O2 XDA FILE TRANSFER - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

Can anyone advise how an image or hand drawn images can be transferred to a pc and in which format is it transferred.

You can save it as a bitmap of jpeg file which can be read by the image viewer if you transfer it using the activesync. These are resized to the screen size, so if you want to view it full size or as a different file type you will need to get a some imaging software. Check out http://www.PocketGear.com if you need some.

Tim

Thanks Tim

Opps - I would probably help if I actually read your post.
Well the principle is the same getting the file to your pc. Therefore you won't need software for the pocketpc - your pc probably arleady has some software.

Country ID Error

I have the T-Mobile ROM 1.60 currently installed on my I-Mate. Now I am trying to install the latest I-Mate update, I keep getting Country ID Error 120. Anyone know a solution? It seems we need some kind of AdaptROM...
The same for me yesterday ERROR 120, I try anyway but no results
I think that new ROM only for I- mate Device with special IMEI Number
Any ideas? :?:
I upgrade to i-mate update and I try to upgrade to T-Mobile I get the same error!!
anyone can help?
try to hard way...
unzip the ruu15283wwe_cdl.exe file,
you'll find there the *.nbf files.
Use the files to flash with SD card.
I'm not sure if this also works with the XDA II, but try XDATools:

It seems not possible by writing just writing the nbf to SD card and flash to the XDA 2 anymore.
Because the bootloader will check the first 412 bytes (i believe it is the code on the last line of the 412 bytes, somthing like HTCSA00400000XXXXXXXX.............) of the rom on the SD card match with your machine or not. Therefore without any modification, only the ROM dump from the Machine itself can be flashed.
Moreover, nbf is encoded, you can't just edit it by HEX editor, you have to get the rom in nb1 format.
I think XDA developers have to develop new tools to
1. Get the first 412 byte of the rom from your machine in an easier way. Now we have to use Multiport / USB TTY get into bootloader console, dump the rom to SD card , and use ntrw read the SD Raw data to the computer to get this 412 byte. You need a HEX Editor to do so. (Please correct me if I said something wrong).
We can
a) develop an APP to get the 412bytes from SD to harddisk without using a HEX editor
b) directly read this 412 bytes from the XDA2 if possible.
2. A Rom tools that can add your machine's own first 412bytes (or the code) , combine it with a .nb1 or .nbf and write it to a SD card.
By the way , I think a new adoptrom support XDA2 will be the best solution 8)
note added by itsme: this will very likely break your devie!! - better look at sdtool
same problem
i'm having the same problem, installed imate update, now i cant install the t-mobile update.
nobody seems to know how to fix this
HEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLPPPPPP
try this
Hi,
another idea...
try to unzip (using winrar i.e.) the file ruu15283wwe_cdl.exe,
and run the HimaUpgradeUt.exe
It might work!
I got error, the device is not connected, or something like that, while trying to use the original file, but with the HimaUpgradeUt it works!

today screen question

where do i put my picture so that i can have them as the back ground on my today screen,
if i use the pictures out of "my picures" and use the browse setting in the today section, the picture is misty,
but if i select the default settings they are perfectly clear,
so!!!!
can i put my pictures where these are kept (spiral, and windows default etc) then they should be clear too!! "YES"?
the "backgrounds" you are talking about are not really just pictures but themes
the files are called .tsk
the reason your background are not that good quality is most likely that they are in the wrong size and have to be autoresized by the device if you resize them to the right res then i'm sure they too will be fine
thanks for that info, but i have tried that and its still not as clearas the "skin"
any other idea's can i change the picture in the skin some how??
where do i find.tsk then??
where the tsk files are located i'm not sure a good place to look is in windows\
you can make your own themes / tsk files using a theme maker for pocketpc
http://www.pdatoday.com/more/917_0_1_0_M/
the .TSK files can be anywhere on your device and the today part will pick them up.
even if they are on an SD card.
what you need is the theme generator to create them. I'm using one that i had when i had the XDA device
just will not update the XDAII so i have to save to HDD first then copy across manually.
works a treat for me.
try some of these...
urrr? lol
ok thanks!! whats HDD, and copy across manually, how do i that,
where do i get a theme generator from?
(i am using an xda11
http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/extthemegen/?en

