have any reviews covering this (or on a similar HTC device)?
@ marcusjt
looking at the post from iboj007 it looks like there is a performance improvement as you would expect.
I suppose 2Gb ultraII cards are on their way but how long? then there will be a 4Gb standard card and then there will be a 4Gb ultra II just round the corner etc etc
I noticed that ultra II vs normal in miniSD on the Wizard often made the difference in playback of mp3's and videos from the memory card. I would imagine the same would be the case for the tytn.
I bought this:
1 Gb from ebay
Paid on monday, arrived this morning (four working days). Am currently loading stuff on to it for my visit to Croatia next week.
One thing I have noticed is that it's very easy for the memory card to stick in the reader (on the phone) rather than ejecting with a further press. If you take the back off the phone, and remove the battery, you can see the card reader slot (complete with metal cover) alongside the sim card. In the top left corner of this cover is a small square hole into which the stylus point can be inserted to slide a stuck card forward. I find tweasors most useful for gripping and removing the card.
I hope that helps somebody - it took me a while to figure out.
I got a 2GB sandisk from Verizon and it is recognised fine. The problem i have is when scrolling the list of files it sometimes hangs the whole device as the files start to be displayed. I have formatted the card as FAT but it still happened. Now testing the card formatted as FAT32. I will try changing the card if it still happens.
Got my 2gb Sandisk, works fine. No complaints from me at all.
luke.a.jones, did you format your card and if so with what format: FAT or FAT 32? thanks.
no i did't formatt it i just stuck it straight in, ill check that format its on.
EDIT:
Mine is formatted in FAT.
thanks for the info.
SanDisk 1GB MicroSD not working after 4days!!!
Hi Everyone!
Just to let you know that I suspect a similar problem with the M3100 as I had with my M600. Seeing as the phone as is new, I doubt anyone has been using their microSD cards for longer than a few weeks. My M600 and M500 had problems with recognising the SD cards (sometime, not always) and now this with my brand new M3100 and SanDisk... Wondering if its maybe a wide spread problem... else I should be Jinx in the next Bond movie!
Let me know how your microSDs fare.
Viktor
P.S. I won't be able to reply for 2 weeks - I am off on holiday!

4GB mini SD £39.99!

http://www.mobymemory.com/proddetail.asp?prod=miniSD_4096mb_MOBY_001
Yeah, I've just see it when looking on google. Shame I only recently (well 4 months ago) bought a 2GB card. I can donate it to someone but I don't think I'll part with it yet.
I thought the Wizard required some sort of not yet available firmware upgrade before it could go beyond 2GB miniSD cards.
In fact, this link from SanDisk makes it sound as though our phones will never be able to use these cards:

Again Maybe this is a firmware limatation
Maybe...
Maybe it would work by splitting the 4Gb into two logical disk 2Gb each?
By the way I don't know what to load to 2Gb, I have about 1,3 Gb free space in my miniSD. I mean is it so needed the 4Gb card? Any suggestions?
4 GB Mini SD
Well storage space I can always use. My Tom Tom map of Western Europe already takes away 1Gb. Some movies converted to divx take about 600Mb the rest is used for backups and cab files of the programs I use on my device. So 4Gb of storage would be a very nice option. Doesn't matter if this has to be split in two partitions of 2Gb each. I would love it
Nico
As far as I can tell, there are no REAL 4GB MINI SD's. They all seem to be fake... 2GB SD made to look like 4GB... Buyer beware!

