Speaker Malfunction - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

Has anybody ever experienced the speaker on the phone failing to work?
Yesterday the speaker on my xda seemed to stop working. If I plugged inthe headset ten I could hear sound from this. I have resolved the problem by backing up and Hard resettting the xda and am now trying to restore the backup but am interested if anyone else has seen this or knows why the problem occured.
ROM 4.00.11 ENG
ROM Date 06/23/03
Radio 4.21.00

hi,
i´ve got this problem in two cases:
1st: when i try to mute the phone via speaker icon when in the same time i´ve got the speaker settings on the screen (look at the post concerning bell ditty... searching helps to find that post)
2nd: when i used a beta of meeting mute (because it seemed to change something in the registry). but with the actual official version of meeting mute i have no problems.

My XDA speaker stopped working for a while (very annoying if its the only phone you have), but worked fine when running the speaker test in boot mode.
In the end I found out it was the something to do with the headphone hole, as putting the headphone plug in and out a few times got the speaker working again .

HBH-65 headset and speaker problem on WM2003SE

HELP. Have successfully upgraded with SINS 2.02.t1WWE. everything is working great. One problem that has become apparent is when I get an incoming call and I press the headset button the speaker comes on as well. It is not as loud as the speakerphone function. I am sure I saw this problem in the forum over the last week but cannot find the solution.
Have found a temporary solution. I have installed Bluetooth Tools and all is well. Will keep trying to find out why it happened in the first place!!!

Occasionally speaker becomes silent after upgrading to WM6

First of all thanks all the people who made WM6 possible in Prophet.
I have tried a few ROMs, including Gullum VIII and right now ShadoW 2.0 ( My Edition ). Two are very good ROMs except that
Occasionally the speaker does not make any sound at all. No rings when calling in, nor in any application that is supposed to make noise.
Don't get me wrong, the speaker itself is actually working well. This muted problem goes away as soon as I make a soft-reset, the only problem, however, is I just don't know when it will become muted again.
I have never used a headphone so it's not about the phone jack issue. And because the problem can be corrected by a soft reset, it appears to be ROM related (which I have not had with Windows Mobile 5).
I am using Radio ROM 2.69, not sure if it caused the problem.
Please advise for any possible solutions. Thanks in avdance!
try all the possible solutions for sound not heard via speakers eg jack issue or paper trick to isolate it's not/is a speaker problem. had similar problems & it turned out my speakers were the problem, replacing it did the trick.

Is the same problem ?
Because i got this with any ROM WM6 WM6.1
Thanks for your reply. But no, it's not the hardware issue since all I needed was a soft reset to resolve the issue every time it pops up.
and yes it seems to match the symptoms described here:

I'm having the same problem. Sometimes this problem can be solved by just reselect your ring tone (Settings --> Sounds & Notifications --> Notifications Tab --> Phone : Incoming call --> reselect your ring tone and OK). If this method doesn't solve the problem you need to do a soft reset.
Hope this help.
I'm having too.
I notice this expecially when I select the keypad tones (short or long).
Now I leave it off and I'm not encountring this anymore...

Have you tried plugging the headphones into your PC...while plugged in play something like an MP3 and then hold the button near the microphone.
Can you hear out both headphones? Is it the headphones and mic themselves or the input on the phone?
Next thing would be to try another pair of regular headphones on the cell phone. Some will work fine, others might sound tinny.

[Q] Milestone 2 AOKP ROM on S3 SG3 Intl. Bluetooth bug

Hi all,
I looked everywhere but could not find a solution to a problem I've been having for a long time now.
I apologise if it's inappropriate to open a new thread but I cannot find any other solution.
I've been using AOKP milestone for some time on my I9300 (S3) device and am very happy with all the features and battery life etc.
I've been having one problem with the bluetooth and am unable to find out the solution or root cause of the problem.
Recently I have even tried a factory reset and flashed the milestone 2 latest rom but still am having the same issue,
Here are the details of the problem;
During a call using bluetooth handsfree car kit or earpiece it's not possible to resume / direct / transfer the call to the devices internal or external speaker.
Once I turn off the bluetooth due to arrival to destination and having to leave the car or battery dying in the earpiece I can hear the person on the other end for 3 seconds and then total silence but the other end can hear me clearly. Once I turn on the BT or external speakers on / off I can hear for 3 more seconds and so on,
What am I missing.
Please help.
did you find a solution to your issue.
I have the exact same, but running on CM10.2
Issue is when I am on a call with bluetooth I can't switch to speaker, or phone while in call. If I do so, they cannot hear me and I cannot hear them. If I switch back to bluetooth everything works again... Anyone else know a fix for this?
I cant find any solution for this? anybody know..
no solution yet
I looked all over and tried different roms and issue remains the same.
I used Omega based samsung and only then it worked fine but I do not like Sam. Based roms.
Please keep me posted if you solve this.
Also another problem I'm facing is, if capturing a video in a concert / club, video sound is very nosiy and un hearable, picture is ok though
Can you verify this too please?

[Q] S3 - I9300 speaker not working

I've had a very strange issue crop up yesterday. My external speaker (the one on the back of the phone) volume has suddenly become very very low, you have to hold it to your ear to hear anything. The headphones and all are working fine
OS: CM11 M8 - been using this for over a week now
Stuff I've tried
1. I don't think I installed any app or made any update that would make the speaker behave this way.
2. I've checked the volume panel and all are at full. I've tried using multiple music players/alarms etc to see if it works and the volume is extremely low in all of them.
3. I've tried rebooting the phone.
Please help
Edit: a couple of forums say that it might be due to the headphone jack not recognizing that headphones have been removed. Seems possible since my speaker is not crackling/buzzing and gives clear sound but at a very very low volume level. Any suggestions on how I can fix this?
Help ... tried cleaning the headphone jack, removing the battery and restarting the phone. Not willing to do a factory reset if it's a hardware fault
What do you suggest ?
Got it solved, and in a very strange way
Restored my orignal 4.0 rom with twrp image. That suddenly caused all my speakers to start working. Moved back to the CM image and everything still works fine
Weird but true, mods can you add solved to the title