HDD is harddisk often called c: in ones computer
you get the file to your device by
1 copying it to pocketpc documents in your my documents dir and then sync with activesync
2 connect with activesync and press the button called explore device
i thought it was gonna be a little more technical than that lol,
now, i have d loaded from them links, but when i run them i get an error,
do ineed to put them on the xda then run from there?
God this man needs serious help! Isn't this one of the most simplest things to do? go to microsoft.com and install the theme generator from the mobile section when u have used it save the them nut DO NOT send it to device instead copy and paste it from where u saved it into your devices windows directory or my documents its fairly simple
well i must need help then mate, or is it your instructions to a novice, as
i have tried to figure out what to do with the info you have provided, and still not working,
i have download the theme generator from this site http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/extthemegen/?en
what i cant understand is where to put them exactly as i have tried to do what you lot have said and it i get error messages!!
if its not to much bother for you please list exaclty what i need to do as i have tried and it dont work!!
(whats this mean, please "save the them nut DO NOT" etc etc")

That was a mistake I dunno where the NUT came from! that SPB thing you downloaded will not install without microsfts theme generator! get it here : http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/downloads/themegenerator.mspx Now once you have installed and made your 'Theme' Using the simple instructions then at the very last part it gives you a chance to save your theme - If you select 'Send to device' checkbox it will not because I presume your running windows mobile 2003 so save the file on your Hardrive - Lets say your desktop! Now once thats done copy and paste your theme thats on your desktop and place it in your 'Mobile My documents' Directory which should also be on your desktop now next time you sync your phone your theme will be sent to your phone and then you can use it from there! God I hope that helps :-(
EXCELLENT, THANKS, IT WORKS NOW

HTC homeplug weather problem

HI!
I've got a problem with updating weather conditions on HTC homeplug.
I live in Novo mesto in Slovenia, so i added <city name="Novo mesto, SI" locationcode="EUR|SI|SI000|NOVO MESTO"/> at HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml.
when i want to update it says: "Unable to retrive data for selected city. Select here to retry." But when i go on www.accuweather.com and i search for novo mesto it shows weather conditions.
So...why the weather data is shown on accuweather.com but on my device its not working? I've got working internet connection on my M600.

Same pb, a lot of questions and no answeres
The main problem is that the HTC home plugin gets data from htc.accuweather.com and not www.accuweather.com.
I'm from Évora, Portugal and I also have that problem. I use the forecast extension with firefox and it's ok, when I added my city to the xml file and got that problem I searched the forum and found that was the problem.
Waiting for a fix ou a patch.. :\
If you check the last version of accuweather included in HTC home change the string "locationcode" for "location=" you must put the same string.Edit the original included and write exactly the string it works perfect even for me living in a small city.

How did you do that? It is write-protected file that can't be deleted or modified. There must be a way to modify even system files, so can anyone show us the way?
Total Commander works for me, it has a nice notepad app. Just edit the file.

Total Commander doesn't work at all. First, it can't change the attribute from Read Only to non-Read Only. Secondly, the notepad can only support files up to 64K and so it cannot even open the file, as it's much larger.
Have you actually done this? Can you give a step by step? Perhaps it depends on the ROM.
EDIT: The only app that can do this is Resco Explorer.
Limited cities supported by htc.accuweather.com

I have done something similar with Total Commander 2.5 beta, which CAN change file attributes (can't remember if previous versions could). I have removed the read only attribute, then copied the HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml file to my PC, edited it there and put it back to the Prophet. Now the new cities DO appear on the list, but still the plugin WILL NOT retrieve the weather info.
This is because the plugin queries htc.accuweather.com (and not www.accuweather.com), which does not support all cities. To test if your location is supported, browse to the website with internet explorer ON THE PROPHET (I repeat, use the browser on the prophet, not a PC) and test if your city is included. I suspect that only the cities in the original xml files are supported.
Also, check this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319187&highlight=Pocket+Hosts
If you try it, I would recommend using the manual method since I don't know if the CAB will also work on the prophet.
Personally, I have not tried it yet. If you do, please report.

