I guess it's just bug fixes, but they claim this rom will be more stabile... Let's just wait and see...

Qtek and T-mobile seem to have upgraded to 1.60 but I do not think that 2 has officially released something beyond 1.30. Does anyone know if there is a 1.60 rom for the xdaII?
Would it be ok for me to upgrade to the qtek 1.60.21 (would I loose the O2 warranty?)
Do I just run the ruu16021...exe from dangaard or is it more complex than that?

I did the upgrade van t-mobile germany , which you can find on their website and its works fine, it is the same upgrade to the 1.60 as the one from t-mobile nl. i would stik to the dutch one, its perfect and in englisch
I had it on my machine, but re-upgraded to the german one, and no problems with country codes whatsoever

Please be patient - there will definitely be an O2 UK ROM upgrade for Xda II, it is just that there are still some outstanding bugs to be resolved. Obviously this is no consolation given that other networks have released theirs, but c'est la vie!
where can i find the t-mobile netherland rom update for the mda 2 i look on t-mobile.nl but i can not find it any where. i am now using rom number 1.003 usa :?: :idea: :shock:

I have an XDA II from O2 and upgraded to 1.60.21 Dutch with a cooked 02 rom from Thariman. It works great, and haven't got a problem ever since. YOu can find the links into this forum. Anyways, as I can see you use Greek Vodafone, can you help me with the MMS settings as the guys in Vodafone seem confused?

I am waiting for the official O2 upgrade, since I am worried about loosing the warranty. :-/
Guys at GR Voda where less than helpfull when I asked them Anyway try this: http://www.ace-hellas.gr/qtek/ these are the Greek importers for the Qtek and have the settings on-line for all Greek networks, allthough MMS with vodafone do not always work...
It would also be helpfull if you checked the greek xda postings at www.myphone.gr

Dear Tabbycat,
I noted your reply on this message thread on 23 Jan 2004 and being an O2 XDAII owner within warranty I wanted to wait for the official O2 ROM upgrade, after the testing is complete. I would be interested to know how the testing is going and whether you know if there is now a planned upgrade release date?
Also, today I posted a new message about bugs that I have spotted in my XDAII software. Are you aware of these bugs?

i spoke to O2-Uk today concerning the bugs i was having, and they said they would be rectified when the new upgrade is released on the 21st march 2004.

No then your machine becomes german language.
I did it the otherway arround, I had upgraded to the dutch t-moble rom, which made the machine english, then later upgraded back to the german t-mobile rom which made it german again
Wel i see that I have excactly the same geräate information, so it makes no sence to upgrade to that one. It means we have to wait a bit longer for an radio upgrade

new French ROM expected this week from Dangaard
I have a Qtek 2020 unlocked bought in Belgium.
Current ROM is 1.58.00FRA.
I called Dangaard, the one behind the resellers in Belgium, saying me they cannot distribute ROM directly to end-users but we have to ask our resellers to connect to Dangaard's FTP site. The resellers should then give us the updates :evil: .
Apparently, they should be a new ROM this week on their FTP site.
Once I get the news, I'll update this post.

There is currently no update as far as I know for the French ROM.
However, an update should come very soon, was already promised last week.
To update, officially you have to go back to the shop where you bought your Qtek in order not to loose your guarantee. It has the password to log on Dangaard's ftp site and download the last ROM. Idem if you lost the current one.
Mine is 1.58.00FRA and is said to be the last one. Then you should ask a fix tool for the mms program that allows you to update it to 1.06.
When news arrive, I'll post it.

If someone explane me how to backup the rom, the extended rom, and the radio rom, i'll put them on the net!

i don't know, why 02 always came late a release new ROM !!! (I hate very much) compared with qtek, imate,& t-mob.
A newer O2 XDA2 come out with 1.66 rom included, but it is unpublished rom.

Could someone tell me what the latest ROM version for a QTEK 2020 (i.e. XDA II) is nowadays? I don't mind using an O2 or i-mate version, and I'm not looking for a hack with Windows Mobile SE or something - just the latest official/stable(?) version. And of course where can I download it from.
I currently have 1.72.00WWE which I've upgraded quite a while ago (actually it's dated to be a year old), and is quite buggy...

If you read a bit on the forum, all the answers are there.
Qtek is probably one of the worst supporters of their devices, everything else has to be tweaked somehow, so it's up to you.
There are NOT 2.XX oficial release for the Qtek 2020, so I would reccommend you to give a chance to some of the ROMs in the forum...
You have my choice in my signature, but every choice has it's own set of problems/limitations.
