XDA 2 Battery - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

I had the XDA (1) and found the after market enhanced battery extremely useful. Does anyone have any idea if a longer life battery is in development for the XDA 2 as its current offering is somewhat frightening?

the backpack have a batt in it
and you can have many normal batts and change between them
since taking out the batt dont cause a hardreset

Have not heard of any extended battery in development but I live in hope that O2 does provide one.
I have a couple of spare batteries plus also use the BackPack for WiFi and presentations. The battery in the BackPack is only half the capacity of the normal battery but it does help.

2000mah battery

I've ordered the non oem "2000mah" battery from ebay... since im in south america it might take a while to reach here, anyone has it? please share your thoughts!
i also buy from ebay this battery, i'm waiting from 2 week, i hope arrived quickly
Same here... I've ordered my 2000ma battery from ebay and I'm still waiting the delivery...
In our italian forum there's already some persons with this battery and from the first information that I've read they've good result.
I'll perform some test once I'll have the new battery
Hi,
I have the 2000mah battery and are very happy with it, but have read some posts from other users that claims that there is no improvement over the original. Not sure exactly how much longer stand by time I get with this battery, but it is a significant improvement from the original battery
Ordered too on 16 January on ebay, but still no arrived..
Battery
It appears to have no more power/longevity over original battery.
To me, the way to stretch battery life is to use a task killer often.
Does anyone know of a charging stand that is available for the Liquid?
I have this battery. I need to test it better but it is worse than original.
I'm going to run a more scientific test today
On the Original Battery, charged to 100%
End All with Advanced Task Manager (cept for some excluded tasks)
Turn on wifi, BT, GPS, brightness on max, using 3G
Media server App on
Swiftp on
Sygic mobile maps turned on
After the phone dies, ill record the time
Then charge up the Extended battery and do the same
So far, cycling the new battery for about a week, it seems to be about the same in capacity as the original
Tests results in
the original lasted pretty much exactly 3.5 hours
the extended lasted 3.5hrs as well
testing charge times now
sigh
have u got the rest of the tests??
mine seems like never arriving!
So really the 200 battery makes no difference?
Dissapointed was thinking of getting one
The thing that seems to drain my battery is the WIFI and web stuff
There is a thing in setup to tell you what has been using the battery but I dont know how accurate it is??
Pete
ok, after a thorough testing, what do you think??
Anybody seen results because it is getting hard to use it with this current battery life

thanks!
I have sign a few posts on the battery from mugen that started that if you want a real change in life that you have to use the 3100mah battery. With out you will see almost 3x the battery life. I'm wanting to try it myself but kinda saving up pennies here and there to buy it.

Has anyone tried an extended battery yet?

Although NSFAN's ROM has extended my standby time to almost 3 days, I wanted to try and push for more "active" time when using the data a lot.
I know there are two different battery types, one with more cells crammed into the same size battery and another with an extended door. Has anyone tried either of these and what difference does it make?
Id like to know too
Id like to know to what extent these batteries will allow my phone to run. I am running on Vets beta 3 and it sucks life right out of my battery (not complaining because it is an awesome rom) but I have also considered getting an extended battery since I also try running XDAndroid which eats the battery for breakfast...
I have both a Seidio Extra Cell battery (normal size but 1800 mah) and a 3000 mah extended battery with extended door.
Let me start by saying I own about a dozen accessories made by Seidio for the Touch Pro and Touch Pro 2....and they are all great..... BUT I only see a 2-3 hour stand-by difference.
With the 3000 mah extended battery (which you should be able to find for ~$20 or so) adds a little more... about 5-6 hours...... BUT it gets really hot, and the battery % drops like a rock after about 60%.
The combination I suggest is getting the Seidio extra cell battery and use it with a battery saving program/reg. settings. Here is one I install after every new flash. (as far as I know it works with all WM Roms)
Hope this helps.
so... do you think that they are even worth it? I had the extended battery when I had the Apache (ppc6700) but since it was bought used, I thought that the batteries were loosing charge due to the previous use...
I would like to get one but if they do not show significant gains, there is no need for the money waste.