Update ROM to required version Setup Error
I am using PDAViet Transformer 1.0.
When I install the cab, it gives a Setup Error: Unable to install application. Please update your device ROM to the required version before trying again.
Does this mean that Info Feed is tied to the Dopod Roms?
Thanks,
Alex
I did see that it checks for which device it installs to. But that can be circumvented if someone Extracts the cab and makes a new installer for it.
Sorry but it's not on my to do list.
I hope you can forgive me for that.
But you can read my "Extracting a Cab Tutorial the manual way"
Or look for that magic cab maker i'm also after that makes Cab files out of OEM packages. It's mostly text in the end that needs editing.
problem placing cache on storage card
When I set Info Feed to store its data on my storage card, then attempt to manually Update any channel, I get an error message, "Not enough storage is available to complete this operation." As long as it's set to use memory, there's no problem.
Current size of Info Feed's data = 3MB
Free program memory = 66MB
Free storage memory = 97MB
Free storage card space = 2.5GB
Obviously it's not a space limitation, per se. Cache/reg value?
Anyone know what's causing this?
@mtn_lion
I encountered the same storage problem after switching to a new 4 GB SDHC card. Info Feed worked fine on all of my other memory cards but I couldn't get it working on the new card.
I found out that there is a strange bug that causes Info Feed to display the "Not enough storage is available to complete this operation" message when there is a lot of free space available on the memory card. After copying some large files to the card Info Feed was working fine again. (At the moment I have a little more than 2GB of free space available.)
It is a stupid workaround but give it a try! It worked for me...
@HipNosis
Thanks for working that out! I'm very pleased to have an answer to the mystery. I'm not gonna waste space on my 8GB card by copying "placeholder" files, but your discovery will make me hurry up and copy more of my music to the card. Do we think that the 2GB threshold is significant?
BTW, I have a line open to support at InfoFeed's maker, Jeyo, about this issue and will share your info with them.
G'day!

link to file on Android from Excel

Hi all!
I am very curious if anyone here can give me a push in the right direction...
Let me start by saying that i have made an excel sheet in windows for the purpose of administring my mail. I scan my mail and name it in de sheet accordingly. F.e.: filename 2018-02-015.jpg is in excel as follows:
column A: 2018-02-015. Column B "jpg". In that way i can numer the files continuesly, but can select different filetypes (f.e.: pfd, msg, docx etc...) along the way. Now....
I use a formula to calculate the complete filepath so i can click in the cel to open the file. In windows this looks als follows:
=HYPERLINK(TEKST.SAMENVOEGEN("C:\Data\CloudStation\Post\gescande stukken\Inkomend\2018";A5;".";B5); "doc")
I use a duch version of excel... sorry... "tekst.samenvoegen" is probably "concatenate". Now... if the file i link to exists in the location mentioned in the formula, windows opens it flawless.
You might have noticed the term cloudstation in the path. That's because my goal is to sync with my mobile. That's the part that works already. But since i do not have the same paths on my Phone as i have in windows. I had to create another comlumn for the sake of opening files on android. At the moment i can open the sheet on android, look up the line i need and then navigate manually through the filesystem to open it. But it would be really neat if i could (just like in windows) click on the file in excel en open it that way.
What i tried is the following:
=HYPERLINK(TEKST.SAMENVOEGEN("/storage/0123-4567/Android/data/com.synology.dscloud/files/Data/Post/gescande stukken/Inkomend/2018/";A5;".";B5); "and")
since the name of the SD card seems to be 0123-4567 and the files i want to call upon also exsist in the target dir. i think it should work. But since i'm more of a windows man i'm afraid i'm overlooking something.... Android tells me that the link is not valid or i'm not authorized tot open it...
Who can halp me along? Thanks in advance!
kind regards,
some dutch guy
