PPC2003 and autoconfiguration - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

I have installed PPC2003 and the autoconfiguration doesnt work. i recall i read in some forum that if i want to Remove the dashes in the phone numbers i should edit a registry entry but i can't find it back can anyone help please?

Your only hope is that someone using a non-US ROM can look up this key for you and post how to create it on your device using a registry edit tool.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone]
"CountryCode"=dword:00000000
Or since haven't gotten a replied to your post (I like to seek out the 0's as a fun evening challenge :wink: ) you could flash your ROM to SER1.1 find this key write down it's parameters, re-flash your ROM back to 2003 and create this reg edit :roll: This first is a much nicer experience and there are so many helpful people here you should have no problem having someone come to your rescue

autoconfiguration
Hi,
do you have the O2 autoconfiguration software? I am looking desperately for it.
Since I upgraded to PPC2003, I can't find it anymore.
Thanks
Daniele

Missing stuff in the italian 1.72 rom

Hi
I just installed my 1.72 Italian Rom and i see that there is a lot of stuff missing (videoMMS, the ClearView applications and much more...)
I would like to go back to the english rom but the phone now gives me the typical "Language ID" problem and, as i am not a genius with this things, i would like to know
1) is it possible to install just the missing applications, and if yes, can you redirectme on where to download .cab files for them ?
2) Is there an easier way to get rid of the Language problem ?
Thank you guys
Barabba
Could you tell me which English ROM you want to go to?
Is it a language problem or a country code problem.
If you have the other upgrades where you want the cabs from, you can extract them with ER2003Edit.
- I think DCS's solution http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/HimalayaRomFlashing has helped most people with country codes.
- Haven't tried but according to the author of ER2003Edit, you can change the operator of the upgrade with ER2003Edit to the one you have now on your xdaII and it shouldn't give country code errors anymore.
- There is a HIMAUpgradeUT.exe around which doesn't verify the country code, but I haven't tried it. and it doesn't always work, or gives you problems with your next update. I don't know much of this, but i thought i should mention it.
Maybe read http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/HimalayaRomkitchen about composing your own upgrade out of several upgrades.
Also O2UK has a kind of test in the setups of extra progs, to test if it's really an O2 1.72 . Again I don't know much about this but i thought i should mention it. Edsub is/was trying to get around this.
thank you for your help,
i solved the problem, for the moment, downloading the
Extended_ROM_1[1].72.184GER_One_AT.zip
from another post in this forum.. it was holding the cab files for the missing applications...
Damn... i really don't like this Italian Version (i am used to the english texts.... and the translation is poor)...

Can't downgrade from wm2005

Hi,
I recently put on Buzz's latest wm2005, when I installed it I didnt need to change the operator id or anything like that.
Some of my applications are not working on 2005 and I would like to revert back to 2003se but Im having some difficulties.
Everytime I do the downgrade I am getting country id errors and when I try and figure out my operator id using the device info application the output file is just jibberish..
Can anyone tell me what the operator id would have been set to when I installed buzz's wm2005 or how I can find out what the operator id is on wm2005.
I really need to downgrade!
Thanks,
Dave
Go to this link and look for BUZZ LIGHTYEAR. The file and instructions are there that make country id error a thing of the past, it works flawlessly.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/vie...0&postorder=asc&highlight=country+id&start=25
use the "himaupgradeut_noID.exe" instead "HimaUpgradeUt.exe"
jojo
download it here:
http://buzzdev.net/index.php?option=com_docman&task=cat_view&gid=65&Itemid=32
hello cruisin-thru my friend...
do as xda2jojo said :wink: ...but if u still want to know the BUZZMOBILE infos then:
device idH10
operator:O2
laguage:WWE
Thanks for your help, I have successfully downgraded.
Hey JoJo, peace.
I need this himaupgradeut_noID.exe, too but I can't find anywhere an active link :-( help please...

How To Create A Settings Cab File??

Hi. I Would Just like To Know How To Create A Cab File That Had All The Settings I Used On My Phone.
I Just Upgraded The Firmware On My TyTN To The AT&T AKU 3.3 Rom And Being From The UK This Ment I Had A Lot Of Information To Change In Order To Get My GPRS,WAP,MMS,E-Mails And Keyboard Layout To Work Again. It Would Have Been Really Handy If I Had Had A Cab File Wich Would Have Added All That Data For Me.
So I Was Just Wondering If Anyone Knew How To Do That.
Cheers
Sorry, Couldn't Help But To Post This, But Maybe You Also Need To Change The Setting That Automatically Capitalises The First Letter Of Every Word.
Just kidding with ya . You might have better luck in the Hermes forum, rather than the Hermes Upgrading forum.
You may try to use a software called ''WinCE.CAB.Manager''

Easy way is to find the Ext_ROM from a shipped ROM from Orange UK and run the extrom cabs to get the MMS/SMS and GPRS settings etc...

Modify NetWizard from PDAViet ROMs?

Hi Guys
Can anyone explain me or give me a link where it's described how I can add new countrys and providers to this little nice app?
I want to add all german providers (O2, T-Mobile, Vodafone, ePlus) an integrade it in my ROM!
True :->
OK have you decompress the CAB? You see in it a netwizard.dll (i think so ... i am not sure about the file name hehehe ) in it are the settings. its a visual studio created file but i cant decompile it :-> i have the same idear befor hehehe
i have talk with some guys from pdamobiz board and no on know how to config. this cab is extracted from a dopod ext rom.
Anyone have solutions for Vodafone Italia?
Any solutions to Portugal (Vodafone) ? Thanks in advance !
No, there no solutions for your provider!
The first thing is to find out how the provider settings can be changed with NetWizard!
Only the guy he have write this programm can Edit it. Without sourcecode it is very hard! Forget netwizard ... search a other programm.

These 2 posts should help you.
This post gives links to needed tools and a "how to" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2770938&postcount=1
This post has a link to the HTC Dutch ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2763806&postcount=1
Worked for me, if you search you can also find a link to a T-Mobile Dutch ROM in case you need to revert back for warranty purposes.
Hope this helps.

A little tip.
When you have flashed the new ROM the keyboard WnW (web n walk) key will open Internet Explorer.
If you want to use the BrandedBrowser (with the "wilt u online gaan" message) you need to go to the PPC windows directory and copy these files to your PC before flashing:
BrandedBrowser.exe
web'n'walk short cut
wnw short cut
wnw icon
When you have flashed the new Rom copy the files back to your PPC. ADDITIONALLY you will need a registry editor to create 2 new keys:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\PIEPlug]
"WebStub"=dword:00000000
"home"=http://pda.t-mobile.nl"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\PIEBrowser]
"Path"="\Windows\BrandedBrowser.exe"
Hope this helps.
Regards,
khan3.
Feeling generous, heres the reg files you need.
Better still, here's a cab file with the files and registry entries.
