Can you give me a link where i can find this tombraider, i am a fanatic.

i found the link on google searching for tombraider pda
http://www.tombraidertogo.com
hope it's the right one

Just discovered the lack of buttons, I am going to try the different key controls A B C, have you tried those yet? I was hoping the save/pause button is remapped. Will let you know.

All keys are available
use the contacts and calender buttons and the rec button for the above mentioned functions.
The game is almost a direct port - with the exception of no multiple key presses - so you cant make Lara do that handstand climb manouever.
I am glad that I never played the game originally on the playstation - so I am slowly trying to complete it for the first time.
4 months in and I am only up to level 5!!!!!
Jayman

I remember I installed the game, but I had to take it out, because the only way that I could quit the game was resetting the machine, how do you quit?

Jayman are you using a xda?
I cannot access the menu or quit too.

Nope neither can I, how do you map those buttons to save/pause etc, as the man said, the only way out is a soft reset.

Right:::
I use control config A.
Flip screen left and toggle off both running and walking.
Within the game, all soft buttons(ie those on screen) should work as advertised.
D pad -directs Lara
calender - gets out current weapon.
contacts - fires or actions.
record/volume button - accesses menu.
In the menu u can go up and down 3 levels
Inventory - here are your weapons medipaks compass, press the soft select to use a medipak (Lara will groan) or to change weapon.
Above that is Items where you keep anything you have found.
The bottom screen is the options where if you select 'game' you have the option to load or save a game. You can also exit to the title screen.
Then from the title screen you use the same option to exit back to TODAY.
I have also found that if i press one of the phone buttons - it exits imediately without the need for a soft or hard reset and when you restart the game providing you have not hard or soft reset, you are exactly where you left the game.
Hope this all makes sense and is of help to you. If this does not work for you it may be the OS you are running or some software that is providing a conflict. This all worked on original OS and SE1.2 but I have not upgraded to WM2003 yet. If you have any other software that has the rec/volume button mapped - this may be the conflict to prevent you getting to the menus.
Good luck and Good Raiding.
Jayman.
(PS - I never enjoyed single player games on console or PC - always prefered to beat someone in the room - but it is great on a mobile platform when caught out with time to kill - yet would not carry a handheld - so this game is a godsend hence earlier post - MORE PLEASE)

Thanks Jayman.
The copy I am testing is probably a demo

guys a bit tarded :|

Not quite accurate.
I haven't tried the Volume button on Tomb Raider specifically, but there are plenty of games that allows you to use the volume button.
Between the ones I can remember are:
Motocross Stunt Racing, Morphgear emulator, Darxide EMP, etc.

i got the full version of tombraider and i could never get the medipk and options up to exit i had to soft reset :\ even when i remaped buttons it dont work for volume :|

Well pressing volume or any of the phone buttons does nothing.

Jayman, are you using an XDA, the phone buttons on mine do zilch, I cannot quit or get a menu once I have started a game.

Yeah I am using the XDA.
I did nothing special when I loaded it on so I can not see how yours would be different - unless you have mapped the buttons in another application that could be affecting it?
Try reinstalling and make sure all apps are closed right down before booting. Also - shouldn't make a difference - but i usually turn the phone off before playing games.
Jayman.

I have spent ages with this, without success, there is no menu at the foot of the screen, just have left/right arrows bottom right, and the movement icons, the volume key does nothing, neither of the phone keys red/green does anything.

i told you it didnt work but no one listened :| only way to exit is soft reset
gaz

i wonder why... i have an emulator, that emulates an old computer of mine, (colecovision ADAM), and IT allows me to map all 5 buttons to play the ADAM roms. hmmm
im sure its just a programing glitch.
i installed the game, great graphics.. but its too sufisticated for me
i like arcade cames, like TURJAH II, SIBERIAN STRIKE X and such.