4g miniSD that works
I have purchased a 4G miniSD from http://www.emartbuy.co.uk/index.php.
It works. There is a small problem with access time, i.e. it takes longer to write to and access the card than the 2G did, but apart from that there are no issues.
All I did was use a card reader and copy everything from the 2G card to the 4G card, put it in the device and away it went, like nothing had changed. Except now there is twice the storage. YAY. The card is brandless and is probably a reflashed card, but I don't care because it works for me.
Hey if any of you are doubting the 4gb mini sd at mobymemory I can confirm it certainly is 4gb card and definetly works in the wizard.
This isn't a reply to your asking if it works. The listed price here was $78 (USD) roughly if i'm not mistaken. I'm sorry, but i'm not paying $78. I already paid $55 for mine and am just awaiting it's arrival in the mail. Hopefully I'll get it soon so I can pop that sucker in and flash my firmware till i see it. I want 4gb because I love movies on the go, and I have some nice tools that do about 4mb/min of video, now that's 1000 minutes of video... or if you load 2 hour movies: roughly 7 movies. At 320x240 stereo mp4 44100khz. Now to just find a bloody adapter for being able to pick up phone calls with my own earbuds, and now to find good earbuds...
I got my 4gb in the mail today! It's completely unmarked which I thought was weird, and upon first popping it in, my MDA would NOT read it, however, after popping it in my computer and reformatting it into FAT32 again (it was FAT32 when i checked it with the computer), it works just fine. Reads out fully too! I got mine on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=200065103874
$54.95 including shipping (which was 2 days by usps mail).

Have you checked to see if you can Rightclick the "removable drive" the card is in on your computer and see if you have the option "Format"? I had to format my card before it was usable in my MDA and computer.

You may need to update the firmware on your card reader.
Guys
4GB miniSD cards are fake products. Real 4GB memory cards are SD-HC (SD 2.0) standard compatible, not SD 1.0 compatible in agree with the SD Standard Association. Look a real 4GB SD HC memory card of the pioneer on memory cards in this link and looks the SD HC logo:
http://www.sandisk.com/Products/Ite...sk_miniSDHC_Card_4GB_miniSD_HighCapacity.aspx
SDHC is not backward compatible with SD standard.
Beware of fake product, SanDisk is a reputable manufacturer and the pioneer on this type of memory cards.
Beware
Apparently I bourght a SDHC miniSD card.
Thanks for all the replay. Apparently I bought a SDHC card. It's not comparable with 8125. I have to RMA it, by paying 15% restock fee.
I hope other users won't make the same mistake.
jjss4433
i have seen them at www.unityelectronics.com for $80[USD].
they might be fakes but most people have to format the m and use them as 2-2gb cards.
i almost bought one but i'm going to buy a 2gb tomorrow for $20[USD] from www.newegg.com
&&edit&&
they have the 4gb mini sd on ebay for ~~$35-45 USD.

What brand SDHC card is everyone using?

Does not seam like im the only one having problems with my card. I have posted a couple of times and was directly refering to att rom. I have since tried some new roms and my transcend 4 gb class 6 still does not work properly. Before I purchase a new one I would like to know what everyone else is using. I would like to get a 4 gb because that is in my price range.
Thanks,
Nicholas
Well, not using SDHC Card, just 2Gb SanDisk arround many WM6/6.1 ROMs, and it's works well
I have a sandisk 2GB and it works great no problems. The price gap between a 2gb and a 4gb cards has me salivating for more space.
I'm using an 8GB SDHC card (Class 4: around 7.5MB/sec) from SanDisk. You can easily find them these days for around € 30,-
I'm using SunDisk 8Gb sold at AT&T store. It has been working without fail so far. Previously I have used 2gb, 4Gb version and they works fine with everyday I play music during my commute and place temp file for the pocket explorer as well as exchange push-ed e-mail attachments.
Hi
I run Schap's 3.54b and use a class 2 SanDisk 4Gb SDHC (part no. SDSDQ-4096-E11M).
It works perfectly!!

I've got my new 8Gb SanDisk uSHDC (code SDSDQ-8192-P60M) and it works well on my Hermes200.
sandisk 4GB, so many mp3s and TV shows =P.
I just bought an 8GB SanDisk Mobile Ultra (Class 8 microSDHC) from a local store here today. It's been working great so far.
I have Sandisk 8gb class4....
Question:
Will a San Disk 16gb class2 work in my phone?
Sandisk 4GB is about right for my hermes...
sandisk 4gb.
SanDisk 4GB class2
Not working, Hermes (Tytn)
ROM Schap's pro 4.31, not working
ROM WM_6.1_TouchFlo2D_UC_ WWE v3, not working
ROM MRH 9.0 Valerian | FINAL | UC | Build 20273 |, not working
Someone can help?
2GB Kingston
I got a killer deal on outpost.com (Fry's online store) today. $11.99 for a 2gb micro sd card "mobility kit", with usb adapter, and 2 added adapters (sd and mini sd). If you order online and then choose your local Fry's as the pickup you can get the online prices "in the store" right then and there without a delivery charge. Has a lifetime warranty and case for the spare adapters.
I'm running the old 5.0 O/S on my Hermes. It recognized it right away. No problems.