2600mAh battery extension for X10

Since i can't get the battery to last long enough even with better roms and so on i am now looking on battery extensions. Battery bigger than 1500mAh that is the original one. Iv seen "mugen" has some 1800mAh but they are quite expensive and not that much of a difference only 20% increase.
But iv come across some 2600mAh battery extensions this gives an amazing 73,3% increase in power. The only problem i see is that they are bigger.
im looking at this one:
http://www.batteryupgrade.com/shopB...rtmentProductId/85344458/shopGroupId/79274206
But have anyone used something like this? how is it getting your phone this fat? is it uncomftable? to heavy? how much thicker does it actually become? 0.5cm? 1cm?
Thanks for all the answers.
I use a 2600 battery. It makes the phone about the size of a Tytn 2, a small price to pay IMHO!

I woulndn't buy it. It doesn't have the same voltage as stock: 3.7v. So this battery actually will not last as the mAh suggest. looks cheappy choppy too and too much $$ in my opinion
I have one and use one if I know I'm not going to be in my car (or near an outlet) for a long time. It's pretty bulky. I didn't think I'd mind the bulk, but it DOES make the phone ugly as hell.
With my regular battery, I can usually go from about 6am to 4pm before desperately needing a charge. With the 2600mah one, I can go until bedtime (about 10-11pm). Not a massive increase, but an important one.
Still, it's ugly as hell. I wish they tapered it in more near the camera area. So much unnecessary bulk at the top.
does anyone of you have pictures with this kind of battery on the phone?
some pics of your phones with the battery would be nice
Mugen Power? They have a great battery for X10. Lots of reviews at xperiax10(dot)net blog.
It looks fatty!
Ok. I have another idea il buy 1 more original battery and a battery docking for it. So when one is used up il just put in the other one, and set the other for charge. Should not be too big of a problem. I'm normally not out for more than 9 hours at a time. If I know I'm going out for more I could just bring the other battery with me.

got a bit cold on the idea of getting the phone ugly so i now went for 1 new battery and one docking station for the battery. So that i can always have a battery ready to use
you may need to change the language on the site from norwegian to english.
I think it's the best way, because unplug/replug by usb can damage the plug...it happens to me
i dont think i would ever wanna have a phone that big of its size
I use the big ones, and desktop charger! PERFECT!

2600mAh battery
Has anyone tried the 2600mAh battery yet?
so fat but it looks good
i think that size should only help if u are going to be out of home for a couple days o something like that.. i charge my x10 everyday and it works for me... X everyday i use my mp3 player, wifi for browsing. BT, camera, etc. but it's a good idea for travelling.
salu2
PIKS pls
can anybody give us a pik of the phone with the battery inside?

mugen also makes a 3600mah battery. makes the phone nice and bulky. haha.
I just carry around an extra battery when I know I'm going to be away from a plug. Stock battery lasts around 16 hours for me (wifi on all day, music, browsing, games) and that's good enough for me.

[Q] My Curiosity about extended batteries

Ok, I bought an extended battery (3500 mah) on ebay. Don't nag me about that cause it works! well sort of at least. I got it to fully charge over night then all of the sudden the next day its an invalid battery. I've read that there isnt really a fix for this unless I buy an external battery charger and use a widget to get the status of my battery.. I wanted to buy that huge 4800 mah battery but this has me spooked cause 100 bucks is a lot of money for a poor college guy like myself. I dont want to take it out of the box and be in the same boat I'm in now.
so my questions:
Are there any developers willing to code something fancy for me and others with extended batteries?
can anyone tell me their luck with an extended batterys?
Will I have problems with that behemoth 4800 mah battery?
ps I've been through 7 pages of atrix extended battery searches.
Same here, but I found under v6 supercharger script page(xda) he gives advice on calibrating ur battery.worked and now with heavy use ill get 12 hours..soo worth it good luck

I tried, it but it didnt help. I still have an invalid battery, but the battery life is sweet! just wish I could charge it..

S3 Battery quality?

So on Amazon I was browsing for batteries and extended batteries, unfortunately there's like nothing for reviews and I have no knowledge of battery life stuff.
Anyone get a battery or extended with NFC for cheap?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
I haven't bought a spare battery for the S3 yet but so far I don't see a major need to. I have already hit well over 24hr's of battery life with moderate use (including live weather background and lots of things accessing data frequently). I feel comfortable going to work without having charged the phone over night.
I came from the Vibrant which I needed to swap the battery out 3 times at home throughout the day.