TG01 & MSVC - Button Mapping

Hi Everyone
Sorry if this has been asked before (can't find on searches)
Orange have just replaced my broken HD with a TG01 and I am trying to get MSVC 1.6 installed. Trouble is I can't find any way to remap a hardware button
Any help will be appreciated
Regards
CD (UK)
I know the registry to map the camera key but after reset the changed reg value resets back to default . If you're interested in experimenting further in that i can tell you, other than that i don't know how to map other keys, sorry.
Hi Chromedome, I have tried MSVC but it does not activate when I press the talk button on my BT headset.
Does MSVC work on your TG01 via BT headset?

I really have mixed feelings about this TG01: Nice big screen but find it 'tinny' and unstable. Have to re-boot to un-freeze it often. Poor call quality.
Has the potential to be a really good phone

Maybe a prg called AE Button plus is what you need..I don´t use it myself so can´t tell much
AE Button Plus
This is single-handedly the greatest program I have on my TG01, common .... think about it ... what is the one problem that we all have with out TG01's? ... well.. how about this.. it only has 6 buttons, and all of them are very necessary. Can you remap your power button? Well the power button is kinda important.. isn't it? How about the volume up and down button? No... those are kinda important too.. ahhh how about the camera button.. I don't need a friekin' camera anyways(being sarcastic here).. the thing is is that we can't remap anything... unless you install AE Button Plus.
but....... You can remap each key (haven't tried the power button ehheeh) including the softkeys "home" and the button that looks like "<-", here is the nifty thing, you can remap them to respond to 1, 2, or 3 clicks, or long press, so each button can now have at least 2-3 items mapped to them. You can setup an audio record and audio stop button with Resco Audio Recorder all mapped to your camera key and still have your camera key work as normal, so essential your camera key has 4 keys mapped to it. If you hold it down for a long press then it will bring up the camera, then a short press will take a photo, if you press it two times then it will start recording in Resco Audio Recorder, and if you hit it three times then it will stop. This is how I setup mine. I also mapped the "<-" softkey button so that a double click will bring up the SPB Mobile Shell Task Manager. I mean, it is the greatest thing ever. Also, I bought it yesterday through handago for only 5.99 dollars cuz I have a 25% off coupon. Then when you buy it, the annoying 5 start-up splash screen doesn't appear at boot time from your device. Here is the info.
http://ae.inc.ru/aebplus.php - developers website, after you buy the item then you want to go back here and download the latest version v2.6.6.2, also, you have to activate it through the website using the registration code that you received from Handango.
http://www.handango.com/catalog/Pro...&deviceId=2180&platformId=30&productId=182670 - Buy the item here, you can get 25 percent off of the purchase price by using the coupon "GAMES25", I know it is not a game, but it worked for me ehheehhe. The version that is downloaded from Handango is version v2.6.5. I have been using the "GAMES25" coupon for about 6 months now eheheh, I think they forgot to expire this coupon ehehhe.
Seriously pplz, try the trial, this is the best 5 bucks I have ever spent on software, is the absolute proverbial icing on cake, such a nice finishing touch to my TG01. All in all, this program adds more than 20 new buttons to our devices. Seriously, also I just thought of something you know how you added the little joystick functionality to your usb port (http://www.fpsece.net/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=423&start=0), now you can program those joystick buttons to do additional things too heheh, this program for me has truly completed my phone.
Now if someone can help me with my non-mounting SD card problem I would much appreciate that!!! hehehehee.... hope this helps someone.
-Kili.
PS: When mapping the softkeys, for some reason you have to go from right to left, so map the "<-" key first, then the zoom bar then the home key or something like that, but there is an order to it, just a weird quark and also, there are issues, in particular the newest versions of TouchFlo3D that block some buttons so AE Button Plus is unable to intercept and process them. One definitely needs to test AE Button Plus and see if it will work as you before purchasing. EHHEEHH This is my disclaimer section!

Don't give up on it yet. Many including myself thought that way at first, but when ppl started cooking new roms things got much better. Now i can boldly say that i dont regret buying this phone, especially at such a bargain price. Try the 6.1 rom from here (ffboy must get all the credit for it), read about how to flash a new rom here (SDDL+ Method) and in a few minutes you will have a totaly new phone!! Sound is very very clear (no more comlaints about not being heard etc.), no gps connection problem, free boot ram higher than ever and battery life at it's best.
Good luck! Phone is great, give it another chance!