Wait... a second...
Does SDHC works with tytn (hermes100) att 8525?
But... are you using a patch for drivers or certificates?
I think it dont recognize HC?!!!!
Damn!!!
I'm using a SanDisk 4GB class2, and it works just fine.
I keep a lot of pdf manuals, excel and word files on it. Along with installing extra programs, and backing things up.

Damn is right, LOL.. I bought a Kingston 2GB SD card from micro center, they had 4GB on sale too, I saw on HTC site Hermes only supported 2GB..
So how big a card can I go? Does the ROM have anything to do with that? I'm using WM6.1Pro..
I think someone already replied in this thread saying they are running a 16gb card. I have a tiny 6gb now and will upgrade to a 16gb soon. Need more storage, TomTom 7 uses over a gig just for maps and install software.

Wifi calling on S9 Plus G965FD 256GB

Hi
1. I am looking at purchasing two Samsung Galaxy S9+ Plus (256 GB) G965FD Dual Sim (SIM-Free / Unlocked) phones from a UK company in Leeds UK called Empire Hut. They are imports and are sourced from the UAE and are brand new sealed boxed. The company (Empire Hut) give a two year warranty but if there is a problem it is handled by them who send to/from Samsung. I have no problem with that.
I will be putting them on the a BT SIM only (4GB) contract because I am already with them and can get a good family deal at £10 monthly for the 1st SIM and £8 for second SIM.
Some questions if I may!
a). I live in a very poor signal area and will be using Wifi calling always in the house. Both phones we have at present are Samsung S7's and work successful in this mode in my house. Also looking at the BT site they list many phones that do support wifi calling and list the S9+
I asked Empire Hut if they knew if these imports (G965FD Dual Sim)(different supporting configuration) would work using Wifi calling, because it is important to my wife and myself that they do. The operative did not know the answer and would not commit herself in chat. I also asked the new guy in the new Samsung shop just opened in Reading Berkshire and he is fairly sure it does. Does anyone on this forum know for certain because they already do it?, Perhaps I am being overcautious with this question? Belt and braces so to speak.
b). Browsing the internet (as one does), I did read somewhere that the ROM versions are different (region specific) and certain payment systems (samsung pay) will not work. This is not important to me and is not a show stopper.
c). Also searching I saw mentioned (sorry no link) that I may not be able to update this android system (regional differences) with the latest patches. Has anyone any information on whether this is true or false?
I would be most grateful if anyone can advise on these 3 questions and also if anyone has knowledge of any other potential pitfalls (if any) operating this UAE version of the S9+ in the UK. Extensive searching reveals nothing.
I look forward gratefully to any replies.
Kind regards and Thank you.
Peter

I bought the S9+ 256GB Dual SIM in Dubai. Thing is that you'll have to flash any Official ROM from your region that supports VoLTE/WiFi calling, because the ROM from UAE (XSG) has VoLTE and WiFi calling disabled by software.
I've tried everything and only flashing Indian (INS) ROM solved it (I live in Argentina and here Samsung sells Snapdragon version, instead of Exynos one).
My case flashing INS Official ROM didn't trip Knox, and flashing official ROMs without any customization shouldn't trip it. But have in mind it can happen (read a couple of people had that). So do it at your own risk and only flash it with ODIN.
I think you'll have to flash BTU ROM in order to have your region stuff (VoLTE, WiFi calling, Samsung Pay)
Oh, about updates don't worry, unless you root your phone ot flash any custom ROM, you'll continue getting updates for your phone via OTA.