Absolutely agree!
I've been using this program for ages. It's a pity that TG01 has so few hardware buttons:
Anyway: My settings:
volume up for:
1 Single press: Press PageDn (very useful reading)
2 Double press: Ok/Close
3 Triple press: Switch Display Off/On
Volume down for
1 Single press: Resco Audio Recorder -rec (This device don't have REC button.....)
2 Double press: Resco Audio Recorder -exit
3 Triple press: Switch Display Off/On
I'm also using the useless zoom bar to change apps (Like ALT+TAB)
How to?:
Tap Left softkey: File
Add button
Add Key (Touch the zoom bar: The program detects Key code 405C as Win Key)
Tap Add Key
You'll have a new button called Button #405C
Tap & Hold over the new line (Button #405C) and assign Alt+Tab to it
The program ask to self reset, say Yes and .... here you are!
Enjoy!
Thank you Thank you Thank you

Button Swapping

Is there anyway, with an existing app - or a tweak on an xml file etc that I can change the up and down volume buttons when the phone is in landscape?
On the stock rom - when you are in landcape - pressing "left" to increase volume is so utterly counter intuitive it drives me insane!

i have no time to search the buttons assignments, in fact it should be easy to do, if you get me how to asign buttons, i could do a script for you..
There is a button re-mapper. See if it helps you.

Yeah it's easy enough to change the key mappings in the /system/usr/keylayout/*.kl files - the problem is that it doesn't affect the phone until a reboot.
It's also an issue of hooking into "something" so that when the phone rotates it swaps the commands over. I believe CM does this (as well as for any D-pad swapping on rotation) by hijacking the input queue in the file KeyInputQueue.java
However as I'm on a stock ROM and can't really edit this, I'm guessing it's not really possible.
So... I've just permanently swapped the buttons over for the time being. I never use volume controls unless I'm watching vids and at that point I'll always be in landscape - so I'll take the annoyance on the portrait mode instead!

Yeah - got to the same point at me now
Woo and indeed Hoo!
Managed to work out what's going on, and after a bit of smali editing - it's all working.
Essentially, the DPAD rotation stuff is already in there, but since the device doesn't have the DPAD it's a bit useless. However it's possible to fool the device into thinking it's got a DPAD and using the existing rotate routine, and instead of remapping DPAD directions remap the VOLUME_UP and VOLUME_DOWN keys.
Seems to work perfectly!
I will tidy up the code (lots of debug hooks in at the moment!) and write a HowTo - but since it's hacking the internals of services.jar - my version would blat over the top of any custom theme.
any news about this?

Scrolling in browser fields

I am afraid I already know the answer to this but hopefully there is a way. I was doing some stuff on the web and one of the pages was a registration form. The field for state was a dropdown box. The list item I needed was at the bottom so I needed to scroll down the list but there was no way to do so. Is there a way to do this?
Have u tried the dpad on the keyboard? Just a thought idk if that works just haven't run into that issue yet
I can't get the keyboard to come up. Once I leave the field for City, the keyboard goes away.

Long press on the menu button always brings the keyboard back...
.
On all Android devices, there are long press shortcuts and key-combination shortcuts.
There are the actual Android shortcuts, and some vendors such as Archos install their own.
I have never found any vendor that gives a full description of their devices shortcuts so I always either search Google (in the case of key-combination shortcuts) for any, other users have found, and long press every button on my device (front and keyboard in all applications...) to find out whats there.
Still working on this new device but seems to be limited to basic Android at mo.
I tried the long press. Maybe it is that web page's design. I have found that long pressing only lets you get to the keyboard in apps that require some kind of typing input. When I long press on that field, the keyboard never comes up.

Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty

Works great on the NC (CM7)! Just be sure to hide the menu buttons when they show up.
Available in Android Market for $0.99 for a limited time.
Not available for me. What's up?
Did you do a special build.prop edit to allow it to be shown?
Nope didn't do anything special. I had to specifically do a search for "Captain America Sentinel of Liberty" in the market to find it though.
I'm running CM RC1 if that helps.
EDIT: Interesting, I just checked market.android.com from my PC and it says that its not compatible with the Nook. But when I did the search using the market app on the Nook, it found it and I was able to purchase, install, and play it.
If you got the new crappy Google Market, you can't get it.
I can find it in the market but can't download it. Sucks you can't get the Gmarket not to update, mine came through OTA.
Does anyone know if you kill / delete Market Updater.apk, does it jack up your system and G Market?
Yes.
I'd wiped my data/cache as well with the last NB and had the 6/13 gapps. Low and behold, after acknowledging the license it started the new market.
Looks like we need to start sending email to the app devs to please consider android tablet users that don't necessarily have GPS. Location services are still possible by Wi-Fi (although not as accurate), but should be sufficient for the dev's needs.
Google maps works for me with fairly close accuracy as the various phones have been updating their hotspot maps over time.

Did you perhaps alter your device ID in build.prop to get Netflix or Hulu working?
Update: just had no issues buying it over the old market with device IDed as Nook Color.
Update 2: Weeeeelll... the app is playable (and decent) once you get through the menus, but touch input isn't properly mapped to the menus, so you're pretty much tapping around the screen by trial and error to figure out how to move along. To top it off, none of the softkeys work except "home"--back and menu are useless. If you can manage to get into the game, it plays fine.

The problem with most games is, yes you have the status bar on your homescreen, but there's no way to get it back in-game without force closing via App Manager and starting over. Some games rely on the back button and/or menu button to navigate, especially to change any settings or really exit the app.

A lot of games (and some other apps) are built assuming you have a Menu and Back button, and don't have anything on-screen to access menu functions, or to get back to the main menu if you're on a setting screen and have hidden the status bar.
ETA: you know what, not only is there a solution to this issue, but I discovered, implemented, and promptly forgot that solution months ago. In the CyanogenMod>Tablet Tweaks settings, you can set any of the hardware buttons to also unhide the status bar. I had already assigned Vol+

[Q] Switching between 4 apps in the car and other environments

What is the fastest and easiest way way to switch between four apps in the car. For example Google Nav, Poweramp, Trapster, and a speedometer app. A wave of the hand would be nice. I have looked at several and used a few. Smart Task Switcher, a reviewer said “Was warned about this app due to access to contacts permissions which dev says is used in China for advertising”. AppSwipe only does two ( the last opened). The “car apps” say nothing about task switching or is it shown in the Youtube videos. It would be nicer if an app would isolate and load these four programs from one key push then allow fast switching. A snap of the fingers would be another way to switch between these four apps. Also, a slideshow type thing of these four apps with the option to stay on the current one showing might be an idea. Or, one app that puts to the front the needed app, like the media player about the first and last 5 seconds of a song, trapster like app that would popup during notifications, navigation about 10 seconds before and after turns, and the speedometer the rest of the time. I'm just thinking out loud. Holding down the home key is not a good fit. Bottom line is I need a better task switcher (not killer) for the auto. An app that would allow me to map a steering wheel button in my 2011 Ford Fusion SEL for task switching would be golden! A friend's suggestion was to get four phones, so that one is already out there.
I tried Car Dock Home v3. It works by using a launcher that uses the back key to return to it's home screen, then another task can be selected via a shortcut. Unfortunately it cancels Google Navigation when the back key is hit to go to CDHv3 home screen. This would have been a better solution as it takes two key presses. It would be the best solution to perform one action to cycle through the desired programs. I installed Smart Task Switcher and that was good in theory but I could not find how to configure correctly and the floating button is far too small and often requires several taps, and that is sitting at the desk. There is a paid version where some of this is supposedly settable but from my experience with this app I don't think this is a solution.
The car was the first place that came to mind. But the need to quickly and efficiently switch task is useful in several environments.
I have hit a dead end and any suggestions would be appreciated.

The S2 runs everything just fine, there is just not an efficient way to switch between them.