Hi

Hi Peter,
You're in luck since the UAE S9+ is NOT region locked, which means as soon as you insert a British SIM card, the device will prompt you to reset it, which will change the devices CSC (Carrier Specific Customization) to UK Unlocked, once the phone restarts and you set it up, it will function as if it was an S9+ bought directly from Samsung UK.
Question 1) The S9+ sure does support both VoLTE and WiFi calling, as long as you activate the phone with a British SIM card, and then do a factory reset right after, you'll get WiFi calling.
Question 2 and 3) Yes, they are technically different. Since the UK and UAE have a slightly different update schedule, you will have to manually flash your device to the latest UK firmware to continue getting software updates as they are released for the UK.
After converting your devices CSC to UK as I mentioned in the answer to your first question, you'll have to flash this UK firmware:
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603871251
The tutorial for which can be found in my thread here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...ficial-stock-firmware-thread-samsung-t3764479
Let me know if you didn't understand any part of my post, and I'd be happy to clarify anything.

Thank you very much for the comprehensive reply. You have covered all my questions that has made me review my thinking.
I was not specifically wanting a dual SIM card option phone, it was just that the larger storage of 256gb for the S9 Plus from UAE came with that option and was a reasonable price.
Going through all the hoops is not appropriate for myself and my wife when a single SIM phone will do nicely and fits our needs, so I have decided not to go forward with getting one from UAE, but get a 64gb European version one (G965FZKADBT) that is sold by Debenhams UK and fit it with a Samsung Mobile UK 128 GB 100 MB/s Class 10 U3 Memory Evo Plus MicroSD card, or even a 256gb card.
Taking this route is only £20 more per phone. Hardly worth worrying about, given that I get the full support from Samsung UK where it is sourced from. Samsung do not make a 64gb version for the UK market, only a 128gb version. They know that anyone in the whole of the EU can source that smaller 64gb size (with the german code ADBT) from the EU and fit with the appropriate size memory card. I spoke to debenhams who spoke to Samsung to confirm.
As a matter of interest the prices for the S9+ are as follows:
From UAE are £569 (128gb) and £599 (256gb). (no Samsung support) (I can sell my phone on ebay for £140)
From Samsung with UK firmware £769 (128gb) Can get £150 cash back for S7 phone = £619). (with UK support).
From Debenhams UK with EU software (identical software as UK) it is £599 (64gb). I can fit this with a 128gb card at £20 (totals £619) or £41 for a 256gb card (total £640). Also I can get £140 for my S7s.
Do you have any comments on this? How about micro SD cards for 4k recording or 1080p?
Thanks again.

Go with whatever route is cheapest for you, since all the phones are the same.
I went with the 64 GB S9+ and I've got a 64 GB SDCard in it. Plenty of storage for me and I'm not even close to occupying all of it.
I'm not sure if Samsung allows 4K recording to SDCards, however 1080p should be fine. You can record 4K to internal storage and then shift to SDCard after you're done.

Thanks!
1. When you say this, are you saying the path/route is fixed by internal coding or is it down to the detection of the type of memory or the flash memory speed?
2. Once shifted to a microsd card, presumably it play it from there?
3. I have experience of a microSD UHS memory card, because I purchased a larger one( to V30 standard) from DELKIN to use on my Dashcam because I saw errors with a lower standard card.
4. On the subject of memory types, do you have any recommendations for memory types/standards? I would be after the fastest. I do understand the differences and classes?
Kind regards and thanks again.

1) I believe fixed by internal coding. Don't think the phone can detect the type of SDCard inserted, although I could be wrong.
2) Yes.
4) Not that I know of. Most newer class 10 and UHS-1 cards should work fine. To rule out any compatibility issues, grab yourself a Samsung EVO SDcard and use that.

You are buying it too expensive. Look around, s9 should not be more than 500 gbp and s9+ 579.

Not really. I am not interested in the S9 and I have misquoted for th S9+. It should read, £589 from 3 separate vendors. I consider within £10 is OK when I can pick up the phone and ask relevant question. Anyway at no time was I was asking forum members where I could get it cheaper.
Thank you very much for your interest in my financial circumstances.
Have a nice day.

Do you mean to say that the Indian ROM fixes VoLTE with an Argentine SIM card? Very interesting!

Forgive me, what has this got to do with my original question? Gone off topic I would say.
